DAY TWO ; 12:45 P.M.

Aoi Asahina felt like an idiot. Ishimaru had been dead after all, and she'd wasted her water on him, and now she was running and thirsty and didn't know what to do.

She thought that she could maybe try and get to the other side of the island; if she was fast enough, she could make it through before the danger zones took effect and then she could perhaps wait it out, maybe everyone else would be on this side and she could… she could wait for them to kill each other.

The hatchet bounced up and down on her back – she'd made a makeshift sling for it, and while she had originally been worried about it falling, it hadn't yet, and she'd been running for a while.

She came to the edge of the island and very nearly fell off the cliff. She gasped for breath, doubling over, and decided to check her map. Asahina dropped to her knees and pulled it out, deciding that she would have a drink of water. She couldn't dehydrate herself because she might want to not be dehydrated later.

There was something hard and cold at her neck and she froze. She didn't want to turn around, but she did anyway, feeling around in her pack for the gun that she was now very glad she'd taken.

Holding something to her neck was Peko Pekoyama, and Kuzuryuu stood a few feet back. Asahina leaned back, keeping the fact that she was very, very near to falling off the edge of a cliff in her mind.

"Pekoyama-chan-" she started, and then cut herself off. "I don't want to have to – kill anyone else-"

"Anyone else?" Kuzuryuu said, and then he came forward and Asahina's hand closed over the gun. "Who the fuck did you kill?"

"K-Kuwata, he killed Sakura-chan, and I needed to-" she flicked the safety off with her thumb and saw the realization in Pekoyama's eyes before bringing up the gun. The thing at her neck flared on and the gun fired, but she didn't know if it did anything because she couldn't move herself right – for once in her life, her body wasn't working how she wanted it to and she tried to move, tried to run or shoot again but instead she fell.

She plummeted through the air, pain flaring through her nerves and she tried to twist, tried to maybe get closer to the side of the cliff so she could grab on, but she couldn't and she landed hard on the rocks below and her skull split open and she died.

6 STUDENTS REMAINING

and on that note I figured out what to do with Asahina.
