We all have a fear don't we. Something an of that makes us cringe, or afraid. In the end we are all human; bionic or not.

-x-

The three young bionics were sitting on the cyber desk. The silence they shared was suddenly interrupted by an out of place question. "So what are you afraid of?" asked the eldest bionic. The two younger looked towards their brother. "Afraid of?" Bree repeated. "Yeah" her brother replied. Chase looked away, choosing not to say anything. After a moment of pondering, "I'm not really afraid of anything" says Bree. "But everyone has a fear" stated Adam. "I guess not everyone then" Bree tells her brother.

-Preset Day-

"Oh no..." She had fears, everyday. Small fears they were. The fear of not bringing in the assignment due, the fear of not doing her hair right in the morning, the fear of her brothers acting like complete idiots in public. Do they count as fears? Or are they more of worries?

-x-

Training passes by fast like it usually does. And Mr. Davenport had left the three in the lab alone. Bree smiled at the sight of her brothers acting goofy. She then ran after Adam as he stole her water bottle from her.

-x-

"We do you two keep on acting like such idiots!" She stormed into the house as her brothers slowly creep in behind her. "But Bree..." Chase began, "We were just having fun" Adam finished. She whipped her head around, "Fun? Seriously? If you were going to spit ball in class at least aim!" A breeze passed by and she was gone.

Bree squealed when Adam picked her up and spun her around. She loved the feeling of being able to fly. It made her feel invincible. When he let her down again, they played a few games with each other. She couldn't have asked for anything more.

-x-

Bree sat quietly in the lab. She wasn't going to say sorry. It was all their fault. Just when he was going to finally ask her on a date, a spit ball just had to fly by, hitting him right on the cheek. He was mad and when she asked what he was going to say, he ignored her. Talk about terrible timing. She turned away at the sound of the elevator doors opening.

Mr. Davenport stepped in, ruining the fun by informing them of another training session that must be done. They didn't like it, and showed it by complaining. But in the end they did it anyway. It wasn't so bad. She had her brothers by her side.

-x-

Days pass by. The conversations that they shared were more strained and seemed to lessen. She didn't talk to her brothers much anymore. When she was in the lab, they knew to stay away. When they were there, she did the same. Somehow, their sibling bond had begun to fade away. Faster then she could have ever run, no matter the enhanced speed she had.

-x-

"Phew... That was a lot of work" Adam said. Bree and Chase nodded in agreement. "You tired yet?" he added. "No" Bree replied, "Why?" questioned the younger bionic. "Up for a game of freeze tag?"

Bree opened her eyes. She stood still in her capsule, just listening the sound of machines surrounding her. She awoke out of a confusing dream, that she couldn't quite recall either. But the image of her brothers getting screamed at, by her stayed in her mind. Like an actual memory. Bree took in a deep breath, glad that she had never done that. She pushed the capsule door open and stepped out quietly. As the door closed behind her, she made her way to the cyber desk. She stood there, just looking at her brothers sleep. Adam was drooling as usual, and Chase wore that weird sleeping mask over his eyes. Bree smiled. After another minute of just feeling the silence in the lab, she began to walk back to her capsule. The door of the next capsule, opened.

-x-

"Time to go to bed" Mr. Davenport said an hour after the bionic trio had their dinner. "But it's still early!" Bree whined. "Yeah" her brothers agreed. "Just go to sleep" Mr. Davenport said. Obediently they stepped into their capsules. Mr. Davenport presses a button on the control table, and waits a little for the lights in the lab to dim. He then left, while the kids slowly drifted off into sleep.

-x-

Bree stopped in her tracks, moving back slightly as the capsule door opened wider. A yawn was heard in the silent lab. "Sorry Chase... Did I wake you?" Bree apologizes quietly. "No... It's okay, what are you doing up so late" Chase asks. She shrugs, "Well I'm going back to sleep" Bree says. The two turn their heads to see Adam stirring in the other capsule. "Yeah.. We should go back to sleep" "We really should"

Just as Bree was about to sleep, she hears a knock on her capsule. Bree slowly rubs her sleepy eyes, and see her little brother, holding a blanket in front of her capsule. Opening the door, she steps out. "Hey what's wrong" she asks her little brother. "It's too loud" he tells her. Bree stares at her brother oddly. She doesn't hear anything. "I don't hear anything" she tells him. "Yeah neither did Adam. He didn't even move when I knocked on his capsule..." Chase told his sister. "I heard you" Adam said stepping out of his capsule. "I just didn't want to get up" Adam said. "He says he can't sleep because it's too loud" Bree tells her older brother. Adam's confused look was replaced by a idea. "Here..." Adam says.

He then goes and takes the blanket that Chase was holding and wraps it around the little boy's head. "Can you hear anything now?" asks Adam. There was a muffled reply. "What?" asks Bree. Chase tugs and pulls at the blanket until it's finally off him. "I can still here it" Bree and Adam sigh.

It was a long night, the three trying to find a way to block out this 'loud' noise. It was near twelve, when the three finally gave up, sitting in the middle of the lab.

"Sorry, we couldn't find a way to stop the noise" Bree told Chase. The little boy yawned in reply. Chase leaned on Adam, his brother holding the blanket. "Don't worry Chase, we'll find a way to stop the noise" Bree reassures sleepily. "Tomorrow" Adam adds. The two older siblings turn to see Chase, sound asleep. Bree turns to look at Adam, who's sitting up against a chair, his eyes closed. Bree crawled over to her brother, and took the blanket, spreading it out. Then she leaned on the other side of Adam and the three slept...

Isn't funny, to have a fear, and not know it?
