Author's Note: Hi Everyone…so sorry it has taken me another hot minute to finish this super long chapter. I guess I am not what I used to be where I could write a chapter a day. Like I said, life likes to happen…that and my energy level depletes sometimes. I swear there is not enough headache medicine and coffee in the world that can get me going some days. But anyway, it isn't all that bad I suppose. I am really enjoying this story and can't wait to keep writing it. It is just some days are harder to write than others. And it doesn't help that between the drama of my job and the drama of my life that I am struggle bussing it hard to find the time to dedicate my creativity to this; but I promise, I am making it.

I want to thank you all that continue to encourage me, read my work, reach out to me, and above all just be there for me. I have said this since day 1 and I will say it until my last day; you all are the best fans a girl could ever hope to have. I am blessed that even one of you reads my work, and even more so when you reach out to me and let me know that my work has given you some sort of meaning. I think it is ironic that my story, in some weird way, has given you something to look forward to, or even touched your life when it is your feedback and praise that has long since altered mine. Honestly, I can't imagine this is where I would be with my writing if it wasn't for those encouraging words and you all sticking by my side through this crazy adventure. So again, thank you all so much for literally everything! I know this isn't much, but know I see you and I appreciate all you have done for me.

So, before everyone gets super mad at me, I wanted to do this fun filler chapter. I feel that the storyline has been kinda heavy, and I promise after this chapter we get back to the plot. But I figured you might like to see some cuteness from the kiddos. So, this chapter is for you; and if you are not that interested, well next week some time I will post another serious chapter! So please look forward to that!

I want to give a couple shout outs to a few writers here on Fanfiction. The first is Mainwarudo Kohna. Seriously, one of the greatest fans I have ever had in my writing career here on fanfiction. Not only that, but the way Mainwarudo can put their words into their stories is amazing! Please, please, please go check out Mainwarudo's fanfics! I promise you won't be disappointed.

The second shout out I want to give is to SanshiLove. SanshiLove and I have been best friends since forever. I literally mean that-since we were kids and started coming up with plot lines for fun when we were at each other's houses. As of late, her and I have been collaborating on a story called Chasing Stars. If you like my writing style, and open to reading hers, you should totally go over to her fanfiction and give it a try.

These two are amazing authors and I hope you will give their stories a read! I know they won't disappoint!

I also want to thank my crazy boyfriend; seriously, you all gave him such an ego trip. He was running around here taking all the credit for making me write. And though he can be a pain in my ass sometimes; it is him I owe my greatest gratitude towards. He is my biggest fan and he always on me to keep my deadline promises...even if I fail them sometimes. He was touched by your words of thanks, and I am sure he will keep his end of the deal by making sure I keep making chapters out every week or so. So I dedicate this chapter to him and I hope he enjoyed this as much as you all do!

The inspiration of this chapter and of course a little mix of this Anime and Fairy Tail is inspired by the song "Ebb and Flow" by Nagi no Asukara-Sashite Bakura OST Season 1 "Lull in the Sea". It is one of my favorite Anime's and Anime openings ever! Seriously! I got the inspiration to not just sort of combine both anime's together, but also be inspired to make a chapter inspired by the song. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy this and don't forget to leave a review, so we can fangirl together! I can't wait to hear you feedback! Enjoy!

Lulled Waters

~Chapter Fifty~

Two days have passed since they departed from the Isles. Cana's newest man, Baccuas, was steering the ship towards the Kingdom of Fiore. Those in the group, that decided to take on this journey, all were enjoying their time aboard the ship. All respected families had their own cabin. During the day it was Natsu fighting with his cousin Wendy to help her harness her skills with Cana. Juvia, Lucy, and Levy were enjoying their time with the Exceeds as they had quickly returned after one day of sending out their own messages to the respected persons. All four children were playing together and enjoying being reunited almost indefinitely. Although, all were clueless by the adult meeting that happened back at Cana's home. It was peaceful here with fresh breezes to guide their ship and with no danger in sight, it appeared everyone could breathe much easier. One wouldn't even think that there would be a full-on war behind them; with how cheerful the guests had appeared.

Luna and Storm were trying to seek out the twins in their current game of hide-n-seek. Of course, they were not trying very hard as they were catching up, "You sure your Pops wasn't too mad at me for spilling the secret?"

"Not really. He is more scared of losing Momma and me. We fought a lot, but I think this brought us closer together more." She smiled softly.

"I am glad, but you broke your promise to me, Luna. Why would you do that?" He sighed.

"I'm…really sorry Storm. It just kinda…happened I guess."

The boy could only shake his head at his best friend, "You are such a weirdo, Luna." He cocked a half smile.

"That is what Papa calls Momma." Luna tilted her head towards her friend walking slightly behind her. As the pair were walking on the deck of the ship, not too far off were their mothers sipping their tea and watching the children play.

"Juvia thinks that our children look rather cute together today."

"Well I was worried about encouraging this, but you can see how they are bonding so well."

"Ah, to be young again. Juvia remembers how Gray won Juvia's heart."

"You know I don't believe I have heard you tell me that story?" Lucy reached to pick up another coffee cake to nibble on.

"Oh, Juvia and Gray's love story is one of Juvia's greatest memories!" The Ocean Queen lit up at the prospect of re-accounting one of her most beloved memories. She watched her friends settle in their seats as they each eagerly waited for the story to begin.

She cleared her throat as her mind travelled back down memory lane before she started, "Juvia remembers it like it was yesterday. Back when Juvia was but just a teenager, she remembers her parents discussing a family from a winter kingdom that was to come and inquire about Juvia's hand in possibly a marriage. Gray only just a few years older than Juvia."

"How old were you both?"

"Juvia was about to turn seventeen, while Gray had reached the age of twenty."

"That was about the age Gajeel and I were when we started to date."

"Why do I feel like the baby of the group?"

"Because, Lu-chan, you are." The three women laughed light heartedly at the well-meaning joke.

"Okay, okay, I get it. Juvia, please continue?"

Juvia smiled kindly as Lucy helped them to get back on track, "Ah, now where was Juvia at…oh yes! Gray was at the age in his country where he was eligible to be married. Juvia had heard of Gray's achievements and his handsomeness, but never seen Gray before. With Gray and his family to come visit Juvia's home, Juvia remembered feeling anxious. But when Juvia first set her eyes on her possible husband, Juvia found herself falling in love at first sight." She had paused the story to enjoy hearing her friends swoon their comments of 'how romantic' the story was so far.

"So, love at first sight? Juvia! How romantic!"

"Sounds a little bit like me and Natsu."

"Well Juvia believes that to be true. Falling in love at first sight is the most romantic of all romances, Juvia believe. In any regard, when Juvia realized she was in love, Juvia did all she could do to learn all she could about Gray so that Gray would look at Juvia the way she looked at him."

"So, what happened after that?"

"Well, Gray was not as kind as Juvia was. Gray ignored Juvia and wouldn't give Juvia any of his time."

"What a jerk! He rejected your feelings?" Levy crossed her arms.

"So how did he fall in love?" Lucy questioned with still her own burning curiosity.

With a smug smile, the Queen of the Sea continued, "Juvia snuck on Gray's ship and refused to leave Gray's side. Juvia even stayed with him and ignored both parent's pleas to return to the ocean. Juvia was home regardless what Gray said. It wasn't until Gray's brother asked for Juvia's hand, and pursued Juvia's hand when Gray first noticed Juvia for who Juvia was. When Gray realized his feelings, Gray then claimed Juvia as his own."

"Cl-claimed as his own!" The Celestial Queen looked over at her counterpart companion rather confused as she spotted the too well knowing glint in her azure-haired friend's eye. The said woman reached over to sip her drink rather innocently.

"Let me see if I understand correctly; you invited yourself to his home, and without his permission, essentially stayed with him regardless of orders?"

"Levy is correct."

"You know, that actually does sound like something you would do." The women shared another round of laugh.

"Juvia was much bolder back then than Juvia is today."

"I am not so sure about that statement. After all, wasn't it your idea that our children be arranged?"

"Juvia knows what she is doing. Juvia likes to think Storm is the perfect match for Luna."

"It is a good call, but I will do anything for my daughter's happiness. And, if she decides she does not want to marry, or be with Storm, I hope you understand that we all will agree with that decision."

"Then Storm best do right by Luna; but it warms Juvia's heart to know both children are happy as Juvia feels the same as her close friend Lucy does." The two mother's exchanged knowing smiles as the water ruler placed a hand on her growing bump, "Do you know the gender?"

"Juvia knows the baby is a girl; Juvia can feel it in her bones."

"A little girl huh? What are you planning for names?" The topic changed from joking and being joyous to more serious and intimate; a close bond forming by all of them at the happy miracle that would come. They needed more happy miracles after how dreary everything had been lately.

"There are a few names that Juvia has been considering…"

"Let me hear them? I want to know my future god-daughter's potential name." Levy grinned as she poured herself another hot beverage.

"God-daughter?"

"A guardian appointed by biological parents should biological parents not be capable of being child's guardian."

"Juvia knows what that means. Does Levy wish to be Juvia and Gray's daughter's god-parent?"

"Why not? Lucy practically gets to be your son's mother-in-law. I know us all want to be connected. Aren't we all practically family?" Another shared smile was exchanged among them; but this was filled with unsaid, hopeful emotion.

The wife of the king in the north could only blink away a few tears, "Very well! Juvia will be happy to tell you the names. How does Siren sound?"

"Siren? No, sounds too whiny." Lucy chuckled.

"Marina?"

"Like a boat marina?" Levy raised an eyebrow.

"Perhaps not…how about Snow?"

"Pretty, but too predictable don't you think?"

"Avalanche?"

"Seriously? Like a disaster? When I think of a cute little girl, I don't think of a storm to be buried in." Levy tried to sympathize, but her explanations were not wrong.

However, the other young mother watched her friend let out a sigh as she appeared to be crestfallen. "Look Juvia, just because we may criticize the names; those are our opinions. The only that should count is yours and Gray's."

"But Levy and Lucy's opinions are important, and Gray is not here to help Juvia deicide…these names do sound too cliché!"

"Well, what is a theme you are going for?"

"Juvia is thinking of names that compliment both Juvia and Gray."

"Okay, that is a good start, but what comes to mind when you think of having a little girl?" Levy appeared to be onto something, and Lucy was following her lead.

"Well…Juvia thinks her baby will be beautiful like the snow, kind like Luna, strong like Storm, but most of all; precious to both Juvia and Gray."

"Hmm, well how did you come up with Storm's name?"

"Juvia's magic is water based and Gray's is ice. Together, wouldn't Levy agree that it would be a storm should they collide?"

"What about Winter?" Lucy spoke softly while she pondered in thought.

"Hey! That actually sounds cute!"

"Huh?" She blinked her eyes and looked to see her two friends watching her closely. A light blush crossed her cheeks. "Wh-what sounds cute?"

"Winter…Juvia likes it! Why didn't Lucy say something earlier!"

"You know, has a good ring to it. Winter; both your elements and it is the prettiest when the blizzard had calmed and quiet. I think you found it Juvia."

"Gray will be so happy!" The Water Queen grinned widely. "Juvia is so excited to know her friends helped picked the perfect name!"

"Well of course! We can't let you bring in the cutest little girl in the world without the best name!"

"You are most welcome of course." Lucy attempted the humbler approach. All looked to one another and then the gazes down to the resting bump of Juvia's belly. It was as if the new life that would be joining their group was a blessing that they all needed so badly. Their attention was suddenly drawn to the four children that were rushing their way.

"Luna?"

"Momma! Storm says we are close to his Grandmama's palace! Can we please go visit?" The spirited little girl begged.

"Juvia mother's house?"

"Now that Luna mentions it, Luna appears to be correct. We are near Juvia's native home." The Water Queen spoke thoughtfully as she laid back in her seat with her forefinger to the corner of her mouth and eyes upturned toward the sky.

"Please Mom, can we all go? I haven't seen Grandmama in a long time!" Her son had joined his friend's side with the same pleading expression.

"Steel and I haven't even seen the ocean this far, and it would be so cool if we got to see where your home is from!" Alex pipped in with the conversation as her brother stood standoffish while the trio were a unified front.

"Hmm, Juvia doesn't seem to find any issue."

"Well this sounds like a plan. Why don't I go inform Cana and Natsu then about the change of plans?" Lucy found herself agreeing as she eyed the cheering youngsters. A playful smile tugged at the corner of her mouth as it warmed her to see such eager happiness; something that they needed more of these days.

As the children talked wildly among themselves about what they could possibly do in the ocean, the Celestial Queen made her way in search of her better half. She hadn't need to look far as she found him discussing with Cana and Happy overlooking a map of their course. Hearing the door open, her mate's eyes connected with hers, but there was a different air about him. As she took in the temperature of the room, she couldn't help but find there was an uneasy tension. Ignoring it, she stepped in and watched Natsu's worry melt into adoring affection. He straightened himself and pulled his wife to him in his strong embrace while planting a smoldering kiss on her lips.

"Well, well look who has come all the way just to see me?"

"Hey Luce." Cana offered a smile.

While snickering Exceed appeared to find amusement at their fond display. "Maybe you two should get a room?" He teased.

"And maybe we will. But I had come up to bring an idea to you all. But…I see I might be interrupting something?"

"We were planning the best course to get to Fiore." The captain took a sip of her drink as she rubbed her temple with her free hand. The queen hadn't missed the stressed gaze her friend appeared to be experiencing while she continued to study the map.

"Hadn't we already done that before we departed?"

"Well Baccuas came to us this morning with some news. Apparently Natsu's brother had send out declarations of war with the compliments of a hefty ransom for all our heads. He is calling on all ports with this huge reward for either information or any of us…dead or alive." The playful cat sighed as he fully turned to his close friend with this news.

"Is this true?" Lucy couldn't hide the surprise in her tone. She had known Zeref to go far with his plans, and he should have just been after her and her family, but to call on anyone aiding them; she was foolish to think otherwise that he would show mercy in sparing them.

"Afraid so Luce. We kinda left in so much of a hurry between picking you up and departing quickly from Dad's. We really didn't have time to properly stock, nor prepare for this journey. As Jellal said, every second was wasted when Zeref could be making his way to us. As it stands right now, the ship needs maintenance and it needs to be stocked properly. With this new decree in place, it is going to be hard to find a safe place to land."

"So that is why you are trying to change course?"

"Something like that." Her mate murmured in her locks.

"Well, what if I might be able to come up with a solution?" She smiled sympathetically at the small group.

"What is that?" The blue Exceed inquired with a hopeful tone. He had been idly munching on his fish with a look of helplessness.

"Well, it was mostly the kids' idea really. Storm came up and told us that the ship was close to Juvia's native home. She said that her parents still reside there."

"Lucy! You are a genius!" Cana brightened significantly as she suddenly separated the two and hugged the large chested woman in her own tight embrace while jumping for joy.

"I will go tell Baccuas!" Happy quickly finished his fish and flew out the window in search for the first mate of the vessel. The overzealous captain had quickly removed herself and took off out the door while calling out that she would join Happy in the news, while giving instruction to the crew on their next natural steps. The couple couldn't help but laugh a little at the pair and looked at each other with matching smiles. She then found herself back where she belonged; in her mate's arms. A coy smile graced her lips as she eyed him still with her playful expression.

"When did you become so resourceful?" He teased.

"I've always been crafty." They harmonized with their joined laughter.

"Well regardless, sounds like we will be heading to Juvia's old kingdom. It will be interesting to see where water woman grew up."

"Sounds exciting exactly. Besides, Storm's pretty ecstatic."

"I bet. Who wouldn't like to see their grandparents?"

"One day, that might be us."

"Us?"

"You honestly don't think Luna will have beautiful children?"

"Luna with children? No, it is too soon to be thinking that far ahead." The pair held each other in their happy bliss as they both laughed together once again.

With the new plan in place, Panther Lily had flown ahead of the ship with the letter written by Juvia to be granted passage to her native home. With the return of approval, the ship made its course toward an island in the far-off distance. Everyone seemed to be holding back a breath until it was all released at the same time when they crossed the line of no return and there was nothing dangerous awaiting them. It was the same relief of knowing they had reached a haven of safety. When the ship had docked, and the group excitedly exited to the sands of the island, they had spotted the gathering of the ocean royals approaching their group.

The current ocean reigning couple, Juvia's parents, had held their arms open to welcome back their beloved daughter and precious grandson. Both had looked similar of the wife of the Ice King; that resided in the north kingdom. Luna had stayed close to her own parents, but her every focused line of sight was always on her best friend's figure. She had watched him jump up into his waiting Grandpapa's arms. Her mother had reached down and gently petted her hair. Her mother wasn't blind to her child's feelings. She had never seen or met either of her deceased grandparents, and she was certain it was a longing feeling she, unfortunately, would need to get accustom to. Her daughter looked up at her with concern, and she comforted her by reaching down and gently squeezing her hand three times as if to state, with each squeeze, how much she loved her.

The captain and her first mate joined the Dragneel's and company with the crew and friends aboard their ship. They came to the sight of Juvia speaking in her native tongue to her mother, the ruler of the seas, about the meaning of the letter she had written. It appeared she was also discussing furthermore of their dire situation. The onlookers studied their gracious hosts. Juvia certainly looked almost identical to her mother with her unique coloring, similar sounding voice, and how their height appeared to match the other. Though, with her mother's looks, she appeared to have her father's personality. The group had observed Storm rough house and play out their own conversation.

With the discussion seeming to come to an end, the Water Queen had turned back towards the audience with a wide smile adorning her face. "Juvia's mother had courteously welcomes Juvia's friends to Juvia parent's kingdom! Also, Cana's ship will be fully stocked while Juvia's guests rest until tomorrow."

"You got any alcohol, Juvia? Home girl is thirsty, you know?"

"There will be plenty of refreshments once everyone has been given enough enna to breath underwater."

"Enna?"

"Yes, I have heard of this. It's a gift of those born of Juvia's clan from the blessing of the sea gods of old. What it is, is that it is a light 'second' layer overlapping their skin that all who are from the sea, are born with. This 'second' layer allow them to breath underwater like we can breathe air above it. Juvia and her family are the only ones that can bless this gift to those not born of the sea. This is because they are descendants from the sea gods themselves." The knowledgeable mate of the iron dragon explained to the confusion of the group.

"Levy is correct. Juvia and her parents will gladly bless this gift for the group. Please, form groups so Juvia can make this quick." The Water Queen requested.

Everyone broke up into their respected groups as Juvia, and her parents, went around to each family and began to bless each with the enna. Storm had approached Luna as his mother was busy with helping Natsu obtain his own enna. With each person, their skin has a slight shimmer in the afternoon sunlight. The one difference one could tell is that after the enna was forming among their skin was they felt a slightly uncomfortable dryness.

"Storm…was it is it like to have enna?"

"Why don't I show you, Luna? You will find out soon enough anyway. Here, close your eyes. I'll help give you, yours. Mom had already showed me how." The youthful boy could only smile shyly. His best friend gave an accepting nod, and then obeyed by closing her eyes. It was a little comical as she stood very stiff while anxiously waiting for her own enna to form as she had seen on her parents. As she waited, she began to feel a warmth that started from the tips of her fingers and toes that seemed to travel towards the middle of her body. She began to feel her skin take on a dryness; like after a long day of training and she hadn't had a drink in that entire time.

She hadn't opened her eyes until she had heard him exclaim, "Okay, there! All done!" The dragoness slowly opened her eyes and blinked into the sunlight. As she looked at her arms, she continued to squint at the shimmering as it reflected the sunlight. It had reminded her of the days where her and her strong father would sit on the banks of the lake by the cottage and fish. She remembered how the light would break apart on the surface of the water of that lake. A soft smile played at the corner of her mouth as she reflected on that fond memory. As her vision became restored, she glanced over at Storm, whom had not moved one inch from her side, but she found it almost hard to breath as she noticed the bright smile on his face.

"Cool, huh?"

"Whoa…I had no idea that you could do something like this…"

"Wait until we hit the water."

"Hey! Look at me!" Natsu shouted as she began to run around with Happy as they purposefully attempted to reflect the sun on their skin. Both his wife and daughter could only identically shake their heads as they watched the childish man make a fool of himself. Of course, his behavior only was infectious as Storm, Baccuas, and Levy's children joined in his running around and foolish behavior.

"Juvia is ready if everyone else is! This way!" The woman in charge called over. The brigade of Natsu and his merry crew stopped their shenanigans and followed the main group over to the edge of the sand where it met the ocean line waves. As the group stared out, the couldn't help but be mesmerized by the crystal waters and that perfect blue hue that was it signature calling of ocean water. As the sun reflected those waters in afternoon glory, it was not hard to see, on this clear day, the underwater community that flourished in these waters. Large buildings which housed homes and business lined on the cobble walking streets below them. Of course, it was not hard to miss the vibrant, and elegant palace that resided in the very center of this prestigious, humble dwelling. An overwhelming sense of feeling of wonder hushed the excited group.

Hearing Juvia's mother, the current queen regent, speak in what one would assume is a traditional greeting; was the first to take to the dive ahead over her husband, and begun to swim under those beautiful waters. Shortly, everyone, one by one, joined in by making their own dives after the royal hosts. A cry of celebration was heard with each one as they hit the water. Instantly the feeling was similar to receiving that first drink after a long walk in the desert. Being submerged in its liquid only brought instant relief that had almost made everyone cry. Just as Levy had explained, they all realized that they could indeed breathe underwater! Storm looked over his shoulder at Luna who was still clutching her mother's hand tightly. Unlike most of those rejoicing at the feeling of what could be described as what a mermaid might feel like, she only appeared to be a little frighten as she trembled slightly. Clearly this was not an environment she was ever exposed to. He swam over and looked at her mother with a pleading look from him to be allowed to give some sort of comfort.

He appeared to be relaxed as she gave a warm smile of acceptance. The Celestial Queen allowed him to take hold of her other hand. The little girl looked anxious at her laid-back best friend as he continued to swim closer to her and be by her side. On the other hand, Levy's children squealed with such joy and excitement as they spotted a school of fish swim through the group as they made their way towards the underwater palace.

Natsu swam ahead of his family along side Cana and Wendy as they looked at the lay of the sea village. Their confidence and wonder was the theme for the group as they made their journey. Each lightly touched down at the entrance of the large estate dwelling. It was such a strange concept of being underwater and still feeling like one would normally be on land; but instead of land and sand, there was only water and the ocean floor. How something as simple as a change of elemental scenery could boggle one's own mind. The children of the group were still looking about to the everyday life of the citizens that lived here. It was something else when all it took was a simple change of elemental scenery to get one to look at life in a whole new, different perspective.

Juvia translated for her parents as she announced their official welcome. She also informed them all that there would be banquet for their honored guests. This feast would be as a sign of good will and prosperity. In a sense it was more of a celebration of the brief visit of their beloved daughter and grandchild. As his mother talked and translated for the group, Storm had found his way to stay by Luna's side and his other friends not far off.

"You never told us that you came from here, Storm!" Steel chuckled as he placed his hands behind his unruly head while looking around at the sea creatures floating overhead.

"Didn't think I'd ever come back since we have been visiting Luna more than Grandmama and Grandpapa. I have only been here a couple times; and it is my Mom that has been around here. I was born in Dad's kingdom." The boy of fire and ice could only shrug at his clarification at the attention of his friends.

"You are still quiet, Luna? You sure you are alright?" The mirror image of a childlike Levy turned to her best, female friend. Her gaze was one filled with concern as she glanced over at the silent Dragoness Princess.

"Um…I guess…just…this place feels…"

"Intense right?" The dark-haired prince finished the sentence for her but stepped closer to her side with a gentle smile.

"Yeah, I think it is because I can't use my powers here…it feels so weird."

"Now that you mention it, it would make sense that you can't. Funny how you found out what you can do, but then it is like you are the same before you left your first home?" Steel pondered this aloud, while his twin sister shook her head as his statement made their friend grip herself more in her own self-consciousness.

"Hey Genius, mind keeping your mouth shut?" His sister slugged his shoulder.

"What did I do?" He looked confused. As the twins quietly argue as to not drag in unwanted, parental attention. Luna could only stay quieter in her thoughts.

"Relax Luna, we won't let anything happen to you. After all, aren't you a celestial dragon?" Steel finally spoke to his worried companion; as he promptly ended the bickering with his sibling.

"I…I guess…"

"Cheer up! We are on an adventure! We are under the sea! Luna, we did it! We are finally mermaids!" Alex grinned as she grabbed onto her friend into a exuberant hug. Hearing the magical word, it was like daylight had lighten up within Luna as she immediately began to perk right up.

"Well, why don't I show you all around?" The prince offered.

"Not a bad idea. Where to first?" His male counterpart asked. He folded his arms as the girls stopped their giggling and suddenly drew their attention back to the discussion of options.

Their older friend thoughtfully considered his options before speaking, "Well there is the astronomy tower, the caverns, or maybe the market place?"

"The market place sounds fun."

"Yeah, but all you and Luna would want to do is shop for candy."

"And you won't?" His sister looked at her annoyed brother. "We can have all kinds of things there. Grandmama keeps everything stocked just in case we visit."

"Then the caverns could be fun?" Luna spoke up.

"What about em'?"

"Not sure, sea creatures and treasure?"

"Would your Mom freak if we went?"

Storm could only shrug, "Well, I am all for it."

"Me too!" Steel heartily agreed with the same glint in his eye that he inherited from the Iron Dragon.

"Sounds like an adventure! Let's do it! Doesn't this sound exciting?" Alex looked back at her uneasy friend. Luna's enthusiasm was suddenly drained by her best friend's description. She was of course curious about treasure, but she had read enough stories to know that treasure was always guarded; and she may not be as bold, without her powers, to know what might be lurking to protect it.

"You know I won't let anything happen to you, right?" Storm came up to her with a gentle smile.

"But?"

"Come on Luna! Don't be a chicken!" The brave male of the group chastises.

"Yeah! Chicken! Chicken!" His sister joined in. Storm held out his hand to silence them, and after a moment or two of her internal debate, the dragoness princess she looked at the eagerly awaiting group with a gentle smile.

"Alright, follow me everyone." Her best friend grinned as the children slipped away from the group and took off. They swam towards the fringes of the city and made a straight line for the caverns in the distance. As the four friends made their journey, they could see all sorts of sea life and those that lived in the community. Luan had sworn she had never seen anything quite as beautiful in her young life as these waters. Colorful fish swam in their schools while life below. with the people of the sea, continued life as normal. People bartered away in the market place, children scurried home from their schools, and life continued without some much as being aware of the visitors swimming above. The pinked haired dragoness spied the twins tagging each other as they attempted to keep up with Storm. Her best friend had led them the way as he peeked back every so often to see if none were lost in his little group. Their traveling was ways from the palace, but as they drew closer towards the caverns, the further away they headed from the city. The homes were becoming more and more scarce while the vast ocean, and its eco-system, laid ahead. More varieties of fish, whales, and even octopi floated and swam around.

It wasn't until they managed to pass the herd of vibrant, glowing jellyfish until they saw the monstrous underwater mountain that appeared closer that they swam. It was not long until the found themselves in front of the huge landmark. Alex appeared in complete state of awe while her friend couldn't help but feel the return of her sense of unease. There was something inviting, but sinister at the same time, and for some reason the little one refused to want to venture towards the open mouth of the caverns that dropped into a void. Ahead of her, the twins were peering down as Storm was instructing them on the safety rules he wanted to set in place. He appeared only annoyed however as he come to find that none were willing to listen; nor paying any sort of attention.

"Hey! If you guys aren't gonna listen, then maybe we will just go back!"

"Come on wet blanket! Rules are for sisses! We are men and can protect the fraidy girls!"

"Who says we are the ones who need protection! It is probably you both that Luna and I will be saving; right Luna?" His sister stuck out her tongue and turned to her trembling best friend. She turned to face her friend whom seemed to have her gaze transfixed onto the mountain ahead.

"Don't think she heard ya, sis."

"Hey Luna, we don't have to go-"

"I'm fine." She cut a surprised Storm off.

"Wanna race? I bet I could wipe the floor with ya fire girl!" Steel challenged as he attempted to keep up with the light-hearted shift in mood.

"Guys, seriously, no one is going in until after I go over-"

"Last one in is a wet blanket!" Alex cried over her shoulder as she swam ahead and dove head first into the mouth. She let out playful squeal of happiness while she allowed herself to push herself.

"Cheater!" her brother cried out annoyed and raced after. Before either Luna or Storm could stop either twin, they found themselves chasing after the trouble makers to keep up.

~Palace~

After some time getting settled in, the Celestial Queen found herself sitting in the audience of the underwater ruler and her daughter with all the other females of their crew for afternoon tea. Thankfully, their onboard translators, Levy and Juvia, were able to bridge the gap of communication between their gracious hostess and themselves. The mate of the fire dragon found herself fascinated by how the ocean and the seas were ruled. Juvia's line was descendants of the underwater goddess that was a mermaid. Apparently, her descendants that she felt worthy were her children that she allowed to be bestowed the gift of living in the ocean. As they all were about to be explained more of the folklore of this water kingdom, the Celestial Queen felt one of the keys on her belt loop begin to glow. She blinked confused as she drew her attention towards her hip towards where she felt the heat pulsing. With a sudden burst of light energy, Aquarius appeared with a smug look as she gazed upon the shocked looks of the women. It was quite the spectacle after that. The ruler had fallen to her knees, with sudden tears in her eyes, and began to worship the celestial spirit.

"It was my gift that I had left with my linage to the people of the sea long ago; well before all your time. Funny to be returned to my birth place once more." Aquarius scoffed.

"Juvia is quite honored to be in the presence of her creator of the sea."

"As you should be. See brat, at least someone knows how to welcome me properly, and to give me the respect I am owed."

"Never miss a chance to rub it in, do you?"

"What did you say!"

"I-I said I will do my best to learn!" The queen had found herself back pedaling from the sheer glare of one of her most beloved keys. Although Aquarius was scary, she knew she always meant well. However, she still felt herself shrinking under the celestial water spirit's leveling glare; even if it was just a matter of correcting her holder, rather than anything malicious. As far as Celestial Mermaid was concerned, it wasn't worth her breath. Truth be told, she was glad to have such a brief reunion with her children of the sea; particularly her direct line. Not to mention it had felt ages since she had returned to this water. Even though ages have passed, it certainly didn't feel like it being in her old palace.

With the sudden return of Aquarius, word from the servants travelled like the tide around the palace with all the high titles coming to pay their respects, but to also offer their own praise of worship. Lucy couldn't help but feel uneasy with all things considering as the lovely afternoon tea had quickly turned into an afternoon sermon of Aquarius being appraised in the highest respect; which, of course, the water bender did not mind at all.

With all eyes on the original creator of the people and not wanting to distract anyone from her mother's beloved spirit, the young mother had slipped away from all the excitement to seek out her husband. She needn't to look far to find him and Wendy eating their snack with Happy and Carla. Not too far off Panther Lily appeared to be fighting with Baccuas as they were challenging their skills in the sea. No one really paid any mind as the Celestial Queen graced her presence. Natsu seemed to brighten up significantly as he caught his mate's scent and joined his wife's side.

"Got tired of that stuffy party, and came to join us Luce?" He chuckled.

"Oh! Hello Lucy!" Wendy looked over with a bright smile.

"Afraid so. Aquarius decided to invite herself and stole the show. I didn't want to risk her getting mad at me and creating a tidal wave for target practice." At this, Wendy and the Exceeds could only snicker at the picture that was painted. Lucy leaned over and planted a kiss on her chuckling mate's cheek.

"Sounds boring."

"Unless you are on the end of that attack. But I thought I would come here instead. Have you seen Luna and the kids? I might just watch after them instead of attending the rest of the tea."

"Aren't they all with you?" Carla sipped her own cup of tea. By now the both Wendy, Panther Lily, and Natsu had narrowed expressions. Lucy could only blink confused as the atmosphere turned dark. "No, I saw them staying with you guys."

"No Luce, they were with you all with that stupid tea thing." At this, the young mother could only shake her head in denial as the unsettling feeling in the pit of her stomach begun to take hold.

"So, if the brats aren't with either of you, then we need to go look for them!" Baccuas was on his feet with Panther Lily on his heels as he approached the small group. Their training had long been forgotten with more important matters taking current attention. Natsu had shared the equally concern expression that was visibly on everyone in their impromptu meeting.

"I am sure they are somewhere here in the palace?" The air dragoness attempted to reassure the concern rippling through them.

"I'll look outside with Lily and Baccuas. You and Lucy should search the palace."

"Happy and I will try and swim above to see if we can spot anything." Carla spoke up for them.

"Luce, let's go see if Juvia or Levy might know where they could be?" Her mate rubbed her tense back as if to assure her that she will be fine. With everyone giving their plans, they had split up in search for the missing the children.

~Luna & The Gang~

How did she end up in this mess? How was she this stupid not to follow one of her father's most basic rule: never ignore your gut feeling. Now she was struggling to keep up with Storm while they were being chased by a pack of hungry sharks. The twins were relying on their magic to boost themselves ahead to unknown safety while Storm was practically dragging her along. Luna, internally, was berating herself for not only her stupidity; but also, her uselessness. If she had only been stronger than she could have made would have made bar-be-que with these fish heads! As luck was against her, she couldn't even make a small flame. But the reality of the situation was that while she was underwater then she was rendered useless. The whole situation was completely her fault as she unknowingly released the horde of sea sharks. At first it was all fun and games exploring the caverns. She even remembered forgetting her inhibitions and gut feeling as they found so many wonderous things from glowing crystals, to even a grotto; but when they had come across paintings on a wall it was when all hell broke loose. There was a trap set, to which she set off, and the horde was upon them. With all these sharks filling the spot they were in; it had taken the heroic efforts of Storm and Steel to distract the sharks as they quickly rushed away. Unfortunately, for them, they had forgotten the way back and was now lost in the maze of endless caverns. They only could swim further into the abyss with no real knowledge of the lay out to make a proper escape. The small group of children tried all they might to escape, and by this point, little Luna begun to wish for her father. He always knew how to protect her, and right now, she needed all the protection she could get.

"Luna! Don't slow down! C'mon!" Storm urged her with panic escaping in his tone. His grip on her was tight in his shaking hand. He could only think to protect her, and to protect his friends. But Luna was weak out of her element, and the water did her no favors as she was beginning to lag. This only prove to terrify the group of children as the sharks were gaining on them quickly. Their snarls echoed in the dark waters and made them each realize just how truly in danger they were.

"Crap! Storm! We hit a dead end!" Screamed out Alex as they came to a rock wall that stretched out of sight in both directions. Luna could only feel her blood turn colder at this realization. They were going to die here. Her parents would never find her in the darkness at the bottom of this watery grave. Their only light was Alex's magic from her 'Light' script words that she had learned from her mother.

The four children were huddled against the wall. Steel and Storm floated ahead of the girls while they had their backs to the wall. Luna was trembling with her arms around Alex as she tried to keep the tears from falling from her eyes. Of course, this was in vain as she felt the small droplets float into the current of the waters. All she could do was continue her futile prayers and cling to her best friend. The pack was coming; they could feel it in the water. Dread filled the dragonesses' as they awaited their terrifying end.

"D-Don't cry Luna…th-then I'll start crying!" Alex begun to whimper as she shook just as much as her friend.

"Come on, those fish heads aren't as strong as us! Believe in us!" Steel resolved his own will and prepared as he put up his fists. Luna eyed Storm's back as he stood tall and ready to take down anything that would come their way. She returned to her friend who was trembling against as she squeezed her eyes as she prepared for the worst.

But the worst had never come. Bright yellow light filled the darkest cavern. Familiar voices attacked the sharks as the water seemed to pull away from children. When the young princess opened her eyes, she had come to the sight of their families beating the hell out of all the sharks and her mother's water bearer, celestial spirit was using her urn to sweep the sharks out and away from the children. By the time Luna realized what was happening, she had found herself in the safety of her parent's arms. Her mother was scolding her something fierce while her father only held her close while he cradled her with hushed, comforting whispers. She, on the other hand, was now crying uncontrollably from the traumatic experience. Who know she would be terrified of sharks?

She had spotted her friends with their own families who were just as upset as hers. As the children were dealing with their own parents, it was Aquarius taking care of the sharks as she finished up her attacks and sent those attacking sharks swimming. Luna closed her eyed as she listened to her father's whispers and cried into her mother's chest.

Much, much later as both Natsu and Lucy had watched their now careful daughter finally lay to sleep, safe and sound in her bedding, they both wore identical concern expressions. The pair had watched from the doorway as they went over the recent events of the day. It was not lost on them that they had almost lost their child; and this time it was not by Zeref's hand. Lucy felt her husband hold her close in his embrace. They both needed each other now. Thinking back to earlier in the afternoon of searching for Luna, asking Aquarius for help, and finding the children in danger did nothing to calm her nerves. The only time she didn't feel the sense of dread was when her child was returned to her arms. She could only recall the emotions that she felt in that moment while the others made quick work to assist the water bearer in dispelling the dangerous threat. Anger and scared out of her wits was all she felt in that moment. Luna was her everything and to think, even for a moment, that she would be lost from this world was a more than devastating thought she honestly couldn't even begin to bear to think.

The little dragoness wasn't the only one relieved to be returned to her upset parents as she saw Panther Lily scolding an annoyed Steel while Alex cried into her mother's arms. Juvia was between crying and yelling as she shook her son in her upset hold. The poor boy was much paler than she had ever seen when his mother threatened to write to his father. All in all, the children and their families were safely returned to the confines of the palace and not one compliant was uttered; it seemed the children knew the gravity of the situation and none wanted to be away from their loved ones. By the time dinner was served, they stayed closer to their parents as they could and went to sleep shortly after the meal had ended.

The Celestial Queen was brought back from her thoughts by her mate nuzzling her comfortingly. "You know she is going to be fine now."

"I know that…"

"I couldn't really tell by how much you were yelling earlier."

"And you didn't?"

"Figured you'd do enough for both of us." He gently teased.

"That isn't funny."

"It kinda was."

"But it isn't. Our child could have been killed."

"I know…but thanks to Aquarius; she was able to save the day." He assured her as he gave her a gentle squeeze.

"But what if we hadn't gotten to her in time?"

"Don't go to that place, Luce. It isn't a good place to even consider."

"Well, why don't we think like that?"

"Because, we will let that fear control us. Luna, and the other kids, are safe now. I'm pretty sure they learned their lesson."

"What if-" She felt him tighten his grip.

"Don't you listen to me? And you say I am the one who has selective hearing!" He feigned hurt.

"Natsu, we should-"

"Shouldn't think about. Yeah, I agree." He pretended to overlook her upset gaze. "I think we should get some sleep. We are going to have to set out early in the morning."

"How can I sleep?"

"I can tell you; very carefully. Come on. Luna isn't going anywhere." He tugged from the doorway and wrapped an arm around her shoulders.

"Can you promise that?"

"Hn?"

"Can you promise that Luna is going nowhere?"

"For now. But you know she is growing up. She is going to be her own person. A young woman is who she will be. She will have my dashing grin and that adventurous personality. But she will have your grace and beauty; but more of all, she is your daughter and will be better than both of us."

"Gods, I don't want to think of her growing up. This life is passing her by and not all of it is happy…"

"So, what are you saying, Luce? Are you thinking you want more than just Luna?"
