She was up early and off to the lot. It was quiet which was the way she liked it. She sat at the desk staring at the paperwork in front of her. She was shocked to see Gemma walk in the door. She stared at her.
"Go on, get out of here. Be a kid for a little bit," she said.
Jocelyn nodded and got up from the desk. She saw Clay in the garage but didn't say anything to him. She walked over to the roof and climbed up. She sat there like she had done so many days before all of this. She stared down at the lot, watching the activity going on around there.
"Jocelyn," Tig called.
She leaned over the edge of the roof.
"What's up?" she asked.
"Come down here," he said.
She climbed down from the roof. She walked over to him. He gave her a tight hug before he left the lot. She hugged him back and breathed deep. They were all going to deal with something with Nero's crew. She sighed.
"Jocelyn's gonna ride with Hap," Jax said.
"What?" Tig asked.
"I need to take her with us. I don't want it to look too suspicious."
Jocelyn just went along with it. They ended up walking into a dog fighting ring. Jocelyn could see the look on her father's face the minute he saw the animals. She could see Missy cross his face and she knew it wasn't going to end well. She stuck close to Happy as they followed Tig out the back door. Happy held her close to his side. She saw her father put a gun to the guy's head. They demanded to know where Dante was. Jax looked at Phil.
"Take Jocelyn and the dog to the van," Jax said.
"Hap," Jocelyn said.
He just nodded, knowing exactly what she wanted. She wanted to know that he was going to keep her father safe. She followed Phil back out to the van with the dog. He lay the animal on a blanket in the back of the van. Jocelyn sat down next to her. She lightly patted the dogs head. The dog just whined. She sighed. They headed to the clubhouse. The dog was moved into the clubhouse where Chibs patched her up on the pool table. Jocelyn sat in a chair just watching him work. Jax had gone into the office with Tara. Jocelyn rolled her eyes. She wasn't worried about what those two were doing anymore. She wasn't really in the mood to deal with Jax's random behavior. He was acting more and more erratic as things went on. Jax came out of the back room. He took her dad out to handle some business on the dog fighting rings. She stayed behind not even getting a hug or a kiss from her dad before he left. Jax's behavior was even more off as they took off out of the clubhouse. It put Jocelyn on edge that only Jax and her father were going. She looked at Chibs. He kept working on the dog and shook his head.
"I don't know baby girl," he said.
*Meanwhile*
Tig had figured out what Jax was doing with handing him over to Pope. He was pissed.
"You are going to leave Jocelyn without a parent?" Tig asked.
Jax ignored him. Tig was punched in the stomach and all he could think about was that Jocelyn was going to be all alone. He hated that thought but he refused to show any more emotion about it. He was beyond pissed at Jax.
"She's going to hate you," Tig told Jax.
They stripped Tig of his Kutte and took tied him up. Then began to pull him back toward the garage. Tig couldn't believe it was coming down to this. He was the only parent his daughter had and he was going to be leaving her all alone for something stupid.
Jax came in and shot every one of the men except Pope. Tig was content to be the one to put the bullet in Pope's head. Tig was rattled when Jax put his hand on Tig's arm.
*Later*
When Tig and Jax pulled back onto the TM lot, Tig looked like he had aged a good five years. He walked into the clubhouse. He grabbed Jocelyn the minute he saw her and pulled her as close as he could to his chest. She had no idea what had gone on but she hugged him back. He kissed the top of her head and sighed heavily. She glanced at Jax who nodded at her. She gave him a weird look. She was still wondering what had happened while they were gone. Tig let her go and went to the bar to get a drink.
"Dad," she said.
"What?" he asked.
"Are you ok?"
"I'm perfect, baby."
"No you aren't. What happened?"
"Nothing baby. It's all right. Just a hard day."
She nodded, still not believing him. He stared at the drink in his hand for a minute. She looked at him. She moved back to the pool table and the dog. Jax looked at her from the door to the church. She stared at him.
"What the hell happened to my dad?" she asked.
"Jocelyn, you know how he is about animals," Jax said.
Jocelyn rolled her eyes.
"Cut the bullshit," she said.
"Jocelyn, he is here and he's fine, just chill," Jax said.
He took off to go deal with something. Jocelyn sat down next to her dad. She stared at him. He sighed heavily.
"We will talk at home," he said.
"Dad," she started.
"Jocelyn, stop,"
She got up from the stool and walked out the door. Juice showed up at the clubhouse a short time later. He went straight to his computer. He was still sitting there when Jax came back. Her father was sitting in a recliner with the dog in front of him. Jocelyn still wasn't buying all the bullshit. She was pissed off and she wanted them to all know it. She stormed into the kitchen to get something to drink and then stormed back out of the clubhouse. Tig sighed. Jocelyn went to the office and slammed the door. She wanted answers and if they weren't going to give them, she was going to ignore them all.
