Ultrabross's Vision

CHP52: Moving Along

Ultrabross stood in front of the massive beast looking each other in the eyes. It was a standoff; everyone else within the room stayed still while waiting to see what would happen next. Kurumu thought about calling out to Ichigo but was obvious whatever that thing was just couldn't be him. It was upsetting to see things result in the way that they had and to feel so powerless to do anything about it only made things worse. The newly transformed Ichigo looked to the ceiling letting out yet another roar equally as loud to the previous.

Most covered their ears as they had done the first time. What happened next most didn't see coming as it happened so fast. The hollow beast blitzed past Ultrabross grabbing at the throat of one of his pupils and with its opposite hand punched right through him. Blood splattered all over followed by shouting and screaming with some taking off to the nearest exits. Some even ran for the exits during which the beast separated the guards head from his body, tossing the divided parts to the ground. It set its eyes on another victim which happened to be Kurumu but Ultrabross jumped in its path before a move could be made.

"Impressive...to think such a subordinate is now within my clutches. However I can't have you unable to distinguish enemy from ally, so the final stage of the transformation must be fulfilled."

Ultrabross's eyes glow a bright purple and looked into the eyes of the hollow beast and immediately took on an identical glow. The beast's shoulders quickly dropped down to its sides with minimal movement. It no longer had interest in Kurumu. With a slight grin Ultrabross reached out patting the specimen over its shoulder. The process was now complete and there was nothing that could be done to reverse it.

"Alrighty, now that we've dealt with that small wrinkle it is time to get into the fun stuff. But before any of that I want that body disposed of and this place cleaned, am I understood?" Ultrabross looked to some of his guards that still remained in the room.

Each of them went to work without hesitation. Moka was still shocked by the whole situation and how things unfolded. It was only at that point did she wipe away some of the blood splatter off her cheek. Was what she seeing before her eyes Ichigo's true form, or was it something else entirely? At that point she had no idea what to think.

"What shall we do with her?" Feyaglia asked, pointing to Kurumu.

"Now that she witnessed the demise of her friend, take her to one of the holding cells. She is to be kept alive and not harmed...for now." Ultrabross replied.

"For now?!" Moka questioned with terror in her tone.

"Well it all really depends on your cooperation Akashiya. Do as I ask and follow my instructions exact and your friends will be kept alive, but try and turn against me and you won't like the result. But that's another conversation we shall soon have."

Feyaglia forced Kurumu to her feet and with the assistance of three others escorted her to the nearest exit. She and Moka gazed upon one another for a single moment before the door closed shut. There wasn't much either of them could think to do, so decided to go along with everything for the time being. At some point an opportunity to escape would present itself, but until then had to stay patient. Just as ordered Kurumu was locked into a holding cell and didn't fight back. Moka was also led out of the space as the king's men cleaned up.

Lots of guards acquainted both she and Ultrabross including the hollow beast Ichigo had become. No matter how much she tried the vampire was unable to take her eyes off Ichigo...or more so the creature that he transformed into. There was so much questions surrounding his entire being and if there was someone that could give her a better understanding it was him. Moka took a deep breath before speaking.

"Ultrabross, sir...do you mind me asking a question?"

"Sure, go right ahead my dear." The king replied.

Moments of silence followed as she thought about how she wanted to go about asking the question.

"At some point I demand an explanation to all of this. The whole thing...about hollows, why you sent them and Morrigan to the Yokai realm. I think I understand a bit why Ichigo was there, but only to a certain extent. But that's not what I want to know as of this moment. Is what we see now," Moka paused for an instant, "Ichigo's true being?"

"Whether or not it is matters no more. He will never return to the way he was. You're in no position to be asking questions, but I'm in relatively a good mood so I'll yield. Kurosaki is what you would call a special case. Think of it as a triangle if you will. Quincies and Shinigami do not see eye to eye, and are considered the greatest of enemies. In an essence they're after the same thing, and their goal of doing this separates them."

"What does any of this have to do with Ichigo?" Moka inquired.

"Patience we will get to that. Quinces seek to destroy hollows while death gods on the other hand objective is to purify them so that they may venture to soul society; all in the idea of maintaining the balance in the world of the living. That is where the trouble lurks between the two sides. Hollows are basically lost souls that never fully crossed over and are consumed by darkness. Ichigo is special in the sense contains the nature of them all to a degree."

Moka was more lost than before and was evident by the expression on her face. What in the world was a Quincy, and how could Ichigo contain the abilities of them all. She almost regretted asking; more confused than before.

"But to answer your question Ichigo's true form was what you grew accustomed to. I merely morphed and brought to the forefront the hollow within him, taking it under my full control. With a weapon such as this my enemies will have no chance. Kurosaki was the son of both a shinigami and quincy and gained the hollow nature due to an occurrence involving his mother. I will however disregard myself from explaining further, it is not something I expect you to understand and is not of importance."

The vampire had nothing else to say so remained silent for the remainder of the walk. She was again locked into a room but was more comforting and welcoming than the last. Much more space, with windows, red carpeting, and a larger bed with bathroom. It was like checking into a five star hotel, a huge upgrade over what she'd been held in previously. There wasn't much she could do so just made herself feel at home.

Haiji and Akua had their hands full with two of the king's top generals. They had already wasted too much time as it was and no telling what might have transpired up top. Haiji especially hoped everyone was making it ok and was able to find Moka. There was only one way he and Akua would advance and that was to defeat the two standing in their path. The two had proven formidable to that point but felt he and the vampire would be victorious. Not long into the fight he noticed something was missing and that something was team chemistry.

Even without it the karate club member didn't worry much. His exceptional skills in material arts coupled with Akua's experience was more than enough for them to win. All those thoughts played through his mind while busy dodging the strikes of Brother Night. His jaw was sore from the last blow that connected and his left side was aching somewhat. He powered through ignoring the pain smashing his knee into Brother Night's stomach and knocking him down with an elbow to the face.

Opposite of them Akua and the other high ranked general went back and forth. Sister Day became aware of Akua's ability to go intangible early in the fight so took a zoning approach. By way of her hands was able to produce light ball energy, firing it in the vampire's direction. Akua eluded the blast running at Sister Light from the left. Right before she came within a foot of the enemy, Sister Light took to the air dispersing a light wave from her mouth which Akua made certain to get out of the way of it.

"As if I'd let you get in close! I've studied your movements closely and am aware of your specialty, so long as I keep my distance this fight is in my favor. You lack range attacks, far as what I've deduced...which so happens to be one of my greatest strengths. You and your Karate friend have no chance of escaping."

Akua gave no reply, instead keeping her focus. What the enemy spoke was the truth and if she wanted to end it needed to close the gap of distance between them. She was brought out of her thoughts as a gold energy shot straight at her in the form of a dragon and looked to be at least eight feet long. She dodged it the first time around but noticed Sister Day controlled it manually. Things quickly shifted to a game of cat and mouse as Akua ran all around trying to avoid being tagged by the attack.

Haiji and Brother Night on the other hand was an entirely different battle. The fight between them was grounded and up close exchanging blow after blow with their own counterattacks. Brother Night was on the defense falling back and was clear Haiji had the advantage. A knee to the gut completely knocked the breath out of him, followed by a roundhouse kick dropping him to the ground. At that point saw stars and if he didn't come up with something soon would lose the fight. Not only was he lacking in the strength department but seemed as though Haiji had him beat in technique as well.

Alert to the situation rolled over just as Haiji's foot stomped into the ground barely missing his head by a couple inches. He popped up getting back into a stance but a right hook to the left side of his head knocked the general out cold. Haiji ran a hand over the side of his face wiping away sweat.

Not far from where he stood the battle between Akua and Sister Day continued. As it had been for most the time Akua had trouble closing the gap between them. Sister Day's speed was formidable and not only that but had the ability to hover and dozens of range attacks. All that combined presented quite the task and even if she was able to gain a favorable position the general was a formidable fighter.

"What's wrong vampire, have you ran out of ideas? It really doesn't matter what you try and come up with. You and your k..."

Taking full advantage of the general's back to him, Haiji KO'd her with a single strike to the back of the head. She fell forward, face first atop the carpet. Akua wasn't pleased by the Yokai student's interruption but easily overlooked his actions. The bigger picture was they could move on and go after Moka. Still one thing did bother her, and that something was what Sister Day said just before being taken out. Not once did she mention being a vampire, yet somehow the enemy knew.

"Sorry for jumping in like that, but I'm sure it goes without saying we need to get a move on. Already we've spent too much time in, wherever we are. The only priority is regrouping with our group; finding Moka-chan and getting the hell outta here."

Akua nodded before taking the lead.

"I think if we continue down that way might get us back to the main floor. Let's hurry before Mister and Misses darkness and light decide to wake." Akua said.

Haiji followed by her side as they journeyed down the hall.
