Act IV: Generator

In the Vale docks at night time, two men dressed in black were robbing a ship, having just tied up the crew and hid them in a closet on board. They were taking out the crates that were in the ship.

"I'll tell you what Raiden, this might be the best score we have ever gotten!" one criminal said to the other.

"Yep Marsh, with all this dust, the profits we make off of this shipment, we'll be set for life." Raiden said to Marsh.

They set down the last crates in their truck. But then they heard footsteps.

They turned to the direction of the footsteps, and were surprised to see a red-hooded figure coming towards them.

"What the-?" Raiden said, puzzled.

"You two wanna know something?" the figure asked, in a girl voice.

"Fresh blood isn't red…it's maroon." The figure said to them. She was looking down to the ground while walking up the pair, but now she was looking straight at them. It was a 13 year old Ruby. She took off her hood, revealing her full face.

The criminals started chuckling. "Well would you look at the size of this girl's balls. Pretty stupid of you to mess with us kid." Raiden said to Ruby. "Get ready to pay the price." Marsh threatened.

But then Ruby grabbed her weapon and unfolded her newly-crafted scythe. The duo marveled at the sight of Crescent Rose, they also felt fear.

The two then decided to run but suddenly, in a blur of red roses, Ruby was in front of them. Then screams were heard.

The crew was still locked up in the closet but then the door opened and they saw a shadowy figure. The men felt scared and thought this figure was going to hurt them, especially when they saw the huge scythe at her side. But then using the scythe, Ruby freed the crew, cutting up their bonds.

Ruby then left the ship and left the docks.

She then returned home.

Her uncle told her to practice some more with her new scythe, outside the classroom and so, to do so, Ruby decided to help stop crime.

She felt happy to help out in the city and stop criminals. She always wanted to help people, especially since her parents told her to always help people. This was basically the reason why she choose to become a huntress. But she wanted to do some good deeds and not wait to be a huntress to help people.

She never asked for any rewards when helping people. She usually left the scene before the cops arrived. She knew she could be considered a vigilante so if the cops caught her she would be in trouble.

Despite this, her dad and uncle approved of her vigilantism and told to always be careful.

Yang thought it was really cool what Ruby was doing. Ruby convinced Yang to be a vigilante as well. The two helped a lot in the city, from getting cats stuck in trees, to stopping and incapacitating criminals.

The two eventually were given monikers by the police and the media. Yang was called the Gold Dragon. Ruby's alternated between Blood Reaper and Red Reaper.

The two began to be infamous among the criminal underground. The two were dangerous and they all the criminals knew this. Crime rates began to go down.

"Those two, Gold Dragon and Blood or Red Reaper whatever the hell she's called, they giving me and the organization too much trouble." The boss of the gang said. He was currently in his secret bunker and was talking to his top lieutenants.

"They're giving everyone trouble. Just last week they stopped the White Fang from stealing Dust from the Schnee Dust Co. warehouse." One of the men said to him.

"We need to come up with a plan to get rid of those two. We have a huge score coming up and we can't afford to have it ruined or else the organization is done for." The boss said.

The other man in the room proposed to the boss, "How about we ambush 'em?"

"What's that?" "We ambush them. When they two arrive to stop us, we have the whole organization out there and we take them by surprise and take 'em out of the picture." The man explained.

The boss contemplated this plan. "I like it. We'll have to give it all if we want to get rid of those two. Time to prepare." The boss said. The other men nodded and they gave word to the entire organization to mobilize.

Being that they were on vacation from school, Ruby and Yang were on the island with Uncle Qrow and their dad. They didn't have much to do so the two were always by the police radio the two had acquired, and were listening for crimes so that they could stop them.

But it was going slow.

Having finished playing in the snow, the sisters came into the house. They went back to the radio.

It seemed as though nothing interesting was going to happen that night when suddenly there was report of a huge Dust heist. Ruby and Yang looked at each other and they were both excited. They grabbed their weapons and headed out to Vale, unaware that they were going to walk into a trap.

They finally arrived in Vale, which fortunately was pretty close to the island, and went to the docks where a massive ship that contained an equally massive shipment of Dust, was raided.

Upon arriving at the docks, the two noticed the three men, dressed in black and had crates of Dust.

"Hey! Stop right there!" Ruby yelled to the men. The three men stopped and turned to look at them.

The sisters recognized the one of the men as the boss of a criminal syndicate that operated in Vale. They had seen his face on wanted posters. The other two they knew were top men in the organization, they also had wanted posters.

"Ah so we finally meet, the Gold Dragon and the Red Reaper. I've been waiting to meet you two face-to-face." The boss said, smugly.

"Well, here we are. We've been waiting to take you down." Yang replied.

"He-he I'd like to see you girls try." The boss replied.

Then out of the warehouses, a huge amount of men came out. They were all armed and ready to fight.

There were easily over a hundred thugs.

Ruby and Yang took a look at all the criminals surrounding them. The two then got out their weapons.

"He-He, let's get rid of them!" the boss yelled. Then they all attacked Ruby and Yang.

"H-How can this b-be?" the boss said, blood was dripping from his mouth and he was crawling on the ground.

It was a tough fight but Ruby and Yang were able to take out all the criminals. They were just too skilled for the thugs. They couldn't be touched and they easily incapacitated the thugs.

Ruby shot the boss and he was currently dying.

"You two…are monsters…" the boss said, frightened, he then coughed up blood.

"We're not the monsters, you are. We're the heroes meant to stop you and end your tyranny." Ruby replied to the boss. She then shot him one more time, and killed him.

"Looks like the organization is done for. The boss is dead and so are his top men. Everyone else is either dead or just out of it. Sirens. Let's get out of here." Yang said to Ruby. Ruby nodded and the two fled the scene.

The cops arrived and saw all the bodies on the ground. There were all surprised to see the scene. The then saw the boss was dead as were the other high-ranking men in the organization. The cops began arresting the thugs that remained.

The organization was done for

Taking down the organization immortalized the two sisters as legends in Vale. The mayor gave them both medals but since no one claimed to be the Gold Dragon or the Reaper, the mayor put the medals in city hall and put them in a plaque and hanged it on a wall in the lobby.

Ruby and Yang did go to Vale and looked at the medals. Yang suggested stealing them, or as she put it 'claiming them' since they were theirs technically but Ruby persuaded her to not take them. "It's not about the rewards Yang, it's about doing the right thing." Ruby said to Yang. Yang wanted the medals but decided to agree with Ruby.

For the next two years, Ruby and Yang helped with the crime in Vale. The crime rates in Vale lowered significantly. The vigilantes were lauded as heroes in Vale. The people never discovered who the two were though,

With Ruby and Yang's acceptance into Beacon however, the activity of the Gold Dragon and the Reaper stopped. But they weren't needed. Vale had become a lot safer and crime was still down.
