-Chapter Fifty-
"That's right" Mr. One said, blocking one of Zoro's attacks with nothing but his arm. Instead of the sound of flesh being ripped into, there was a small 'click' as the man's arm shone like metal.
"You cut it, didn't you?" Zoro asked. "With those arms, huh, you got a rather unusual body. Don't you?" he asked as he pulled away from the man.
"You're not hurt, are you?" I asked Nami, looking down at her as she finally released her tight grip on my robe and straightened out her posture.
"No, just a little shaken up. That was a close one" she said.
"Yeah, imagine the pain you would have been in if Zoro hadn't had intervene as quickly as he did" I said.
"Don't say stuff like that! Just thinking about is starting to make me shake again!" she cried out.
"Well, no, actually you wouldn't be in too much pain. It would have probably been a quick death" I pondered out loud.
"Stop it!" she snapped, smacking the back of my head as I poorly tried to defend myself.
"You noticed that I ate the Dice Dice Fruit, making blades from my entire body" Mr. One said, catching our attention. "You're him, the swordsman who supposedly cut down a hundred men in Whisky Peak."
"He's also the pirate that turned down the invitation to join Baroque Works years ago, at East Blue" Miss. Doublefinger piped up as she swayed her hips from side to side. "And cut down Mr. Seven at the time."
"That was you too?" Mr. One asked.
"Damn, you've been busy since I've last saw you" I said under my breath.
"What was that?" Nami hummed.
"What was what?" I asked, looking at her.
"Didn't you say something?" she asked.
"No, didn't you?" I questioned.
"What?" she questioned, furrowing her brows as she became confused. Turning away to think about what I had said.
"Ha! That's a story that takes me back, that little misunderstanding was your Mr. Seven's fault, for not accepting the terms I offered. As I remembered it, I made him a very generous proposition. I said, 'sure I'll join, as long as you make me your boss'" he said, causing Miss. Doublefinger to laugh.
"You're quite the comedian, aren't you?" she asked.
"Instead of meeting my terms, he rather rudely took a slash at me. So, naturally I put him in his place, now would you like to invite me too?" Zoro smirked. "Because right now, you guys look so ridiculous, I wouldn't even accept the job" he insulted, enraging Mr. One who took a slash at him. Which the swordsman easily blocked the attack.
"You think you can make a fool out of me?" Mr. One leered. "You, some swordsman from an upstart pirate crew."
"Maybe I am, but what do you think you guys are? Puppets with no will of your own, being manipulated by Crocodile into building his fake Utopia or maybe you're all just little tin soldiers" Zoro insulted as they both pulled away from one another. "All shine and no steel."
"Miss. Doublefinger" Mr. One said.
"I know, I know, you want to eliminate him. Don't you? You do as you please, I'll take care of the girls" the woman responded.
"Nami, Skylar be careful…okay, she's gone" Zoro sweat dropped as he took noticed that Nami was already long gone.
"She's fast" I whistled.
"Skylar, you better get going as well and don't go getting yourself killed" the swordsman said as I turned away and waved him off.
"Yeah, I got you, good luck" I called back before taking off to catch up with Nami. It didn't take me long to catch up with her as well as get farther ahead of Miss. Doublefinger. The woman sure loved to walk slowly as well as throw those hips of hers around. We had stopped in a deserted area, the sound of gunfire and screaming all around us, giving off the idea that the fight between the Rebel and Royal Army hadn't been stopped as planned. "I wonder how the others are doing?" I pondered aloud, catching the orange haired woman's attention.
"I'm sure they're alright" she gave a weak smile before sighing. "What am I saying? Of course, they're alright."
"That's the spirit, got to stay positive" I smiled before chuckling as she released a loud yelp and wrapped her arms around my own when a couple of logs nearby tumbled over. "They're just logs, Nami. We lost that woman a while ago, so we have some time to come up with something before she catches up to us" I reassured as I patted her back.
"Yeah" she mumbled, sighing as she pulled away and leaned against the wall of a nearby building. Wrapping her arms around her body as she looked down in thought. It took a minute or two before a look of determination crossed her face as she produced three blue poles from her robe. "Okay, I'll fight, if it's just that one woman we should be able to-" she was cut off by something piercing right through the stone and into her shoulder.
"Shit, Nami!" I cursed, grabbing her before she fell to the ground. She groaned in pain, clutching her now bleeding shoulder as I tried to examining it. "What happened?"
"I'm not sure, something just came shooting through the wall" Nami groaned as she clutched her shoulder. The sound of something repeatedly piercing through the wall broke whatever silence that surrounded this area before a slab of the stone fell over and created an open doorway.
"Give it up girls, it's useless" Miss. Doublefinger said, walking through the open hole.
"I don't see any weapons on you" I pointed out, furrowing your brows.
"You're right, does that mean she has Devil Fruit powers?" Nami questioned.
"You're correct, I ate the Spike Spike Fruit. It granted me the power to release spikes from anywhere on my body" the blue haired woman explained.
"If those spikes can pierce through a stone wall with ease, I'd hate to know what kind of damage they could do to a human" I hissed as Nami straightened herself out and held up her three blue poles.
"Yeah" Nami nodded.
"What? Don't tell me, you're actually going to try and fight me" Miss. Doublefinger raised an eyebrow as she looked at the two of us.
"Yes" Nami said as she connected the three poles together. "Stay away or feel the wrath of my Clima Takt!" she exclaimed.
"A new weapon? Looks interesting" I commented as I pulled my two swords out of their sheaths.
"Clima what now?" Miss. Doublefinger questioned.
"For sunny weather" Nami said, position her weapon so it formed a triangle and a burst of smoke came out of it. When the smoke cleared away I couldn't help the sweat drop that appeared on the back of my head.
"Um, that's a pretty neat trick that won't help us in any way" I commented watching the doves and confetti that popped out and flew everywhere.
"Whoa, look at that, it made doves appear" Nami nervously laughed before growling as she threw her weapon down onto the ground. "Dumb thing!" she growled before looking dejected.
"Are you…alright?" Miss. Doublefinger asked.
"This time, I have it!" Nami suddenly exclaimed as she stood back up and positioned her weapon as if it were a gun. She fired it, only to have flowers burst out of it this time.
"Again, that's a neat trick, but it's not useful" I said.
"And now we have some pretty flowers" Nami mumbled before once again throwing the weapon down onto the ground in frustration. "Piece of junk! What's going on here? Don't play dumb with me bird!" she sneered as she grabbed at one of the doves and shook it back and forth in her frustration. So many sweat drops appeared on my head as I watched her and they only got bigger when I saw the look of sympathy on Miss. Doublefinger's face.
-Later-
I yelped as I dodged another attack sent towards me by Miss. Doublefinger, her attention kept switching between Nami and I as we ran from her. There had been so many close calls, more so towards Nami as she seemed to find herself getting cornered. Only being saved by the barrels nearby or her own robe. "Quit running near the walls and stay in the open areas, you won't be cornered then!" I snapped.
"It's not my fault, she's the one driving me into corners!" she snapped back before ducking as another attack was shot towards her. Taking this chance while the blue haired woman seemed focused on Nami, I rushed towards her only to reel back when the woman quickly turned towards me and attacked.
"Thought you could sneak up on me, did you?" she teased as I growled. "Both of your weapons require you to get close while mine is far ranged."
"Your right, but you can't keep up with the both of us forever" I huffed before dodging another attack.
"What stubborn girls you are, you're both just wasting your time dodging my attacks. You know, you haven't got a chance" she smiled.
"We do too!" Nami huffed, holding up a piece of paper. "These instructions say there's tons more attacks to try!" she exclaimed.
"I don't know how much I trust that piece of paper after those last two 'attacks' you attempted" I said.
"At least have some faith in my Clima Takt!" she snapped before realizing that it was missing from her grasp. Looking around she spotted it near Miss. Doublefinger's feet. "Ah! My Clima Takt, but how? When did you take it from me?"
"I didn't, you dropped it all on your own" Miss. Doublefinger stated.
"Give that back!" the navigator demanded.
"Sure, glad too, though I don't really care much for magic tricks. See, I have enough power to fight on my own without needing a hunk of junk like that" Miss. Doublefinger boasted. "Now both of you, be good girls and stay right where you are. That way I'll be able to kill you without too much pain."
"Wow, you're so generous" I sarcastically stated.
"I know" the woman smirked as I rolled my eyes. "Aw, does this show of yours have a second act?" she asked, unamused as she watched Nami prepare for another 'attack'.
"A boxing glove on a spring? Isn't that a little old fashion?" I asked when the boxing glove shot out of the weapon. Miss. Doublefinger only knocked it to the side as Nami weakly muttered to herself.
"Finger Stinger" the woman said as Nami screamed, whimpering when the spike only hit her cheek. But this was still enough to shake the orange haired woman as she took off running and took refuge behind a couple of barrels.
