Later that evening, Jack picked up Lillian and swung her around, making her laugh and giggle.

"Jack, watch where you swing her…" Elizabeth warned.

"Awh she'll be fine." Jack laughed and gently tossed Lillian onto the couch, making her giggle.

"I always knew Jack would make a good father." Mary gave a smile to Jack.

"Awww thanks Ma…" Jack blushed and picked up Lillian again in his strong arms.

"So, do you two have any plans for tomorrow night?" Mary picked up her knitting needles and slowly started to knit.

"I don't think so…." Elizabeth frowned.

"Actually, I do. We're going to have a romantic dinner at the Café with Abigail and Bill, and then I'll sweep my Elizabeth into my arms and dance around the room with her, and then have a romantic ride home. Just the two of us, and the moon and the stars." Jack said putting Lillian down and walking over to Elizabeth and putting his hand on hers.

"But what about the horse…he'll be there tooooo" Lillian smiled.

"And who do you plan is going to watch all the young ones?"

"Well, Mr. Prince Charming, who IS going to watch our kids? I want to join you, but first we need to get all the plans worked out."

"Well I asked Lisa if she would help watching Nicole and the twins Louis and Louisa. Ma, would you like to help her for a bit- and then you can rest?"

"Jack, I would happily help watch over the little ones."

"Sounds like a plan. So, my sweet Elizabeth, would you like to join me?"

"Jack, I would love to." Elizabeth reached over and gently kissed his lips.

"Hey now, not too much in front of Lillian." Mary chuckled.

Jack reached over and returned Elizabeth's kiss.

Meanwhile…above the Saloon….

"Oh Angelica, Jon is here to take you to dinner…"Lisa called into the other room.

"He is? Just let him in and tell him I will be a minute longer." Angelica said trying to adjust her ribbon in her hair.

"So, Mr. Burnett, how are things between you and Ms. Carpenter if you don't mind me asking of course…"

"Oh they are…" Jon recalled what happened earlier in the closet and continued, "they're going well."

"Well that's good. I can tell Ms. Carpenter is happier when she spends time with you." Lisa smiled.

Jon rose up from his chair when he saw Angelica walk in to the room.

"Good evening. I am sorry I took so long…" Angelica apologized.

"Please, don't apologize. You're fine…" Jon smiled looking her over. Her dress was simple, it was a light blue with some lace on the sleeves.

"Thank you…" She replied shyly looking into his eyes. They made eye contact for a few seconds, and cleared their throats and looked away.

"Well, I hope you two have a nice evening." Lisa smiled.

"Thank you." Angelica smiled, and linked her arm in Jon's, and they headed for the door.

"Good evening." Jon smiled to Lisa and left.

When they reached the Café, they walked to a table and sat down. Abigail was nowhere in sight, until her head peeked out from the kitchen.

"Just one minute, I have to finish serving the stew for the miners."

"It's alright." Angelica replied. Jon pulled her seat out and helped her to sit down. Angelica thanked him and they had a small conversation while they waited.

"Alright, sorry for the wait, can I get you two anything?" Abigail smiled.

"I'll have some of your stew, Elizabeth, I mean…Mrs. Thornton, spoke highly of it." Angelica smiled.

"Of course, Ms. Carpenter. And what would you like, Mr. Burnett?"

"Same for me, also, plus a cup of tea. Do you want a cup of tea, Angelica?"

"Certainly, sounds good to me."

"Alright then, two servings of stew and two cups of tea coming right up." Abigail smiled and walked away.

They enjoyed their stew and tea, and when it came to dessert- they couldn't decide if they wanted apple pie or chocolate cake.

"Well, Mr. and Mrs. Thornton have had several stories involving chocolate cake, good ones of course. But you two can have whatever you want."

"I have a solution, one piece of cake and one piece of pie. And a knife please." Jon had an idea.

"Coming right up." Abigail rushed away.

"Now what are you up to with a knife and one slice of each kind of dessert?" Angelica raised an eyebrow.

"Well, I am going to make my mother proud, for once I came up with an idea on my own to solve a problem. I have to admit I'm not too smart." Jon shrugged and stared into his tea.

"Jon, I bet you are very very smart."Angelica reached over and put her hand on top of his.

Jon looked up at Angelica, and met her eyes and started thinking. This girl was like no other, her laugh was cute, her smile was adorable, and she was just beautiful, even the shy side that she occasionally showed.

When the piece of pie and cake arrived, Jon used the knife to cut each in half so they would both get to try a piece of both kinds of dessert.

"See I told you that you were smart." Angelica gently bit her lip.

Jon smiled in return and enjoyed every bit of his dessert.

Back at the Thornton Family household, Jack was trying to get Lillian to go to sleep, and she was not listening.

"Come on honey it is time to go to sleep…" Jack chased her around her bedroom again.

"I don't wanna." Lillian frowned.

"Lillian Grace Thornton you need to listen to me." Jack raised his tone up a bit and Lillian came to a stop, and Jack continued. "Thank you for listening. Now, what are you going to do now?" Jack asked in a softer tone.

"I'm gonna go to sleep and say I am sorry." Lillian hugged Jack.

"That's my girl. Now, when you are older you can stay up longer, but for now you need to go to bed. Okay?"

"Okay…but why do I have to go to bed?" Lillian asked as she climbed into her bed.

"Well, you need sleep so you can grow taller, and grow more and more beautiful." Jack leaned over and kissed her forehead.

"Thank you Daddy." Lillian yawned. "But I'm not very sleepy…" she closed her eyes.

"Goodnight little princess." Jack kissed her very gently on her lips, as she fell asleep.

Jack quietly left the room, and walked into the living room, where his mother was reading a letter.

"Ma, is everything alright?"

"Jack, it is. But there is something you and Elizabeth need to know."

"Oh no, don't tell me that is one of them hilarious letters I wrote when I was little."

"No no no, this is more important than that, however I can tell a good story about how you wrote love letters to your future girl that you thought you would never meet…"

"Oh no, please not that." Jack felt himself blushing.

"Please not what?" Elizabeth walked in and sat down next to Jack.

"Nothing. Just nothing." Jack secretly hoped his mother would not tell that story.

"I just have something to say to the both of you. I want you to read this letter." Mary handed over the letter.

Jack and Elizabeth started to read, and it talked about how there was some sort of luggage coming on the next stage coach.

"Ma, what is this about…?" Jack reread the letter again.

"I have been overstaying my visit with you two and your family. I came here not only to be here when my grandchild, which turned into grandchildren- would come. I also was here while my new house was being built."

"You're always welcome here Mom…" Jack peered over the letter to look at his mother.

"New…house?" Elizabeth asked.

"Thank you Jack. And yes, Elizabeth, I can't be living alone back in Vancouver. I need to be closer to people I know and be closer to my grandkids. I have been saving up for quite some time, and I finally had enough to move and had a new home built, closer to where I could be with family members."

"Ma, you are moving away from the house?" Jack looked a little disappointed.

"Yes, at my age I can't live alone and be so far away from family. If your father was still here, it would be different. But, I'm all alone, I want to be closer to you." Mary softly smiled.

"But…where is the new house?" Elizabeth was trying to figure out where she was moving to.

"Out by the lake, there is a new small home that was built by Adam. I asked him to build it for me. It has all I need and all I could ever want. I had him create some new furniture for me and I am having my things that I need sent here by coach. I hope you aren't angry…" Mary looked at the floor.

"Oh Ma, this..this…this is good for you." Jack smiled and got up to hug his Ma- and he was trying very hard to hide his little bit of disappointment that he did have...
