Chapter 51
Masked nature: Part VIII
Fierce combat
...
"Don't hate me, Satan," tears ran down Lisian's face. "We're friends, right?"
Satan nodded, pulling back. He wiped away the blood on his lips and smiled softly. "We are."
Lisian smiled brightly, gaze softening. "Thank you..."
"SATAN! WATCH OUT!" Satan rolled his head skyward. His eyes flashed wide, as the ceiling fell toward him and Lisian. Everyone' eyes widened.
The floor under the collapsed, but before anyone falls, weed formed under them, forming an artificial platform. A royal blue circle appeared below it, preventing it from falling. Erini and Locus glanced at each other. The castle collapsed completely, leaving them hanging it the sky, kilometres away from the ground.
Their eyes widened as the rock collapsed on the two demons. Dust surrounded them.
"SATAN! ETHAN!"
Ange gasped, taking a step ahead.
The dust around them slowly disappeared. Everyone gasped in shock. A purple barrier was surrounding Lisian and Satan, protecting them. Satan's eyes went wider, staring at it. He glanced down at Lisian. "B... But... This isn't darkness!"
Lisian shook his head, eyes watering. Satan's blood ran on his chin but he didn't wipe it. He relaxed on the bed. "It's not," he whispered.
"Lisian..." Satan stared at him, confused. Lisian's eyes went completely purple. "You know," he whispered. A purple lettering spread on his skin as a purple spell shined on his face. His wings appeared. Purple feathers drifted in the blowing wind. The rain fell heavily, but didn't touch the two demons.
"I wasn't the person I thought I was," he smiled, as thunder growled. "Because, you know," darkness wrapped around Lisian' body, forming new clothes. "It has awakened," he whispered. Satan held his hands. "What has awakened? Lisian? What's the meaning of this? Why are you attacking them?"
"I don't know," Lisian bit his lips. "I'm sorry..."
Satan gasped, as lightning sent him flying backward. Ange caught him, glaring at Lisian.
"Satan..." Lisian stood up, hand reaching for Satan. "We're... friends... right?" He smiled weakly.
Satan forced himself to stand up. Tears ran down his face.
"Give him back..."
Memories flashed in his mind.
"GIVE HIM BACK!"
He ran toward Lisian.
"GIVE MY BROTHER BACK!"
Lisian's eyes flashed wide. "Satan..."
"GO AWAY! YOU'RE NOT MY BROTHER!"
Satan started punching Lisian's chest over and over and crying.
"GO! I DON'T WANT YOU!"
Lisian's hand started trembling, still reaching out.
"It's... me... Satan..."
"LIAR!" Satan glanced up at him with hate filling his eyes. "We were fine BEFORE YOU SHOWED UP!"
Lisian gasped in pain. He took a few steps back as lightning burst from his body. "Don't... hate me... PLEASE!"
"I HATE YOU!" Satan gritted his teeth, purple flames exploding from his body. "I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU!"
Lisian cried out, holding his head between his arms. He flew toward the sky. The storm went tougher.
Ignis gritted his teeth, placing his hands on his ears. "The scream is deafening!"
Meanwhile
Tharros coldly stared in front of him. He was standing on the beach. The ocean was enraged, its waves crushing the sand. Behemoth smiled. "You found me fast. Have you missed me that badly?"
"Who is he, Behemoth?"
"He is Satan's brother."
"Who is he, Behemoth?"
Behemoth sighed. "Alright! I'll tell you," he crossed his arms.
"You know, he's..."
Meanwhile
"WE SHOULD FIGHT THOSE DEMONS! THEY'RE DESTROYING THE CITADEL! PROTECT GUANNA AND ASSIAH!" Ignis yelled, flying toward the ground with his saints. Fire burned on his skin. Ange stared at Satan. "These flames... They're the flames of hate. They aren't the same flames of the curse." He lowered his head as his wings appeared. "Only he can settle this. We shouldn't interfere. Let's go fight with the others. We'll fight in the sky."
Locus and Erini nodded and flew away.
Ange stared at Satan. "Satan! The only way for this storm to stop is to kill Lisian. Can you do it?"
Satan clenched his fists and flew toward Lisian. Ange closed his eyes. "I'm sorry, Satan." He flew to the sky and joined the others."
Ten shining yellow orbs surrounded Ilios. He glared at the demons as beams of yellow fire pierced their bodies. He glanced at Ignis. "There's no end to them."
"They aren't demons. They're regenerative clones."
"Regenerative clones?"
"More like shadows." Ignis smiled. "He's not willing for us to interfere in their fight, that shadow demon. He's probably trying to destroy Assiah, by destroying the citadel."
Ilios gritted his teeth. "As if we'd let him!" More beams ran from the orbs.
Ximera transformed into a fire phoenix and breathed out fire, blowing the clones away.
Hiz yawned, rubbing his eyes. His gaze darkened as he disappeared from sight. "I wanted to sleep."
Ignis smirked, fire blades appearing in his hands. He threw it in front of him as Hiz grabbed it on his way and ran in the speed of the sound. As he ran, clones started collapsing, one after another. "I JUST WANTED TO SLEEP! ASSHOLES!"
Atrahunt bit his lips. "What if her house is destroyed? Oh, she'll blame me so much! She might even reject me!" A dark-red aura appeared around his body as the clones in front on him started being attracted to each other. They then exploded by the attraction's intensity. He sighed, lowering his head. "I'll never find a girlfriend, I guess," he muttered, punching a clone coming behind him.
"MAKE IT BURST BABY!" Erixi smirked, pointing his hand at the sky. Wind, dust and everything around him started condensation until forming a huge bomb. He laughed, throwing the orb ahead. It wiped all the clones and exploded.
Aluben took a sip of his tea. A red mist surrounded him, making all the clones melt. He smiled, taking another sip. "Whatever..."
Lapis flew to the sky. A thousand laser blades appeared around her then started crashing on the ground. She smiled, as all the clones were wiped out. "Level one, cleared!"
Magma crossed her hands. Her blue eyes shined as a lava wave ran from the depths of the ground and crashed of the shadows around her, swallowing them. She smiled. Yama grinned. "Great! Now they're all wiped out!"
Ignis coldly stared in front of him. "No..."
He glanced at Ilios. "Don't attack. Go and just protect Yama. I'll need your powers for something better. They're never ending. They'll just exhaust us."
Ilios nodded and ran toward Yama. Ignis cracked his fingers. "Let's get this party started..."
Erini glared at the shadows around them. Weed ran from his back. His green hair extended in wild grass. His skin went green as thorns ran from his arms. He started piercing the demons around them. Locus rolled his head skyward as a wide royal blue circle appeared above them. It started swallowing the demons and more appeared.
Ange absently stared at the purple lightning. Lisian... He clenched his fists. A white light burst from his body, making all the shadows in the citadel disappear.
Ignis glanced at him, shocked. "W... Wow..."
Tears rolled down Ange's cheeks. Erini's gaze saddened, glancing at him. Locus sighed, lowering his head. "We need reinforcement. I'll try to teleport."
Ange didn't answer. Locus smiled and disappeared. Ange lowered his head. "Don't die," he whispered. "Lisian..."
Satan coldly stared at Lisian. Purple-feathered wings appeared from his back. Clouds and lightning surrounded Lisian. He bit his lips, as the lightening ran toward Satan. Satan dodged and flew toward his brother. Fire burned around him, making and arrow. Lisian pointed a hand in front of him. A purple circle appeared on it as a purple aura ran from it. Satan gritted his teeth, flying through it. "GIVE ME BACK MY BROTHER!"
"I am..." Lisian rolled his head to the side as his eyes went empty. "Am I?"
Satan tried to punch him but his fist encountered a thick barrier around him. He flew back. "LISIAN! WHERE ARE YOU?"
Fire arrows crashed on the barrier from all the sides. It started breaking. Lisian flew away, disappearing into the clouds.
"WAIT!" Satan flew behind him. A fire scythe appeared in his hand. He blocked Lisian's sword. Lisian stared at him with an absent expression. "Who am I?" he whispered. Satan gritted his teeth, pushing him backward. He kicked him and pushed the scythe into his belly. Lisian cried out in pain, throwing up blood. Satan's eyes widened, seeing his brother's pained, fearful expression and hearing his agonized scream. He felt his heart beating faster.
Satan! The only way for this storm to stop is to kill Lisian. Can you do it?
Satan gasped as lightening crashed on his back and started burning him. He yanked his scythe out and flew upward. Lisian stared at him with a dark expression. He yelled in rage as purple lightening chased the fire demon.
Kill Lisian!
Satan shook his head, trying to focus. He stared at Lisian's dark face. Lisian wrapped an arm around his bloody belly. He frowned, feeling a thread on it. He grabbed it. It was the thread that Ange used to stitch his old injury. Lisian's eyes widened, staring at it. He gasped, as Satan grabbed him by his neck. "I'm killing you, Lisian..." Satan's gaze darkened as his wings and fire went blue. "I'm killing you, I SWEAR!"
Lisian gritted his teeth and punched Satan away. Satan's eyes widened, as lightning crashed on him. It wasn't like Yozan's lightning.
No, that lightning was...
The lighting of an enraged storm...
Satan screamed in pain. Lisian's eyes flashed wide, hearing his scream. He gasped as the lightning disappeared. Satan slowly closed his eyes, falling toward the ground. Lisian gasped, flying toward him. Clouds condensed and caught Satan as he fell. Lisian stared at him with watering eyes. He sat near him. His skin started cracking. His hand reached for his brother. Ange's eyes widened, seeing what was going on. He tried to interfere but demons surrounded him. He gritted his teeth.
Lisian placed a hand on Satan's face. "Sa... tan?"
Satan winced, opening his eyes. He stared at his brother's watering eyes. He saw a shining white spell on it, though they remained purple and empty. Satan held his hand. "Let's go home?" he whispered.
Lisian lowered his head. He leaned forward and placed his forehead on his brother's. "This isn't our home," he whispered back.
Satan stared at him, staying silent.
Lisian smiled softly, running a hand into his hair. "We shouldn't be here."
"You have no right to destroy this place! You're even making Assiah suffer!"
Blue fire blades appeared behind Lisian. Lisian's gaze darkened. "So, you decided to join the angels, finally?"
Satan flew away. The blades crashed on Lisian. Satan emotionlessly stared at him. He closed his eyes as his hair went white. His eyes turned completely white as his wings coloured to white. His fire went white. He flew toward Lisian, holding his scythe. "You're not my brother..."
"The flames of end..." Ange lowered his head. "The perfect flames..." He smiled. "Kill him, Satan. He's no longer..."
Their blades crashed. They glared at each other. White and Purple lights flashed in the sky. Ignis coldly stared at it. Everything around him started collapsing. He closed his eyes, lowering his head.
Satan gritted his teeth as lightning crashed on him from behind. Lisian gritted his teeth, as fire blades pierced his back. A white aura surrounded Satan. A purple aura surrounded Lisian. They yelled as a red aura exploded from around them, destroying everything in its passage. Everyone's eyes widened in shock.
Satan pushed Lisian away and slashed his chest open. Lisian gasped, flying backward. Satan lowered his head, panting. He placed a hand on his mouth, coughing blood violently. The red aura disappeared from around them. Satan gasped, coughing more blood. He yelped as a chain of darkness pierced his chest and wrapped around his heart. Lisian smiled.
"Farewell, Satan..."
To be continued...
...
Lisian awakened a dreadful power that no one knows. The castle collapsed and the citadel is on its way to break. A long fight happened between the demon brothers before Lisian took over.
