Chapter Fifty-Six: Serrator and Samurai Plans

A/N: hey guys! I know it's been a while for those story, but my plot bunnies were in strike. But we've worked out a labor agreement and back in production. ;) Don't forget to review!

"The difference between school and life? In school you're taught a lesson then given a test, in life you're given a test that teaches a lesson. -Tom Bodett

"How're you guys feeling?" Tiara asked, checking to see if Jayden and Lauren were still awake.

"Wonderful," Jayden replied sarcastically. "I feel as though my head is splitting open."

"That's not good."

"No."

"I'm no better," Lauren said. "Don't worry, you're still a ranger for now."

Tiara rolled her eyes. "Not exactly what I was worried about."

Jayden laughed. "I heard you summoned the fire smasher yesterday."

"I did, and it was amazing."

"Great," Lauren replied. "I hope you're able to unlock all the powers you'll need."

"Thanks," Tiara said. "But, how many extra powers do you guys have?"

"A lot," Jayden said. "We-" Tiara left the room when the gap sensors went off.

"Should we tell her about the black box?" Lauren asked.

Jayden shook his head. "She hasn't been a ranger that long. She won't be able to handle that power."

Lauren nodded in agreement. "Yeah. You're right."

"She'll be fine," Jayden said.

Deker sat in waiting, watching the samurai rangers arrive to take care of the moogers. He sighed. Why do I even have to listen to Serrator? part of him wondered. "I don't get it," he said. "What's so special about her?" He watched the young red ranger slicing through moogers like they were nothing. He shook his head. "I just don't get it."

When the battle finished he jumped through a gap and landed on a bleak cliff overlooking the Sanzu River.

"Well?" Serrator asked expectantly.

"They won the battle. All the moogers were destroyed. What else do you expect?"

"And the girl?"

"She was there. And in pocession of the red morpher now."

"Good."

"I fail to see where that is a good thing."

"You're so naive Deker. The girl is merely a tool."

"A tool for what? What use could she possibly be to you?"

"You're as naive as those rangers. I will destroy this girl; as I failed to do all those years ago."

"Then just kill her. Why go to all this trouble?"

"Because she will be useful to me."

"How?" Deker was starting to lose patience quickly. "What's your plan?"

"It's simple. I will take the girl, along with the other two red rangers."

Deker decided not to ask what the nighlock king had planned for the Shibas. "So why not take her now?"

"For now we wait. Keep a close eye on her though. I want nothing interfering with this plan."

Deker sighed. "Fine. But this better be worth my time."

"Oh, don't worry," Serrator lied turning away from Deker. "It will be."

"So, I've found who someone could've possibly framed you two," Emily said.

"Who?" Mike asked, eager to repair his reputation.

"Brett."

"Of course," Antonio muttered. "That guy doesn't have a good bone in his body. And don't you stick up for him," he added looking at Tiara. "No es nada más que malas noticias." He's nothing but bad news.

"No es-" No he's-

"No lo defiendo! ¿Por qué?" Don't defend him! Why would you?

"No sé." I don't know.

"Ok," Kevin said. "Moving on. How do you know?"

"Well apparently there's a master combination that allows you to open all the locks on the lockers. Every one in the entire school."

"So?" Mike asked. "Anyone could've done it."

"Yes, but who else would want you guys in trouble that bad?"

"True," Kevin admitted. "But what do we do about it? Mike and I took our drug tests, both clean by the way. The cops still didn't believe our theory that we were framed."

"Then we take matters into our own hands," Mia said. "Those kids have got to be taken down."

"How're we going to do this?" Mike asked.

"As much as I'm sure you two would like to," Antonio said. "I have to help Andre take down Brett. He's been a problem for mì amigo for too long."

"I'll work on Ashely with Belle's help" Emily said. "Looks like you guys lose out."

"Just make sure we get them," Kevin said. "On the plus side, Lauren and Jayden are looking better."

"That's is good," Antonio said. "Not that we have a bad red ranger eight here," he added putting an arm around Tiara.

"Thanks," she said. "I appreciate it."

"Lets get to training," Kevin said. "Those nighlocks won't defeat themselves."

"That would solve 90% of our problems right there," Mike said as Emily pulled him down the hall.
