Chapter 56. A Night On The Town

"Are you two sure about this?"

"Aw, c'mon, Weiss! Don't you trust us?"

"I mean-"

"Yang, don't say it like that! Weiss, it's going to be so much fun! We promise!"

"...All right. If you're both so sure."

Weiss, Yang, and Pyrrha had been dating for just about two months now. The arrangement of the three of them sharing a single dorm room was working exceptionally well, despite the fact that there were more occupants than beds.

But that particular tidbit had never posed a problem for the affectionate trio of girlfriends.

They'd all been working so hard in their studies, especially Weiss. She'd just concluded a week where she'd had an exam almost every day, and her girlfriends wanted to reward her.

They planned something they'd only ever done with the two of them, before they'd met Weiss. Though Weiss had clearly never considered the idea before, Yang and Pyrrha were going to make sure she would enjoy herself tonight.

Yang had driven them into town late that Friday evening, at the beginning of a weekend where none of them had any major assignments or projects to be done. She'd parked along one of the busy streets, bustling with young adult activity beneath the glimmering city lamplight.

Presently, she and Pyrrha were flanking their girlfriend as they walked, keeping to each of Weiss' sides to ensure she felt safe in this unfamiliar part of town.

Neither of them had been particularly surprised to find out that Weiss had never gone clubbing before. She was a diligent student who focused on her studies above all else, which was arguably what a person was supposed to do at college.

But there was something to be said for having a bit of fun every once in a while, too.

They were planning to take her to a very nice place, with plenty of lights and music and security. The two of them had also made a silent pact with one another, that being that at least one of them would be with Weiss at all times, just to make sure she'd be okay on her first night at a club.

As they approached the establishment, Weiss began to voice a few of her concerns.

"So... what exactly will we be doing here?"

Yang looped one arm around the small of Weiss' back.

"Easy! We'll be dancin' and drinkin' and just havin' a good time!"

"Well," Pyrrha copied Yang's motion and slipped her arm across Weiss' back, too. "Maybe Yang will do a bit of drinking, but I'll refrain this time so I can drive us back. But she's absolutely right about the dancing and having a good time part!"

"So that's all people do at clubs? They just dance and drink? I don't see how that could possibly take up a few hours, let alone an entire night."

"Weeeell~" Yang hummed as they neared the entrance. "There are um... a few other, less appropriate things people might do, but we're not gonna go there. Probably."

"Less appropriate things?" Weiss parroted. "What exactly-"

"Oh!" Pyrrha cut her off. "Here we are! Get your ID so you can show the bouncers."

The three of them did as much to confirm they were of-age to be here tonight, and were let in by a polite, well-built man.

Weiss had to admit she did feel fairly safe with the guards there, but nothing made her feel safer than being with her two girlfriends, whom she saw firsthand every Saturday morning benching hundreds of pounds each.

Even before the doors were opened, Weiss could both hear and feel the loud beat of excitable music pounding throughout her body. It shook her to her core in a peculiar way, but it wasn't at all uncomfortable.

Inside, it was like a whole new world to her.

The main lights were dim, but thousands of smaller lights flashed around the room in every color imaginable. Disco balls reflected every bit of light, spinning round steadily to paint multiple fun patterns around the room.

Hundreds of people seemed to clog the open dance floor, jumping and swaying and moving around in every way possible. Off to one side, those who weren't dancing sat at a bar and conversed over cocktails and beers, laughing and kissing and overall just having a good time.

Weiss was temporarily awestruck by the scene presented to her. She'd only ever seen this kind of thing in movies or on television, but never before had she been at the heart of it. She was vaguely aware of Pyrrha nudging her side.

"Well? What do you think? Do you like it?"

"Give it a few minutes," Yang suggested. "If you feel it's really not your kinda scene, just let us know and we'll take you somewhere else. We don't wanna be here if you don't wanna."

Weiss nodded, her chest pounding with the rhythm of that infectious music.

"I'll give it a few minutes. Maybe it'll grow on me."

Her girlfriends shared a triumphant look with one another.

"Awesome!" Yang said. "I'm gonna hit the bar!"

"Don't drink too much!" Weiss called after her.

"I'll stay here for now," Pyrrha said, offering her hand to Weiss with a giggle. "May I have this dance?"

"You most certainly may."

Pyrrha led her onto the dance floor and began twirling around with her, playfully bumping their hips together. She'd never seen Weiss dance just to have fun before, and she had to admit it was a wonderful sight.

The uptight, straight-A college student was finally letting loose, dancing off the stresses of school and throwing her cares to the wind for a few hours tonight.

Weiss laughed and danced as she kept close to her girlfriend, enjoying the party atmosphere she'd never experienced before.

She easily lost track of time while dancing with Pyrrha. All she knew was that at least five songs had come and gone before she started to feel sweaty and thirsty. Pyrrha noted she was a bit pale and bent down to kiss her softly.

"Why don't you go find Yang at the bar and take a break?"

Weiss agreed.

"I'll do that. You?"

"I'm going to dance a while longer!" she decided.

Weiss nodded and started weaving her way through the crowds, bound for the bar. Yang was still there, guffawing at something the bartender was saying, a cocktail glass in one hand and a blush across her face. Weiss reached her and tapped her shoulder to get her attention, then took the stool nearest her.

"Yang? How many drinks have you ha-"

"Oh, heya there, Weiss! You definitely need a drink. Hey, Junior! One for my friend here!"

"Yang, you know I don't drink."

"First time for everything, right? Well fine, if you don't want it I can take if off your hands."

"How about we just put it aside for Pyrrha?"

"Mmm kaaay~"

As Weiss took a breather, she got in on Yang's conversation. It was difficult for her to hide her laughter beind her hand as Yang rambled away, slurring and hiccuping in the most charming of ways.

Again, Weiss lost track of time as she enjoyed her girlfriend's company. After a while, Yang started making doe-eyes at her.

"Heeeey, beautiful~ Remember those 'less appropriate' things I was talkin' 'bout before? Well, why don't you come over here? There's some extra space in my lap~"

Weiss rolled her eyes. "You're unbelievable."

The bartender, Junior, sauntered over and jokingly addressed Weiss. "Hey, Miss. Is this good-for-nothin' drunkard botherin' you?"

"Hey!" Yang barked.

Junior and Weiss both laughed before the man left them alone.

Weiss accepted Yang's invitation and sat across her lap, looping her arms around Yang's shoulders and leaning forward.

"I'll just have to hope my father doesn't hear about this."

"Ohh-hoo... babe... when I'm done with you, the whole world's gonna be hearin' you~"

Weiss scoffed as she leaned in for a kiss, hot and heavy with the taste of liquor. This was the closest Weiss would ever come to consuming alcohol or getting drunk, and she had to admit she enjoyed every second of it.

Several long-winded kiss later, Weiss was tapped on her shoulder, coaxing her to pull away and turn around. Pyrrha stood beside their stool, smiling.

"Well, well. You two sure are having a good time."

"Yer damn right we are!" Yang hiccuped.

"Mind if I cut in?"

From where she was standing, Pyrrha trailed her fingers beneath Weiss' chin and stole a kiss from her. Yang whistled and clapped until Pyrrha shut her up with a harder kiss.

The rest of the night was mostly a blur.

They danced. They drank. They laughed. They kissed.

All until the wee hours of the morning, when a different kind of patron started creeping in through the entrance.

At that point, Pyrrha, Yang, and Weiss were still together. Yang had refrained from drinking for the last few hours and was somehow fairly sober now. Pyrrha was exhausted, but still very much awake enough to drive.

Weiss, on the other hand, was nearly asleep on her feet. She hadn't drank any alcohol, but was staggering enough for most people to assume that she had. Pyrrha and Yang needed to support her from each side and slowly lead her out of the club.

When they reached the car, Pyrrha went around to the driver's side as Yang picked up Weiss and buckled her into the back seat. Weiss moaned softly as Yang leaned over her. The blonde chuckled.

"Didja have fun tonight, princess?" she wondered, taking the seat beside her.

Weiss' only response was a sigh as she leaned into her shoulder. Pyrrha smiled back at them as she started the car.

"I'll take that as a yes."

"Hopefully she'll remember when she wakes up at like... noon tomorrow."

"I'm sure she will."

Pyrrha drove them back to campus, where they once again half-carried Weiss along the quiet sidewalks and to their dorm room. They didn't even bother to change clothes or do anything more than lie her down on their shared bed, then collapse on either side of her.

All in all, it was a very successful night.

A/N: Sorry if it felt rushed. There was a lot to cover in a not-so-generous word limitt (this is actually double what it should be, oops), but I wanted to at least give a full feel for the club scene while keeping in plenty of affection between the three of them.
