"Look Blazy," Charmy said, trying to calm the cat down, "We genuinely didn't think he'd do that."

"Why wouldn't you assume that?" The cat hissed, "The guy has done nothing but run from you, what makes you think cornering the guy was going to make him suddenly do what you want him to? No, don't tell me, you just assumed he was the bad guy, you were the good guys, and because of that things would go how you intended."

Fire span around her body. Warm, but not enough to burn through things. It was more a display of intimidation than something to attack with. The fire was part of Blaze, amplified by the Sol Emeralds, and the resolution of a multi-spatial paradox that officially never happened, except for that time when it did happen, inside of another paradox of non-happening, which only resolved itself at the scene of a third paradox.

"We made a mistake," Mighty chimed in, "It's just that we needed Nack."

"And I didn't?" Blaze replied. "This isn't my world, and he was the one guy who had the one item I knew could get me back."

Blaze didn't intend to attack the detectives, as incompetent as they were she made a promise many years ago to never hurt anyone who didn't attack her. Additionally fighting them wouldn't prove anything. Neither of them looked like they'd stand up very well against her.

Charmy stood in front of her looking sheepish. He had always been taught to apologise when he made a mistake, yet right now that didn't seem to be working. He didn't really know what else to say. He'd never seen anyone else this mad, not even Vector when the bee had destroyed all his tapes.

Blaze was about to storm off, looking for some sort of enemy, any sort, she could unleash her rage onto. But before she could Mighty's phone rang. For a moment Mighty glanced at her for approval, knowing he didn't want to annoy her further. Blaze was caught in surprise, and just rolled her eyes as he answered.

"Hello," Mighty said. He knew it was Vector before he answered.

All Blaze could her was muffled speech. The exact dialogue on the other end of the phone was lost to her.

"Actually I'm here with her now." Mighty said before pausing, "No, he got away. " The armadillo noted Blaze's glare at this line, before adding "My fault boss." In one ear, Mighty noted Charmy breathing a sigh of relief. As far as the kid was concerned he was now off the hook.

"Okay. We'll meet you there. Good luck," Mighty said as he hung up. He looked at the cat, her arms crossed, her foot tapping as she glared at the armadillo. "Good news," he said hesitantly, "Vector's discovered the exact location of Eggman. Vector thinks that the doc has your emerald on him, and is forwarding us the co-ordinates now. He says Sonic's already there by now, and him and Tails are on their way."

Mighty's phone beeped once more, an image of the layout of the place, floor by floor.

Blaze looked at the image. "That's something," she said, "But where are we right now on that image?"

"Well," Mighty replied, as he stared at the maps he'd just received. "we're umm..."

"We're right here," Charmy beamed, able to answer the question.

Blaze chose to ignore this one. She knew the bee was young, and as mad as she was, she couldn't get mad at a child for not understanding something above what a child should know. "Do you even know what floor we're on?" she asked the armadillo.

"Err, it's..." Mighty was stalling for time. He didn't know. He didn't want to admit that, but he didn't know.

"Guys," Charmy asked, "What's a labradoratry?"

"A what?" Mighty replied,

"A Labradoratry," the bee clarified. The door behind you says "labradoritry three dash three two, and then it has a funny symbol that kinda looks like a letter O".

Mighty and Blaze turned around. "That says 'laboratory', Mighty corrected. He turned back to the map then realised that this would tell them exactly where he was. "Good job Charmy."

Both he and Blaze scoured over the maps for a moment before they worked out where they were. The cat eyed over the maps and mentally began plotting out the root she would need to take. It wasn't too far, but she somehow doubted that someone like Eggman would have no defence against someone like her running to him.

"Wait," Mighty said, just before the cat was about to sprint away, "We'll come to."

Blaze shook her head, "Not gonna happen, this is something I must do alone." With that she sprinted off, a trail of fire behind her.

"So now what do we do?" Charmy asked.

"We follow her obviously," Mighty replied.

Charmy looked confused, "But she said not to go with her."

"Look, we're meeting up with Vector right? And he intends to meet us at the same place that cat is going to yeah? So that means we have to go the same way as her."

Charmy nodded, "Alright, let's go!"

The two ran following the trail of scorch marks the cat was leaving. They had absolutely no hope of catching her before the lab, but they could at least get there before she left, and they hoped they would run into Vector along the way. Mighty also hoped to run into Nack, but he knew from what he had heard about the pendant that such things were very unlikely. Still, weirder things had happened, thought the armadillo.

The pair darted along observing all the destroyed robots they had ran through. Clearly Blaze was getting out a lot of her frustrations, she had taken the effort to destroy the machines not immediately in the way along with some of the others. This made Mighty and Charmy's journey much easier as they only had to deal with the few stragglers that tried to attack them. Not that they were much use. Charmy's scatterbrained and skittish approach to flying made him a hard to hit target, and Mighty's shell made him capable of enduring most hits with little but a grunt and a slight bruise.

They had gotten about halfway when Charmy spotted the giant green crocodile. "Vector!" he called out alerting it to their presence. Charmy grinned, despite it only being a short while; he had been quite upset when Vector had disappeared. Mighty was also relieved, after a lot happening, the crew were finally back together.

"Hey," Charmy realised, "Where's Espio?"

"Who?"
