Hello, darlings. Sorry for the hiatus, but I'm back. This story is getting really crazy, really fast.

Happy Thanksgiving to those that celebrate.

Happy Thursday to those who don't.

Ordinary People

"So, the Lockwood's really have no idea that these tunnels are underneath their property?" Elena asks.

"Careful where you shine that thing. Bats hate the light," Ric says and I laugh.

"Wait, what?" she asks.

"Elena!" Damon whispers as he sneaks behind her.

I roll my eyes and push ahead to the front as she jumps.

"Ah! God, Damon!" she says.

"Scaredy-cat!" he says.

"Just ignore him. That's what I do," Ric says.

"So, you really can't get in?" she asks.

"No. Seems even the ancient Lockwood's were anti-vampire," he says.

"What do you mean ancient?" I ask.

"See for yourself," he says as we walk further into the cave to see drawings on the wall.

"Well, this is as far as I get to go," he says and I test if I can go in.

I laugh and step in, spinning around to mock him.

"I guess it's only anti-Damon," I say and he looks so confused.

"You're kidding."

"Maybe werewolf trumps vampire," Ric says.

"What is all this?" Elena asks as we look at the walls.

"Well, as far as I can tell, it's a story. In simple, archaeological terms, it's a really, really old story," Ric says and points, "That right there, is the moon cycle."

He points at another one, "A man, a wolf."

"A werewolf," I say.

"Yeah, it's the 'Lockwood Diaries: Pictionary-Style'," Damon says.

"I don't understand. I thought the Lockwood's came here with the Original Founders in the 1860's," Elena says.

"I don't know. Maybe the Lockwood's did, but according to this wall, these werewolves have been here a lot longer than that," Ric says.

"How long?" I ask.

"Long. It gets better. Show them, Ric," Damon says.

"Names. They're not native. They're written in Runic, a Viking script," Ric says and I immediately know who it's talking about.

"Let me guess. Our favorite friends," I say and Ric looks at me.

"This name here, I translated it and it reads Niklaus. And Elijah... and Rebekah."

"These are the names of the Original Family?" Elena asks.

"Carved into a cave that's been here since way before the founding of Mystic Falls. Or even the entire New World, for that matter," Ric says.

"Okay, this has gotta be one of Klaus's fakes," Elena says.

"That's what I said," Damon says.

"That could be true, except the last name up here made us think otherwise," Ric says.

"What's the name?" I ask.

"Mikael," he says.

"Mikael... Mikael, as in, the vampire hunter who knows how to kill Klaus?" I ask.

"Yep. I now like to call him Papa Original," Damon says.

"Mikael wants to kill his own son?" I ask, "I don't like this plan."

"I thought you broke the bond," Damon says.

"I did! But I don't really want to wake a man who wants to kill his own son. That means we're next," I say.

"Well, that's a problem," he says.

"Why?"

"He's already awake," Damon says.

"And let me guess," I say with a glare, "You lost him."

Damon smiles slightly and I rush out of the cave.

I follow silently behind Elena as she walks to Ric's apartment.

"She's going to tell me. She's scared of him, Damon. I saw her face. I just have to engage in a little 'mean girl power struggle' first," she says and I roll my eyes.

"Well, make sure she doesn't power struggle you into a wheelchair," Damon says on the phone.

"I've got this, Damon. If we can figure out a way to kill Klaus, Stefan will be free of his compulsion. So... how does he look?" she asks.

"Mmm... pasty and pouty," he says.

"He'll have to get over it. Call me later," she says and Ric opens the door as she hangs up, "Rebekah will come around."

"You're sure about that? I mean a thousand-year-old vampire, I'm sure, has learned the art of patience," Ric says and Elena's phone beeps.

"She's a thousand-year-old vampire, who's joined the cheerleader squad... There is a whole different set of rules that play here, Ric. I got this," Elena says and Ric closes the door as she leaves.

"Hello, sister," I say and she tilts her head.

"What's up?" she asks.

I rush at her, covering her mouth and bashing her head into the wall, hard enough to knock her out.

"Just a 'mean girl power struggle'," I say to the dead air and grab her phone from her, seeing a text from Rebekah, "I think I will come over, Bekah."

I knock on a neighbor's door and they open it.

"Hello?" he asks, looking me over.

"I need you to watch after my sister. Cover her mouth and tie her to a chair," I compel and pick Elena up by her shirt, throwing her at him.

"Okay," he says in a daze.

"If she wakes up," I compel and hold up a bag of sedatives, "Inject her with these. Don't let her leave. Don't let her make noise."

"Yes, ma'am," he says.

"Thank you. Don't tell anyone we spoke," I compel and speed away.

I enter the boarding house, hearing music when I stepped closer to the house, and Bekah walks in with champagne.

"Meg?" she asks.

"You invited my sister to talk... but she's," I say and smirk, "Preoccupied. Perhaps we can talk instead. It seems you've prepared a party."

She smiles slightly before laughing, "What'd you do?"

"We?" I ask, placing a hand on my chest in shock, "I have no idea what you mean."

"Well, my fashion show won't make an impact, since you won't care. Nevertheless, girls, have at it!" she says and six girls come out in homecoming dresses.

"Okay, now twirl please," she says and they twirl.

"Lovely," I say and she smiles.

"I need a Homecoming dress. So, what do you think? Pick one," she says and I frown.

"Hmm. It's hard to pick just one. Although, I do enjoy the red one," I say and she smiles.

"I'd say you're right," she says and turns to the girls, "Go away. Remember nothing."

"My sister thought she could threaten you and get her way, because Stefan, and now Damon," I say with a growl, "Fall at her feet. As do Bonnie and Caroline."

I grab a glass from Rebekah and she smiles.

"But I know better than to threaten an Original. However, I'm curious about Mikael. They think it's a great plan to wake him," I say and she shakes her head.

"It isn't. If they do we're all doomed," she says.

"I'd like to know why," I say, "Elijah said that your father was a landowner in Europe. How did you guys end up here?"

"My parents had just started a family, when a plague struck their homeland. They lost a child to it. They wanted to escape and protect their future family from the same fate," she says.

"So, how did you end up here? This part of the world hadn't even been discovered yet. Well, not documented at least," I say.

"My mother knew the witch Ayana, who heard from the spirits of a mystical land where everyone was healthy... blessed by the gifts of speed and strength. That lead my family here, where we lived amongst those people," she says and I smile.

"Werewolves," I say.

"To us, they were just our neighbors. My family lived in peace with them for over 20 years, during which time my family had more children, including me," she says and I nod.

"Once a month our family retreated into the caves beneath our village. The wolves would howl through the night and by morning we'd return home..." she says, "One full moon, Klaus and my youngest brother Henrik snuck out to watch the men turn into beasts. That was forbidden. Henrik paid the price... And that was the beginning of the end of peace with our neighbors... And one of the last moments my family had together as humans."

Elena's phone vibrates in my pocket and I roll my eyes.

"Damon, the dumb ass, checking up on Saint Elena," I say and answer the phone, doing my best to mimic Elena's voice, "Hello?"

Rebekah throws me a thumbs up and I wink.

"Hey!" he says.

"Damon, where are you?" I ask as I hear loud music in the background.

"No idea, but I'm pretty sure I'm overdressed... Still standing?" he asks.

"Yes, I'm fine, but I can't talk right now," I say and hear Stefan in the background.

"I'll be at the bar."

"You let Stefan out?" I ask like I didn't already know he wasn't here.

"Yeah, I kinda went off a bit. Don't worry. I know what I'm doing," he says and I hang up.

"Doing her voice always hurts my throat. So whiny," I say, massaging it.

"Do that often?" she asks.

"Only when I've knocked my sister out and given her to a stranger to watch. Oops. Did I say that out loud?" I ask with a smirk.

"Honestly, I don't get you two as a couple," she says randomly.

"Who?" I ask.

"You and Damon. He's so wannabe bad boy. But you and Stefan," she says with a smile, "That'd make sense. Although, I'd still be jealous."

I laugh and down my champagne.

"Yes, well. I could've had him in the beginning, if I'd wanted," I say.

"What stopped you?" she asks.

"I guess the wannabe bad boy intrigued me too much. Because I felt 'bad'," I say and put air-quotes around the word, "And I didn't know why."

"But you do now. And you're not 'bad'," she says, throwing her hands up the same way I did, "You just know what you want."

"Neither one of us are bad, Bekah. That's just how my goody-goody friends see us. Besides, I don't need Damon," I say and wink, "I can do bad all by myself."

"What's stopping you now then?" she asks.

"From what?" I ask.

"Going after Stefan," she says like it's obvious.

"Honestly," I say and she nods, "You."

"Me?" she asks.

"I know you still feel things for him," I say and she looks down.

"Why do you care?" she asks.

"You're my friend, Bekah. And as it stands you're the only one who hasn't betrayed me," I say and she looks back at me, something strange in her eyes.

"That necklace wasn't Stefan's to give," she says quietly.

"The one he gave Elena?" I ask.

"It belonged to the Original Witch. She's the one who turned us into vampires," she says.

"I'm thirsty. Do you want a drink?" she asks and I nod.

"So, vampirism was a form of protection?" I ask and follow her into the library.

"What else would it be?" she asks.

"I've only seen the Original Witch, no offense if she was kind, as evil. Given what she did to Niklaus," I say and she shakes her head.

"My parents only saw a way of keeping their children alive," she says.

"You could've left. Why stay?" I ask.

"Pride... My father didn't want to run anymore. He wanted to fight and be superior to the wolves. Where they could bite, we had to bite harder. Where they had speed, we had to be faster. Agility, strength, senses..." she says and tells me a story.

"In her hands? How could she do anything?" I ask.

"Because my mother was also a witch," she says.

"The Original Witch..." I say and she nods.

"Where do they keep their best vintage?" she asks as she searches the shelves.

"Then are you also a witch?"

"No, a witch is nature's servant; a vampire is an abomination of nature. You can either be one or the other, never both. My mother did this for us. She did not turn," she says.

"How did you turn?" I ask.

"She called upon the sun for life, and the ancient white oak tree, one of nature's eternal objects, for immortality. That night, my father offered us wine laced with blood. And then he drove his sword through our hearts," she says.

"He killed you?" I ask, thinking of how they raised this damn man from his sleep.

"And he wasn't delicate about it either," she says, "We had to drink more blood to complete the ritual."

"It was euphoric! The feeling of power was indescribable... but the witch Ayana was right about the consequences. The spirits turned on us, and nature fought back... For every strength there would be a weakness..." she says.

"The sun became our enemy. It kept us indoors for weeks... And though my mother found a solution, there were other problems..." she says, "Neighbors who had opened their homes to us could now keep us out."

"Flowers at the base of the white oak burned, and prevented compulsion. And the spell decreed that the tree that gave us life could also take it away... so we burned it to the ground."

"But the darkest consequence was something my parents never anticipated... The hunger. Blood... had made us reborn and it was blood that we craved above all else. We could not control it... And with that, the predatory species was born..."

"And because Klaus was a werewolf, killing made him a hybrid," I say and she nods.

"With that, he became my father's greatest shame."

"Your mother had had an affair with one of the werewolf villagers. Klaus wasn't his son."

"She tried to make it right. She put the hybrid curse on Nik to suppress his werewolf side, and then she turned her back on him. But Mikael's greatest weakness as a human was his pride. As a vampire, that was magnified. He went on a rampage and killed half the village. Then he came home and killed her," she says.

"Mikael killed your mother?" I ask.

"He said she broke his heart so he would break hers. He tore it from her chest as Nik watched," she says, "Afterwards, my father took off in a rage, and the rest of my family scattered. Nik stayed, so he could help me bury her. He knew I had to say goodbye to my mother."

"Always and forever... I like it," I say and she smiles.

"But we're vampires. Our emotions are heightened. I'm stubborn, Elijah moral, and Nik... Nik has no tolerance for those who disappoint him. Over a thousand years as a family we've all made that mistake at least once. I've made it several times," she says and I smile.

"Well, after that, I must tell you. They've already awoken Mikael," I say and she speeds in front of me.

"What?!" she asks.

"They're trying to kill Niklaus," I say, "I told them. They wouldn't listen. If Klaus is scared of something, so am I. I told them he'd kill all of us."

"Fools..." she says quietly, "Where is he?"

"The best part... They've lost him. They only care about themselves and what stands in their way," I say and she looks extremely angry.

"And you don't want to kill him?" she asks.

"I'm not particularly fond of him, but no. And since I've turned, they've done nothing but hide things from me. They should learn by now. I told them with Elijah. And did they listen then?" I say, getting angrier by the second.

She stares at me for a moment before nodding.

"Okay. I believe you," she says and I smile.

"Don't trust them," I say and my phone starts ringing.

"Hello, Daddio," I say and Ric laughs.

"Cave drawing update. You're with Elena, right?" he says and Rebekah perks up.

"Yes, sir," I say.

"We, uh, filled in what we could," he says, "I'm sending you both the pictures. A Vampire, werewolf, slaughter, mayhem, etc."

"Yeah, yeah. Basic stuff," I say, pulling out Elena's phone and looking at the pictures, "That's the white oak tree that was used in the spell to create the vampires... which means that was when they burned down the tree, destroying the only way that they could be killed."

"Okay, so tree equals weapon, sort of. We already knew that. What we are not sure about is this: we've got the witch symbol, and what looks like a bleeding heart. Upside down figures usually signified death, of some kind," he says and I nod.

"Mikael killed the witch by ripping out her heart. But... why is that one connected to the witch's death?" I ask, looking at the hybrid symbol.

"We don't know. We haven't gotten that far," Bonnie says.

I look up at Rebekah with a sad smile.

"Oh, no. Ric, I gotta go," I say and hang up quickly.

"How do you know that Mikael killed your mother?" I ask quietly.

"Nik was there. He told me," she says and I look down.

"Do you think that maybe he lied?" I ask.

I show her Elena's phone and point to the symbols.

"The cave where you carved your family's names is covered in symbols. The story of your family: how your parents arrived, how they made peace, the spell that turned them into vampires, and this. This is the symbol for hybrid. It's a combination of the werewolf and the vampire symbol. And this is the one for your mother," I say.

"Her necklace," she says.

"And this is the story of her death. The hybrid killed the Original Witch. Not Mikael. Klaus," I say sadly.

"No! No, he wouldn't," she says.

"He probably didn't mean to... She cursed him and rejected him. Werewolves get angry, but hybrids... We get downright murderous if we're angry. He didn't want to lose you, Rebekah. He was no doubt scared after he'd accidentally killed his mother," I say.

"These mean nothing! They're just stupid drawings, done by stupid people who had no idea who my family was!" she says and I frown.

"It's okay, Rebekah. I didn't mean to upset you," I say and she gasps, falling to her knees.

I move carefully to sit by her and she flings herself onto me.

"I'm sorry," I say and rock her back and forth.

I turn off Elena's phone and sit it in my nightstand. I quickly shower and head into my room. Stefan is sitting on my bed when I enter.

"Can I help you?" I ask, hugging my towel tightly around me.

"We got Mikael," he says.

"How?" I ask.

"I guess Katherine came through. For once in her life," he says.

"Bet you feel all big and bad. Mikael's on your side. Until he kills Klaus, and then the rest of us. He wanted his children dead. Us? We're nothing," I say and Stefan shrugs.

"Have you seen Elena?" he asks.

"Nope. I picked her up from the Boarding House. She filled me in. Made me give Rebekah the bad news. But after that..." I say, "Not a thing. Maybe Mikael's got her."

"Oh, well. She isn't needed for the plan," he says.

"Rebekah's on our side at least. Her cooperation is needed," I say and he nods.

"Go to homecoming with me. That's where we'll do it," he says.

"Sounds fun. Get out," I say and he smirks.

"I like this view," he says and I drop my towel before speeding at him.

"You'll like it even better," I say as he looks me over, "When I gouge out your eyeballs with my bare hands."

"That's rude," he says and I smile.

"I was nice to you this summer. That's enough kindness I'd say."

"Live a little. Elena's missing and you're not the least bit concerned?" he asks and I shrug.

"No one listens to me. You woke Mikael and he's abducted her. Not my problem," I say and grab him by the neck, "Now get out."

He speeds away and I pull out my phone.

'Keep me posted. -Rebekah'

"Hello, Elena," I say and smell her neck, "Look at that. Not a drop of vervain."

She struggles against her restraints with wide eyes.

"Now, here's what you did today. And here's what you're gonna do," I say.

Homecoming

"Aye, let's say that Mikael followed Elena in here. He tried to grab her, so he could use her as bait," Stefan says.

"And you what? Vervained him?" Elena asks and I scoff.

"Yeah, guys. The vervain took him down. Please, try to be realistic," I say and roll my eyes,

"Okay, fine. We vervained him, and in the process discovered that he had a dagger," Stefan says.

"Which he planned to use on Rebekah, but instead..." Elena says.

"We drove it through his heart," Stefan says.

"And who, pray tell, did the daggering when you all will die?" I ask, "Elena overpowered an Original vampire? Get real."

"You," Mikael says and I look at him, "His favorite hybrid."

"And what happens when he asks to see Mikael's body?" I ask.

"Good point! You, my brother, have been compelled to do what Klaus says. So the idea is to lure him back here and kill him... last thing we need is you getting tripped up and tongue-tied," Damon says.

"Well, don't look at me. I'm just in charge of getting him back here," he says.

"Klaus is smarter than all of you combined. If you tell him that Mikael is dead, he'll want proof," I say.

"Then I shall be dead," Mikael says.

"And when he wants to see you in person?" I ask.

"Well, that means our plan is working. Klaus will absolutely want to see my body. You lure him here, and I will kill him," Mikael says.

"With what? Those daggers won't work on him," Stefan says.

"Well, I'm in possession of a stake fashioned from the wood of the ancient white oak tree. The one that left these ashes when it burned," he says.

"Where is it?" Stefan asks and I roll my eyes.

"Yes, Stefan. He's going to tell you where the only stake in the world that can kill him is. You, my friends, are on quite the roll," I say as Mikael dips a dagger in the white oak ash.

"She's clever," Mikael says, turning to me, "You see, a vampire can't dagger an original without dying. So... it falls to you."

He hands it to me and I take it without effort.

"Ready, Mike?" I ask and he moves to speak, probably to argue the nickname, as I shove the dagger through his heart.

"Portland is fantastic. Once you get over all the whiny music and healthy looking people, it is literally a breeding ground for werewolves," Klaus says on the phone.

"Your father is dead," Stefan says.

"What did you say to me?" Klaus asks.

"Oh, my mistake. Not your actual father and not dead. Mikael. Daggered. What do you want me to do with the body?"

"Well, first I want you to explain to me exactly what happened," Klaus says and Stefan gives him the fake story.

"I wanna see him. I want to see his rotting body for myself," he says.

"Well, he is here. Come by whenever," Stefan says.

"If you are lying to me Stefan, your compulsion will expose you. So, answer with your life: Is what you are saying the truth?" he asks.

"It's true. I saw it with my own eyes," Stefan says.

"I wanna talk to Rebekah."

"That's not a problem. She is right here," Stefan says and hands the phone over.

"Hello, Nik," she says.

"Rebekah, love. What's this I hear about Mikael's tragic run in with the dagger?"

"It's true. He's finally out of our lives for good. I miss you. I'm miserable here," she says.

"I'll be home soon," he says.

"Good. I'll see you then, brother," Rebekah says and hangs up, "He bought it. He's coming home."

"Now, was that easy or what?" Damon asks and I look down to hide my smirk.

"Let's just get this over with," Elena says and pulls the dagger from Mikael.

I watch Rebekah paint her toenails as Mikael is dead in front of us on the floor. He starts coughing and sits up.

"Finally. Took you long enough," she says.

"Rebekah."

"Whatever fatherly rubbish you're thinking, save it. Nothing you say matters to me," she says.

"I see. Where is my dagger?" Mikael asks.

"Elena has it. So you can forget your plans to use it on her," I say and he looks to me.

"She was never what I was after," he says.

"Nik was my family. If you were after him, you were after me," she says.

"He blinded you, Rebekah. He killed your mother!"

"I know what he did, and he'll pay for it with his life. But Nik was not born a killer; none of us were! You did this to us when you turned us into vampires! You destroyed our family. Not him," she says.

"Rebekah..." he says and I watch her walk away.

I laugh and he looks to me.

"You're very cocky for someone so easily killed," he says and I smile at him.

"If you think for a moment that you scare me, you're wrong," I say and he speeds towards me.

I flip him on his back and plunge my hand into his chest.

"How long does this take to grow back?" I ask and his eyes go wide, "I guess we'll see."

I rip his heart out and throw it into the fire before walking upstairs to clean my hands off.

"Is that blood?" Damon asks and I smile.

"Mikael got snippy," I say and he speeds downstairs.

I turn to the window and jump to the ground below. I speed away towards the high school and call Klaus.

"Klaus," I say as he picks up.

"Meg, thank you for killing my father," he says.

"Don't thank me yet," I say.

"What happened?" he asks.

"Well, if it wasn't obvious, you've been tricked. But I'm here to fix it. Bekah's in on it too. My plan, not their's. Which I'm assuming she's already been daggered by Elena since she doesn't trust her," I say.

"But they trust you? Sire bond and all?" he asks.

"I broke it. Remember?" I ask.

"They bought that? Five times was all it took and they bought it?" he asks.

"Hello! Been through this. It hurt like hell. I wasn't doing it more than five, dick," I say and he chuckles.

"Tell me your plan then," he says and I tell him our plan before frowning.

"Well, they're probably angry and distrustful... I ripped Mikael's heart out," I say and he sighs.

"Why?" he asks.

"He pissed me off," I say, "You were right about Elena by the way. She was compelled so easily. If only her boyfriends knew that. Oh, well."

"We're almost free of Mikael. Try to grab Katerina for me, will you?" he asks.

"I'll try," I say and hang up.

I look at the water pipes before me.

"Now, which of these will flood the school?" I ask myself before just ripping them all out, "Whatever."

"Elena!" I say, "I have to show you something."

"I'm a bit busy," she says and I roll my eyes.

"Nonsense. Mikael's not still bitter about the heart thing is he?" I ask quietly, "He should've known better."

"Meg, please," she says and I smile.

"Come on!" I say and grab her hand, "Matt doesn't mind. Huh, Matt?"

"Go for it," he says and I pull her away.

"Stop acting like an idiot," I say, "Did Elena not tell you the plan?"

"What are you talking about?" Katherine asks and I roll my eyes.

"Amateurs..." I say as I lead her into Tyler's bedroom.

"Meg, cut the shit," she says and I laugh as I turn around.

"You really are stupid," I say as I snap her neck.

"Keep a close eye on her. She should have grenades on her," I say and one of the three hybrid's searches her, finding them quickly.

"Where's Elena?" I ask and she walks out of the bathroom.

"Here," she says.

"Perfect," I say, "Go on. Play your part."

"I'll play my part," she says and exits the room.

"Don't you love when things go according to plan?" I ask and they smirk, "Go on then."

I walk back into the main party room and wait for Klaus to arrive.

"Good evening everyone! I wanna thank you for being here with me to celebrate! It's been a long time coming!" Klaus says outside.

Matt and Elena walk over to me and I laugh.

"Full of himself," I say.

"There's Caroline. She doesn't know anything. Act normal," Elena says.

"Hey... Klaus is here," Caroline says.

"Apparently our sired hybrid-friend Tyler thought it would be okay to let his master throw a party," I say with a shrug.

"I expected more surprise!" she says.

"I've learned not to be surprised by anything Klaus does. I'm gonna go find Bonnie," Elena says and walks away.

"What's going on? And what are you two doing here together? Thought you were supposed to be here with Rebekah," Caroline says.

"Plan's changed. I need a drink," Matt says and walks away.

"I'm gonna go find 'my master' and see if I can't annoy him," I say and leave Caroline alone and confused.

"Quite the Homecoming," I say as I walk over to Klaus and Stefan.

"I've been planning my father's funeral for a thousand years. Granted, in no version of it were any of these people invited, but you get the idea," he says and I laugh.

"So, what now? Stop running?" Stefan asks.

"Hm, now I reunite my family," he says.

"Your family. You mean the people you cart around in caskets?" Stefan asks.

"None of that matters anymore. Mikael is gone. Bygones will be bygones," he says as the Homecoming Queen walks by, "Seems the Homecoming Queen still walks among the living, which leads me to believe Rebekah isn't here... Where is she?"

"I have no idea. I thought she was coming with Matt," Stefan says.

"Oh, be honest now, Stefan. Where is my sister?" Klaus asks.

"I said I have no idea. How would you like me to take you to your father?"

"Well, it wouldn't be a party without the guest of honor, would it? Bring him to me," Klaus says.

"All right. Perhaps there's something in it for me...? My freedom from your compulsion?" he asks.

"Oh, you want your freedom. Well, once he is dead and his weapon destroyed, you'll have your freedom. It'll be my pleasure to give it back," Klaus says and I smile at the floor.

Stefan walks away and Klaus comes closer to me.

"They won't trust him," I say and he nods.

"I'm counting on that," he says.

"Invite only, vampire," the hybrid guarding the entrance says.

"Here's my RSVP," Damon says and rips the hybrid's heart out.

"Hybrid," he says and I come to him.

"Naughty," I say, snapping his neck when he walks inside and speeding him upstairs.

Something falls to the ground and I look at it. The White Oak stake.

"Too kind," I say, putting it under my dress with my other stakes.

I go find Klaus playing beer pong and I stand next to him.

"I didn't know vampires played beer pong."

He turns to answer me when one of his hybrids comes over.

"You have a visitor," she says.

"Well, tell my visitor I'm on the brink of victory here," he says.

"He said his name is Mikael," she says and Klaus turns to smile at me.

"Then we mustn't keep him waiting. Move everyone out back. I'm gonna have a little chat with my dad. Tony, you know what to do," he says and looks at me, "Come on, love."

We walk to the front door and I smirk at Mikael.

"Hello, Niklaus. Meg, lovely to see you," he says.

"Hello, Mikael. Why don't you come in? Oh, that's right. I forgot you can't," Klaus says.

"Or you can come outside if you want," he says.

"Or I could watch my hybrids tear you limb from limb," Klaus says and his hybrids line up behind Mikael.

"They can't kill me," he says.

"True. But it'll make a hell of a party game. All I have to do is rub these two fingers together and they'll pounce," Klaus says.

"The big bad wolf. You haven't changed. Still hiding behind your playthings like a coward. You only forget. They may be sired by you, but they're still part vampire. And they can be compelled by me," he says and the girl from earlier, pushes Elena to him.

"Come out and face me, Niklaus. Or she dies," Mikael says.

"Go ahead. Kill her," Klaus says.

"No, Klaus. He'll do it," Elena says.

"If she dies, this lot will be last of your abominations," he says.

"I don't need them. I just need to be rid of you," Klaus says.

"To what end, Niklaus? So you can live forever, with no one at your side? Nobody cares about you any more, boy! What do you have other than those whose loyalty you forced? No one. No one," Mikael says and I see Klaus tearing up.

"I'm calling your bluff, father. Kill her," Klaus says.

"Come outside and face me, you little coward. And I won't have to."

"My whole life you've underestimated me. If you kill her you lose your leverage. So go ahead. Go on. Kill her. Come on, old man. Kill her. Kill her!" Klaus says and Mikael laughs.

"Your impulse, Niklaus. It has and will forever be the one thing that keeps you from truly being great," Mikael says and moves to stab Elena as she stabs him with the vervain I gave her.

"Oops," I say as I rush forward, throwing Klaus the White Oak and watching him stab Mikael with it.

Stefan walks in behind Klaus and he looks at him.

"You'd best thank Meg for this. You no longer have to do as I say. You're free," Klaus says.

I smile at Stefan before looking at Klaus.

"You're welcome," I say and bend down to help Elena up.

"By the way, you don't have to follow my every command anymore," I say.

I rush to the Boarding House as fast as I can to undagger Rebekah. I find her on the floor and remove the dagger from her.

I throw her over my shoulder and rush to Terrance's house.

"Knock knock!" I yell and his wife comes to the door, "Hello."

"Meg, come in," she says and I smile.

"Thanks, love," I say and walk inside, "Standby. I'll need you to invite her in when she awakes."

"No problem," she says and I lay Rebekah on the couch.

"Where's your husband?" I ask.

"In the cellar with that Katherine girl," she says.

"I've been wondering about the screaming. They hurting her?" I ask and she smiles.

"I didn't invite her in," she says and I laugh.

"Brilliant," I say.

Rebekah suddenly sits up with a sharp breath.

"Please come in," Allison says and Rebekah looks at her.

"What the hell happened?" she asks and her phone starts ringing again.

"Klaus keeps calling you," I say and hand her the phone.

"Yes, Nik?" she asks.

"Oh, thank god," he says and I tilt my head, "Stefan has the rest of our family."

"He what?!" she asks.

"He's dead. I'll kill him and all his friends," Klaus says.

"Elijah," I say quietly.

"Is that Meg?" Klaus asks.

"Yes, she saved me," Bekah says.

"Mikael's dead, for real, by the way," I say, "But now there's this. Alright, Nik. What's your next move?"

She smiles at me and I smile back.

"Stefan better run," she says.

Damon knows that he screwed up with her and can't do anything to fix it, so, as usual, he acts out.
