Chapter 51: Exile Part 2
Year 3 – On Earth
Willow stood in the middle of the training room, a blindfold fastened over her eyes and a practice sword in her hands. She was surrounded by several practice dummies that the slayers normally practiced their stake throwing on. Though she couldn't see them, Willow felt their location. The task at hand was to defend the practice dummies from Anakin and Dawn's attacks as Buffy and Padme watched.
In the archival room, Giles looked at the catalogue and smiled. It had taken him just over two years of searching but he had found it. He walked out of the room and headed down the hall to the training room where he knew Dawn, Anakin. Buffy and Willow were likely to be. "Willow has come far, Buffy. I wonder if it was because of … what did you call it? … magic? ... giving her a foundation for her training." He heard Padme say.
"It is possible. What do you think my young Padawan?" Buffy replied as Giles walked into the room.
Willow looked to Padme before noticing Giles and gave him the simplest of nods. "I think Padme, may be correct. This is more than just magic as you said, Master. But I believe the magic gave me opportunity to learn it."
"I have to agree with Willow," Dawn said.
"As do I," Anakin agreed. "She is learning things at a faster pace than we did when we trained at the temple."
Buffy nodded. "I believe you're correct there. That's enough for today. Why don't you go meditate for a bit? I will check on you after a while."
"Yes, Master," Willow said as she left the room.
'Buffy,' Dawn thought and motioned toward the door.
Buffy turned and saw Giles standing beside the door. "Giles, is something up?"
"In a manner or speaking," Giles said as Padme, Anakin, Buffy and Dawn walked over beside him. "I have something to show you all. Or more precisely Buffy and Dawn."
"What?" Buffy asked as Giles held out the catalogue.
Buffy, Dawn, Anakin and Padme all looked at it. The design was similar to the lightsabers clipped at Buffy and Dawn's belts.
"The design is similar." Anakin said. "Buffy isn't Earth supposed to be in the Unknown Regions?"
Buffy nodded. "Yeah. To our knowledge the only two with lightsabers have ever set foot on Earth are Glorificus and Revan."
"According to the catalogue." Giles said. "It had once belonged to a man who had claimed to come and help fight back the darkness."
"That means it's likely Revan's." Dawn said. "Do you know where it is, Giles?"
Giles sighed and shook his head. "No. We are still excavating the ruins of the old Council building. If it survived the explosion I will bring it to you the moment it is found."
A month later
Dawn and Faith were out on patrol. "You didn't have to come with me again, you know," Dawn said.
Faith nodded. "I know," she said. Over the last year since she had talked to Dawn about Aurora. She had been experiencing growing feelings for the brunette Jedi. She had never pictured herself as being gay and didn't think Dawn did either. Still in the last few months she regularly volunteered to patrol with Dawn. And everytime Dawn would say she didn't have to.
"But I want to," Faith said keeping her feelings to herself. She wasn't sure how Dawn felt about her and until she knew for sure she was going to keep them bottled up. She had been hurt in the past and did not want to be hurt again. It was the reason she had always had the get some and gone policy. No way for her to get hurt again.
Dawn glanced at Faith for a moment. She had never told Faith about her growing feelings for the brunette Slayer. She had never pictured herself as gay and was sure Faith hadn't either, but here she was with these feelings for the brunette Slayer. She remembered when Faith first came to Sunnydale, how she had been. She was afraid if she admitted to Faith that she had feelings for her that Faith would bolt. After all Faith did have that policy of get some and gone.
Just then several vampires stepped out of the shadows in front of them.
Dawn and Faith quickly made short work of the vampires and then Dawn saw him, there was one more coming up behind Faith. "Faith, duck!"
Faith ducked down just as Dawn threw her lightsaber, decapitating the vampire. As the lightsaber flew back in Dawn's hand, Faith stood up.
"Thanks, Dawn," Faith said, and then she did something that startled both her and Dawn. She kissed the brunette Jedi.
"Faith?" Dawn said as she took a step back from Faith. Her emotions playing at her. She still loved Jacen, was it a disservice to his memory by falling for Faith? "I …"
"You will never forget Jacen," Faith said in understanding. "While I am probably not the best person to say this, because well you know. He will always have a place here …" She laid her hand over Dawn's heart. "And Jacen would want you to be happy. He'd want you to move on."
Dawn sighed. "Maybe… I just-"
Faith cut off Dawn's objections with another kiss, as passionate as the first. And then Faith decided to throw caution to the wind. She did indeed trust Dawn as well as Buffy. And didn't love start with friendship and trust? "I'm in love with you, Dawn Skywalker."
And with those words Dawn wrapped her arms around Faith as she realized Faith had been right. That Jacen would want her to move on, to fall in love again. And she too threw caution to the wind. "I'm in love with you, Faith Lehane."
Year 4
In the chapel Buffy stood at the front of the aisle next to Faith as her bridesmaid. Across from Faith and Buffy stood Padme and Willow who were to be Dawn's bridesmaids. Like with Buffy and Angel's wedding it was a simple private ceremony with only their friends and family in attendance.
Buffy looked down the aisle as the wedding march started. She watched as Giles and Anakin walked beside Dawn down the aisle. She smiled as her sister stopped next to Willow and the minister proceeded with the ceremony.
"Do you Dawn Marie Skywalker take Faith Hope Lehane to be your partner in sickness and in health, for richer or poorer?"
"I do," Dawn said, love evident in her voice.
"Do you Faith Hope Lehane take Dawn Marie Skywalker to be your partner in sickness and in health, for richer or poorer?"
"I do," Faith said.
"I now pronounce you partner and partner. You may kiss the brides."
Faith leaned in and kissed Dawn passionately.
"May I present… Mrs. and Mrs. Dawn Skywalker."
Four months later
Buffy sat in her quarters meditating when Revan appeared. "Hello, Revan," she said without opening her eyes.
"Hello my child," Revan said. "The time rapidly approaches for your return. It must be in the next two days."
Buffy nodded as she opened her eyes and looked at the Force ghost. "Thank you, Revan."
"For now," Revan said," I suggest you take only Willow and leave Faith and Angel here. They will be needed here before you return." He touched Buffy's head and information flowed into her mind. "Here are the coordinates you will need to get to Earth once it returns back to the galaxy."
"Thank you," Buffy said as Revan disappeared. She got up and walked out of her rooms and down the hall, knocking on Willow's door.
"Buffy?" Willow said as she opened the door. "Is everything alright?"
"It's time Willow," Buffy said. "It's time to return. The question remains how."
Willow nodded. "I have been thinking about that. I could cast a locator spell. But what will be the anchor for it? If I just open one randomly we could end up just about anywhere. If I use the portal remote it will return us back to the last planet it was locked on to."
"Mustafar," Buffy said.
"We may have a suggestion," came a voice behind Buffy. They turned to find Anakin, Dawn and Padme standing behind them. Buffy and Willow realized it had been Anakin that spoke.
Dawn smiled. "You have three ways standing right here. You can use mine, Anakin or Padme's blood. Though mine might be best. Theirs will call to both Luke and Leia. Mine will only call to Aurora."
"That might work," Willow said. "Blood will always call to blood."
That evening Willow performed her spell. When it was time Dawn cut her finger and let a drop of blood drop on to the center of the pentagram. Willow could feel the pull of blood calling to blood, "This is much stronger than before. The portal should lock on quicker than it did with Buffy and Dawn's personal items."
Suddenly a portal flashed in to existence. Buffy turned to everyone, "Willow, Anakin, Padme, myself and Dawn will cross over. I don't know how long we will be gone. It could be minutes, or it could be a year or two. Angel watch after Padme. More than likely after we cross over, not sure how long though, the portal will cease to function as Earth shifts back in to the galaxy. Revan gave me the coordinates to where Earth is so I should be able to find you when were done with what we have to do."
Giles nodded. "Good luck." He hugged Dawn, Willow and Buffy before shaking both Anakin and Padme's hands.
Faith kissed Dawn passionately, "Hurry back."
Dawn smiled. "I will. I have something to return to."
Angel kissed Buffy passionately. "Come back soon, beloved."
"I intend to," Buffy said as she and Dawn followed Anakin, Padme and Willow through the portal.
Author's Note: Coming soon the first of several sequels will start. I have three planned. Stargate in Wonderland, Stepping into Wonderland and Thrawn in Wonderland.
Stargate in Wonderland will be the first and takes place from ESB through to the beginning of Thrawn in Wonderland. I am working on an updated Galaxy Map to show where the Goa'uld are for this story and placement of several of the worlds seen in Stargate: SG-1. Stargate in Wonderland will bring Dawn and Faith in post RoTJ, about season three of Stargate. The timeline I have worked says that the Stargate movie took place in A New Hope and season 1 as I already mentioned starts in ESB. While I don't think I will be showing the Ernest Littlefeld episode in the story I've decided the events are going to be a fluke. Somehow Ernest Littlefeld's team managed to dial outside their dimension (at the time of the events of that episode Earth would still have been in the pocket dimension.) Most everything not shown in the story during the first two seasons of SG-1 will still happen. It's after Dawn and Faith's inclusion in the story that things will change.
Stepping into Wonderland will be second and takes place post RoTJ and goes through to the beginning of Thrawn in Wonderland. Stepping into Wonderland is a crossover with Charmed and takes place on Earth with Buffy and Aurora training Prue, Piper and Phoebe (and later Paige) to be Jedi.
Thrawn in Wonderland takes place during Timothy Zahn's Thrawn trilogy. And at this moment will very likely be the last in the series. Buffy herself by Thrawn in Wonderland will be at least in her mid fifties.
If I decide to continue the series at a later time I might spin it off and follow Aurora and little Padme. Aurora by Thrawn in Wonderland will be in her thirties and little Padme will be about fourteen. I would probably add in Willow also since little Padme at that age would probably still be a Padawan.
