Chapter 50
~After school, in Shizuko's POV...~ (Jack is absent today, and Yoriko had an emergency filming session...)
"Shizuko-chan!" Misaki called out cheerfully. "Do you want to do some fortune telling?"
I cocked my head. "You know how to tell someone's fortune?" I asked.
Misaki shook her head, giggling. "Not me! There's a girl in Moon Class, and I heard that she can tell your fortune just using your name! Ryuu-kun can come too."
I nodded. "Ryuu!" I called out.
He ran over. "What is it?"
"Wanna go do some fortune telling with me and Misaki-chan?"
Ryuu shrugged. "Sure, I guess."
"Ok, then! Let's go! Moon Class, here we come!"
~We walked to Moon Class~
"Akumu means nightmare. You love scaring people, and sometimes, when you're angry or when you're holding a grudge at someone, you're like a nightmare to them. But you know, you're actually pretty nice overall," someone explained. She had light purple hair that cascaded down her back.
"Excuse me? Is Unmei-chan?" Misaki asked sweetly.
Akumu smiled. "Hahaha, the pride of Moon Class, Unmei-chan is right here!" her smile faded away as she saw us. "Guys, I just remembered that I have some important paperwork to finish off, so see you guys tomorrow!"
"See you tomorrow, Akumu-sama!" the class shouted, as she rushed out of the room, not bothering to take a second glance at us.
Sheesh, I thought irritably. A little 'hello' would be nice.
Unmei turned to us. "You're here for fortune telling, right? Misaki, Shizuko, and Ryuu."
"H-How did you know our names?!" I asked in surprise.
"Wow, Unmei-chan really is a mind reader too!" Misaki complimented.
Unmei burst out laughing. "No, I'm not a mind reader! I mean, who doesn't know the Guardians Shizuko and Ryuu! And most people know Misaki, the pride of Star Class!"
Ryuu nodded his head slowly. "Yeah... She's got a point."
"Let's start with Misaki, then! Misaki means beautiful bloom. One day, you'll bloom like a flower. You're missing your needed friendship and love: your water and sunshine. Right now, you're just a bud, but when you bloom, it will be a beautiful sight. Yes, buds are somewhat pretty, yet... Incomplete at the same time. You'll bloom to be a beautiful and wonderful girl."
Misaki's eyes gleamed. "Really?! Wow, that's so deep!"
"Next up is Shizuko. Shizuko means shy girl, although in the inside, you don't always want to be. You want to be someone cheerful and crazy, and you want to not be nervous all the time!"
"Wow!" I exclaimed. "You totally read me, and that's awesome!"
"Finally, there's Ryuu. Ryuu means dragon. Now, dragons have mostly an evil impression, but there are some pure dragons in some of the legends out there. In this case, you seem like those evil dragons, and you may even act like one, but in the inside, there's the warmth of a beautiful and generous dragon inside of you. You hurt yourself to protect and help others," she explained.
"That's... On the right track, I guess," Ryuu muttered.
"That's so cool!" Misaki cheered. "What does your name mean, Unmei-chan?"
"Unmei means fate," she explained. "And I love fortune telling. The predicting of one's fate. So many secrets come within names. Although some people may not believe it, it's true. Names hold such mysteries. That's why when I grow up, I want to be a fortune teller. I want to meet more names, more mysteries. It's fun to do so, but it can also be helpful to the person whose fortune is being told. Some people might already know the meaning behind their names, but it's up to fortune tellers like me to interpret their true meanings and make people realize them," she said brightly.
"Wow, that sounds so cool!" I exclaimed. "You must love doing it."
She nodded vigorously. "Of course! I love fortune telling! It's just like my escape, and I just plain love it!"
Misaki smiled. "Then you should do it! Follow your dreams!"
I smiled and nodded. "Misaki-chan's right. You should follow your dreams," I encouraged.
Unmei smiled. "Thank you."
"~That girl's egg is shining brightly!~" Kazu sang.
Emi nodded, smiling. "She might give birth to her egg if she continues to believe like this."
~The next day...~
Today is a normal day, just like others: purify the x eggs, school, and Guardian paperwork. Damn... so much paperwork.. After school, as usual, I went to the Royal Garden with the Guardians to have tea and do some more paperwork. While we were doing paperwork, the Knights came and offered us help, and we all gladly accepted it.
As I was doing my work, Ryuu and Jack seem to thinking about something important. "What 's the matter with both of you? You guys seem serious about something." I asked. All of us turned our heads towards them.
"It's about the Devil, something about her made me think about her..." Ryuu said. Somehow I had a sick feeling when Ryuu said he's thinking about her.
''The Devil?" the Knights ask.
"That's what she calls herself, and she's been helping us time to time, but we don't know her true motive," Akumu answered.
"I don't think we should believe her, she's just mysterious! Why would she help us? She is a stranger toward us unless she has a connection!" Jack replied a bit angrily.
True... Why does she help us? What is our connection with her? How does she know all about us and the enemy? Deep in my heart, I could say I can trust her with my life. I glance at the pendant Devil gave me.
She told me this pendant could call her and boost my power but there is something else about this pendant... I look around and all of us are thinking eeply about Devil... The main question is: Who is she?
Silence takes over the Royal Garden.
A few moment later... Yoriko burst in with loud bang. Her high ponytail was completely messy and she was panting as if she had just finish running. All of our eyes were on her. "HIDE ME!" she demanded. We were all puzzled. She looked around. "Damn it, they are sure fast." Then she climbed up a tree and hid there. She mentioned us to be quiet and told us they didn't saw her. "I was never here," she whispered. After that a large group of students came: they were all her fans.
"Have you seen Yoriko-sama?" they asked.
"I saw her running to the planetarium," Ryuu answered them.
All of them rushed towards the planetarium."Wow, I must say: those are some crazy fans," I stated. "Even the Guardians don't have that many fans!"
The Knights (except for Kurai) were amazed by what happened and most of all they could not believe their eyes and ears because they were able to meet face to face with the famous supermodel and actress Ayasaki Yoriko.
Yoriko then climbed down the tree, her hair was now fixed. WAIT! that was fast! Just a moment ago she was messy and now she looks beautiful, cool and cold with our simple uniform. She looks at me "Tea," she ordered. She then sit down on a chair. What! Who is she to demand me? Even so I made a cup of tea for and she sipped elegantly. Damn it, even though she is cold yet narcissist she is beautiful.
"I though you guys were suppose to protect me from my fans," she said coldly.
"I'm sorry, when the class was over and I look around you were already gone," Akumu answered her.
"Ah, I quickly ran away because they had started to chased me," Yoriko replied coldly. "Thanks to that I had to do a free 5 marathon around the school."
We all sweatdrop. What the heck with her fans? They are weird and crazy!
The Knights (except for Kurai) started to ask questions.
As she took another sip, she stopped a second and looked around as if she was alarmed.
"What's wrong?" I ask curiously.
"Nothing," she said as she stood up while looking at her watch. "I have to go now."
"Eh? Now? But you didn't even eat yet!" Izumi said.
"I'm busy and I don't eat that much unlike you guys having leisure time as I had shooting and filming to do," Yoriko replied coldly and left. after she left, we all (girls only, excluding Kurai) were squealing.
"Can you believe it?! She has such a slim body!" Izumi admired.
Our shugo chara was alarmed by a bad presence. "Shizuko!" Emi cried. "It's a Mystery Egg!"
The Knights all cocked their heads. "Mystery Eggs?" they asked in union.
I nodded. "We'll explain later. Let's go, Emi!"
"Shizuko no kokoro: Unlock!"
"Watashi no kokoro: Unlock!"
"Boku no kokoro: Unlock!"
"Chara Nari: Smiley Angel!"
"Chara Nari: Friendly Angel!"
"Chara Nari: Magic Jack!"
"Chara Nari: Deadly Witch!"
"Chara Nari: Dark Cross!"
"Chara Nari: True Moon!"
"Chara Nari: Dream Feeling!"
"Chara Nari: Rebel Music!"
"Let's go, everyone!" I shouted, and we ran to where the Mystery Egg was, and we came just in time to see that Unmei was pointing at everyone, telling their future and all.
"Unmei!" I shouted.
She looked at me, and then smiled. "Shizuko-chan, look! I did what you told me to do: I followed my dreams!"
Kurai cocked her head. "Who's she?"
"I am Unmei, the greatest fortune teller alive!" she exclaimed. "I can tell anyone their future!"
"Why are you lost?" Jack asked. She suddenly looked saddened. "A lot of people just tell me that I'm weird, to get a life, and to f off..." she muttered, then cheered up. "But now I get to prove them wrong! I'm the greatest fortune teller in the world!"
Her Mystery Egg grew larger, and then ate Unmei. The egg then hatched, showing a different Unmei: she looked like Izumi, but with a large pen in her hand. "Chara Nari: Fate Dream!"
The Knights stared at Unmei in surprise. "She can Chara Nari?!" Izumi asked, surprised.
I nodded. "Yes. I told you we'll explain later," I said.
"Watch out!" Ryuu shouted, quickly flying over me. "Angel's Hug!" he shouted as his wings protected me from a mass of large words.
"Cres Shower!" Alex shouted, and the shower of little crescent-shaped moons came rushing down at Unmei, but she dodged them.
"Shock Notes!" Mike shouted, and two green amps came outta nowhere and charged at Unmei, but she dodged them too.
Kurai rolled her eyes. "You guys are useless! Let me do this!" she shouted. "Cross Shower!" A bunch of black crosses came flying down, aiming at Unmei, but she blocked them with the large pen in her hand.
"Kurai!" I called out. "Attacking her isn't going to work: you have to reason with her!"
"Turn her into an X Egg and then purify her!" Ryuu shouted.
Kurai nodded. "There's a reason why people tell you to f off!" she shouted. Unmei looked taken aback. "Not everyone wants their fortune to be told, even if you want to tell their fortune! What if your fortunes make someone do something bad, huh?!"
Unmei looked like she was going to cry. "B-But everyone wants their fortune to be told... It's a good thing to have your fortune told!"
"Let's take for example: Ann is in short for annoying. Now, you tell a girl named Ann that she's annoying. How do you think she'll feel?!" Kurai shouted, taking a last blow on her.
Unmei's eyes dulled, and the ? on her head turned into an X. Kurai pointed at Unmei. "Negative Heart: Lock On!" she shouted. "Open Heart!" Unmei turned back into her normal state.
Something during the fight disturbed me. A lot. At the corner of my eye, I could've sworn I saw Yoriko. "I saw Yoriko when we were fighting," I stated.
Jack narrowed his eyes. "Something's very fishy here..." he muttered.
"Why would she be here?" Ryuu wondered outloud. "I thought she had filming and shooting to do."
After this Ryuu and Jack are more suspicious of Yoriko activities, they smell something not right about her... In fact, I think everyone was starting to get suspicious of her... Why would she be there? And most importantly, why did she lie to us?
