Finale chap time! with a song written by yours truly. Also I do have a pic of Laney's outfit on my deviantart account, Yinyangtigre.
AT THE DANCE TRANSITION
The students of Elementary High were dancing as music blasted from the speakers. In the center on the room was a stage with two bands setting up to play.
The boys all had black tuxedo's and Corey was missing his hat. The girls all had different dresses though; Laney's was green and black with her bangs but like the pagent only her hair was in a wavy ponytail. Carrie wore a short light blue dress with her beanie replaced with a white headband with a red bow on the right side. Kim wore a purple dress with translucent sleeves and her hair was in a ponytail. Konnie wore a light red dress that only had a strap on one side and her hair hung down freely.
Corey and Carrie stepped up to the mic and Corey began talking "Hello Elementary High! Your about to witness history! The First ever dual performance of Grojband and The Newmans!" Carrie pushed him away and grabbed the mic while he rubbed his arm in pain "With a brand new song we wrote together!" Carrie announced. Corey's eyes widened and he tilted his head "But I didn't write a-" he stopped when he noticed Kim handing him a slip of paper 'This is the diary entry I was gonna use for the rehearsal...' he thought then looked back to Kim who gave him a knowing wink.
"I mean, yeah we wrote a song together!" Corey continued awkwardly "Newmans." "Grojband" the leaders said to their bands "Lets rock!"
Laney and Larry started out playing a nice melody of the bass and the others joined in one by one. It was an uplifting tune that made the crowd smile and cheer. After around 20 seconds Corey grabbed a microphone and began to sing into it.
There used to be a time...when we meet and we'd instantly collide
So who would have thought...when we weren't fighting a musical onslaught
we would find that we kinda share a similar mind, maybe were not as different as we had always believed
maybe it takes a whole lot more to see whats underneath
Carrie grabbed her own microphone and sang the second part of the verse.
you always made me sick...I wanted to shove you away and give you a hard kick
but I guess that now...we can try to find a way to get along somehow
time to put our petty fights behind us in the past, time to give being friends a shot I guess
but this doesn't mean that I don't hate you any less
The song picked up into a stronger pace as Corey and Carrie stood back to back and sang together.
we can try... to find a little peace between us
we can try... to see whats underneath the surface
Corey took a line for himself
whether we can sing together
Carrie took the next line for herself.
or maybe we could make it better
Corey joined back in as the two sang the rest.
whatever happens it doesn't matter
if we are singing the same song
we can try...to play our music to the beat
we can try... to have our songs in harmony
whether you are right or wrong
even if it takes a little long
our bonds will have become strong
when we siiiiiing...as one
The bands took a bow as the crowd went crazy for them. Each of the band members high fived their counterpart and cheered as well.
TIME TO WRAP THIS UP TRANSITION
The group took a break from playing and spent some time dancing with their dates.
Corey spun Laney around in a circle as she grinned ear to ear, then was pulled back into Corey's arms. "I thought you didn't like dancing?" Corey gave his girlfriend a smirk, causing her to blush and answer "Well...its not so bad with you." she admitted. Both gave each other a loving smile as they waltzed back into the song. It was just like at the wedding gig when Corey first realized his feelings for her. Only now they didn't keep they're feelings bottled up inside. The love they shared was undeniable and unbreakable.
Kim was resting her head on Kin's shoulder, feeling content she could now show her love in public. Kin enjoyed this too, closing his eyes and smelling the sweet scent of lavender in Kim's hair. Kon and Konnie were dancing wildly compared to everybody else, including flips and turns that people questioned how they did it. "Wheeeee!" Konnie spread out her arms as Kon lifted her through the air. The pairs ended up backing into each other as they danced, the twins smiled at their sibling as Kim asked her sister "So is this the secret friend you've been hiding?" "Only if he's the guy you never tell me about." they playfully spoke "How about none of us keep secrets from now on!" Kon suggested, Kin looked disappointed "Aaaw, does that mean I have to tell you I ate your gouda the other day?" the others laughed until Kon got serious "Wait that was you?!"
Larry shyly walked up to Carrie "Um Care...can we...um..." Carrie rolled her eyes and grabbed his arms "Just dance with me you weenie!" she laughed and pulled him into a dance. Larry was starstruck as he and Carrie spun around "For the record, I'm not a weenie." Larry pointed out "You sure, cause I think boys are kinda cute when they're weenies." Carrie teased. Larry's eyes lit up and he ended up saying something in his daydreaming state that he never had the courage to say "Oh my gosh I am so in love with you right now!" as soon as Larry realized what he said he covered his mouth. Carrie stood there with her jaw dropped, before changing it into a big smile "Well, maybe I'm so in love with you too." she told him. Larry nearly fainted until Carrie caught him and playfully rolled her eyes.
The four couples all took center floor and danced together. All in perfect harmony. Corey and Laney held each other close before slowly closing the gap between them with a kiss. Kin and Kim and Kon and Konnie both did a turn and the two pairs pulled into a kiss as well. Larry looked at the others before shrugging "Oh heck with it!" he grabbed Carrie by the shoulders and pulled her into a kiss. Giving a small fist pump as they parted.
The time flew by and it was time to pack up and go home, Corey sat on the stage with the others as he began talking "You know guys, I realized something." The spotlight shone down upon him "When you really hate someone, its only because you don't know them enough to see what they are really like. Maybe you have a lot in common, maybe your opposites, it doesn't matter. If your friends are friends with they're friends, maybe you can be friends too." the spotlight turned off. Carrie shrugged "Still really weird. But hey at least we rocked this place! The Newman's and Grojband together for a common purpose!" Corey eyed her "Don't you mean Grojband and the Newmans?" "No, the Newmans were obviously top billing tonight!" Carrie flipped her hair as she spoke "Well maybe Grojband was the star of the show and you were our guest stars!" Corey pointed out "Oh that is so like you Riffin!" "What is, being awesome?" "No being a idiot!" "Oh, so now I'm an idiot. At least I have wicked sining skills, you sound like a dude!" "Oh you did not just say that!" The others rolled their eyes and facepalmed.
"Guys!" Larry shouted to them. Corey and Carrie paused mid argument to stop and look out at the fourth wall, the eight pre-teens grouped together and said "Thanks for coming out everyone!" and they shut the garage door. Behind the door you can hear Carrie say "At least I got the last word in." "Nope. I did!" Corey piped up.
And that's a wrap! yeah...Corey and Carrie will never give up arguing. And Larry actually won for once.
I am writing a new Grojband story coming soon, this time will be about a certain pink haired girl and how things all changed for her.
I am taking a small break to finish my Kablam fic and start my EL Tigre fic. so stay tuned for next month when my new story is released.
Thanks for coming out everyone!
