Chapter 44: Author's Note

What to Do Now...?

Hello all!

Alright, so this chapter will finally explain what I've permanently decided to do with this story.

I will split this story up into two parts. The first part- everything up to chapter 43- is pretty much complete.

The second half will be the discussion and discovery of the Millennium Staff/Rod, the kidnapping and torture of Iggy, and the discovery of Kenta's Mad House, where Iggy is being held captive. They koopalings will also locate eight Flame Gems (because every good Mario gamer knows most things comes in sevens and must be color coordinated- they also come in fives and eights, but you get the point) that will activate the Staff's Power. They will need it to destroy Kenta and allow him and Tobi to rest at last. There's also another little detail I'm going to leave out until we get there. I'm going to continue posting under Threshold (because it's still technically Threshold, right?)

Starting from Chapter 45 and onward, it would have been one year since Lemmy's attempted suicide. Time moves on, you know. (But there was no way I was writing a chapter for each of their birthdays). The ages are now going to be as follows (again, after Chapter 45):

Ludwig von Koopa: 19 years old

Lemmy Koopa: 18 years old

Roy Koopa: 17 years old

Ignatius 'Iggy' Koopa: 15 years old

Morton Koopa Jr.: 13 years old

Wendy O. Koopa: 11 years old

Lawrence 'Larry' Koopa: 9 years old

Bowser Koopa Jr. : 7 years old

I have thought long and hard about this half of the story for some time now because I didn't want to just leave it hanging as it was with so many unanswered questions and I wanted it to end on a good note. I also apologize for the LATE delay in answering about the Staff, what's it for, Kenta's diary, and everything else that has yet to be answered. I want to, believe me, but I just didn't like the timing and the placement of where those bits of information would go in conjunction with the rest of the story. I've been drafting and editing like a mad person for months now (you need to see how many notebooks I've gone through), and now I have the finished work.

This story will feature magic components (using magic attacks), physical battles, weapons suited for each individual koopaling, and of course, madness! Kenta has a madhouse (which they learn about a little later), and its there all bonds of family blood and ties will be tested there. I won't bring up too much detail, but there will be puzzles and battles for each koopaling to solve, and they must learn how to work together if they want to save Iggy before he perishes.

I have already assigned a gem and a weapon transformation (yes, their scepters will transform into their weapons because Nintendo could've given them more unique weapons, so I'm doing it my way), and attacks and defense for each of them. This is my first time doing this kind of story, so please bear with me!

If you have any ideas for what I should create for Kenta's Mad House, feel free to shoot me a PM! Its a blank slate and thankfully I haven't reached that chapter yet where I have to deal with setting up the place, but I'd like some ideas anyways. Kenta is a very dark, demonic character, and enjoys playing mind games, torturing, especially with Iggy. Most times he would do it himself (as he will in Iggy's case- spoiler), but I'm also creating other bosses for them to deal with (maybe like four or five- Kenta's the final boss, of course). The mind games is gonna be the fun part. I have most of their psychological/mental torment done (so sad that I said that), but please, if you have any other- and better ideas for this part, please let me know!

One last thing: I'm updating slower now because my computer (a PC) crashed yet AGAIN. So I'm just getting me a new one. It's gonna take me a while, and with my new job and going back to school soon, I'm not gonna have as much free time to come by my school's lab to finish the chapters, so I will update I can.
