Chapter 44: Baby Baby Here We Are All Crazy
Eleven Years Ago
"Get lost would you!" Kat growled out as she chased the creature. Somehow, one of the goblins from the Labyrinth, she could tell that it was for some reason, was running around her room, making it a mess. She was trying to capture it and send it away, at the very least out of her home.
The goblin, however, just laughed and continued to dodge her. A few minutes later, the goblin stood in front of her mirror, blowing a raspberry at her.
"Why you!" Kat shouted before jumping towards the goblin, hoping it would surprise the creature. Sadly, the goblin must have anticipated that for as she was in mid jump, he went into her mirror. As she had no way of stopping herself, Kat ended up going through her mirror as well, landing hard on the ground.
"Owwww." She groaned from where she lay, glancing upwards to find herself back in the Labyrinth. "Fuck."

"What are you up to?" Jefferson looked up to see his wife standing in the doorway, two cups of tea in her hands. The portal jumper closed his book as she walked into the room and to his desk. She set down the one cup in front of him before hopping on the one end of the desk, facing him.
"Nothing much." Jefferson sighed, he had yet to tell her about his research, mostly because he was unsuccessful.
"Hmm…" Kat blinked, looking at the cover of the book, reading the title, "Why're you looking up portals?"
"…" Jefferson didn't answer for a moment before deciding that it wouldn't hurt to tell her, "After what almost happened to Storybrooke, I figured that we should probably find a way home."
"Home?" Kat blinked, "You mean the Enchanted Forest."
"Yeah." Jefferson slumped into his chair as he grabbed his tea. "Problem is that I haven't figured out a way to get us back. My hat's busted and all the other ways I've come up with wouldn't work in this world." Looking up at the woman, he noticed the frown on her face, "What's wrong?"
"Do we have to go back to the Enchanted Forest?" Kat asked uncertainly, "I mean, I don't mind living there except… You know how difficult it is to travel between this land and there. I'd miss my family."
Jefferson looked at her sympathetically. He saw how close she was to her brother, and remembered her telling him about her Uncle. He understood the want to be near her family.

Kat groaned as she walked through the Undeground. "Of all the fucking places to end up. Why did I have to end up here." The teen had already tried to find the mirror that she had fallen through, but it seemed to have been a one-way trip, much like he previous time. "Why didn't I get rid of that damn mirror after I got Kyle back." She muttered to herself. Of course, she knew why she didn't get rid of it. It had belonged to her mother when she was a teen, and despite the trouble that it has caused Kat so far, she wouldn't throw it out because of that reason alone.
"Now, how am I gonna get outta here this time?" The teen scratched her head as she looked around. Looking around, she noticed that the gate to the Labyrinth was nearby. A thought came to her as she walked towards it, "Maybe Hoggle will know." With that in mind, the teen couldn't help but hope that Hoggle was actually at the gate, she really didn't want to have to venture through the maze again.

Hours had passed since Jefferson had the conversation with his wife about returning to the Enchanted Forest. She had left after they had both finished their tea to go return the cups to the kitchen before she ended up heading out to go get some groceries. After she left, the man couldn't help but think about their conversation.
Did they really need to go back to the Enchanted Forest?
Sure, that was where he and Kat had met and became a family, but with Jefferson's former job traveling to other lands, the concept of going elsewhere was never difficult for him. Grace was raised in the Enchanted Forest, but there was little doubt in Jefferson's mind that she wouldn't adjust to any of the other lands out there. If they stayed in a different land, one that would make traveling to this land easier, then Kat would be able to see her uncle and brother, and Grace would be able to see more family than just her parents.
So far the idea of living away from the Enchanted Forest seemed to be a good idea. And as Jefferson continued to think about it, he realized that it didn't matter where they lived, so long as they were together and not separated again. If something happened to Storybrooke, like before, there was no telling what would happen to Kat, as she wasn't originally from the Enchanted Forest nor was she truly affected by the curse. So, no matter where they decided to live, they needed to find a way there before anything happened to the town again
The portal jumper was finally taken out of his thoughts by a knock on the doorframe, looking up, he saw that it was Kat.
"Hey, you're still in here?" Kat asked, glancing at the clock, "Dinner's ready."
"You didn't cook it did you?" Jefferson couldn't help but ask.
"Ass." Kat responded jokingly, "Its steak, string beans, corn and mashed potatoes. Not something difficult like cookies."
Chuckling, Jefferson got up and walked over to the doorway. Wrapping an arm around his wife's waist, the two began their journey to the dining room.
"What were you doing in there for so long?"
"I got lost in my thoughts."
"Dangerous territory for you, Hatter." She joked, referencing both his former job and the one character from the book she enjoyed as a child.
"Haha, Alice." He responded back, "But, I have come to realize that it really doesn't matter where exactly we decided to live, be it the Enchanted Forest, or even Wonderland." He paused for a moment as his wife laughed at how his tone dropped at the mention of the land he, temporarily, lost his head in. "So I'll try to find a land we can live in that will still give us the ability to travel here."
"Really?" Kat asked, stopping in her tracks in shock.
"Really, Kat." Jefferson smiled, "Family is important and I'm sure Grace would love to meet your uncle. We can't do that while we're stuck in Storybrooke, nor if we go back to the Enchanted Forest."
"Have I told you recently that I love you?" Kat asked before giving him a long kiss, which he happily returned.
"Yes, but I still love hearing you say it." Jefferson responded once the woman moved away.
"I love you, Jefferson."
"I love you too, Kat."

Much to the teen's disappointment, Hoggle was not out by the gate like he was the first time she was there. She ended up having to venture into the Labyrinth, again. When she finally found Hoggle, she was surprised to see him by the Bog of Eternal Stench, with Sir Didymus and Ludo by him. She could not help but laugh a bit, as well as pity him, when she found out that Jareth had made him the 'Prince' of the bog because her mother had given him a kiss on the cheek when she was rescuing Tobi.
It was safe to say that Kat was having fun. It was even safe to say that she was having the most fun since her parents died. She had ended up playing some games with them, and even some of the other goblins who wandered over when they saw the fun the small group was having joined them. It ended up being like a rather chaotic party near the bog, Kat would still be wondering where the chocolate covered chickens came from years from then, as Kat almost completely forgot that she ended up there on accident.
As the party died down, somewhat as there were a few drunk goblins that were trying to push each other into the Bog, Kat remembered the reason she sought out Hoggle.
"Hey, Hoggle, do you know how I can get back home? I kinda ended up here on accident and don't know a way back."
"Jareth would probably know a way back." Hearing the brunette groan, Hoggle began to think of a different way that she could possibly go back, though he was not sure if it would work. "There may be another way. But you have to promise me something in return."
"And what's that?" Kat asked.
"Come back and see us again." Hoggle said, only to get agreements from several of the goblins still around.
Kat was a bit surprised that they enjoyed her company that much. Still, she couldn't say she didn't enjoy this. "Aliright. I'll definitely come around again." To her even greater surprise, the goblins began to cheer, there was even a chicken being tossed into the air.
"You could also try wishing." Hoggle told her once the others were quiet enough for him to be heard.
"Wishing?" Kat raised an eyebrow at that. She believed in Goblins and magic now but wishing… that didn't really work.
"Jareth made it so we'd all have to obey any wish Sarah made. An' since you're her daughter. It might work for you."
"Ok." Kat blinked before closing her eyes and began to silently wish to go home.
"Not like that!" Hoggle snapped before she finished her thought.
"What?" Kat blinked.
"You have to say it out loud. We can't here your thoughts, ya know."
"Oh." Kat rolled her eyes before closing them again. Of course, that made sense... or as much sense as the rest of this place made. "I wish the goblins would take me home right now."
WOOSH
Kat's eyes snapped open as she suddenly lost balance. Upon opening her eyes, she saw that she was no longer by the Bog, which her nose was probably grateful for, but rather in her bedroom.

Glancing at his cell phone, Kyle could only hope that his sister would not be too mad for him missing diner, and that the homework he would have to do the moment he got home would not be time consuming. He would like to get in some tv time before going to sleep. Looking up from his phone, he could only stare at the person who was making him stay out late. "What'd you call me over for, Cait?" The Cheshire had left a note on his locker saying to meet her at the soccer field around sunset.
"Figured I owed ya an explanation for the way I was treatin' you the othe' day." Cait shrugged.
"I already told you that you didn't need to." Kyle reminded her, remembering how she had gotten drunk a few weeks ago.
"Still need to get it out, mate." Cait responded, "I can trust you enough to know you won't go telling people about it."
"If you're sure about it…" Kyle did not sound too sure himself.
"Before this curse hit, hell before I ever even met anyone in the Enchanted Forest I was still a novice at what my clan did. One of my first jobs was for a man known as the Mock Turtle." Cait sighed and look away at that, kicking some dirt before continuing, "Don't get emotionally attached to clients, cause clients can easily become prey. Numbuh one rule of Cheshire clan and my stupid self thought I was above it. I fell for the guy… hard. Too dumb to realize that I was being played. By the time I had realized it, he had already used me for all he wanted."
"I don't think I want to know what that means." Kyle frowned, the way she sounded made it clear that this Mock Turtle had used her sexually.
"That prick made a fool out of me and I wasn't even able to get back at him. Not like I was in any condition to anyways."
"He hurt you physically?"
"I nearly wish." Cait scoffed, "Got pregnant thanks to him. And cause of the laws of my clan I had to keep and raise my child." Despite the annoyance in her voice, there was a softness to her eyes that made Kyle wonder if she did care for the child.
"How long ago was that?" Kyle asked, very curious. He thought Cait was his age, though he wouldn't be surprised if she was much older than that.
"Two years before the Curse." Cait told him, "I think they'd call me a teen mom in this world, though it isn't too uncommon in my clan."
"What happened to the Mock Turtle then?"
"I have no idea." Cait glared at the ground, "But if I ever see him again I will kill him."
I am so sorry this took so long! I started this chapter back when I was still working on the previous chapter and well... a mix of crap happened. I had trouble with the last bit on how to word it especially since it is a touchy subject. So in the year and a month since I last updated here is what happened: I finished college, graduating on Halloween and two hours after wards my Uncle in Jersey died and my mom had to go back up there as soon as she could, and I had to go up with her as she needed help cleaning out his apartment. (Oh and, from January 2014 to January 2015 I lost 13 relatives so 2014 was not a good year for me) I moved back home and helped around the house until July as that was when me and my mom went on a cruise that was my graduation gift and now I am currently looking for job while also cleaning up what was my bedroom as my friend is moving into my mom's home now. Besides that, Once Upon A Time was not a very inspiring to me this season, and I'm sad to say this but once I finish writing up the third season for the show I will only post one chapter, the epilogue. There is nothing that Kat or anyone in her family could add to season four and I doubt season five will be much better, especially when I'm barely tolerating watching the show myself at this point (Rumple and Regina are the only reasons I continue as the Charmings are the worst and the writers barely seem to want to write about anyone else in a good light.) So, I honestly could have gotten this posted a few months ago but I wanted to have more than one chapter written by the time I posted this, there are currently four more written up (so up until the mid season finale) and all of the other chapters have their basics all figured out.
Thank you, kykyxstandler, for the review I'm so sorry that this took so long (especially considering you have been reading/reviewing this story the longest) I'm glad you enjoy the way I have planned out this story. I hope you enjoyed this chapter.

Thank you, Alexis, for the review. As you can now see, I am still on this site, just had trouble getting inspired to write more. Your review actually motivated me when I first saw it. I'm glad you like what I have done with Grace and Jefferson so far. I hope you enjoyed this chapter.
I hope everyone enjoyed this chapter. Reviews are greatly appreciated.
