Chapter: 56

"Okay you group of gloomy boys; we're going on a picnic." Rikki waltzed into the living room. It was a Saturday afternoon, Bruce just came back from a long day at the office, Jason had finished with his patrol from the previous night that ran much later than usual, and Tim had completed his newest experiment, so the three males didn't bother to look up from where their eyes were glued to the TV when their bro-sister walked in with her declaration.

Seeing that no one was paying attention to her, Rikki strode purposefully in front of the picture box and turned it off, ignoring the groans of protest. "I said picnic. Now." Her pale baby blue dress slightly fluttering behind her as her white lace up heels clacked softy against the floor as a white sun hat blocked her soft smile as she grabbed the small hand of Danielle. Dani was wearing a little sailor dress, with knee high matching navy socks, her pig tails were also pulled up with navy ribbons and her small hands gripped a classic picnic basket that had a red and white checkered blanket hanging slightly off the side.

"It's perfectly fine with me if we aren't accompanied by the two buffoons known as our brothers. Father is barely tolerably, but I'd much rather prefer it to be just the two of us Grayson." Dani said, adjusting her grip on the basket.

"Too late, we're coming. You don't get to hog Rikki all to yourself." Jason exclaimed, jumping up to his feet and pointing an accusing finger at the young girt.

"Looks like it a picnic day."

WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

The group made their way to an open field on Wayne property; it was at the only tree in the field that they stopped to set up. With a flourish of red and white the blanket was set and the family was at ease. The leaves were illuminated to a light green as the morning sun flowed through them casting soft pockets of shadows across the ground it sheltered.

"Mmm, what a nice day! This is great, just a nice friendly family outing with all of us here." Rikki leaned against the tree's trunk, using her sunhat to block the small amount of sun that tried to hit her eyes.

"Eh, it's nice of course, but I'm questioning how long this 'peace' will last." Bruce said. As soon as they arrived, Jason climbed into the tree proclaiming that he was going to sleep and to wake him up when the food was being served. Though, it didn't look like that was what Rikki wanted to hear. With pursed lips she stood up with a humph and walked away after a glare at Bruce.

The billionaire sat there flabbergasted and it took Tim to nudge him and say, "You better go after her." to get him to his feet.

"Di-Rikki wait! I didn't mean it like that! Please come back!" Bruce yelled, running after his son-turned-daughter with an outstretched arm.

"Tt, father will never learn. When you're around Grayson you can't be negative about anything, let alone family." Danielle started to ruffle through the picnic basket and smiled when she found Alfred's famed chocolate chip cookies.

"Well at least when she gets angry, she's easily calmed down." Tim nudged his head at the returning duo. Rikki had a wide grin on her face and Bruce was rubbing the back of his neck with his head hanging.

"Ok you two, you ready to eat?" and with that the Wayne family started their first full family picnic. It was only when the sun was already half way covered by the horizon and there was a golden glow across the field did they pack up and get ready to leave. During their whole outing Jason didn't once come down from the tree nor request for any food to be handed up.

"Jaz we're leaving!" Rikki called up and started walking away with one hand holding the empty picnic basket and one hand holding Danielle's.

"Jaz?" Bruce asked in a confused voice, looking up at the tree fearing the worst.

"It's Jasmine, Rikki, JASMINE!" A teenage girl jumped from the tree. She had short spiky black hair that was covered with a red beanie; she wore loose shorts with a few chains and a loose jacket over a red tank top.

"Not another one!" Bruce's head fell into his hands as his stomach dropped with despair. Now it was only Tim and him left, and the odds of them staying male was diminishing.

A/N: So I know I haven't updated forever, like usual. But since I'm up in the mountains with nothing better to do I decided to type up some. Since this chapter is the shortest I've had yet, there will be two. On another note, I got my permit! Yay, not. I know what you're thinking "What's a graduate doing just now getting a permit instead of already having a license?" well I don't see any use in having a license except to be a taxi for my little brother. So I pushed it off for as long as possible. But yea, I passed the test on my first try, and barely squeaked past the vision test, which in 95% sure was only because the lady was being nice since I didn't have my proper glasses with me (had to borrow my uncles since he had the closest prescription available). Okiedokie, onto the next chapter!
