Christian's POV:
Anastasia, Gail, Taylor and I are all in the car headed to Bellevue to have a big family dinner and to finalise some wedding plans. Little does everyone know we will be telling them that we are going to have twins. I run my hands nervously through my hair. Two babies that's insane before I met Anastasia the thought of having children never crossed my mind. I'm filling with excitement and fear I can't wait to have a family of my own and spend the rest of my life with Anastasia, but what if I can't do this? What if I'm not a good parent?
"Christian, you need to stop worrying you are going to be a great father." I look and Anastasia with my mouth hanging open. "I know you Christian."
"I'm just scared."
"Christian I am too, but all parents are."
"If they look like you Ana, I don't know what I'm going to do. I won't be able to say no." She looks at me and smiles.
"If they're boys with auburn hair and grey eyes I won't be able to say no either." I pull her close to me, and she rests her head on my shoulder.
"You'll be in charge of the girls, and I'll deal with the boys," I say, and we both laugh.
"Sounds like a plan. I'm actually so happy we're having twins. I never had a sibling, but I always wanted one. They're going to have someone to lean on."
"Yeah, siblings make life better. If it weren't for Mia, who knows if I would have come out of my shell." I smile thinking back to the day mom and dad brought her home. She was perfect in every way. I knew from that day on I was going to protect her from everything. I hope they're boys so when we have more kids in the future they can have big brothers to look out for them.
Anastasia's POV:
We pull into the gravel drive, and I start bouncing with excitement. We planned with Grace and Carrick how we're going to tell everyone. Christian kisses me and Taylor pulls the car to a stop. I know Kate is going to kill me for not telling her first, but this is just too big an opportunity to pass up. Christian slides out of the car first, and I follow close behind him. I look around at all the cars, and it seems like we are the last ones to arrive. You can't really tell I've gained any weight nothing fits me; it took me an hour to find something that wasn't too tight on me. We're getting married in seventeen days I just need a few weeks of not showing and I'm good. I've found a beautiful wedding dress that I let out a bit, so I have some room to grow, but still. Grace runs out to greet us with a big smile.
"Everything is set up for the announcement. We're going to play some games before dinner." She says with a wink and a smile.
"Thank you."
We walk inside together and say hello to everyone before going to sit with Kate, Elliott and Ray on the couch. There are some board games in the centre and a large pad of cartridge paper. As per Mia's insistence, we start with a new game she bought called cards against humanity. We divide up into couples Ray and Mia being the single ones pair up together and dub themselves the Single & Fabulous crew. I can tell Ray is having a hard time keeping a straight face as she chants it. Everyone laughs and drinks as we play. The game is so much fun and completely inappropriate. To everyone's surprise, but Elliot's Christian's grandparents win every round with funny and incredibly dirty answers.
"Let's play hangman now!" Christian says making sure they understand they don't have a choice. "Kate and Elliot you can start." They take a few seconds to decide and draw it out on the pad of paper. Elliot holds as we guess. The first word is three letters and the second is five. Grace guess A filling the second letter in the first word and fourth in the second. The Trevelyans guess E filling the second letter in the second word.
"I know what it is," I whisper in Christian's he nods slightly signalling that I can guess. "Las Vegas," I say matter of factly.
"This is why I don't like playing games like this with you," Kate says and we all laugh. "Your turn." She hands the sharpie and paper over to us. Christian and I make a show of pretending what we want them to guess before writing it down.
"Is there an A?" Mia asks, and I fill in the spot.
_ _ _ _ _ A _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
"E?" Elliot shouts.
_ E _ E _ A _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
"How about I?"
_ E _ E _ A _ I _ _ _ _ I _ _
"That's a lot of vowels" jokes Theodore. "I think the first word is we're so I'm going to say W."
"W?" His wife shouts at him. "Why the W it's more likely there is an R, not a W." He puts her in her place when I add two W's to the door, and we all laugh. My dad guesses N making Kate screech.
W E _ E _ A _ I N _ _ W I N _
Kate looks at the paper and then to me several times. "That last word its twins isn't it? You're having twins?" She says hopefully.
"We found out a few days ago." Everyone cheers and congratulates us.
"Wow, Christian even with getting your girl pregnant you go above and beyond." Elliot jokes as he pulls Christian in for a hug. I search through the crowd of people around us and find Ray. I push through Mia and Kate and give him a hug.
"Two grandbabies," He chokes up. "I couldn't be more excited Annie." Happy tears are streaming down his face which sets me off.
"I have a thousand different thoughts about the pregnancy going through my head every second, but I'm thrilled."
"Annie, I know you're young, but you're going to be an incredible mother. You have a kind and gentle soul, and I'm not just saying that because you are my daughter."
"I love you, daddy." He pulls me close to him, and all of my anxieties fade away for a moment.
