Renny: HOLY CRAP I'VE DONE 50 CHAPTERS.
Green: . . . I have nothing to say to this.
Renny: I can't believe this. I. cannot. Believe. This.
Red: Uh, it's right there, so why can't you-
Renny: RED SHUT UP AND LET ME BE SHOCKED.
Red: O-ok.
Green: So are we gonna get on with this chapter now or what?
Renny: Gimme a few more seconds. EEEEEEEEEEE 50 CHAPTERS!
Green: *sighs*
Red: Maybe we should do the disclaimer and stuff?
Green: Yeah, sure. Renny doesn't own pokemon, and I apologise for anyone who reads this AN since she's gone a bit crazy.
Renny: SHUT YOUR FACE. On with the show!
OOOOOO
Hey again!
Remember me? Oh, of course you do!
But just in case, I'll refresh your memories. It's me, Eon the Flareon! Last time I spoke to you, I was an Eevee, right?
Well, now I'm an epic Fire type!
Also I love movies. And the messages they send, oh, they're so great! Now I understand why this entire journey has worked so far- it's because of friendship! Just like in Lemonade Mouth, friendship has helped everyone in the team to be a better person.
First, Green. Do I even need to say it? He's a better person then he was before, which I don't really know much about, but he's a good person. There may be some people and pokemon who say he hasn't changed, that he's just putting on an act, but I say otherwise!
Second, Ice. He's recently started getting mad at me for talking about friendship and all that, and how awesome I can be, but he's definitely a better person as well. According to Twin and Amethyst, he used to be so grumpy it was like he was a Dark type. Well, they didn't say that bit, but still.
Third, Twin! What can I say about her? Hah, well, by becoming a team player she's actually learnt the most powerful Flying attack there is, and she and Green have even worked out a few different ways to use it! I think there's the normal Sonic Wind, Alpha Sonic Wind, and then Omega Sonic Wind.
I'm not actually sure about Ziba, but I do know she's a good pokemon deep down. She might act like she'd rather be somewhere else, or she might just be alright around Green and frosty to the rest of us, but I know she cares.
Me, Tick and Amethyst are all pretty good at the friendship stuff anyway, so we don't need much help in those departments. But sometimes I guess everyone needs help, like Tick did, so we're gonna get better as well.
"Alright, let's go Aggron!"
Ah, right, the battle! I get to show off now! Finally.
The Aggron that comes out roars loudly, but I'm not that bothered. Even if I lose, I know I've shown my stuff.
"Hey there!" I grin.
" . . . Normally other pokemon are terrified when I come out." The massive Steel type says. "Aren't you the least bit scared?"
"Nope."
Aggron stares at me for a few seconds before shrugging. "You're funeral, mate."
"And you're invited!"
He's startled when I suddenly jump up into the air and cover myself in Embers. He probably weighs more than a tonne, so I don't think he can move fast, but he surprises me as well.
Aggron smirks and casually moves to the side, and I crash into the rock behind him. My Embers leak away and fade, and I get up, shaking my head slightly.
Wow, he's good. Ok, so it won't be easy, that's cool! I love a good challenge. Always gets the blood pumping, you know?
I turn back to him, sporting a determined grin.
"Let's dance, big guy." I tell him.
"I'd put on some music if I could, but I'd probably break the disc player." He shoots back.
Ooooh, this is so gonna be fun.
"Dig!" I hear Green call.
So we're playing that game, huh? Sweet.
I shoot one last look at Aggron just before his face falls, and then dash over to a sand pit. He might be faster than he looks, but I'm smaller and more agile, so I make it to the pit before he makes it to me with a Metal Claw. I Dig into the sand quickly.
I think the sand has actually been spread all over the field, but under it obviously, with a few bits where I can pop up and attack. Thank Mew for that, otherwise I'd be stuck in a single tiny pit of sand. If Aggron or his Trainer has any sense, he'd stay away from the pits.
But how many are there, exactly? I dunno. Hopefully there's enough so that he can't avoid me even if I play Whack-A-Diglett with him or something.
Turns out there are more than enough. I can pop up anywhere and soon enough I've memorised most of the sand pits' locations. I use the vibrations from the steel flooring, which is even more prominent because Aggron is so heavy, and go towards one of the pits where I know Aggron is.
I come up and grin. He's not facing me, he's looking around and trying to figure out where I am.
Looking in the wrong place, buddy!
I hear Jasmine shout a warning just as I burst up, but I know I'll get Aggron before he gets me. I just hope he doesn't unleash a Ground move or something, that'd be horrible for me.
I spin in the air just before I crash into him, and my tail whacks him in the face. Did you know a Flareon's tail is actually sort of like one of those electric heaters? I can control the amount of heat in my tail, kinda like that. So when I hit Aggron with my tail, it's actually really, really hot.
He roars and staggers back, clutching the spot where I hit him. I can see it's kind of reddish, but not enough so that the metal on his skin would break or melt or something. Hey, I'm not barbaric! I like fighting, not killing. There's a huge difference.
Anyway.
He recovers, the spot still reddish, and charges at me with another Metal Claw. I jump and dodge the attack, and end up smacking right into his tail, which is encased in metal as well.
Iron Tail. Should have seen that one coming.
He hits me like I'm a rounder ball all the way to the other side of the field, where Green is. I bounce a few times before stopping. Ow, that hurt like heck . . . and I thought Steel moves wouldn't hurt me that much. Boy, was I mistaken . . . maybe Aggron's really, really strong?
"Eon, you ok?" Green asks me.
"Yep, never better!" I say, even though I'm struggling to stand up again.
I think that Iron Tail hit my legs. It would certain explain why I' can hardly stand.
"Um, what's my health like?" I ask Green. I wonder if it's in the red.
He checks, and does a double-take.
"Uh . . . kinda half." He reports. "How did one blow do that much damage?"
"I dunno, but let's hope I don't take another one otherwise we'd lose." I tell him.
The fact that I'm also in danger of dying isn't mentioned, but oh well. Like I said before, I wanna die a hero's death, and if it means helping Green win against a massive beast like Aggron, then so be it!
I shake my head so I can get myself back in the game. I hope Green sees my determination, because I'm not giving up until either I'm out, or Aggron is.
Come at me, bro!
I let Embers roll across my fur like before, and then charge at Aggron. His eyes widen as if he hadn't expected a frontal attack with a special move, but that's my style I guess- surprise the opponent with a weird attack and beat them with it.
Or maybe he's just surprised I'm trying to get close again.
Whichever.
I jump onto a rock and then bounce off that with the spring coming from my back paws, and then end up on his head while he's still kind of reeling. Aggron roars and tries to get me off his head with his arms, but I keep the heat from the Embers upwards, which keeps his hands away from me.
The power in the Embers goes to his head. I'm not gonna melt his metal, like I said before I'm not a killer, but hopefully I can get him to give in before anything else happens to me.
It kinda sounds like I'm a killer, though. I'm not, honestly.
Aggron roars and starts to swing his head around. I yelp and dig my claws in as best as I can without burning his metal off, while also trying to simultaneously keep the energy going down and the heat going up.
It's not easy, I'll tell you that.
He manages to dislodge me a bit, and then suddenly I'm being flung into a rock nearby. The force of my hit and the energy from the Embers make it crack in two, and I land kind of in the middle of the split rock.
"Owww . . ."I moan.
"Eon, get up!" I hear Green shout. "He's coming!"
I want to get up, but I can't seem to get my legs moving. I know that, without a doubt, my health is in the red right now. Maybe I'm even about to die.
"Not gonna get up and smack talk?" Aggron asks me. He's not being mean, he's actually curious. "Flareon?"
"Just . . . give me a minute . . ." I gasp out.
"This battle, mate. There's no minutes."
Figures. Oh well. At least I'll go down fighting!
A sudden burst of energy makes me stagger to my feet. I glance at my fur, and see that it's on fire- not like how I make the Embers kind of dance around me, but literally. The flames are kind of coming off my fur like my fur is the source, which it probably is.
I look up at Aggron, and he looks incredibly terrified and shocked.
"Um, is that meant to happen?" Jasmine asks worriedly.
"I . . . I've never seen this." Green says breathlessly.
"Eon, you have a shot!"
I look up at the benches. To my surprise, Ziba is the one shouting. She's on her feet, scythes extended fully, and the rest of the team are looking at her in shock.
"Take it!"
I can't really understand why she's so eager at the moment. I thought she was an Ice Queen really, only nice to Green or something, but I guess she really is a good pokemon.
" . . . Gotcha!" I shout back, grinning.
Aggron tears his eyes away from Ziba and back to the battle. Too late, sucker!
I crash into him as I charge at full speed, and then we keep going, my own momentum keeping us going. The flames coming off my fur become kind of blue, and the energy gives me even more strength.
I grip Aggron's clawed hand with my jaws, and grin at him. He roars and tries to hit me with a Metal Claw from his other hand, but I abruptly stop and physically swing him around by the hand in my jaws. He screeches and I keep spinning him.
I let go.
Aggron ends up crashing into at least five different rocks, bounces/crashes a couple of times, and then lands in a crumbled heap in front of Jasmine, who looks very shocked indeed. I woop and let out my victory-cry, and then shake the blue flames off my fur. I turn to Green.
"How awesome was that?" I ask him.
"U-um . . . I . . . I don't know what to say." Green whispers. "That . . . was beyond amazing . . ."
"That. Was. EPIC!" I shout.
Oh yeah, I'm so figuring out how I used that move and giving it a name.
oooo
Later that night, I wake up from my bed. By now the whole team has basically just moved into Green's room, in case he has another nightmare, so it feels a bit overcrowded. But it's kinda nice, so I don't mind.
But there's someone missing.
I yawn and stretch, and look around when I'm sitting up. Ice is on the floor, Twin is perched on the end of the bed, Tick's snuggled up with Green, Amethyst is curled into a rocky ball on the floor next to Ice, and I'm on the bed. That leaves Ziba.
She's meant to be on the floor as well, but she isn't where she was when I last saw her. That means she's either walked out or she's been kidnapped.
Most likely she just walked out for some reason, but secretly I hope she's been kidnapped so I can have a little miniature adventure like some of the pokemon shorts I saw on this site called YouTube. That would so, so cool, and I'd be a hero!
I get up and slowly sneak out of the room. Maybe she's on the roof or something? She can fly, for longer than the majority of her species can actually, which is really unusual. According to Ice anyway.
True to my theory, she's on the roof. Kind of leaning back against the chimney bit, she's sitting down and slowly running her blades over each other, like she's sharpening them or something. She looks down to her blades and brings one up to her face, and studies it for a while.
I announce myself by tapping the roof gently, and she looks over calmly. I can't see the half of her face where it's been ripped away by something she refuses to tell us about, but I can see her other side. She looks normal.
"Hello, Eon." Ziba greets me. "Could you not sleep as well?"
"I could, but I noticed you were gone so I went to find you." I tell her. "Can I sit here?"
"I have no reason to refuse."
Sounds like a yes to me.
I sit next to her and look at the sky. It's surprisingly starry tonight, considering we're in a city and all, but we are right next to the sea so . . . I guess it kinda makes sense that we'd see the stars.
"I have been thinking about the battle today." Ziba suddenly says.
"You have?" I blink, glancing up at her.
"Yes. My evolved form is of the Steel and Bug typing, so I had decided to pay extra attention to the battle. The first two creatures did not meet my expectations, but that Aggron was powerful and was able to take hits." Ziba goes on.
"He was a tank." I agree, settling down. I think we might be here a while, but I can make it warmer if I want to, so we'll be fine.
"I don't know the name of my evolved form, but . . . I was impressed by the Aggron. I have made my decision, and I was just thinking about what it would mean giving up if I evolved." Ziba says.
"You were, huh?" I murmur. "I kinda just went right into it."
"Yes, I know. You were an Eevee when we met, and minutes later you became a Flareon, correct?"
"That's right. My sisters are both Jolteon and Vaporeon as well." I tell her.
"A trio of the original evolutions." Ziba mumbles. "Do you regret your decision, Eon?"
"Sometimes I wonder what everything would have been like if I'd chosen to wait, if I hadn't become a Flareon right away." I say.
"I would imagine you would be a different pokemon." Ziba tells me.
"Likely, but then I think about the stuff I can do as a Flareon." I tell her. I look at Ziba, and smile. "I'm more powerful for one thing, so I can take down opponents quicker. Fire types are always powerful, so I guess I fit the bill. I don't regret evolving though, I never have. I just wonder sometimes."
" . . . I shall ask Green about my evolution in the morning then." Ziba nods to herself. "Do you know the name of my evolution?"
"I think it's something called a Scizor." I say.
"That sounds powerful."
"Yep. But if you evolve, you might lose your speed. Steel types are generally heavy-set pokemon, so . . ." I trail off. "I'm not trying to put you off your decision, but I'm just warning you."
" . . . It shall be worth it, if I can be useful." Ziba sighs. "Green has only used me in a few battles so far. I admit that I am more powerful than most Scyther, but I do wish for more chances at fighting for Green."
"Don't worry, he's a good person, he'll do whatever it takes to make you happy and then some." I grin.
"Thank you, Eon."
We sit in silence for a long time, until the sun finally comes up on the horizon. It's beautiful, the way the stars fade away softly and give way to a golden-orange sunrise.
" . . . We should get back." Ziba says, standing up. "The others would be worried if we are not inside by the time they wake up."
"Alright then." I smile. "Come on."
I'm glad she's decided to evolve. I know that Scythers are tough pokemon, and powerful too, but they have a lot of weaknesses. When Ziba evolves, she'll become a Steel/Bug type, which means she'll only have a single weakness.
She'll be stronger, and maybe she'll be a bit more confident to ask to battle.
I think that's her problem even if she doesn't show or admit it. She's shy, doesn't want to ask in case she gets denied or told off. I still don't know what happened to her before, or why she left Bugsy, but I know me and the others can help her.
OOOOOO
Renny: I found a Metal Coat after absolutely ages of trying, and Twin now knows Thief! Heh.
Green: I didn't see that one coming. Is she your Dark type now?
Renny: No, quite a lot of my team have moves that can kill Ghost or Psychic types . . . Heh, I have variety. And also, I know that in-game it's a Steelix, but like I've said a million times, I have to follow the manga storyline. Steelix isn't introduced in the manga until the tenth pokemon League, so I can't put it here. Besides, I didn't want to have three curb-stomp battles in one go.
Red: No one reads this, so why do you explain stuff here?
Renny: So I can direct the ones who don't bother to read it. Read and review!
