It is moments like when I read the reviews for this story that I wish I could implement the use of gifs like on Tumblr. Then this AN would be full of gifs of people chasing someone with the caption "LET ME LOVE YOU!" or those moments when Chopper is flattered. Why? Because YOU GUYS ROCK SO MUCH!

Nearly a year and a half later and 50 chapters in and I'm glad by how Terra has grown and how she seems to have grown on you guys. It makes me want to scream and jump for joy (which is probably a good thing that I haven't been assigned a new roommate yet in my dorm).

Girl-luvs-manga: Yay! I'm so glad that you love Terra so much!

Alpenwolf: Yep, and the more exposure she gets, the more people are going to remember and recognize her. She better be more careful . . .

Noitalapsi: Yeah, I don't like Bellamy. And my favorite part has got to be the bar scene after everyone's seen the new wanted posters and then Luffy calls Bellamy out. Their faces crack me up! I'm having the same sleeping problem myself. My body can't seem to recognize that I need to fall asleep before 2 am because I have class at 8. -_- Good luck with your classes.

guisniperman: Thank you! That is actually going to be explained in this chapter. Terra does recognize the emblem, and has a few memories associated with it. As for when she will remember everything, that is going to be a slow process for she is remembering everything bit by bit. It's going to be a long while yet.

IceSharkDemon: Thank you! I'm glad you're enjoying the story!

Eviline: *Rereads last review* Oh! *Smacks forehead* My bad. Yes, Terra managed to stay somewhat passive for once. She almost blew at the end but she did it. With how often Luffy is actually serious about something, ignoring an order he gives when he is being serious is not an option his crew considers. Now, to get one step closer to that ass-kicking Bellamy is asking for!

Christmasloot: D: NO! Don't cry! The chapter is there, I swear! Fanfiction was probably being stupid for a moment. I hope you can get to the last chapter along with this one now.

YuyaKnightwriter97: Thank you! I hope it continues to get better!

CrazyWriter4U: Thank you! Don't worry. The time when Bellamy and his crew will be brought down will be upon us soon. Terra has a lot of respect for Luffy, even though she doesn't act like she respects anybody. Her self-control still needs work because she almost disobeyed that order towards the end.

Akanokumo: Thank you! Hmm . . . that is a good question. Right now, I would say Zoro, should they ever get into a serious fight. But, as Terra's strength and combat abilities return to their former glory and even improve, this question may be revisited at a later time.

Disclaimer: I do not own One Piece. Terra/Myka, Connor, and Katie are my OCs.

Chapter 50

"SANJI! For the last time, I'm fine. I would barely call these injuries. So chill. The fuck. Out," demanded Terra slowly. Honestly, you'd think he thought that the pirates had broken every bone in her body before decapitating her and showing her head to her crewmates with the way he was unnecessarily overreacting.

"This is unacceptable!" continued Sanji, "No scum should be allowed to harm a woman!" Terra gave an exasperated sigh. He had been like this since they had gotten back to the ship. The only time when he had let this argument drop was when Robin returned with information about some weirdo who lived on the opposite side of the island. It was possible that he had information they needed, so they had set off for his location. The only obstacle they had faced was yet another monkey. Apparently, he was Masira's brother and he did not take kindly to the fact that they had kicked Masira's ass. They had to run away when the ape started to use some kind of sound attack to tear their ship apart.

Now, they were far enough away from any crazy apes, and still in route to Mont Blanc Cricket's.

"What I find surprising is that you actually restrained yourself from fighting back," commented Usopp. Terra gave him a slight glare.

"Are you saying I'm not capable of following a simple order?" she asked. Usopp flinched from the stare and turned back to continue working on the quick repairs he was doing for the ship.

"W-Well, you haven't given off the impression that you respect anyone enough to do so," he defended. Terra shrugged her shoulders and looked away.

"Hey! That is no way to . . ." Sanji began, but Terra had promptly cut him off (with a punch to the head).

"Leave it. My attitude does leave much to be desired," she admitted, though she didn't sound ashamed. More like she was just stating a fact. She walked away as she rolled her shoulders. The most damage that had been done to the three of them had been a bunch of cuts and bruises, which was a relief. Her hand was finally completely healed and she didn't want to have to start another recovery process so soon.

"Of course it does! You've done nothing but taunt Bellamy and his crew, even though you didn't fight back!" yelled Nami, remembering her frustration towards the woman earlier. Terra rolled her eyes. This served to piss off Nami even further.

"Why didn't you fight back there? Whatever happened to that stuff about you hating it when others belittle you?" Nami continued to vent. Terra glared back at her.

"Do you really want to test me? Because I wouldn't mind it if you want to start a fight with me," said Terra darkly. Usopp, wanting to stay out of the crossfire, returned to his work nervously.

"Hey, what did you mean by that last insult, anyway? You made it sound like they were working for someone," said Zoro. He mainly brought this up to break up the fight (Nami wouldn't stand a chance against Terra, anyway). However, he was also curious because she had directed the insult at the crew's captain.

"That's because he is. Or, at least I'm sure he is," said Terra as she frowned. She looked down as she thought back to what she saw.

"You know that Jolly Roger they had? The one with the smiley face with a line going across it?" she asked. Nami nodded.

"Yeah, what about it? It's just their Jolly Roger," said Zoro. Terra shook her head.

"No, it's not. I recognize it," she stated confidently.

"You do?" asked Nami, now interested in this new piece of information. Terra nodded.

"Yeah. It belongs to someone a lot more powerful than Bellamy will ever be. He's a pretty big deal in the world. He's a very dangerous person to mess with, and dealing with him should be treated with caution," she continued.

"Really? Who is it?" asked Luffy. Terra closed her eyes and pinched the bridge of her nose. She concentrated on the emblem, trying to will the memory to the surface, but . . .

"I . . . don't remember the name," she said, admitting defeat against her sucky memory.

"Well, that's not useful!" shouted Nami, frustrated with the woman again. Honestly, how were they supposed to know who to avoid if she couldn't come up with the name? Terra glared back at her.

"Well, excuse me for not having the best memory! I thought this wouldn't have been too surprising considering everything that's happened so far! All I can come up with is the color pink for some damn reason! And that whenever I saw certain people wearing this emblem, it was in my best interest to stay the hell away."

"Then why did you not hesitate to want to attack them?" asked Nami. For Terra to admit that she was no match against someone was enough of a warning to the rest of them that they shouldn't challenge this person. So for what reason would Terra not follow her own advice?

"That policy does not apply to people who are obviously weaker than me," she stated bluntly.

"How would you know that? You don't have the best judge of character, considering you tried to fight Crocodile just to lose!" claimed Nami, still angry with her. Terra's expression darkened at the mention of her failed rescue attempt.

"Hey, I was trying to help you guys back there. And after seeing Bellamy's crew, I know that I wouldn't lose to them," said Terra stubbornly. Seeing that the fight was going to escalate, Usopp butted in to prevent any more damage to the ship (especially with how violent Terra had been getting lately).

"H-H-Hey, you never did explain where you got the sword," he said, changing the subject. Terra flicked her gaze over to him. Usopp flinched back, since Terra was still annoyed beyond belief at Nami and it showed in her expression.

Nami, on the other hand, stormed off. She was stomping up the stairs when Terra reached back to feel the hilt of the sword. Oh yeah. She had almost forgotten about that.

Terra took the sword off from her back, keeping it in the sheath. She hadn't had a chance to examine it since kicking that guy's ass for it.

"This is supposed to be the weapon I had over a year ago. Someone had stolen it from the pirates who said that they killed me, so I decided to retrieve it," she explained, after taking a moment to calm down.

"Really? That's the same weapon?" asked Usopp, curious. He had stopped working on his repairs to give the weapon another look. She shrugged.

"I don't really remember it too much, but I did have some kind of sword before. This could be it . . ." she trailed off as she unsheathed the blade.

Everything that happened afterwards followed in quick succession of each other.

Almost as soon as she began to draw the blade out, Terra had dropped the sword and backed away.

"Hey! Are you okay?" asked Usopp. Everyone else turned towards the scene unfolding on the deck. Terra had backed up into the wall with her right hand covering her mouth and nose. Her left hand reached back to touch the wall as she slumped down to the ground.

"Hey, Terra! What's wrong?" asked Nami as she ran down the stairs from the upper deck. All of the Straw Hats were watching her from a few feet away now, apprehensive as to what she might do or even what was going on with her now.

Terra didn't respond to any of their exclamations. She was staring at the sword halfway out of its sheath with narrow eyes. Its blade was tinted red and gave off a familiar stench. One that brought unpleasant images to the front of her mind.

Robin stared at the woman. She then flicked her gaze to the sword Terra was staring at. Acting on a hunch, Robin walked around until the sword was at her feet. Kneeling down, she slid the blade back into the sheath. Once the silver blade was out of sight, Terra seemed to have snapped out of whatever trance she had been under.

"Is something the matter, Myka?" asked Robin, studying her carefully. Terra glared at her for the mention of her old name before slowly getting back up.

"No. The scent just caught me off guard," she said as she brushed dirt off of her pants.

"What scent? I didn't smell anything," said Chopper, confused. Terra frowned at him before shaking her head.

"It's nothing," she said dismissively before snatching the weapon back from Robin.

"There was no way that was nothing. What just happened?" demanded Nami. Terra waved off her concern.

"Nothing is nothing. Don't try to make something out of it," she dismissed once more, disappearing in the direction of the women's quarters.

"But Terra . . ." began Chopper. He was cut off by the door slamming shut.

"What's her problem now?" asked Zoro.

"I don't know," said Nami, frowning at the door Terra left through.

"I have a theory," stated Robin as she straightened herself out.

"Really? What is it?" asked Chopper.

"If I had to guess, that is definitely her sword," she stated.

"How would you know that for sure?" asked Nami.

"The way she reacted . . . as soon as the blade was uncovered, she thought she smelled a scent."

"But the blade wasn't scented," claimed Chopper.

"That's why I'm sure her reaction is more psychological. According to some rumors, when Myka last traveled the Grand Line, the moment the sword left the sheath, death followed almost immediately afterwards for her opponents. Even if her memories aren't intact, she probably still remembers the smell of death and blood she left behind. Seems like killing was such a habit of hers, she has possibly associated the smell of blood to the naked blade. So she now thinks that the blade is scented," explained Robin. Everyone was silent as Robin's words sunk in.

"Was Terra . . . really that bad?" asked Chopper, scared. He was trembling where he stood.

"Does this mean that we can't keep claiming that Terra and Myka aren't the same person anymore?" asked Usopp. Ever since they entered the Grand Line, evidence against Terra had been piling up. She was even getting more violent and angry. It also didn't seem like Terra was even denying her former life anymore, since she had accepted that the sword was hers without much fuss.

"Who cares!" And then there was Luffy, bluntly proclaiming his lack of interest in the subject.

"How can you not care? We're talking about Terra being a potential traitor!" cried Usopp. Luffy punched him upside the head in retaliation. Although, he didn't look angry and he didn't hit that hard. More like he was reprimanding Usopp.

"How can you think that now?" asked Luffy, "We've been with Terra since she joined us back in the East Blue. We already know how she really is. Her past isn't going to change that, so why care about what she did before." His resolve was contagious, as the rest of the Straw Hats, except for Robin, slowly gained a renewed sense of faith in their crewmate.

"So, she's a nice person after all?" asked Chopper, visibly relieved.

"Well, she's a difficult person to get along with, but she's not bad," assured Nami.

"If you don't care, then why have you been trying to help her remember it? Isn't that a bit contradictory?" asked Robin. Luffy wasn't fazed by the question.

"When we met her, she was alone and had been waiting for there to be some clue that there was someone who noticed her gone and wanted her back. When a year went by and nothing happened, she gave up hope and thought that she didn't have anyone. I wanted her to come along, not only because she was strong, but because she wouldn't have ever known the real answers by staying on that island, waiting for who-knew-how much longer. I don't care who anyone says she is, but no one should have to go through life alone like that." It was silent for a few beats after that.

"However, we already know the fate of her brother. After that, the Freelancer traveled alone when she wasn't with a crew. She may not have anyone, anyway," reminded Robin. The atmosphere was tense and heavy as the crew remembered the secret they were keeping. Luffy was about to speak up again when the door opened once more.

"Just how long does it take to get to the opposite side of the island?" asked Terra impatiently. She was oblivious to the conversation that had been going on just seconds ago and she was still donning the cloak she wore on the island, albeit the hood was down. Her sword and dagger were also missing on her person, and that didn't go unnoticed.

She frowned when she noticed something was off with everyone.

"What? Did the guy turn up dead?" she asked with an insensitive tone.

"Actually, we're here already," answered Robin, pointing out a structure that stood on the edge of the island. Everyone turned to see . . .

"WOW! That's his house? He must be loaded!" exclaimed Luffy excitedly. Just like that, everything went from being tense to light-hearted as everyone checked out the shore. Terra watched them, slightly suspicious, but shrugged it off to see the house Luffy and Usopp were ogling.

. . . That had to be the most ridiculous-looking house Terra had ever seen. Luffy, getting an idea, ran off inside for something. Just as Terra noticed something strange about the house, a flash of light caught her attention from the corner of her eye. She looked over to see that Luffy was taking pictures with a camera. Her camera.

She blinked. Where did he find that? It was missing from its place on the kitchen table after they returned to the ship in Alabasta.

"Where'd you find that?" she asked.

"It was in the kitchen after we got back her in Alabasta. I decided to borrow it," he said.

". . . And you didn't bother to inform me of this, because . . .?" He flinched when he noticed a certain look being directed at him from Terra. One that reminded him that the last time he tried to take her camera during their voyage, she had kicked his ass.

"What? You weren't using it, and it's a cool camera!" Terra sighed as she grabbed one of his cheeks and pulled. When she'd let go, the skin snapped back in place with enough forced to knock him back a step.

"Ow!" He dropped the camera in favor of rubbing his cheek. Terra managed to catch the camera by its strap before it hit the ground.

"Hey! What was that for?"

"For stealing from me. And besides, you'd eventually break it, so I'm taking it back," she stated. Mentally, she was thanking Luffy for bringing the camera out. This just might be what she needed to distract herself from certain thoughts.

Once they sailed to the cliff to get off and look for Mont Blanc Cricket, the weirdo, they saw that the front of the "house" turned out to just be a plywood illusion. Reality: there was only half a house behind the plywood cutout.

"Already, I'm questioning the credibility of any information this guy could give us," stated Terra as she stepped onto the island with Luffy.

"What kind of dreams was he talking about that they kicked him out of town for?" Nami asked Robin.

"I don't know all the details, but apparently he claims there's a huge hoard of gold somewhere on Jaya," said Robin.

"GOLD?" exclaimed Usopp.

"Is it a lost pirate treasure?" asked Nami, excited.

"I'm not sure," said Robin. Nami stepped onto the island with Chopper and order him to dig for the gold. Chopper, getting caught up in all of this, started to dig at the ground with his horns in his Walking Point.

"I highly doubt this treasure, if there is any, would be directly under our feet," said Terra as her sweat dropped.

"Hello! Anyone home?" Meanwhile, Luffy was opening the door to the half-house and walking in like he owned the place.

"Huh? There's nobody here," stated Luffy as he explored the house. Terra sighed. Why did she get the feeling she was going to be in for something tiresome?

Then, she noticed something out of the corner of her eye. She turned her head to see a book lying on a tree stump in front of the house. She walked over to pick it up, curious. It looked like an old storybook. She peeked at the title.

"Noland the Liar?" she read aloud. It wasn't a story she was familiar with.

"That's a catchy title. I like the theme," said Usopp, who wandered over when he saw Terra pick up the book. Terra looked over at him with an eyebrow raised.

"I imagined that you would," she said. Usopp frowned.

"Hey, why are you giving me that look?" She smirked.

"No reason." She returned her attention to the book.

"Noland the Liar. That brings back memories. I read it as a kid," said Sanji, now joining in on the conversation. Nami had also come closer out of curiosity. Terra frowned.

"You've read a book that was supposed to be published in the North Blue?" she asked as she started to flip through the pages.

"Yeah, I was born in the North Blue. Didn't I ever mention that?" asked Sanji.

"No," said Terra bluntly.

"This is the first I've heard of it," said Usopp, "I thought you were from the East, too."

"Yeah, I was raised in the East . . . well, never mind that. This story's pretty famous in the North. It's a children's tale, but I've heard that this Noland really did exist a long time ago," said Sanji.

"Really?" asked Terra.

"Why don't you read that story for the rest of us to hear, Terra?" asked Nami after she scolded Chopper for digging (even though it had been by her request).

"Huh?" Terra looked up from the book to see them looking at her expectantly. Her sweat dropped. Since when did this turn into story time? She already felt like she was looking after children, but this seemed a bit ridiculous.

". . . Fine," she caved. She was kind of curious about this tale anyway. She opened to the first page.

And this is where I'll leave this chapter off. So no horrific cliffhanger this time.

So Terra seems to be under the threat of becoming . . . unhinged, although that information isn't entirely new.

Next update might be a while still, but fear not! This story shall continue!

In the meantime, please leave a review, telling me your thoughts about the chapter and/story in general, and I'll be back. Later!
