Chapter 56

After receiving the location from White Fang, via Blue, Fauna had headed straight through the portal to The Forest of Feelings. The cousins were nowhere to be seen, but that wasn't that odd. She figured they were just all in Care-a-Lot, yet again. She snickered as she thought back on the countless times Swift Heart had complained over the years that they were forever going there, rather than the Bears coming to them. As she flew over Care-a-Lot however, what she saw made the smile leave her face. "Looks like Swifty might get her wish." Pulling her wings in she landed on the first solid piece of cloud she could, whinnying as she did so to get some ones attention. "Hello! Where are you guys!"

"Most of them are at Take Care's, the others are doing their best to repair the damage Soul Heart caused," Independent Bear said, having flash stepped to Fauna's side right after she landed.

"Soul Heart did this?" Fauna asked in half disbelief. "Where is she now? Were you guys able to chase her off?" Her gaze drifted over the destroyed homes.

"Love Heart scared her off when he figured out she can't kill anyone." Seeing Fauna's look he continued, "What I mean is that she seems physically incapable of inflicting lethal injury to anyone. Love Heart was badly hurt from one of her attacks and when approached her he didn't even have to dodge the attacks she threw at him, they all went wide and," he pointed to the still intact homes, "she didn't attack the houses where the expecting mothers were waiting out the battle."

"Damn...crazy." Remembering why she was here she shook her head to focus, "White Fang and Aurora found Ren and Nova. So we can go rescue them."

Indy sighed, "Might be unfortunate timing, depending on how well Guidance can heal everyone who is going to be fighting."

Fauna scowled, "How bad are they? And where are they?"

"I don't know the full assessment, a couple broken bones, Anger Heart was unconscious and a couple more were bleeding rather badly, I had my leg and arm broken. They're recovering in Take Care's."

"I'll go over there and tell them the good news. I don't want to wait much longer though, just so you know. I want my brother out of there!" she said, stamping her foot in emphasis.

"I understand. You should speak with Love Heart then," Indy replied. "I'm going back to help with the reconstruction. We're hoping the Rainbow Rescue platform survived the hall's collapse." Without another word, Indy flash stepped away.

Fauna scoffed as she went in search of Love Heart. "If that thing did survive a natural disaster, I know a certain bear that is going to pull his fur out."

"There, that's the last of it." Guidance Heart's hands stopped glowing and she collpased back on to a nearby chair.

Love Heart flexed the arm Guidance had just finished healing, "Still hurts a little but it's better than before, thanks Guidance." The green bear slid off the exam table, "How many do you have left to heal?"

"There's a few more non-combatants, but everyone who can fight is healed," Take Care replied. "Though I wouldn't recommend you go back to battle anytime soon unless absolutely necessary."

Fauna came in to Take Care's just as Guidance finished talking. "Unfortunately that isn't going to work. See we found Ren and Nova, and I'm leaning towards getting them like...now."

Guidance's eyes went wide in surprise, "What? How?" she asked.

"Nova was able to contact Aurora and from there she and White Fang did a locator spell. So we have the location for the tower and all we need is to go get them." Fauna informed her while looking Love Heart over. "You seem fine to me."

"As far as injuries go, yes I'm fine but I'm still sore and I still need to rest to get back to full strength," Love Heart replied. "And even if we know where the tower is we don't know what's waiting for us. We can't just go rushing in blindly, we need a plan of attack not to mention the time for us to rest and recuperate and find a way to get there without immediately alerting the Shadow Magi to our approach. If we fly to the tower we'll just be big targets from the moment they spot us to the moment we land and if we attack from the outside we risk collapsing it on top of Renegade and Nova."

Fauna's response was to flatten her ears back and snort. "I will give you all three days to figure out a way to get in and to rest up. The fact Soul can't kill is the only thing keeping me here right now. But immortals don't do well exposed to gold for long periods of time. So after 3 days I'm going in with or without you guys."

Love Heart's gaze hardened but not towards Fauna, "We can go as early as tomorrow if I can get some information. Can you take me to speak with Aurora, Fauna?"

She nodded, "Yea if that will get things moving."

Love Heart nodded, "It will." He turned to Take Care, "Let Confidence know I'm going to Pegasus Falls and I'll be back before too long."

"Alright," Take Care replied. "Guidance, how do you feel?" she asked, turning to the blue raccoon.

"Tired, I think I'm done healing for the day," Guidance replied.

"That's fine, you should get some rest," Take Care acknowledged as Love Heart and Fauna left the clinic.

"What do you need to ask Aurora anyway?" Fauna asked as they walked to the portal.

"I need to see if she can contact Nova again. If she knows anything about the tower's layout, number of floors and such, that will make planning our attack much easier," Love Heart replied.

"That should be easy enough. Since Nova got out of her restraints she should be able to use all her magic." Fauna told him.

"How did she manage that?" Love Heart asked his eyes and mouth wide in surprise, "I though gold paralysed unicorns."

"It does. Apparently she used some elementalism to burn through the rope. Wonder who she learned that from?" Fauns rolled her eyes with a smile.

Love Heart smiled back, "I didn't know she'd progressed that far, and I honestly didn't think her mana would still flow enough when she as in contact with gold to do any elementalism."

Fauna just shrugged, "Yeah well she did it so now you know. I know you tried to teach me it back when I was touring with you guys but I definitely wasn't great at it. At all. So clearly Nova gets it."

"Everyone has different talents, yours is shifting and elementalism is mine, but we both need to be leaders at the worst of times," Love Heart said as the portal opened and they stepped through.

She shook her head, "Crazy. I never would have thought I'd ever be seen as a leader. I was always just the problem child growing up."

"Well if you stay with Blue you're going to have to be a leader of some sort someday." Love Heart's smile faded. "Which way to White Fang and Aurora's home?"

"This way." She pointed off to the north. "But it would be faster if we flew there so hop on."

"Thanks Fauna," Love Heart jumped up on Fauna's back and she took off.

"Alright Lotsa, 1, 2, 3!" Brave Heart and Lotsa Heart pushed the piece of Hall of Heart's ceiling over and out of the way. "There we go!" Brave Heart wiped the sweat from his forehead and they turned to look over the rainbow rescue beam

"Wow, it's still in one piece, and that's the truth," Lotsa stated as he looked over the machine.

"Well at least Grumpy and Bright Heart will be happy." Brave Heart laughed.

Champ laughed from where he was sweeping up cracked red chunks that had once been a wall. "Figures. The thing used to break on a perfectly day for no reason and then when the building comes down around it, totally fine."

"Well at least that's one less thing we have to worry about fixing," Brave Hart sighed.

"Yeah, one item out of a hundred." Finishing his section Champ began bagging the stuff he had swept up.

Harmony and Cheer came in carrying food and drinks for the guys, "Think you guys can take a break for a second. You've been at it for a while." Cheer told them.

Champ didn't need any further prompting. Wiping his forehead he called to Brave Heart and Lotsa, "Hey guys, food trucks coming through."

"Great, Ah need some refreshments." Brave Heart grinned as he approached his wife, "And a lovelier server I couldn't ask for." He gave her a kiss as he took a drink from Harmony.

"We aim to please at Cafe Fix It." Harmony replied while handing him a take-out container as well. "Treat Heart and Gloria hit up that deli in New York with the rockin sandwiches." Looking around the destroyed Hall she shook her head, "Man, this place is trashed yo."

"An apt assessment," Independent Bear said as he came to grab his food. "I'm no construction expert but we may need to simply demolish what's left of the hall and rebuilt it from the ground up, but I'll have to ask Grumpy about that."

Cheer's face fell, "Tear down the Hall? Really?"

Champ rested a hand on her shoulder, holding half his sandwich in the other, "Babe it's mostly gone anyway."

"I know. It's just, hard to hear it like that. The rest of the Hall of Hearts is going to be torn down."

Harmony too looked sad now, "Wow. That's deep. We've had some jammin' times in here." One of her hands came to rest on the side of her belly as her baby shifted.

"I can go get Grumpy to see what he thinks," Indy offered.

Cheer handed him one of the sandwich bags, "Here take this. He is already starting to rebuild some of the houses and Tender Heart is driving him crazy. Food can never hurt your chances with that bear." Champ and Harmony laughed in agreement, having grown up around the grouchy bear.

"Thanks I will." Indy took the sandwich and flash stepped away.

"We better get going too. We still have food to drop off." Cheer said, leaning forward to give Champ a kiss goodbye. He was mid chew and had mustard on his mouth making Cheer laugh, "Take it easy Champ. The sooner you finish the sooner you have to get back to work."

"Good point. Thanks for the food hun." She gently wiped the mustard away before kissing him.

Love Heart hopped off Fauna's back as they landed at White Fang and Aurora's igloo. "Can I just walk in?" he asked.

"Would you just walk into someone's home?" She asked him snidely. Facing the igloo she called, "Aurora, Fang, I brought Love Heart to speak with you."

White Fang's voice answered her, "Come in."

Fauna nodded to Love Heart, "Now you're good."

"Thanks," Love Heart said before he ducked inside. "Thanks for seeing me."

White Fang nodded and Aurora smiled. "Since we didn't call you hear, I can only assume you have something to discuss with us?" Aurora asked him.

Love Heart nodded, "I do. Aurora can you contact Nova? I need to speak with her. I need any information she can give me about the layout of the tower where she's being held captive so I can plan a rescue

Aurora blinked then nodded with a slight smile, "I can do that. Just give me a moment."

White Fang moved away so Aurora could concentrate. Looking to the igloo entrance he called, "Would you like to eavesdrop from out there Fauna or join us in here where it's warmer."

Her hooves clicking up the igloo entrance were his answer. Coming into the space she smirked at him, "Aww poor Fangy. Do you not want to be left without someone to talk to?"

He scoffed, "Don't be glib with me missy. Next time I will let your feathers turn to ice."

It only took a moment for Aurora to open the mental link to Nova. 'Nova, can you hear me?' she asked.

'Aurora?' Nova asked, 'Why are you calling me?'

"Place your hand on my horn," Aurora requested. As Love Heart did so she sent another message to Nova, 'Love Heart is here and he would like to speak with you.'

'Love Heart?" The tone of Nova's thoughts showed surprise.

'I'm here,' Love Heart sent his message, 'We're planning a rescue but I would like some information about the tower first.'

'I'll try, but I can't promise much,' Nova replied.

'I'll try to keep it simple then. How many floors are there, where are you right now and where is Renegade?' Love Heart asked.

Nova thought for a moment, 'I'm at the top of the tower and there are six floors, Renegade's at the bottom.'

'How long can you stay hidden?' Aurora cut in.

'The invisibility spell I cast lasts a day without concentration, I can recast it before it wears off if I have to,' Nova replied.

'Thanks, that's all I need to know,' Love Heart replied as he took his hand away from Aurora's horn and she closed the link. "Thanks Aurora."

"It was nothing as long as it helps save her," Aurora replied with a smile.

"So do you know how you are going in then? What did Nova say?" White Fang asked.

Fauna only had one question, "Did she say if Ren was okay?"

"Sorry, Fauna, we didn't ask that," Aurora apologized.

"I'm starting to get an idea." Love Heart turned to White Fang, "White Fang, is it possible to create a temporary portal to where Nova is?"

White Fang shook his head, "Unless I have exact coordinates or someone who has been there, the portal would be very unstable."

"We could use that... Rainbow Rescue Beam machine," Aurora spoke up. "We've done some work and we could use it to get those exact coordinates and use the machine to act as an anchor for our side of the portal, but even then it wouldn't stay open for very long, maybe five minutes at most."

White Fang thought it over, "I suppose that could work if we could integrate the magic and technology properly, but that is always dicey."

"We could run it by Grumpy. He and Bright Heart know that machine and its capabilities better than anyone," Fauna suggested.

Love Heart nodded, "sounds good. Would you mind coming back to Care-a-Lot to work on that today? I want to rescue Renegade and Nova as soon as possible."

"I need some time to get materials to make the stones to integrate the magic to the machine, but I could manage it." Aurora looked to White Fang for his opinion.

"If you don't need me I could go ahead and try to get a stable anchoring spell down," he told her. "I don't want you doing more work then you have too."

Aurora smiled and nuzzled her mate, "Yes, Fang, thank you."

Licking her he said, "Take it easy and I will see you soon." To Fauna he said, "All right, back to rainbow and cloud land." Nodding she headed towards the door.

Aurora lifted several boxes off the shelves, "Good luck, Fang," she said as her mate followed after Fauna and Love Heart.

Opening the access hatch on the back of the platform Grumpy crawled inside. The outside had looked okay but he wanted to make sure nothing inside had been shaken loose. "So far everything looks okay Bright Heart."

"That's good." Bright Heart was going over the machine on the outside, "At least that's one more thing we won't have to repair."

"What about the hall itself?" Indy asked as he watched them working.

Scowling Grumpy backed out of the panel so he could look at Indy. "Well which would you like us to do first: make sure this is working, or rebuild the Hall? Along with all the other buildings I have to do." He had spent all day fixing things and attempting to teach his family members how to as well and he was getting sick of it faster than usual.

"The Rainbow Rescue Beam," Love Heart said as he, Fauna and White Fang approached the group, "We're going to need it soon."

"Yeah these two and Aurora re going to be doing some magical something or other on it." Fauna added. Seeing Grumpy she trotted up to him and began to inspect him, making sure he wasn't hurt from earlier.

Her nose whiskers tickled Grumpy making him laugh, "Lay off Fauna. I'm fine."

"What are you going to do with the rainbow rescue, White Fang?" Bright Heart asked, turning to the pegasus shaman.

He was looking the platform over, "I will be laying down an anchoring spell for a portal Love Heart wants to open."

"We found Renegade and Nova and we need to go get them as soon as possible." Love Heart looked over at Fauna, "Cause if we don't, Fauna said she's going to go alone."

Grumpy scowled, "Alone? That's absurd! You will do no such thing."

"If this takes forever hell yes I will." Fauna snorted, "All anyone wanted was for me to accept Renegade and now I'm the only one rushing to save him! Make up your minds already."

White Fang stopped his inspection, "Believe me Fiesty one, you are not the only person here who wants him back."

Love Heart crossed his arms, "We want to save him too, but we need a plan of attack, speaking of which: Fauna if you'd like to come with me, I'm going to gather our little rescue party and start putting this plan together."

"Sure. Unless of course Grumpy needs me to help with-"

She saw the blue bears brow furrow, meaning she got just the reaction she was hoping for. "I do not need you to help me with anything. Ever!"

She giggled and licked his cheek before joining Love Heart, "I'm all yours then."

"Alright. Thank you for your help, White Fang. Indy we'll need you too," Love Heart said.

Independent Bear nodded, "Of course." And he joined in with the two of them as they moved off to find the others.

"Now can one of you explain to me how exactly this thing works?" White Fang asked the two engineers. Grumpy groaned and crawled back into the panel, leaving Bright Heart to explain.

Confidence, Valiant, Defiant, Snowy, Guidance, Anger Heart, Swift Heart and Loyal Heart were still in the clinic's waiting room when Love Heart, Independent Bear and Fauna arrived.

"Is everyone alright?" Love Heart asked looking them over.

"Sore and tired but no longer hurt," Confidence replied.

"You were hurt?" Fauna asked Swift Heart.

"Just a few burns, no biggy. We are fine now. Why are you here?"

Fauna smirked, "We found Ren and Nova."

"You found them? How?" Snowy asked, he stood up fas the winced and shook his still sore leg.

"Nova got loose and called Aurora with her magic. White Fang's working on getting the portal working so we can warp to where she is soon," Love Heart explained.

"Should I go and help?" Guidance Heart stumbled through the door to the exam room and Anger Heart moved to catch her before she well.

"Easy, Guidance, just take a rest," the fox said softly as he guided her to a chair.

"Yeah we aren't going till tomorrow. Love Heart insisted I give you all that long to recuperate," Fauna said. Swift rested a hand on her shoulder, letting her know it would be okay.

"I was able to get in contact with Nova and I have a basic idea of what the home of the Shadow Magi is like, and I have a plan of attack," Love Heart spoke up. Confidence was instantly attentive and she nudged Valiant Heart who was starting to doze off.

"What kind of plan do you have?" Defiant Heart asked.

Love Heart retrieved a pencil and paper from Take Care's desk and drew a crude tower with a conical roof, then divided the drawing of the tower into five levels with a sixth in the roof. "The tower has six floors." He wrote 'Nova' in the attic space, "Nova said she's on the top floor and Renegade's in the bottom," he wrote Renegade in the lowest space, "and it safe to assume they know she escaped and that she's called us for help, so we won't have the element of surprise on our side."

"So then should we split our forces? Some go in from the top and another on the main floor and work their way down?" Swift Heart asked, looking the drawing over.

"Is the bottome floor a basement?" Indy asked.

"I don't know, but we can't split up because getting even one portal open where Nova is is going to be tricky," Love Heart replied. "The best idea we have is to warp in the top then work our way down, splitting off to fight each of the Shadow Magi as we encounter them. There's enough of us that at least one can get to where Renegade is being held to pull him out."

"You mean we need to fight them all?" Loyal Heart asked.

"Yes," Love Heart slammed his hand on the table, "We need to deal with the Shadow Magi before Soul Heart breaks this barrier on her inability to kill, there's no telling what kind of devastation she'll be able to create once she does so we need to try and end this now!"

"No worries there. I will be all too happy to deal with them." Fauna said, pawing briefly in her excitement.

Swift Heart nodded, "I agree. They have been a nuisance long enough. It's clear now not all of them were willing to change like Delay."

"Then each of us needs to pick a mark, w can't be fighting over who's going to fight who when we get to the tower," Love Heart said. "When you spot your mark, break off and go fight them and the others can continue on. Soul Heart is my mark."

"Do you think you can beat her?" Valiant Heart asked.

"Now that I know her weakness, it still won't be easy but I think I can kill Soul Heart," Love Heart replied.

"Well when the rest of us finish off our dance partners we can come lend you a hand." Swift Heart assured him cockily.

"Naturally I would like to take on my opposite." Loyal Heart voiced.

Swift Heart nodded, "Only fair. I'll do the honors of taking Serious Heart since Playful won't be joining us."

"I'll take on the eagle, Torrid I think her name was," Snowy said. "I... already had to fight Flare Heart and..."

"What?" Fauna asked.

"Her doll burned her to death," Snowy replied.

The pegasus flinched, "Well that's morbid. Talk about a slow way to go. I guess I'll take on the hyena. She should be easy enough."

"I'll go after that polar fire, fire against ice," Anger Heart grinned.

"I'm going after Blade Star then," Confidence looked up at Swift Heart, "Good call to go against Serious Heart."

She smiled, "Not that I don't already know that but what are you thinking?"

"I know you want to get back at Blade Star for what she did to you," Confidence replied.

"Well I'm going after Shatter Heart," Valiant Heart spoke up, "I have unfinished business with him from back in Wonderland too."

"That leaves me with Flash Heart Bear," Indy said.

"Well good, that is all figured out." Fauna approved.

Swift Heart nodded, "I would love to go after her but I know what my chances would be. Maybe I'll send Fauna in to tear off a chunk of her for my scrap book once you are done with her," she told Confidence.

"If she can," Confidence smirked.

"I don't think I can go," Defiant Heart said. Everyone turned to him and he continued, "I just can't fight them, I couldn't even put up a fight against Soul Heart so... I think I'm out of this fight."

"Thats fine," Love Heart said. "I would like you to grab Nova and get her back through the portal when we find her. Knowing Nova, she'll want to stay and fight even if she's weak."

Fauna nodded, "Yeah she will. But make sure she knows that she needs to be ready to heal Renegade since he is most likely going to be really weak from all the gold exposure."

"I can help with that too, once I've had some rest," Guidance offered.

"You should probably heal Nova when she comes back through," Love Heart interjected, "So we have more people ready to heal any injuries we have."

"If I don't watch out then you might put me out of work," Take Care said as he came in and began to go through his medical files.

"And would that really be such a bad thing? They have never poked me with a needle," Swift Heart teased their resident doctor.

"Well I can't heal disease, just speed natural healing or purge harmful magic from someone and I still need you to set bones and such so they heal properly," Guidance said.

"That's some comfort," Take Care smiled.

"And you are the expert on delivering babies. Which will be needed very soon in abundance," Loyal Heart reminded him.

Take Care laughed, "True. I will be standing by to treat any more severe injuries if you are planning this battle."

"We would appreciate that, thank you Take Care," Independent Bear said.

"I have a feeling there are going to be a few," Snowy said.

Fauna rolled her eyes at Snowy, "Maybe from your battle. But I plan to win mine without her leaving a mark on me."

"Until then, everyone get some rest and prepare for the battle tomorrow," Love Heart said. "I'm going to see if I can help White Fang, Grumpy and Bright Heart with the Rainbow Rescue Beam." Love Heart stood back and turned to head out the door and back to the ruins of the Hall of Hearts.

"We'll come too!" Swift Heart and Fauna said in unison as they went with Love Heart.

"Didn't Grumpy say he didn't want your help?" Love Heart asked Fauna.

She scoffed, "Oh he doesn't know what he wants."

Confidence jogged up to Love Heart's side, "I'm coming too, just in case," she said.

"I should go home to PRoud Heart and Trust," Loyal Heart said. "I can't imagine what she thinks happened today, having to look after Trust Heart during this attack."

"Yeah, Love-a-Lot'll want me home too, see ya," Valiant added as they left.

"I should go see Share then," Snowy said.

"I'll take Guidance home," Anger Heart said as he got up and helped her out the door.

"I'll go home to Lotsa too," Defiant slumped out the clinic after the others.

"So that just leaves me," Indy said. "My home was destroyed and I don't have anyone to go to." His voice was level as he sat back down.

"You can stay here if you want. I live on the upper level," Take Care said.

Indy smiled, "Thanks Take Care."

"It's no problem, I might be up for a while to fill out these medical records," Take Care said.

Indy nodded. "So what's your story, Take Care?" Indy asked.

"My story?" Take Care looked up from his documents and stopped to think for a moment.

"Is something wrong?" Indy asked.

Take Care shook his head, "No, but no one ever really stops to talk to me about anything when they don't need help. As for my story..." he sat back in his chair. "Well I was raised on earth by human parents. They treated me well even though they had some trouble smoothing over their 'wierd son' with the rest of teh upper crust. When I was old enough I decided to got medical school and that's where True Heart and Noble Heart first contacted me. They told me about what I was and said they offered me a chance to join them, but I said I had to finish my schooling first. So a few years later, after I earned my medical degree I came to live here and I've been the doctor ever since."

"Not as exciting as what my life was like, but that is a nice story," Indy said. He sighed, "If only more humans were like your parents then maybe we wouldn't have to deal with the Shadow Magi like we are now. Do you ever speak to them?"

Take Care smiled, "I do, and I try to visit my parents and little sister whenever I can."

"you have a sister?" Indy was surprised.

"Not by blood. She's my parents' biological daughter," Take Care explained.

"Oh, I see," Indy nodded. "Is it hard living away from your original family."

"The Care Bears are my family too and it's not too different from what most children go through when they grow up and move away from home," Take Care said.

"I see," Indy nodded. "I should go get some sleep, good night, Take Care." Indy stood up and headed for the stairs, stopping to smile at the doctor as he went back to his medical files.

Back at the Hall, White Fang was glowing softly beside the platform as he lay down the foundation for Aurora's rocks. Bright Heart was watching fascinated as he also set about repairing some of the Hall's damaged electronics. Grumpy had finished checking over the platform and was now tearing down parts of the one remaining wall so he could figure out if any parts were salvageable.

Unfortunatley for him, the girls and Love Heart pushed through the debris a little too hard and knocked the ladder he was standing on. Yelping he grabbed onto the jagged wall top. "Hey, watch it down there!"

Swift Heart looked up at him "Babe what are you doing? It's too late to start on repairs here."

Scowling down at her he retorted, "Yeah I thought so too, but people seem to think I don't need things like sleep, or food, or water."

"Well as your wife, I over rule them so get down here and have a snickers or something. You're getting crabby."

Fauna snickered, "How on earth can you tell." Ignoring her Grumpy began to climb down.

"Are things going well?" Love Heart asked, not to anyone in particular.

"I think so. White Fang hasn't really said much since he started glowing."

Fauna nodded to Bright Heart. "Trust me if there were a problem, he'd let you know."

"I just hope this works," Love Heart said.

"If Fang is involved, it will." Aurora had just arrived and she looked around, "What happened to this place?"

"Long story, the person who took Renegade and Nova came and attacked us," Confidence replied.

Hearing his mate's flattery he smiled, "And that bear is said to be the maven around here. He will never get anything rebuilt if he doesn't stop kvetching."

"Can you rebuild a whole town by yourself? I doubt it," Grumpy retorted.

Clearing her throat Fauna said, "He is the most powerful shaman we have. I bet he could. I'm just saying!" She hurriedly added the last part when Grumpy looked ready to yell at her.

Aurora laughed her light tinkly laugh, "Perhaps, but we won't interfere with that. I managed to make the stones to infuse with magic." She used her magic to remove a box from a sack on her back, "Have you found the right anchoring spell, Fang?" she asked.

He nodded, "Just sealing it now. You can start placing the stones."

"I just need a little help to align them, Bright Heart can you assist me?" Aurora requested.

Nodding he eagerly came over, "I must say I am quite fascinated by the integration of these two energies we are utilizing."

"Perhaps we should name it something," Aurora suggested.

"Techno magic?" Bright Heat suggested. "Well we can figure that out later, What will these gems do?"

"They will link my locator spell to your machine so you can use it to find out exactly where Nova is and then we can use that to create a temporary portal to where she is," Aurora explained.

"But it will only stay open for a short spurt so timing is everything," Fauna added.

"So don't open the portal yet, we can't tip off the Shadow Magi to our one advantage in this fight," Love Heart added.

Ending his spell White Fang came to stand by Fauna, "I believe she is referring to earlier when someone said the portal would only be able to remain open for a few seconds."

"Yes thank you. That is what I meant," Fauna agreed.

"What I meant was that we can't do any test runs, we're going to have to open the portal for the first time during the rescue," Love Heart said. "The Shadow Magi have been spying on us, especially with Pitch's ability to teleport through and hide in shadows, so we can't risk them finding out how we plan on attacking. They're probably waiting for an attack right now but still we have to be careful not to reveal any of our aces in the hole."

"Then we shall keep this our little secret till then," White Fang assured him.

Love Heart smiled, "Thank you White Fang. Do you need my help with this at all."

"Thank you for your offer but we're fine here," Aurora assured her.

"Good, then you're coming back home to get some rest," Confidence said. Before he could say otherwise, Confidence dragged Love Heart away.

"You sure you don't want my help? I already got my burrow ready for us so I really have nothing else to do," Swift Heart asked Grumpy.

Looking around he saw some wall left standing that could be taken down. "If you and Fauna promise to be careful, you two can tear down that wall using the sledge hammers."

The girls grinned and dashed over to the wall without a second thought. With a groan Grumpy headed back up the ladder. "I think I'm going to regret that."

A moment later he heard smashing from the wall section and he turned to see it in pieces already, Fauna shifting out of a rhino form and Swift Heart stretching her legs.

"Who needs sledgehammers?" Fauna scoffed.

Scowling Grumpy pointed to the rest of the half destroyed Hall, "All that needs to go down too. Then you guys can out it into piles so we can-"

"Burn it? Can we burn it Grumpus?" Fauna asked hopping in her excitement.

"No you cannot burn it!" Grumpy shot back, "We will be breaking it down and making new cement out of it so I can reuse it."

Swift Heart smiled at him, "My husband, the eco aware carpenter."

He pointed to the wall with his hammer, "Less talking more crushing." Swift Heart and Fauna eagerly went off to continue their destruction.
