Please wake up-Part 2
Marleyharper asked for a oneshot of a sequel to "please wake up" where when Emma wakes up she's lost her memory
A slight shifting made David look up. He gasped in surprise, it was really happening. Emma was waking up. He immediately hit the button for Whale to come through before grabbing his phone to call Snow. She'd left a couple of hours ago to spend some time with Neal. He expected she'd already be on her way back, but it wouldn't hurt to call her to let her know.
"Hello?" Snow answered. "David? Everything ok? I'm already halfway to the hospital…"
"She's waking up Snow." David butted in, unable to contain himself. Snow was silent for a few seconds. David was sure he heard her car suddenly speed up rapidly.
"I'll be there very soon." She told him before hanging up. Just as she did, Whale came rushing in.
"David, did she stop breathing?" He asked, breathless. David shook his head before pointing at Emma.
"No, look." He instructed. Whale did as David told him. Sure enough, very slowly, Emma was coming to. Whale went over to beside Emma on one side as David did the same on the other. David could have cried when he saw Emma's eyes very slowly blink open. She scrunched them up at the bright light.
"Dim the lights Nurse Edmunds." Whale instructed. The nurse nodded and quickly dimmed the lights until Emma was comfortable enough to open them, but still be able to see everyone.
"Hello Emma." Whale said quietly. "How are you feeling?" Emma looked at him, clearly confused.
"Where am I?" She asked. David looked to Whale and saw his face pale. His heart started beating rapidly in his chest. He put his hand over Emma's.
"Emma, honey. You were in a car crash. You're in hospital." Emma snatched her hand back and turned to look at David. She didn't need to speak. The look in her face said it all. She didn't have a clue who he was.
"Who are you?" She asked. "What's going on?" Emma was clearly becoming distressed.
"Emma, it's ok. Stay nice and calm for me. You're going to make your injuries worse. I'll explain everything to you once you're calm." Whale told her.
"Calm?" Emma asked. "I have no idea what's going on, who any of you are and my head stings like a bitch and you want me to be calm?" Whale sighed, pulling out a needle.
"Emma, please. If you do not calm down I'll have to sedate you." He told her. If David didn't know he really was trying to help Emma he would have knocked him out. Emma had only just woken up. He didn't want her to be comatose again. Emma took a few deep breaths.
"Ok, ok. I'm calm. Now what the Hell is going on?" Just as Whale was about to explain, Snow burst into the room.
"Emma!" She said, relieved, I'm so glad you were awake. I was so…" Before Snow could say anything else, David gently but firmly pulled her out of the room.
"Hey!" Snow protested. "David, what are you doing? Let me go and let me see my daughter!" Snow demanded.
"Snow," David said calmly, placing a hand on each of Snow's shoulders. "She doesn't remember us. All we know so far is she knows her name. That's it." Snow put a hand over her mouth in horror.
"No." She said. "No, not again." David pulled Snow over to him.
"She'll get through this, Snow." He said gently. "We'll be with her every step. Whether she remembers us or not." Snow just cried into his chest. Why must they always lose their daughter?
