Chapter 53

"Mama!" Ariella ran towards me at full force with her little toddler legs, once I got inside the house. I had just gotten home from work and was in the midst of shrugging off the red blazer I was wearing and kicking off my heels. I dropped my briefcase to the floor and scooped my little toddler up.

"Hey, sweetspark!" I greeted my adorable child with kisses all over her face. She giggled before comfortably settling her small body into my own body. I carried her into the kitchen, where I snagged an apple and walked outside where I was sure that her father's would be situated.

If in doubt, look outside for the twins. They loved to be outside, and especially loved to stretch their legs in their robot form. So it was good that we decided on such a rural place to live. Otherwise the neighbors would have seen them by now.

"Gemma!" Sunny was the one who noticed me first from his position on a lawn chair. Sideswipe looked over at me with a wide grin, after hearing Sunny call my name. These two slackers were sitting on lawn chairs in the wide backyard, overlooking the pasture. Looking around, in a half-panic, I found Anna Rose in the hands of her 'uncle' Jazz, with Prowl hovering close by, to make sure nothing happened.

Prowl loved the girls as Jazz did, but he was deathly afraid that something would happen if he touched them. This always made me laugh as he was one of the mechs I would entrust my daughters lives to. If something would ever happen to Sunny, Sides, or I, I would want them to be with Prowl. He was able to keep a cool head during battle and would protect them with his own life. He had proven this with Bumblebee.

"Hey." Leaning down I gave both of my handsome husbands a quick kiss. Sunny groaned when I pulled away quickly, but Sides didn't mind. He took to tickling Ariella's toes.

"Yuck!" Ariella exclaimed after we had kissed. At this age she was increasingly finding most things yucky. Especially food, but if she could use her words, she would. I giggled, pulling away from Sideswipe to pay more attention to my demanding daughter.

"Mommy!" Anna Rose had caught sight of me and was squirming to get loose from Jazz.

"Anna!" I cooed and went over to her. I gave her a kiss on her head. She quieted down and was satisfied now in Jazz's arms, but she watched me intently from her perch there. "What's going on?"

"We just got a message from Prime." Jazz looked sheepish as Prowl explained the reason for their visit. I arched an eyebrow at my 'brother' for all intents and purposes. "He wants us all to meet him at a rendezvous spot about 200 miles from here."

"So you've come to collect Sunny and Sides." I stated, feeling uneasy at this summons. Something to me just didn't feel right, and I was going to tell them that I didn't like it. The five of us hadn't been disturbed by the fight for over two and a half years, and the Autobots knew not to disturb us unless it was a matter of life and death. They honored our wishes, well the wishes were more mine than the twins' but that doesn't matter right now.\

"As well as ya." Jazz said, shuffling Anna in his arms so that she would rest a little easier. "We jus' couldn' leave ya and da sparklin's behind."

The echoes that he didn't say was that they couldn't leave me and the sparklings unprotected. I knew that even though I was part Cybertronian, it would never matter, due to the fact that I was more organic than not. I wouldn't be able to protect the twins if something would happen and they all knew it. That's the other reason why the Autobots left the five of us in peace over the past few years.

I nodded. Ariella began to cry a little, so I hummed a tune and bounced her up and down in my arms. She quieted down a little, but only after she grabbed my free hand. Which she proceeded to shove into her mouth as the twins were still teething. This helped to ease the pain of their new teeth cutting through their gums.

"Alright." My answer was shocking to Jazz and Prowl. But not to my husbands; they knew why I would chose to accept this proposal. "When are we going to leave?"

"Uh, prob'ly not until Toosday" Jazzed seemed a little shocked by my easygoingness about leaving with them. I nodded my head. This would at least give me some time to call my work and request time off.

"Well in that case I better alert my boss that I'm going to be using up some of my vacation time." I declared. Then I turned towards the assembled mechs in my backyard. "Any idea of how long we will be gone?"

"No. We have no idea why Prime wanted us all to meet in the first place." Prowl stated, looking as ever as stately as ever. I nodded my head and headed into the house.

Out of sight of any of the windows, I just leant against the wall, feeling a little overwhelmed. I just basically volunteered to take place in an alien war. That wasn't the part that freaked me out. I had done that before. But now I had two small children I had to watch and protect. What was I going to do now?

But I was also being a little selfish when I quickly agreed to help them with this. I wanted to see my father again. I wanted to see all of my friends again. I hadn't seen my father in over three years, since he decided it wouldn't be too much of a risk to come and see me. I had seen him on several video channels that Sunny and Sides would play for me, but I felt lonely.

I missed having a paternal figure watch over me. I craved that. Now that I had experienced having an actual father figure in my life, I needed it. I was being selfish that way, but I was glad that I would be able to see him.

"Mama? Al-ight?" My daughter asked me, my finger still held in her hand. I jumped as I handed realized that I had her still in my grasp, but I just gave her a soft smile. I stood straight upright and grabbed the phone. My boss wasn't happy but understood about familial problems and gave me half of my saved vacation – one whole month.

Once I was done calling my boss, I went into the kitchen as it was nearing six o'clock. I had to make dinner. Only the girls and I ate on a regular basis – we actually needed the food, but Sunny and Sides only ate once or twice a week. Ratchet had made an Energon convertor, and it would let Autobots get Energon from converted human food. So they only needed to eat to refuel their Energon levels.

"Help?" She asked me. I smiled at Ari and set her in her highchair. I pushed my long brown hair into a bun and set about figuring out our menu for the night.
