Me: Okay. I've been having trouble writing this chapter. But, let's try again.
Wolverine: Enjoy.
Informant: Come on!
It was a few days after DB and Avispa had reluctantly kissed. DB was thinking about what to fix for breakfast, when he noticed a strange sight in the living room. He was looking down at Avispa, laying on a big box. "Hey. What's up?"
DB snorted. "Well, right now, I am. And you, evidently. What's in the box?"
Avispa leapt off of it. DB began walking down the steps as she said, "It's a gift. To say thank you. I was able to get mother to deliver it to me. I hope you like it."
DB smiled softly. "You didn't need to."
"I know. You've said that. I wanted to."
"I'm rubbing off on you. Well, let's see what you brought me." He opened up the box and his jaw fell open. He pulled out a rusty chigiriki and looked at the end of the handle. He placed it back in there and turned to Avispa, eyes watering and his mouth slowly closing and the ends turning upwards. "Thank you."
"You're welcome." Avispa raised an eyebrow as he looked back in the box. "I expected some happiness. But, this is just...way too much for just some rusty weapons. Unless he really like weapons, which...brings up some disturbing questions."
"This is the best gift anypony could ever give me." He closed the box and began carrying it upstairs. "You do not have to worry about helpign with taking care of anypony's house. I'll take care of it all. Then, whatever you want to do, we'll do it. As long as it doesn't involve destruction or conquering or killing or stealing or anything along those lines."
Avispa blinked as he went past where she could see. "At least he likes it." She just stood there until he came back. "I'm glad you like it."
"You have no idea. So, what do you want for breakfast? You name it, I'll make it."
Avispa just blinked. "Just..make whatever."
DB nodded. "Alright. I'll make you some bacon and eggs. And toast!" He practically ran to the kitchen.
Avispa looked to where he went and blinked again. "Should...I admit him to a psychiatric clinic?"
half an hour later
Avispa was in the kitchen, eating her breakfast, while DB took a shower. "What got into him? How could weapons make him so happy? Course, this could be a real good day for me."
DB walked back in and asked, "So, what do you want to do first, when you're done eating?"
"I'd like some time at the spa."
DB nodded. "Okay. I'll set the money on the table in the living room. I'll make sure the others houses are clean."
"You aren't going to have breakfast?"
"I had some as I was making yours."
"Explains why it took you so long."
DB nodded. "Yep. Well, I'm off. Enjoy your day." DB trotted out of the kitchen, and went up to his room. He came out with a bag of bits the size of his head. "Hm. I'm gonna have to go get some more from one of my accounts. Oh well. I've got to take care of some houses." He headed out. When Avispa came to the living room, she was, needless to say, surprised by the size of the bag of bits.
one hour later
DB walked into the spa and seen Aloe at the front desk. He walked up to her and said, "Hi. My friend Avispa came in earlier."
Aloe nodded. "Yes. And she paid for you to have a spa day, as well." Before DB could respond, he was pulled into the spa and laid on a massage table. He was about to respond, when the massage started and all his objections went out the door.
He laid his head down and his tongue was hanging out. "That...feels..goooooood."
"I know."
DB looked over and seen Avispa. "Why do you look...different?"
"Changelings have an exoskeleton. And, an endoskeleton, so we can walk when we've shed our exoskeleton."
DB nodded. "That makes sense. So, you've shed your exoskeleton so that you could actually feel this."
"Exactly. Luckily, changelings don't grow as they shed their exoskeletons. Mainly because we are designed so that if we have our exoskeleton too damaged, we can just shed it and get a new one within a day."
"So, what have you had?"
"Hot tub. Now this. I ordered a full service session."
"As long as you enjoy yourself. I'm not normally one for spas, but they can be enjoyable." DB then closed his eyes and relaxed.
noon
The two of them walked out of the spa, content smiles on their faces. "That is just what I needed."
"So, what do you want to do next?"
"How about lunch?"
"Restaurant or home-cooked?"
"Home-cooked."
DB chuckled. "Seems somepony really enjoys home-cooking, huh?"
"Why wouldn't I? It's good! You could easily get a job as a chef."
"Yeah, but not keep it. I'd have multiple health code violations and any restaurant would fire me for how much of a mess I made."
"You've got a good point. Though, changelings wouldn't care. They'd just be glad to have good food."
"Hm. Maybe I can open one for changelings."
Avispa chuckled. "Good luck making any money."
"They'd probably find some way to pay me. Besides, I'd never open any sort of business for making money. I'd open it to provide service to others. I'm not interested in making more money than I already have. I already have more than I know what to do with."
DB's home, one hour later
The two were sitting at the table, simply from being stuffed. "That was a great meal as always."
"I strive to please."
"Then you've succeeded."
"Good to know. So, when you're able to move again, what would you like to do?"
"Why don't we go ahead and go to the living room and play some chess."
"Okay." DB teleported both of them into the living room. He levitated the board over and set it up. "Ladies first."
that evening
"Checkmate."
DB smiled. "Good game."
"It's fun playing with an equal."
"It is. You never know who will win or if you'll get into a stalemate."
"I think we've only had one."
"We have. And our number of wins are about equal."
"They currently are." Avispa smirked. "So, you ready to have the fewest number of wins?"
DB shot a smirk back. "I think you are."
the next morning
DB and Avispa had fallen asleep in the middle of a game. Since they hadn't been sitting together, they didn't have an awkward awakening. When they woke up, they resumed their game and DB tied up their wins again.
Me: Okay. The next one will be after winter.
Informant: Winter wrap up, winter wrap up, winter wrap up!
Me: Don't make me hurt you!
Wolverine: Question. Where's the others?
Me: They're on the train back. If I were to write it, they'd be there the next morning. But, yeah. I'm not even gonna mention Pinkie Apple Pie. I'll mention Rainbow Falls. So, we're getting close.
Wolverine: Thank goodness. Review.
