"The concert went well." The Director said as he led Amara into the awaiting car.

"How many eggs was that?" Amara asked, pointing a delicate finger towards the X-Eggs that were being contained for transport to the labs.

"A hundred. Seems we had a few repeat fans and some that just weren't ready to come out." The Director was frowning, obviously not pleased with the number. "We still need more."

"Another concert?" Amara asked, already hating the idea of more work.

"No…something else." His expression hardened. "We'll need to take a risk sooner than I'd hoped."

The climbed into the car and the Director asked to be taken to Easter. Amara watched him, wondering just what he was thinking.

Let me out!

She sighed, frowning at the voice that filled her mind.

Oh shut up. It's my turn to be outside for a while, and you can go cry about it.

This isn't right! You can't just go stealing other people's eggs and making them X-Eggs! It's wrong and you know it Amara!

Like you're one to talk? You destroyed the Guardians' eggs without any remorse. I'm not doing anything different.

Amu fell silent and Amara smiled, sipping her soda. Soon enough they arrived at Easter and the Director led Amara down to the labs.

"Thought of anything yet?" She asked when she noticed his sudden smile.

"Let's go see Castiel later, shall we?" The Director veered off their original course towards the holding cells.

What does he want with Castiel?

Bitch if you don't know why would I?

As they walked, the Director pulled a pair of sunglasses from his pocket. "Be a dear and hold these for me. I may need you to use them on Castiel."

Amara did as told, but was just as confused as Amu. Her golden eyes, for one of the first times, weren't full of confidence. This wasn't the way to Castiel's holding Cell, that much she knew once they passed an open room.

Castiel was pacing back in forth in his cell, having tried in vain to get out for hours.

They'd done something to Amu, he was sure of it.

Once again he looked around the white room, holding only a bed, and the door that led to the bathroom. They'd thrown him in here yesterday and his only human contact was when they opened the tiny slot under the door to push in food.

For christ's sake he didn't even know what time it was!

He whirled around, ready to put up a fight when he heard the beep signaling the door was about to open.

He was surprised to see Amu, looking like a mess, as she panted. Truth be told she was exhausted as she'd had to run and open so many rooms before she finally found Castiel's room. With all the rooms looking the same she hadn't been able to take note of where he was, the video she'd seen a distant, blurry memory.

"Castiel!" Amu rushed over to him, arms wrapping around him as she looked up at him. "What are you doing here?"

"Amu, they locked me up in here. Are you okay?"

She tilted her head, confused. "Yeah…why wouldn't I be okay? You're the one I was worried about!"

"Dr. Davidoff, he said they were planning something, something you were training for. And that you wouldn't know until it was to late."

Amu shook her head, still confused, as she lifted up her glasses to let him see her wide amber eyes. "We need to get you out of here. Come one, follow me. Act calm."

Castiel nodded, trusting her, and let her lead him out of the room.

"I took out the cameras so I could come see you, I was so worried." Amu confessed, leading down a hall. "But you're right. I looked into Davidoff's office and found the video of them saying exactly what you told me. That was yesterday and I couldn't sleep." She hesitated. "It's two in the morning, it's the only time I could get around them."

"We need to get out of here." Amu nodded.

"I know. I...I want to go back home. My aunt can protect us in the American branch. They found weird stuff in my pills and...and all the X-Eggs...I don't know what they're planning but they're planning something horrible Castiel, I know it. All I know is it's got something to do with the X-Eggs. The Director has two goals and he's less than a hundred away from the first. They want to merge the eggs and create something. I don't know what."

Finally the elevator was in sight and wordlessly they started sprinting. But half way down the hall, Amu stopped, collapsing on her knees.

"Amu?" Castiel asked, skidding to a halt. She was struggling to take off her purse and threw it his way.

"Take it." She said, gasping for breath. Castiel took the bag, it's contents having open.

Needles.

Half a dozen needles and vials were in her bag.

"What the fuck is all this?" Castiel demanded as he held the bag.

"Sedatives...for her..." Amu collapsed on the floor, clutching her head as she let out a silent scream.

"Get..out..." Amu hissed. But Castiel made the mistake of stepping closer.

"Stupid bitch." She said, calming down as she rose to her knees.

Castiel realized his mistake when he saw those golden eyes. But he had a chance, neither of them had their Charas.

"Amu-"

"It's Amara, asshole." She raised a hand and that was when Castiel noticed the darkness behind them move. "Get him."

He ran for the elevator as the X-Eggs shot forward. At his approach it opened, and he slammed the button for the doors to close.

Fuck it's like one of those stupid moments in movies, Castiel thought.

Luckily the doors were made for getaways and were closing faster than he'd thought. Until he realized the X-Eggs weren't coming for him anymore. They'd stopped, forming a wall just behind Amu as some floated around her, drawing closer and then away every time she spoke.

"Get out of my head!" Amu screamed, Amber eyes shut tight.

"As if! I'm in control!" Her eyes snapped open to reveal golden irises that glared as the floor.

"Castiel! Get out of here!"

"Castiel! Get back here!"

The doors shut on a shocked looking pinkette as Castiel, back pressed against the wall, sank to the floor.

That was impossible.

How on earth had both voices been heard at the same time?

When the doors dinged open at the Lobby, Ciel slowly walked out, stopping when he found Blade, his Chara, passed out on the floor in front go the doors.

Just what was happening here?

Castiel didn't know it, he thought he'd escaped, but he didn't know it was all planned.

Planned out to the smallest of details.

Amu's escape, his own escape, everything was planned.

The Director smiled as Castiel walked out, going to the elevator himself and inserting his keycard to get to the lab floor.

Amu, and Amara in her mind, lay there and were waiting down there, surrounded by his precious X-Eggs had already begun their purpose, had already begun their poisoning.

He smiled at the thought.

Less than a month until the end.

He'd been manipulating the data, lying about how many X-Eggs had been collected.

And there was a reason why he'd allowed the Guardians's Eggs be destroyed rather than turned. He knew they'd be brought back soon enough.

Amu would make sure of it.

And by tomorrow night there would no longer be Amu and Amara.

There would only be just Amara.

And just Amu.
