Three Weeks Later - End of November
The dawn had come and George found himself sweeping the step of the joke shop, trying hard to have a semblance of normalcy even though it had been three weeks since the abductions of Allison Longbottom and Scorpius Malfoy. December and snow were quickly approaching.
As George finished and was debating about whether or not to make roof repairs before it got too cold to do it, he suddenly saw a small figure walk into the village by the back entrance that was on the edge of some woods. Almost immediately, George recognized the figure as being Allison Longbottom and was shocked at how roughed up she appeared to be.
"ANGELINA!" George hollered as he popped open the door and yelled inside. "ANGELINA!"
There was a gasp and Angelina came running down the steps having been scared out of bed by George's shouting, "George, what's all the shouting for?" she asked in a groggy voice.
"Allison Longbottom's walking down the path!" George yelped. "Floo the Ministry now!"
Angelina's eyes widened and she ran towards the fireplace while George dropped his broom and ran down the path towards Allison, "Miss Longbottom!" he called out anxiously.
"Hi," Allison spoke quietly, her voice trembling as she had been instructed to do by Kadir.
George's eyes softened and he sighed, deeply compassionate to how Allison must be feeling, "How about we get you out of the cold?" he asked gently, expecting an angry answer.
Allison shrugged, "Your family will be very happy to see you," George spoke gently as he guided her down the path towards his shop. "The Ministry has been searching for you and Scorpius."
"Where's my Mum?" Allison asked softly, seeing that the pub was dark and looked closed.
George sighed, "She worked in the Leaky Cauldron last night," he replied gently. "Come on."
Swallowing hard, Allison allowed George to lead her into the warmth of the joke shop.
"Neville, you've got to stop pacing," Hermione said in an anxious voice as the two of them stood together in the courtyard, waiting for the Ministry to deliver Allison back to school.
Neville sighed, but did stop, "I can't believe Allison appeared on her own coming into Hogsmeade," he replied anxiously, his eyes filled with tears. "I thought she and Scorpius would be together and both of them would come back together. I'm happy she's safe, but I'm…"
"Worried about Scorpius," Hermione finished quietly. "Neville, I don't know what to say."
Neville nodded and crossed his arms, "I expect the Ministry wanted to talk to her and debrief her right away because she's been gone three weeks," he spoke nervously. "The diary that Rose found might be a sticky subject and it would certainly explain her behaviors as of late…"
"And the Prophet will probably want a story as well," Hermione commented anxiously, deeply relieved that it was early enough that most students were still asleep and unaware of things.
Neville scoffed and frowned as he suddenly spotted a weathered looking Draco slowly making his way up the school steps, "He couldn't have heard about Allison already," he gasped, realizing that Draco would not be happy when he found out that only Allison had returned.
"I was in Hogsmeade," Draco spoke numbly. "I woke to hearing yelling about Allison and I was hoping that Scorpius had come home. I haven't been able to come sooner because of my…"
Hermione frowned, "I'm sorry, Draco," she apologized softly. "I don't think Scorpius was found along with Allison. From what Neville was told by the Ministry, only Allison was in Hogsmeade."
Draco's face darkened and his eyes narrowed, "I knew your fool of a husband and the other Aurors didn't care about Scorpius because he's a Malfoy," he hissed. "Are they even trying?"
"Draco, Ron's been trying his best," Hermione protested sadly. "As are the other Aurors."
Draco scoffed just as Harry, Ron, and a shaken looking Allison came up the steps, "Allison!" Neville exclaimed in an anxious voice as he embraced his daughter. "I'm glad you're safe!"
"I'm happy I'm safe, Daddy," Allison whispered softly, returning the hug. "I'm tired."
Neville nodded and released her, "I'll take you to the Great Hall and we'll have some breakfast," he spoke softly, deeply relieved to have his daughter back. "Draco, I sincerely apologize…"
Draco, however, was glaring daggers at Harry and Ron, "What about my son?" he snapped.
Harry sighed, "We haven't got any leads," he replied apologetically. "I'm so sorry."
Draco snarled at Ron, "You and your prejudices against Malfoys are keeping you from doing your bloody job, you impertinent weasel!" he shouted angrily as he lunged at Ron.
"NO!" Hermione shouted in an anxious voice, shocked that Ron and Draco were brawling.
Harry anxiously scrambled to get his wand out, but before he could use it, Ron and Draco were blasted apart, "Brawling like schoolchildren isn't going to solve ANYTHING!" Severus, who had been alerted to Allison's return and was coming to help, snarled as he came into view with his wand out and an angry expression on his face. "You are both seasoned adults. ACT PROPER!"
"The Ministry doesn't care about Scorpius!" Draco snapped as he stood up. "They never did!"
Hermione anxiously helped Ron to his feet while Severus pulled Draco aside, "My mother said you haven't been to Keresley once to check things since Scorpius was taken!" Draco snarled, glaring at Ron and Harry. "Your brother was an idiot to trust you with such an assignment!"
"You're bleeding, Draco," Severus hissed. "Come to my office and I'll patch you up."
Casting a final glare at Harry and Ron, Draco allowed Severus to lead him into the castle, "I'm not sure what they did to Scorpius, Daddy," Allison whispered as she stood close to Neville.
"I know," Neville replied anxiously, unsurprised at Draco's anger towards the Ministry. "I'm going to take Allison inside and get her something to eat. I also have to contact Hannah."
Hermione nodded and watched Neville lead Allison inside, "Narcissa asked us not to visit because she felt we weren't doing enough to help find Scorpius, but I know she and Charlie write back and forth," Harry quietly admitted, deeply ashamed of what had happened.
"You two should get back to the Ministry," Hermione replied crossly. "I need to go to Ravenclaw Tower and wake Frank Longbottom up. He'll want to know about his sister."
"…You're a hopeless dueller, boy," Lucius snarled as he shot another curse at Scorpius, who allowed it to hit him instead of striking back or shielding it because he could barely stand.
Scorpius coughed anxiously, but said nothing, "You're supposed to be my grandson and you defend yourself like a worthless Muggle!" Lucius shouted angrily. "Why won't you fight?!"
Swallowing hard, Scorpius said nothing, "CRUCIO!" Lucius screamed, brandishing his wand.
Scorpius howled in pain as the familiar jet of red hit him in the chest and sent him to the floor, writhing and seizing uncontrollably. It was hard enough to stand on his already broken leg.
"I would kill you, but Kadir won't allow it," Lucius snarled. "He thinks you'll be useful."
Scorpius gasped, but said nothing because he knew that Lucius would only use his words as a reason to torture him more, "I'll get a House Elf to bring you some bread," Lucius hissed angrily as he marched towards the dungeon door. "It wouldn't do to have you starve to death."
Ignoring Scorpius's tears, Lucius banged out of the dungeon and locked the door with his wand before proceeding upstairs to where Kadir was sitting at a table with several Death Eaters including an amused Umbridge, "Scorpius is stubborn," Lucius grumbled angrily.
"I'm sure his father will come looking for him soon," Kadir replied confidently.
Lucius frowned, "Draco is a werewolf and incapable," he hissed in a doubtful voice.
"Draco is also a father, you idiot," Kadir hissed as he pulled his wand out. "Crucio."
Swearing loudly, Lucius screamed as a jet of red light hit him and sent him to the floor.
"This should help," Severus said in a quiet voice as he silently pressed a Healing Potion against the nasty cut on Draco's face that came from Ron. "How long til your next transformation?"
Draco sighed, "Christmas," he replied quietly. "I'll have to scour the countryside til then."
"I can make your job considerably easier," Severus replied quietly, having been told where a key to Scorpius's whereabouts was currently hiding. "I am privy to certain information."
Draco frowned, but said nothing, "From what I am told, former Slytherin student Alana Darmouth is no longer in the company of Kadir and the Death Eaters," Severus spoke quietly as he moved Draco's hand to check the cut. "I believe she knows where Scorpius might be."
"She will never talk to me," Draco replied softly. "Lucius will have poisoned her mind."
Severus gave Draco a look, "If you want to find your son alive, Draco, you will have to trust my words," he replied sharply. "Go to the Hog's Head and explain your plight. She will talk."
"I need to go to Hogsmeade anyway to rest before I start my journey," Draco replied quietly.
Severus nodded and silently handed Draco a small bag, "Supplies," he said quietly.
"Please watch after my son when he gets back," Draco said, a sad look in his eyes.
Before Severus could reply, Draco silently and quickly left the office and Severus found himself going to the Great Hall to see how everyone was adjusting to Allison's return. To his surprise, the Great Hall was empty and quiet except for Neville and Allison eating at a corner table.
"Professor Snape?" Severus suddenly heard Hermione ask. "What are you doing?"
Severus turned to see Hermione with an excited Frank at her heels, "Did Scorpius come with Allison?" Frank asked eagerly. "Allison's a good sister and Scorpius is like a brother…"
"Allison returned alone," Severus replied quietly. "She is in the Great Hall with your father."
Frank nodded, but didn't move, "Is Scorpius dead?" he asked in a worried voice.
"Young Mister Longbottom, I am not sure," Severus replied softly. "Do you wish to see Allison?"
Frank shrugged, "Maybe after she's had some time," he replied anxiously. "I'm scared."
Severus raised an eyebrow, "You may return to your Common Room then," he replied.
Nodding, Frank hurried back up the stairs and Severus sighed heavily before retreating to the dungeons in hopes of getting some sleep before he had to teach. He felt absolutely terrible.
"…Is anyone coming, Albus?" Severus suddenly heard Adeleina ask in a nervous voice.
There were footsteps, "I don't see anyone, Adeleina," Severus heard Albus say quietly.
Severus marched down the corridor and frowned when he saw Albus, Molly, and Adeleina outside the portrait hole holding a badly wrapped item, "Freeze," he commanded sternly.
"Sir, we saw the Aurors from the window and thought Scorpius might be back," Albus said.
Severus frowned, "Miss Longbottom returned alone," he replied solemnly. "The Ministry is still searching for Scorpius and I am sure Miss Longbottom will provide information to help them."
Albus frowned and his eyes went wide, "Was his dad here?" he asked in a worried voice.
Severus nodded, but said nothing, "Mister Malfoy said he'd die for Scorpius if anything ever happened to him,"Albus spoke quietly. "He wasn't trusting of the Ministry finding his son."
"Albus, shush," Molly hissed anxiously. "You only talked to him for a bit in the infirmary."
Albus shook his head, "Scorp's Dad said he was gonna go find Scorp because the Ministry only cared about Allison," he confessed softly. "He told me this when I was in the Hospital Wing…"
Heartsick about what he had encouraged, Severus sank to his knees and stared at the floor.
The Hog's Head was quiet and although Aaron missed his children, he knew he and Amelia had done the right thing in sending Remus and Rianna to Hogwarts. They would be safer there given the circumstances he himself was now facing.
Amelia was off at the village market doing shopping and so Aaron was alone and found himself cleaning as if he expected guests. Alana was upstairs, sound asleep in the guest quarters.
As Aaron finished sweeping, the pub door opened and an exhausted looking Draco came in and looked around, "I need to speak to Alana Darmouth," he spoke quietly. "About Scorpius."
"Alana's asleep and you look ill," Aaron spoke firmly. "Why don't you sit and have…?"
Draco growled, "I endure another transformation cycle at Christmastime and I want to save my son from my wretched father and his master," he hissed. "I do not have time to sit and relax."
"You're Draco Malfoy," Aaron spoke, recognizing Draco. "I'm so sorry that your son wasn't found along with that Longbottom girl. I got the paper and saw that. If there's anything I…"
Spotting the paper on the bar counter, Draco picked it up and skimmed it, "I have a source who says that Alana may know where Scorpius is," he spoke quietly. "I need to speak with her."
"You're welcome to wait til she wakes," Aaron replied calmly. "Alana…is very ill with child."
Draco frowned, but said nothing, "Professor Snape told me to talk to Alana about my son," he finally said in a tired voice. "If you yourself have any knowledge, that would save me time."
"I have knowledge of plenty, just not that," Aaron replied calmly. "Sit down and rest."
Draco scoffed, but sat down, "Are you afraid the Ministry might stop you?" Aaron asked.
Before Draco could reply, there were footsteps and Alana, who had woken early and had seen Draco coming, came down the stairs looking sicker than ever and extremely heavy with child, "I saw you coming, Mister Malfoy," she spoke quietly. "I assume something's happened?"
Draco held the paper up, "Allison Longbottom was found alone and was safely returned to Hogwarts early this morning," he explained frostily. "Nobody's too concerned about my son."
Alana silently pointed her wand at the door and muttered something before turning to face Draco, "Kadir's mansion is in an obscure place, but easy to access if you know where to go," she spoke in a quiet voice as she reached into the pocket of her robes and extracted a map.
"This will get you where you need to go," Alana spoke softly. "It's poorly guarded, but there are Anti-Apparition defenses for about 20 miles in the woods around it, so you'll have to walk."
Draco nodded, "I'm going to die when my baby is born anyway, so I might as well try to save what is left of my soul," Alana spoke softly. "I really hope that Scorpius is found alive."
"I hope so too," Draco spoke softly as he edged towards the door. "Thank you for this."
Alana nodded and sighed as Draco silently fled from the pub, "The noblest of hearts, Miss Darmouth, are not always sorted into the noblest of Houses," Aaron spoke quietly.
Anxiety filled Severus's heart as he sat alone in the privacy of his office, absolutely disgusted with himself for not stopping Draco. It was very likely that Draco would die saving Scorpius.
After Draco had left and Albus had explained Draco's intent, Severus had sent out a message that he was unfit to teach that day and needed a substitute. He had also locked himself in his office and had refused to see anyone; he needed to carry this burden of guilt by himself.
He had silently written a letter to Narcissa with what he knew and had sent it via the Floo because he didn't trust that the owl wouldn't be intercepted. He planned to resign and when Draco turned up dead, he would willingly turn himself in as the one responsible for it.
As Severus sat in his armchair, trying to get warm by the fire, there was a small hiss and he was shocked to see LeighAnn come out of the fireplace with an anxious looking, very heavily pregnant Amythest at her side, "Father," Amythest spoke quietly. "Narcissa contacted us."
"How did you get here so quickly living in two different places?" Severus whispered.
Amythest and LeighAnn looked at each other, "We're fraternal twins and we do get together quite often," LeighAnn replied in an amused voice. "Narcissa told us about your message."
"I'm responsible for encouraging it," Severus spoke quietly. "I deserve to be arrested."
Amythest scoffed, "Really, Father, we went to school with Draco and were in his House, so we know how stubborn he was," she replied calmly. "Narcissa said he had planned this all along."
"I can't bring myself to face anyone at the moment," Severus spoke quietly as tears appeared.
LeighAnn nodded, "I can take your class and Amythest will stay with you," she spoke softly.
Severus sighed, but didn't protest, "Percy's got the day off and so he's at the Burrow with Michael, Lucy, and his Mum," LeighAnn spoke calmly. "Stacey's off making wedding plans."
Nodding, LeighAnn silently removed the lesson plan from her father's death and left the office so she would get to class on time. She silently made her way to the Potions classroom and was surprised to find Albus sitting alone in the front of the classroom, silently reading his book.
"Hello there, young Mister Potter," LeighAnn spoke softly. "You're a bit early for class."
Albus nodded, "I wasn't hungry," he replied quietly. "Where's Professor Snape?"
"Professor Snape isn't up to teaching today," LeighAnn replied quietly. "He's ill."
Albus sighed, "Because of what I told him about Scorpius's dad?" he asked worriedly.
"I went to school with Scorpius's father, Albus, and he was very stubborn and strong-willed back then too," LeighAnn replied calmly. "Please don't feel guilty about this anymore."
Albus nodded, "We've got two new classmates, did anyone tell you?" he asked softly.
"Molly wrote and told us," LeighAnn replied calmly. "Remus is in Slytherin with you, right?"
Albus smiled and nodded, sighing heavily as he heard footsteps. A moment later, a large group of students came into the room and took desks around the room while Molly and Adeleina sat at the front with Albus, none of them wanting to fill the empty fourth seat at their desk.
As the noise level rose, Remus and Rianna came into the room and they sat together at a corner desk with Lorcan while Lysander and Rose sat behind with a reluctant Adrian, "Welcome to class, everyone," LeighAnn spoke in a formal tone. "Professor Snape is ill today, but my name is Professor Weasley, wife of Percy Weasley, and we'll be reviewing the potions you've done so far in both theory and practical application. I trust everyone has their books with them?"
Murmurs filled the class and LeighAnn nodded as she looked at the lesson plan calculatingly.
"It's strange being back," Allison commented softly as she sat in the library, deeply relieved that the only one with her was her father. "I wasn't around people when I was there, just books…"
Neville nodded calmly and watched as Allison pulled a book off the shelf, "I bought the diary in a store in Diagon Alley and I thought it was cute," Allison spoke softly, wanting her father to think it was the diary in her trunk because Kadir had told her it was gone. "I honestly didn't…"
"I do not blame you," Neville replied quietly. "I often used diaries to vent my feelings at Hogwarts because there were times when I felt alone. I know you've felt very alone here."
Allison nodded, but said nothing, "I had a friend when I was in school that was bewitched by a diary very similar to what happened to you," Neville spoke softly. "If you'd like a diary for your feelings, I'll be more than happy to make you one or buy you one from somewhere safe."
Nodding, Allison opened the history book she was holding, "Oh, you found a book about Dumbledore, did you?" Neville asked gently. "We just got a couple Dumbledores as students."
"Really?" Allison asked quietly. "I don't really know much about any Dumbledores except…"
Neville nodded, "My old headmaster," he replied calmly. "Apparently, he had a son and the son has a family. I'm afraid I don't know a great deal beyond that, but the son's kids are very nice."
Allison sighed, "Is Mum coming to see me?" she asked in a quiet voice. "I've missed her."
"Yes," Neville replied reassuringly. "You don't have to go to classes if you don't want to today and your mother should be here later on. She wanted to get things from Diagon Alley for you."
Allison frowned, "Your eyes are sad, Daddy," she commented. "Are you worried about him?"
"Yes, I am worried about Scorpius very much," Neville replied calmly. "He's all alone now."
Allison sighed, "I honestly don't know where they took him," she spoke softly. "I'm sorry."
Sighing, Neville put an arm around Allison, "I know, daughter," he replied. "I know."
"AVADA KEDAVRA!" Kadir roared, seething with fury as a Death Eater, who had brought him news of Alana's disappearance and betrayal of their location, fell to the ground lifeless.
Lucius frowned anxiously, not daring to speak to any of the other Death Eaters who were in the room at Kadir's request, "Lucius, go to the edge of the Anti-Apparition barrier," Kadir ordered in a cold voice, giving Lucius a look. "My crystal sensors tell me that someone is approaching."
"Why send Lucius alone?" Umbridge asked coldly. "What if his son has come to rescue…?"
Kadir glared at Umbridge threateningly, "Draco and Scorpius will die either way," he replied in a threatening voice. "If not in here, they'll die of starvation and cold trying to find their way."
Before Umbridge could reply, Lucius quickly left the room, "You ought not to speak, Umbridge, as it seems your dear nephew has been working for the Ministry to try and find the Malfoy brat," Kadir spoke sharply as he produced letters. "My security made copies of these."
"WHAT?!" Umbridge screeched angrily. "Alexander sent those letters to the Ministry?!"
Kadir smirked as Umbridge grabbed the letters and stomped from the room swearing loudly.
"Aaron," Aaron Dumbledore, who had travelled to the Ministry on business, swallowed hard when he heard Kingsley's voice penetrate the silence that had greeted his quiet arrival.
Sighing, Aaron stood and brushed his suit before reaching into his pocket and extracting a letter bearing the official seal of MACUSA, "It came a few days ago," he replied in a quiet voice.
"Does your family know of this?" Kingsley asked quietly as he studied the letter.
Aaron shook his head, "I can't keep secrets from Amelia, but Remus and Rianna don't know," he replied shakily. "They hated me enough because I had a Muggle mother, but when I got my children their wands through Ollivander and when I came to help my uncle, it was enough."
"You and your family are welcome here," Kingsley replied. "How is your uncle faring?"
Aaron sighed, "Not well, but he is getting on in years," he replied anxiously.
"At least MACUSA didn't order your death for disobeying orders to stay in America," Kingsley replied in a concerned voice. "A permanent deportation order for disregarding a wizarding travel ban is a very light punishment considering what the Ministry over there is capable of."
Aaron nodded, "You and your wife are perfectly welcome to run the Hog's Head and your children are welcome enough at Hogwarts," Kingsley said. "Is there anything else you need?"
"For this to not make the paper," Aaron replied nervously. "I don't need the attention."
Kingsley nodded, "Have you thought about joining the Order of the Phoenix?" he asked.
"Is this because Alana Darmouth is in hiding with us?" Aaron asked, grateful that they were in the safety of the Minister's office. "She thinks she's going to die after she has the baby…"
Kingsley nodded, "Alana asked for no Aurors," Aaron replied firmly. "Especially not after…"
There was a heavy silence, "Draco Malfoy showed up at the Hog's Head this morning because he believed that Alana knows where Scorpius is," Aaron stated softly. "Alana told him."
Kingsley swore under his breath, "We've been trying everything we can to find Scorpius Malfoy," he argued firmly. "We tried talking to Allison Longbottom, but she had no information about where he might be. Aurors talked to her before we released her back to her family."
Aaron sighed, "A father will do what he can for his children," he replied quietly. "If Alana's going to die, I believe her attempt is to try and salvage what she can of her soul before she goes."
"I'll be stationing extra Aurors around Hogwarts and Hogsmeade to be on hand to help Draco should he succeed in finding his son," Kingsley spoke quietly. "Will you support my decision?"
Knowing he had very little choice but to protect what he had left, Aaron silently nodded.
Dark clouds and freezing air greeted Lucius Malfoy as he silently made his way to the edge of the Anti-Apparition barrier that Kadir had put in place. He could see that Draco was there, clad in ragged clothes with his wand out and silently studying the obstacle that lay before him.
The sight of his father weathered by evil shocked Draco, but neither Malfoy said nothing and simply studied each other, "Come to rescue your brat?" Lucius finally asked in a cold voice.
"Yes," Draco replied coldly, hatred for his father strong. "I won't allow him to die here."
Lucius looked amused, "Do you really think you and he will survive this cold winter running through the woods like Muggles?" he asked in a dark voice. "You're better off staying…"
Draco said nothing and instead raised his wand, "Oh, is that how you want to play?" Lucius asked in a cruel voice as he raised his wand. "You're doing no favors to yourself by this."
"This isn't about me," Draco replied angrily. "Now stand aside or I will use my wand…"
Lucius cackled, "You snotty little werewolf…" he started in a dark, amused voice.
"SECTUMSEMPRA!" Draco screamed with all his might as he brandished his wand.
Lucius screamed in agony and collapsed as endless cuts appeared all over his body and he began to bleed uncontrollably. Swallowing hard, Draco began to run through the woods and just as he began to get tired, a gruesome looking, large mansion suddenly came into view.
Trembling anxiously, Draco found himself quietly exploring the yard, trying to figure out where in the vast mansion Scorpius could be. He knew that Kadir might want to train Scorpius.
The sight of a root cellar near the back of the mansion, however, caught Draco's eye and he instantly knew that Scorpius was being held. Well aware that he could be caught and killed at any moment by Kadir's supporters, Draco approached the cellar and found it easy to open.
Faint, anxious breathing greeted Draco as he climbed down into the cold cellar and he immediately saw Scorpius huddled against a wall wearing his badly torn school uniform with his hands on his left leg, "Scorpius," Draco spoke softly as he moved forward. "Scorpius, it's Dad."
Scorpius looked up at Draco, but said nothing, "Come on," Draco spoke softly. "Let's go."
"I can't walk, Dad," Scorpius spoke, his voice embroiled in tears. "My…my leg's broken."
Nodding, Draco silently picked Scorpius up in his arms and moved over to the open trapdoor, half expecting Kadir's minions ambush them and lock them in the cellar, "Up you go," Draco spoke shakily as he lifted Scorpius up to the ground before climbing up to the yard himself.
The yard was quiet as Draco picked Scorpius back up and silently began to walk the way he had come, "I love you," he spoke shakily. "Hold tight to me and I'll do my best to protect us."
Scorpius nodded and huddled against his father's chest for warmth, "I'm so glad you came for me, Dad," he finally whispered, tears falling down his heavily bruised face. "I love you."
"How touching," Kadir breathed as he stood at the window of his chambers, silently watching Draco carry Scorpius through the woods away from the mansion. "You'd rather die of cold."
A heavy silence filled Kadir's chamber and he snapped his fingers, pursing his lips as a terrified House Elf appeared, "Termina, go to the edge of the Anti-Apparition barrier and stop Lucius from bleeding to death," he ordered coldly, having seen the attack on Lucius through his crystal security sensors. "Retrieve him and return to me AT ONCE!"
Termina nodded anxiously and vanished from the room, leaving Kadir to stand there at the window and silently hope that Draco and Scorpius would die quickly from the harshness of winter. As much as he hated them both, Kadir was not going to foolishly waste precious Death Eaters to kill a father and son when there were so many greater things that needed accomplishing.
