I do not own anything in the Supernatural universe, only Sarah.
I must have passed out sometime during Kara's torture, because when I woke up I was slumped down on the floor under the wall where the demon had pinned me. I made to move and my whole body seemed to ache, causing me to groan at the soreness I was experiencing.
Kara must have been nearby and heard me, because a few moments later I saw the demon walking down the stairs, peeking down to check if I was awake. Seeing that I was conscious, Kara continued down the steps, another glass of water clutched in her hand. I couldn't help but gaze longingly at the glass, I was suddenly parched.
"Morning, sunshine," Kara said as she stepped over to where I was and crouched down over my limp form. "or should I say, evening?" She went on. I turned my head slightly to the right and glanced out the small window in the basement, seeing that beyond the dirty glass the ground appeared to be shaded in oranges and reds; the colors of a sunset.
'Want a drink?" Kara asked and held the water out to me. I tried to reach up and take it, but she harshly pulled it away.
"Say please," She said with her lip pushed out into a pout and her head cocked to the side.
"Please," I rasped, tired of putting up with the demon and desperate for a drink of water. Kara smirked at my weakness, and then handed the glass of water over to me. I took it in a shaking hand and then hesitantly brought it up to my lips. Taking a sip, the cool water instantly provided relief to my dry mouth.
I finished the water in a few drinks, and then looked back up at Kara. The demon was still crouched next to me, staring at me with deep intent. I warily handed the empty glass back up to her and she took it without a word. Standing up, the demon walked over to the table and sat the glass down, and then returned to where I was half-lying half-sitting on the floor against the wall.
"Ready for another go?" She asked sarcastically, "Maybe you won't try to fight back this time." I didn't respond, and quickly Kara reached down and gripped me by the collar on my shirt. Reaching up to grip her arms, I started panicking. I didn't know if I could survive another round of Kara's torture.
"No," I gasped as she pulled me up off the floor and up to eye-level with her. "Please, stop." Kara rolled her eyes.
"Okay, whatever," She said, and I grew confused at her choice of words. She started to drag me back to the door of the supply closet, which was still open from earlier. Stopping at the doorframe, she looked me directly in the eye.
"Let's set a tentative date for your death, umm," She shifted her gaze to the ceiling, appearing to decide on something. "Tomorrow, O-Nine Hundred hours," She finished, and then without warning, shoved me back into the supply closet. I stumbled and then fell against the seat, collapsing to the floor once more. I turned my head just as Kara slammed the door in my face, leaving me in the dim-lit room alone.
I knew that if I wanted to get out of the church alive then I was going to have to come up with a plan, and fast. If Kara planned to kill me the next morning...then I didn't have that long left. I looked around the room for anything to help me get out, but the only things that were in there was the wooden chair and...well...me.
My gaze flickered up to the ceiling, and all of a sudden a plan struck me. Maybe if I could trap Kara, it would give me enough time to escape, or even better, kill her.
For the first time in days, I felt a burst of strength. Maybe I could end this once and for all. I mustered up my energy and moved over to the chair, thinking about all that I would have to do before morning.
"Why would Sarah be in Eastern Kentucky?" Bobby asked once the boys had used the GPS tracking chip in her phone to locate her.
"I don't know," Dean said as he sat one of his duffle bags down onto the couch. "But we've got to get to her."
"But what if Bobby's right?" Sam asked as he watched his older brother pack his bags. "What if she doesn't want to be found right now?" Dean glanced up at his brother before returning his focus to his bags.
"I don't care if she wants to be found or not," He said bluntly, "She might be hurt, and I'm not taking that chance." Sam had to admit that he could see Dean's point, even though he had his own opinion on the matter. He turned when Bobby spoke up.
"I'll stay here in case Sarah comes back," He explained, and the younger brother nodded. "But you two keep me updated, you hear?"
"We will," Dean said before lifting the bag up and slinging it over his shoulder. "Ready, Sammy?" He asked, and then walked out of the room.
"Yeah," Sam said, and then looked over at Bobby one last time, giving a solemn nod of his head in goodbye to the man.
After making sure that the Impala was stocked with everything that they needed to provide defense against whatever was out there with Sarah, the Winchesters climbed into the car and the vehicle pulled out of the junkyard.
"What do you think Sarah's doing?" Sam asked after a while. Dean turned to glance at him.
"I don't know," Dean admitted, "but I just hope that she hasn't gotten herself into something too bad."
"I can't imagine what would motivate her to just leave in the middle of the night," Sam went on, "something must've made her do that."
The boys remained silent as his words hung between them, until Dean had a realization.
"What if it was Kara?" He asked, and Sam turned to look at him.
"I thought that she was done with Sarah after Dayton," Sam stated, his lips forming into a hard line.
"Maybe not," Dean responded, his eyes focused on the road in front of him. "I mean, what else would make her take off like that?"
The brothers grew silent after that, neither saying a word as they drove on the roads leading to Appalachia.
A/N: Please tell me what you think!
