author note: Sorry, sorry, I'm late. I finished writing this on Sunday afternoon, and as I said on my tumblr, I was going to post about 3 - 4 PM of the same day. Unfortunately, I had a problem with my internet connection and I was not able to post it. I solved the problem though, and the chapter will be posted as usual. Sorry for that issue.

1987. Fredbear's Family Diner. Freddy and Fredbear were on the main stage, practicing singing. They did this every day, not only for training but also because they enjoyed it.

Fredbear put his hand on Freddy's shoulder.

"Very good, Freddy!" Said Fredbear, smiling.

"Thanks!" Responded a young Freddy Fazbear. He admired Fredbear like a hero, a big brother or even like a father. The children loved him and he was respected by everyone.

Freddy remembered his first day at the pizzeria. Fredbear and SpringBonnie were the only animatronics at the time, until Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy were unboxed and activated. As Fredbear and SpringBonnie already occupied the main stage, a secondary stage was built in other room for the new animatronics, and Foxy was put in the pirate cove.

Often Fredbear and SpringBonnie were worn by employees as costumes to get off stage and entertain the customers.

When the animatronics were all alone at night, they liked getting out from their positions and meeting each other. On the first night, Fredbear and SpringBonnie went to greet the newcomers in the secondary stage room.

"Hello, novices!" Said Fredbear, waving at the new robots, who were still on the stage.

"I am Fredbear and this is my friend SpringBonnie. What are your names?" He asked.

"My name is Freddy. Freddy Fazbear. I'm the singer of the band" Responded Freddy, smiling.

"I'm Bonnie the bunny. Guitarist of the band. Even though my name is Bonnie I'm a boy, ok?" Said Bonnie, holding his red guitar. The same that would be used by Toy Bonnie and Freddy Jr. in the future.

"I am Chica the chicken! I love pizza! Also... I'm the back up singer of the band!" Said Chica.

"Chica, we agreed you had to talk about being the back up singer before the pizza!" Said Freddy.

"Don't be silly, Freddy! Pizza comes before everything!" Responded Chica.

"Uh... Are you hungry, Chica? I can show you the kitchen" Said SpringBonnie, pointing at a door on the other side of the dining area. Chica opened a big smile of excitement.

"Yes! Yes! I'm hungry! I want pizza!" She said. Chica followed SpringBonnie to the kitchen while the others watched.

"So, Do you have any songs to play? Your stage isn't open yet, is it?" Asked Fredbear.

"No, it's not. And actually, we do have some songs, isn't it, Bonnie?" Responded Freddy.

"Huh? Oh... yes, yes!" He responded, distracted. He was polishing his guitar with his finger.

"I would like to listen to it!" Said Fredbear, smiling.

"Ok, I guess... Ready, Bonnie?" Asked Freddy.

"Wait, are we gonna play without Chica? She is also part of the band!" Asked Bonnie.

"She's eating pizza with SpringBonnie right now! Let's just play a quick song while they're not here!" Said Fredbear.

"Well... if they don't mind... Then ok, let's play..." Said Bonnie.

Freddy and Bonnie started playing, making Fredbear's face go serious, as if he was judging their performance. Freddy and Bonnie were both really concentrated and even nervous to play, as this was the first time they had ever played for someone. After they were done playing the song, they noticed Fredbear, SpringBonnie and Chica were standing in front of the secondary stage, applauding them. Foxy was peeking from the pirate cove.

"You two got potential! Specially you, Freddy!" Said Fredbear. Freddy was flattered.

"We do? Thank you..." Said Freddy.

"... But you still have a lot to learn" He completed. Bonnie nodded, humble. Freddy, however, got mad.

"What do you mean we still have a lot to learn?!" He asked.

"Hey! Easy, friend! I'm not criticizing! I'm just saying you can become even better!" Said Fredbear. Freddy calmed down.

"... Me and SpringBonnie here have been playing in this restaurant for quite a long time now. If you want, I can teach you how to sing better!" Continued Fredbear, smiling. Freddy started to think.

"Hmm... very well... but I expect nothing but the best" Said Freddy. Fredbear put his hand over Freddy's shoulder.

"I always do my best! Be sure about that!" Responded Fredbear, smiling. He took Freddy to the main stage, where they started to sing. Fredbear taught Freddy everything he knew.

During their breaks between the practicing and the actual presentations to the children, Fredbear and Freddy started to talk. They became good friends. It was when Freddy started respecting Fredbear as if he was a big brother or even a father.

Freddy and Fredbear were sitting on the main stage, taking a break from the practice.

"You're getting very good, Freddy! Maybe one day you'll become better even than me!" Said Fredbear, smiling, putting his hand over Freddy's shoulder again.

"This day is closer than you think, old bear!" Joked Freddy.

"I... hope it does" Fredbear suddenly looked distracted, as if he was sad.

"Are you ok?" Asked Freddy, worried.

"Hmm? Oh, yes. Yes... I'm just... thinking. You know, your last name..."

"Fazbear?"

"Yes. It actually means a lot more than you think!" Said Fredbear.

"It does? Care to explain why?" Asked Freddy.

"Well... It all starts back in 1983, when a cartoonist called John Fazbear was creating some new characters. Actually, he was asked by to create these characters for an animated show that would introduce them as the mascots for this restaurant"

"So is that why the name is so important? Because it's the same last name of our creator?" Interrupted Freddy.

"Please, don't interrupt me, Freddy. This is very important" Warned Fredbear. He was not joking. Freddy noticed his seriousness and became quiet.

"Sorry..."

"It's ok, my friend... Continuing... He had a wife and they were about to have a child. For what I know, the baby would be born in a matter of days! So he designed these characters... Us... Not only for the company. He was also creating something he thought his son would like when he grew up. He based the name of the characters on his family. His wife, called Francisca, became Chica, which is a nickname for this name and it's alliterative with chicken. And his son would be named Frederick, or Freddy, another nickname" Continued Fredbear.

"So I'm named after our creator's son?" Asked Freddy, looking happy, honored.

"Yes. But here is why this name is so important: The baby died before it was born!" Said Fredbear. Freddy became shocked.

"W-What?!" He gasped, trying to recover from the shock. Fredbear continued speaking.

"After this happened, John wanted you to be the main character of the show. Freddy, but the company refused. They said the main character shouldn't carry his name. He created SpringBonnie and me just as a different color version of you and Bonnie. This the company accepted and the cartoon was a success. A short time after that, SpringBonnie and I were built.

Unfortunately, his wife got a disease that got her and her baby killed. The company then accepted to make you, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy not only for pity, but also because they thought it would be easier to sell merchandising of the show in the restaurant if there were more characters" Finished Fredbear. Freddy was speechless.

"I'm sorry for talking about this with you, boy, but I feel like someone else should know..." Said Fredbear.

"So I'm the only family he have left?" Asked Freddy. Fredbear became confused.

"I think so... why do you ask?" Asked Fredbear, confused.

"I feel sorry for Mr. Fazbear. It's an outrage that they didn't make the character based on his son the main character! They refused to make a last tribute to his family! But I won't let it happen again! I will be the best character this restaurant ever had! For Mr. Fazbear!" Said Freddy, getting up. Fredbear was surprised by Freddy's reaction, but he agreed. It was really an outrage that the company refused to make a tribute to the son of the creator of the characters they used in the tv show and in the restaurant.

"You're right. What they did is wrong. We should respect our creator's wish! I will help you becoming popular among the children! For Mr. Fazbear! For the Fazbear family!" Said Fredbear, also getting up.

The following days, Fazbear taught Freddy how to sing even better. When the employees wore him, the only part of the day he could get off stage but the night, he talked to them about Freddy.

"Hello, little fella! Do you know my friend Freddy Fazbear? He sings with his band on the other room!"

"What? Why is he talking about this?" Thought the employee wearing Fredbear, confused.

This employee told the manager of the restaurant about what we heard.

"Mr. Cawthon..." He called,

"I've already told you to call me Scott" Responded the manager.

"Anyway, the Fredbear suit, it was acting weird... He was speaking about Freddy. I thought these robots weren't supposed to speak when we were wearing them..." Continued the employee, looking nervous.

"Ok, I'll give it a check" Said the manager. Hours later, when the restaurant was closing, he went to the main stage to talk to Fredbear.

"Good Evening, pal! Isn't the restaurant closing right now?" Asked Fredbear in a nice tone.

"Fredbear... One of the employees told me you were not off when he was wearing you" Said the manager, in a serious tone. Fredbear got nervous.

"Oh! About that... uuh..." He smiled embarrassed.

"I said it was not a good idea" Said SpringBonnie, rolling her eyes.

"Yes, it isn't a good idea! Don't you know it's dangerous for a human to wear a springlock suit while the animatronic is on? One twitch can make the endoskeleton snap and close with the human inside!" Said the manager, scolding Fredbear. He looked guilty, but kept talking.

"There's... well... a reason for me to do that" He said.

"What is it?"

"I wanted to tell them about Freddy! I wanted to make Freddy the main character!" Said Fredbear. The manager looked confused.

"Huh?! Why would you want that? Don't you like being the main character of this restaurant?" Asked the manager.

"Of course I do. But it was the wish of my creator, John Fazbear! He wanted Freddy to be the main character because of his son who passed away! I wish the heads of the company respected that!" Said Fredbear. The manager started to think.

"I think I heard about this. But I thought it was only a story invented by the employees..." Said the manager.

"...Anyway, I think you and Freddy are right. Even knowing about everything that would have to be changed for Freddy to become the main attraction" He completed.

"If you could help our cause we would be grateful! Really!" Said Fredbear, smiling.

"Let's... wait for some time. For what I know this is the first day you told the children about Freddy, is that correct?" Asked the manager.

"Yes, I started today" Responded the yellow bear.

"Then if you want to take this seriously, stop telling the children while someone is wearing you, which is risky for the employee and the restaurant's reputation, ok? Do this while you're fully controlling your suit, on the stage" Said the manager. Fredbear nodded.

"If Freddy happen to get a lot more popular than you and SpringBonnie, I think I can convince the owner of the restaurant to make you switch places" Said the manager. Fredbear nodded again.

"Thank you, mister" Said Fredbear. The manager left, leaving the two yellow animatronics alone.

"You surely care for Freddy, huh?" She asked.

"Hehe. He's like a student, an apprentice to me. I do wish one day he and his crew become even more loved than us" Said Fredbear.

"But not too much, right?! Or they will throw us away!" Said SpringBonnie, joking. They laughed.

Fredbear and Freddy reunited to practice singing again. Before they started, though, Fredbear told Freddy about the help of the manager.

"Nice! So from now on it will be easier for us!" Exclaimed Freddy, happy. He shook Fredbear's hand.

"I really have to thank you for this! If it weren't you, Fredbear, I would still be a mediocre singer without an objective in mind!" Said Freddy, while violently shaking Fredbear's hand. Making him become dizzy.

"Whoa... well... that's nothing, friend! You'll take my place one day, so you have to be better!" Said Fredbear, nervous from Freddy's statements. The two bears started the practice.

The following weeks Fredbear did everything he could to make the children get interested in Freddy's band or in going to the secondary stage room to eat a piece of pizza. His efforts were worth it, since in one month and a half the children went to the restaurant looking for Freddy more than for Fredbear.

The manager nervously entered the restaurant owner's office.

"E-Excuse me?" He said.

"You're the new manager, aren't you? The secretary told me you were coming. Please take a sit" Said the owner of the restaurant.

"New manager? But I've been working here for 6 months!" Thought the manager. He sat on a chair anyway.

"So, Mr...?" Asked the owner of the restaurant.

"Cawthon! Scott Cawthon!" The manager presented himself, shaking the owner's hand.

"...Mr. Cawthon! What did you want to talk to me that you couldn't solve yourself?" Asked the owner.

"It's... uh... the animatronics, sir. I heard that their creator wanted Freddy Fazbear to be the main character instead of Fredbear. So I wanted to know if it would be possible for the bands to switch places" Asked the manager, really nervous. The owner of the restaurant stared at him for some seconds with a serious face. He opened a drawer from his table. and pulled a some sheets with charts from inside of it.

"I'll be frankly, Mr. Cawthon, I wanted to do this as well, but the head of marketing said it would be terrible for the business if we put a recently created character under the spotlights without testing it's popularity first. Fortunately, Freddy is really popular! Look at these charts!" Said the owner of the restaurant, handing the charts to the manager.

"Freddy's popularity... it's raising quite fast!" Commented the manager, surprised, looking at the chart.

"Now look at the other chart"

"We're selling a lot of pizzas as well?!" The manager was surprised.

"I've talked to some of the employees. Looks like the chicken is telling everyone about how good the pizzas are" Said the owner.

"But why are you showing me these charts, sir?" Asked the manager.

"Well, Mr. Cawthon, you asked for Freddy to become the main character, but it seems that if we do so, to keep our sales high we must bring the whole band as well" Explained the owner of the restaurant.

"That seems fine to me" Responded the manager.

"Yes. It's not exactly what Mr. Fazbear wanted, but he will be very happy to know that the character e created to be the main character of the restaurant. Also, because the pizzas are selling extremely well now, we're thinking of becoming a pizzeria" Said the owner.

"I'm happy to know this, sir" Said the manager.

"But before we do it, there's a birthday party scheduled to next week" Said the owner of the restaurant.

Some time later, the manager went back to the restaurant to tell Freddy and Fredbear about the news.

"So we did it? Freddy will be the main character?" Asked Fredbear, excited.

"Yes, actually, the whole band will be moved to this stage, while you and SpringBonnie will be put in the secondary stage, but you will only be moved next week, as there is one more birthday party scheduled" Explained the manager. Fredbear nodded, really happy.

The manager also told Freddy and the rest of the band about the changes that would be made. Freddy jumped in happiness.

"Finally! My efforts were worth it!" He exclaimed, with a big smile on the face.

"And we will become a pizzeria" Completed the manager, making Chica become speechless.

"P-pizzeria?!" She whispered.

"Are you ok, Chica?" Bonnie asked, worried.

"Pizza! We're going to work with pizza! I'm gonna eat all the pizzas!" Chica yelled, happy, jumping around.

The week passed slower than Freddy could wait. He was really excited to the day he would be moved. On the day before the party, after everyone had left, he went to the main stage. He could see the whole dining area from there. The wooden tables with polka dots and stripes tablecloths. The balloons floating, tied to the walls, to the tables, to pretty much everything and posters with Fredbear and SpringBonnie's faces everywhere.

"Soon it will be my face everywhere, hehe..." thought Freddy. He felt Fredbear putting his hand over Freddy's shoulder again.

"It feels great up here, doesn't it?" He asked. Freddy nodded, excited.

The big day finally came. The children were playing and eating pizzas. Most of them were on the secondary stage room. Fredbear and SpringBonnie were still playing their songs, though.

All of sudden, a boy wearing a black and gray striped shirt entered the room crying. Fredbear recognized him. It was the boy having the birthday. After him, four teenagers wearing plastic masks of Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy came. They surrounded the crying child.

"Wow, your brother is kind of a baby, isn't he?" Asked one of them.

"It's hilarious" Other said.

"Why don't we help him get a closer look? He will love it!" The boy with the Foxy mask said.

"No! Please!" begged the crying boy.

"Come on guys, let's give this little man a lift. He wants to get close and personal!" Continued the boy with the Foxy mask. They held the crying child by his arms, taking him closer to the main stage.

"Wait, I remember this boy. He was running away from me some days ago!" Thought Fredbear, worried about the child being carried. Nothing he could do but watch, since he was not allowed to get off stage during the day unless someone was wearing him.

"No! I don't want to go!" Yelled the boy.

"You heard the little man! He wants to get even closer! Hahaha!" Said the boy with the Foxy mask, as they carried him. They stood in front of the main stage.

"Hey guys, I think the little man said he wants to give Fredbear a big kiss!" Said the Foxy mask boy.

"On THREE! One... two..." He started the countdown. They shove the crying child inside Fredbear's mouth. The little boy was struggling to get out of there. Fredbear tried to say something.

"What are you doing?! Stop..." As he moved his jaw, he bit the crying child's head. He was not moving. The four teenagers, realizing what they had done, ran away, except for the Foxy mask one. He removed his mask.

"Little brother?" He looked desperate, trying to pull the boy from Fredbear's mouth. Fredbear also didn't know what to do. He turned to SpringBonnie.

"Don't tell Freddy" He said with a muffled voice. SpringBonnie was shocked. She quickly recovered from the shock and nodded. Not knowing exactly what to do, she went to the pirate cove.

"Maybe he can help..." She thought.

In the secondary stage room, the show was interrupted by the screams of horror of the people seeing the body of the crying child in the other room. It was a chaos. The employees blocked the entrance to the main stage room and called the police. The building had to be evacuated. Hours later, when the mess had been cleaned. The police took Fredbear away. Before they could do it, though, SpringBonnie could talk to him.

"Hey, are you ok? I know it's a stupid question, but..." She started talking.

"Just... don't tell Freddy... He doesn't need to know who did this... For his own good" Said Fredbear with a sad face.

"What will they do to you?!" She asked, worried.

"I don't know... Probably scrap me" Said Fredbear. SpringBonnie started to cry.

"N-No! They can't do that! You're like a brother... Like a father to all of us!" She said. Fredbear calmly wiped her tears.

"Lady... It has been a privilege playing with you tonight" Said Fredbear with a sad smile. She hugged him.

"We will always remember you!" She said. The police took Fredbear away. Leaving SpringBonnie alone sitting on the main stage.

"Aye. We will all miss him" Said Foxy. SpringBonnie didn't notice him approaching.

"Foxy... I don't know how to thank you for..." She started speaking, but was interrupted by the fox.

"It be nothin'... I also think we should respect Fazbear's wish" He said.

When she told Freddy, SpringBonnie didn't expect him to be that angry.

"WHAT?! THAT FOX BITE A CHILD?!" He yelled, surprised and angry. SpringBonnie nervously nodded.

"A-and now they're probably going to take us away now... I don't know" Continued SpringBonnie. Freddy tried to run to the pirate cove. But Bonnie held him.

"LET ME GO! HE WILL PAY! HE RUINED EVERYTHING!" Freddy shouted.

"Calm down, Freddy! This isn't going to solve anything!" Said Bonnie. Chica and SpringBonnie also had to hold Freddy by the arms to prevent him from attacking Foxy.

"HE RUINED EVERYTHING! HE RUINED EVERYTHING..." Freddy stopped screaming and started to cry. He gave up on trying to attack Foxy. Freddy sat on the secondary stage and covered his face. He didn't want the others to see him crying.

1993, the present. Freddy remembered what happened almost 10 years ago.

"What have I become?" He though.

"When I was young, I thought it was everything for my creator... and for Fredbear... but in the end... I'm just arrogant... selfish... unlikeable... Exactly what I didn't want to be" He continued.

"Oh gosh what have I done to my friends? To my son?! They will probably never forgive me!" Thought Freddy, covering his face again.

"What if we did?" A voice came from the door, getting Freddy's attention.

"Jr?" He asked. Jr. opened the back room door. With him, Chipper, Nibbles and Honey.

"Children... I'm sorry... I'm so sorry..." Said Freddy. Jr. hugged him.

"It's ok, dad. Nobody is born knowing everything, specially how to raise a child" Said Jr. Freddy Sr. hugged him back.

"Aaw, what a happy ending!" Said Nibbles.

"Wait, is it over?" Asked Chipper, confused. Honey grabbed his hand, blushing again.

"Well... Jr. and Nibbles are together, we are together, Mr. Freddy is sorry for what he did but was forgiven... This looks like a happy ending to me..." She said. Chipper smiled, hugging her.

"Yeah, you're right" He said.

The CEO paused the tape.

"Mr. Cawthon!" He yelled.

"Yes, sir?" Asked the manager.

"How didn't we make a soap opera out of these security tapes yet?!" Asked the CEO.

"This is surely a good source for one" Thought the manager.

"Now seriously, for what I can see, the animatronics are getting less and less dangerous with time. I think it would have no problem for them to walk again" Said the CEO. The manager was surprised.

"R-really, sir?!" He asked excited. He didn't know what to do. He was really happy.

"Yes. For now on, they will be able to walk again" Exclaimed the CEO. The manager jumped from happiness.

"YES! FINALLY!" He yelled, happy. The CEO became surprised by the manager losing his composure.

The manager couldn't feel happier. His dream had finally come to reality. For the animatronics, they kept entertaining the children as they were made to do. And no child ever forgot the one restaurant where the animatronics were alive.
