Chapter 56: Blast From the Past

It had been a crazy few weeks, but it seemed to go by so fast. The Equestria Games had come and gone, and Vegito had to admit it was pretty entertaining. Spike had a bit of a fumble when it came to lighting the torch, but he made up for it by beautifully singing the Ponyville national anthem. Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, and Bulk Biceps had taken home the gold, all thanks to their intense training. Overall it was a fun event, and Vegito wondered if they'd ever let him compete.

His student had also taken a very important test to see if she would make it onto the Wonderbolts' reserve. Naturally it was a little tough for her to sit down and study, but luckily she had been working on her patience... kind of. It took some doing, as well as some encouraging words, but she eventually passed the test with flying colors. And now she was one step closer to achieving her life-long dream.

Things had calmed down a bit since the Wonderbolt Test and the Equestria Games, and Vegito was back to what he was normally doing. Having so much gravity to work with made his training all the better, and he could tell it was doing wonders. He was already so strong, but he could feel his power increasing slowly but surely. It was helpful having the mind of two Saiyan warriors, as he knew exactly how he wanted to train as to get the best results.

As he was in the middle of his four hundreth verticle push-up he paused, as something very important popped into his mind. There was a very important event happening at the Crystal Empire, involving the Duke and Duchess of Maretonia. He wasn't specifically told to be there, although Twilight strongly suggested he make an appearance, but he felt he should show up anyway. He was Equestria's champion, and everypony needed to know... unless they already did, but still.

Instantly he sprung to his feet, and then made his way over to the controls. With the push of a button he deactivated the gravity, and once that was done he quickly placed two fingers to his forehead. A second later he vanished, and then appeared in the Crystal Empire. The Saiyan saw Twilight pacing around, and sensed his friends nearby. As he was about to greet her he glanced down and noticed his clothes were torn up.

'Uh oh Twilight's gonna kill me... and then Rarity will kill me.'

Twilight stopped her pacing when she noticed her friend had suddenly shown up. "Vegito you made it!"

Suddenly the doors opened, and the Duke and Duchess came walking in. They saw the Princess of Friendship, as well as supposedly the famous Vegito they heard about. They stopped in front of the Princess and bowed, and she returned it.

"Your highness. Thank you for understanding our desire to keep the number of those privy to these confidential discussions to a minimum."

The Saiyan then saw them approaching him, and he figured it was only right to bow.

They stopped in front of him. "You must be Vegito. While I hear you are rather violent... and apparently sweaty, I also hear you are a righteous hero keeping our lands safe. So for that we thank you." They both bowed.

"Um, thank you." He replied as they walked past him toward the exit.

While watching them leave he couldn't help but wonder how good of an impression that was. They did call him a righteous hero, but after saying he was violent and sweaty. Honestly it didn't matter what he thought, it was the Princess' opinions that mattered. His greeting had gone fine though, and neither of them seemed annoyed or angry. So all in all it was a success.

He then turned around and saw the four Princesses talking to one another, and he had only caught bits and pieces due to being lost in thought. It would seem Twilight felt down for not playing a bigger role, which he could sympathize with. It was hard to be so important, yet not really at all at the same time. He could tell this had been stirring around in her for a little while, and the event must have been the final straw.

"But I... well, it's just that Princess Luna raises the moon, Princess Celestia raises the sun, you protect the Crystal Empire, and all I seem to do is... smile and wave."

"You need to be more patient."

The Princesses turned to face the Saiyan.

Vegito took a few more steps forward before stopping. "I get that you want to play a bigger role, but it can take time for that to happen. You've done some amazing things, and accomplished so much, you should feel proud of that."

"I do, but... I'm a Princess now, and I haven't done anything worthy of being a Princess. I know these things take time, but it just feels like I've been doing nothing ever since I became an Alicorn." Twilight said.

"I know it seems like you've been doing nothing, but that's not true. You've been growing, and learning more about yourself and the world. Being a Princess is a full time duty, and has many responsibilities. Nopony expected you to be thrust into that role so soon." Princess Celestia told her former student.

Luna nodded. "Take it from me, being a Princess isn't always easy. You shouldn't feel bad for not playing a bigger part. I felt jealous of my sister because everypony enjoyed her day more than my night, and that jealousy caused me to turn on my sister and everypony else. If I had just been more patient, more understanding, I might not have become evil and lashed out on others."

"For a while I wasn't sure what I was meant to do either. Sure I went around and helped Ponies with their love and relationship problems, but I never felt like I had done anything of real importance. Aunt Celestia told me that my time would come and that I shouldn't rush myself, and now I'm helping keep love and hope alive in the Crystal Empire. It took some time, but I finally knew what I was meant to do."

"Exactly. Besides, you've done plenty since your transformation. Remind me again who saved the Tree of Harmony, as well as the rest of Equestria?"

"What you're all saying is true. I have done some pretty incredible things, before and after I became a Princess. While I've certainly learned a great deal about friendship and magic, there's still a lot still unknown to me. I'll be honest the thought of being a Princess was a little scary at first, seeing as how I'd have a lot more responsibilities. After a while I got used to it, but I'm starting to think it's because there hasn't been anything for me to do."

Princess Celestia sighed. "In my efforts to ease you into truly being a Princess I made you feel unimportant, and for that I'm sorry."

"Well, maybe it was better that I wasn't given so much work and royal duties right away. I'll admit I can stress a little bit." She smiled meekly, all the while noticing everypony giving her 'that' look. "Okay quite a bit... so I guess it was better to take it slow. Plus I would hate to be so busy that I wouldn't be able to spend time with my friends."

"Sometimes our royal duties demand sacrifice, and surely your friends would understand that your new responsibilities come first." Luna noted.

"But I wouldn't have even become a Princess if it weren't for them." Twilight reminded. "At the same time you're right, I'm sure they would understand. And you know, I think I'm feeling better about this situation."

They all smiled in response.

"I still want to figure out my true purpose as a Princess, but I won't really know until the time is right. So until then I'm going to be patient and continue my current duties."

"And maybe finally figuring out what's in that chest in the Everfree Forest?" Vegito joked.

Princess Luna quirked a brow. "You still haven't opened it?"

Cadance had been filled in about what happened during that time, as all of that was very important. "Come on Luna, give her a break. It's not like we know more about it than she does."

Twilight sighed. "I've done countless hours of research, but I haven't figured out anything! Those keys could be anywhere, and I'm pretty sure there are more than six keys in the world! You'd think it would be mentioned in the Elements of Harmony Reference Guide, but there was no mention of a magic chest."

"It would seem we need to look a little deeper, do some more extensive research. Perhaps there are some books in the Canterlot library that might be of use." The Princess of the Sun mused.

"That's a great idea, and I know of another library that might be worth checking also." Twilight hadn't gone there too often, but that just meant there were lots of books still unread. Who knows what secrets that library held? She was getting excited just thinking about it, and that wasn't even mentioning finding possible clues to the chest.

Vegito chuckled. "Yeah, sounds like fun. I still say you let me just bash that thing open."

"You know, I'm actually starting to agree with him." The Princess of the Night stated.

"Come on, there has to be some way to open that chest without resorting to violence. However, if we are unable to find any keys or answers then I suppose we would have no choice. In which case I'd be more than happy to let you open it yourself, while not destroying anything inside... if there even is anything."

"Let's just hope we don't have to resort to Plan B... no offence." Cadance told him.

The Saiyan shrugged. "No taken, besides I'm just as curious to see if Twilight can solve this mystery. Besides, it's not like we're in a rush or anything. No threats are on the horizon as far as we know, and even if something does happen I'll be around to stop it."

As much as the lavender mare wanted to open the chest, she was also wondering if she should just let Vegito do it his way. That's not to say she was giving up hope, but did she really have time to search for these answers. There could be something really important in that chest, and there she was taking her sweet time looking for answers when her friend could open it himself.

At the very least she wanted to give it another go, one last good search. A trip to the Castle of the Two Sisters would do nicely, with the main attraction being the library. The answers to her questions had to be there, they just had to! Perhaps she would invite her friends along, as although it was easier to read in silence it was better with friends around. Besides, her friends could help her search for answers faster, and then maybe they'd finally be able to get these keys.

Vegito then let out a yawn. "Ugh, well if anybody needs me I'll be training."

"Didn't you just come from a training session?" Princess Cadance questioned.

"Yeah, and now I'm doing another one. I can't slack off, not even for a day. I need to be in top shape no matter what. I'll probably push myself even harder this time." With that mini rant over he quickly teleported back to his spaceship.

The three Princesses looked over at Twilight.

"Yeah, that's pretty much a daily routine."

A Unicorn carrying a basket of oranges was walking through an alley way late at night. He didn't like being out so late, but he didn't have much of a choice. The fog wasn't helping anything either, making it seem all the creepier. Eventually he heard a noise, making him pause. The Unicorn turned back and saw it was only an empty can.

He breathed a sigh of relief before resuming his pace, only to come face to face with a cloaked creature. "Very sorry. You came out of nowhere."

"'Is he friend or is he foe?', the Pony wonders." The creature spoke, unnerving the Pony. "I can assure you... I am no friend. I am Lord Tirek, and I will take what should have been mine long ago." Tirek's mouth opened wide and he quickly began draining the Unicorn's magic.

When all was said and done the Pony collapsed onto the ground, with his eyes gray and his Cutie Mark gone.

Lord Tirek then grew slightly bigger, all the while laughing menacingly.

Princess Celestia suddenly awoke in a panic, her breathing very heavy.

Not a moment later Princess Luna entered the room. "Sister, are you alright?!"

"I've just had the most terrible dream."

"Why do you think I'm here? You know as well as I that this was not a dream, but a vision."

"Then we haven't much time. The stronger he becomes, the more we are all in danger."

Luna nodded. "We must inform Twilight and Cadance immediately."

"We should grab Vegito as well, he will surely want to know about this."

Vegito stood in the Crystal Castle, his arms folded across his chest. He hadn't expected Princess Celestia to just show up at his doorstep. Apparently she and Luna had something very important to tell him, Twilight, and Cadance. The Saiyan agreed to return to the Crystal Empire to hear what they had to say.

"Tirek and his brother Scorpan came here from a distant land, intent on stealing Equestrian magic. But Scorpan soon came to appreciate the ways of Equestria, even befriending a young unicorn wizard."

"Scorpan urged his brother to abandon their plans. When Tirek refused, Scorpan alerted us to Tirek's intentions." Luna added.

"Scorpan returned to his own land, and Tirek was sent to Tartarus for his crimes. But it appears he has found a way to escape." The Princess of the Sun finished.

"We believe it happened when Cerberus left his post at the gates." Luna noted.

"But that was a long time ago. Why is he just now starting to steal magic?" Twilight questioned.

"His time in Tartarus left him very weak. He has just now gained enough strength to use his dark powers." Celestia explained.

The Princess of the Night furrowed her brow. "But with each passing moment, he grows stronger still."

A smirk then came to the Saiyan's face. "Let me guess, you want me to stop him?"

Princess Celestia frowned slightly. "Not exactly... well, Tirek must be stopped, but I had somepony else in mind."

Vegito quirked a brow. "Who?"

"...As in Discord Discord?"

Vegito hadn't believed it either, and he had heard it come straight from the Princess' mouth. He, as well as everypony else, had been shocked to hear that. After a while it made some sense, especially after Celestia explained herself. It was basically a test, to see if Discord truly was on the side for good. No doubt Tirek would try to weasel his way out of going back to Tartarus, but the real question was if Discord would go through with it or go back to his old ways. He only hoped he wasn't as big of a sucker as Goku, who easily believed Raditz' lies.

"Yes!"

"I don't think it's that big of a surprise. He can be very helpful." Fluttershy stated, only to receive blank stares in response.

"He can sense when there's a magical imbalance. The next time Tirek steals magic, Discord will be able to track him down!" Twilight added.

"Also think of it as a test, to see if he's really on our side."

Fluttershy raised a brow. "Why would he need a test, he's already proven himself to be a loyal friend. Especially after... well... um... you know."

"He's also unstable, and could crack under pressure. I'm not saying he won't make the right decision, nor am I rooting against him, I'm just being realistic."

Rainbow shrugged. "I guess we'll just have to wait and see. So what are we supposed to do in the meantime?"

Twilight put a hoof to her chin. "Well I was planning on going to the Castle of the Two Sisters to do some research on the chest. Would you all like to come, I could really use the company?"

"Sure, it's been a while since we've been there." Applejack noted.

"I love doing research on chests!" Pinkie exclaimed, only to receive blank stares.

After a few seconds Vegito spoke up. "Count me out, sorry. I have some training to do, and I also need to have a little chat with someone."

The Princess had a good idea as to who he needed to speak with, and as such voiced no complaints. "Well feel free to visit."

The Saiyan nodded and waved goodbye to them, all the while watching them leave. He wasn't really worried about them going into the Everfree Forest. They could handle themselves, and with Rainbow around they would be fine if danger showed up. Besides, if he really needed to he could reach them in no time at all.

"Well isn't this a surprise, your friends leaving without you."

Vegito turned around and saw Discord standing there. "Well you saved me the trouble of tracking you down."

A smirk came to the Draconequus' face. "Let me guess, you want to talk to me about this Tirek thing. You're going to make sure I make the right decision and send Tirek back where he belongs. You'll probably lecture me about moral codes and friendship, or maybe just straight up threaten me again. I can see why you're worried but you have no real reason to fear, I'm reformed remember?"

"Yeah, I'm just worried you're going to do something stupid. How much would it take to convince you to join Tirek, how much would he have to give?"

"I already have the greatest thing in the world, friendship! Nothing Tirek says or does is going to change that, now good day!" Just like that Discord vanished.

Vegito stood there for a moment, stunned. He did just hear from Discord that he has something Tirek can never give, and surprisingly he believed the Draconequus. Discord had been fully prepared to die, just to save Fluttershy. In that moment he had changed, and the Saiyan was still coming to terms with it.

Perhaps he was being too doubtful, too untrustworthy. Sure Discord had done awful things, but he was slowly making up for them. In all honesty Vegito was no saint himself, as one of the people that formed him had been a mass murderer at one point. The point was people could change. And so Vegito would simply need to trust that Discord would do the right thing.

Twilight and her friends, minus Vegito, were all at the Castle of the Two Sisters. There just had to be some information on that chest, and the Castle Library was a good place to go next. Surely more than one strange magical chest has popped up in Equestria over the past thousand years... well, maybe. The Princesses didn't mention one earlier, nor did they mention having to track down keys. That meant she was on her own... if not for the fact that her friends were with her. It helped having them around, and perhaps one of them could find a clue to the key mystery.

Along their way to the castle they ran into Discord, who was basically telling them what they already knew. He seemed to be taking his mission semi-seriously, or at the very least he didn't seemed worried. Before leaving though he mentioned he had been reading their Friendship Journal, or at least he was implying that he read it. Either way he had bookmarked a few pages, and at first Twilight didn't notice. He had left not long after that, off to prove his loyalty.

Once she finally was able to sit down and read she got cracking, and her first choice was the journal. Discord wouldn't have brought it for no reason. There was obviously something she was supposed to get, and so that made a great place to start. As she was reading she began noticing a pattern, which led her to making a very important discovery! And if she were correct, then that would be a miracle breakthrough!

"I think I found something! I've been reading our journal, and there's something interesting about the sections that Discord bookmarked. Applejack, do you remember when you had to tell everypony that the tonic Granny bought from the Flim Flam brothers didn't really work?"

As Applejack and the rest of their friends gathered around Twilight, she thought back to that day. "How could I forget? It was one of the hardest things I ever had to do."

'I hate to disappoint everypony, but there's no way Granny could have made that dive, because this tonic is a fake!'

"And in that moment, I knew I had to be honest. I just knew it. But what's that got to do with openin' the chest?"

"I've found that each of you has had to face a situation where living up to the Element of Harmony you represent wasn't easy." Twilight then flipped the page to another bookmarked one. "Fluttershy, it was when you realized that the way to show kindness to the Breezies was by forcing them to leave your home."

Just thinking about it made the shy Pony worry. "Oh, the looks on their poor little faces! But I knew that, as difficult as it was, pushing them away was the kindest thing I could do."

The Alicorn flipped the page again."Rarity, even after Suri took advantage of your generosity at Fashion Week in Manehattan, you didn't let it cause you to abandon your generous spirit."

"I simply couldn't have lived with myself if I didn't do something special for the friends who have always been so generous to me!" Rarity said.

Twilight turned the page. "Rainbow Dash, you had the chance to fly with the Wonderbolts at the Equestria Games, but instead you chose to compete with your friends."

"Sure! But being loyal to my friends was way–"

Pinkie Pie decided to interrupt her friend. "Ooh, my turn, my turn!"

In spite of seeing her friend interrupt one of her other friends she continued. "Pinkie Pie, you realized that seeing your friend laugh was more important than proving you were a better party planner than Cheese Sandwich."

"Best party I've ever had." Rainbow noted, even though she had been kind of rudely interrupted.

"It's clear we've all had our moments to shine, Twilight, but I'm with Applejack. What does any of this have to do with the opening of the chest?" The Generous Unicorn asked.

"All of you had tough choices to make. But when you made the right one and embraced your element, it helped somepony else make the right choice too. Each of you received something from the pony whose life you helped change. I know it sounds crazy, but maybe there's something special about those objects that could lead us to the location of the keys. The chest is connected to the Tree of Harmony, the Tree is connected to the Elements, and the Elements are connected to all of us. There must be a connection! I hate to admit it, but maybe Discord was trying to be a good friend after all."

Later that night, another Unicorn was falling victim to Tirek. They were simply minding their own business when they bumped into somepony. Turns out it wasn't a Pony at all, but instead some strange looking creature. Said creature then stole his magic, leaving him lying helpless on the ground.

The newfound magic surged through Tirek, causing him to grow a little more. It was a great start, but he would need more if he was ever going to destroy Equestria. He then spotted another nearby Unicorn, and their magic was ripe for the picking. With a sinister grin he approached his victim, who was completely unaware of what was coming.

Suddenly the Pony turned their head back, and it turned out it wasn't a Pony... "Tirek, I presume?"

Tirek jumped back a bit in surprise, but after taking a closer look he recognized that creature. "Discord. You're free?" He questioned, with even more surprise.

"As a bird." Discord said, all the while transforming into one to accentuate his point.

"I commend you on your escape." Lord Tirek bowed.

After another brief moment as a bird the Draconequus returned to normal. "I'm afraid the feeling isn't mutual." With a snap of his fingers he made chains appear that bound his enemy's hands together.

Growling, he tried to break free of the chains, but he just couldn't. The Centaur then fired a magical blast, but unfortunately his attack was evaded. "Oh, I should have known you would want to have Equestria all to yourself."

"Oh, I'm not doing this for me. I'm doing it for my friends." Discord then got in close. "Just between the two of us, it's mostly for Fluttershy."

"Fluttershy? You're not saying you're friends with ponies?" Tirek questioned in disgust.

Suddenly a cake appeared, and after a few seconds the Draconequus burst out of it. "Surprise!"

"I am surprised that someone with your intellect does not see this 'friendship' is but a new form of imprisonment. Clearly you've had to abandon your true nature to stay in their good graces."

"Oh no, you're not getting out of this." Discord stated firmly.

Lord Tirek quirked a brow. "What do you mean?"

The Draconequus sighed. "Don't play dumb with me. You're trying to get inside my head, to sway me to your side. You think that by insulting me you'll get me to join you. Well guess what, it's not happening."

"Grrr! Why?! Why be friends with those worthless Ponies?! You're the Master of Chaos for Tartarus' sake! This world should be flipped upside down, with chaos raining down from the heavens. Instead you're restricting yourself, holding yourself back, denying your true nature!"

"I've discovered that friendship is way better than chaos. Sure the thought of chocolate milk constantly falling from the sky once made me happy, and it still does... anyway, I no longer have such thoughts. Besides, I can cause as much chaos as I want in my own dimension thank you very much."

'I thought tricking him would be easy!' The Centaur furrowed his brow. "So that's it, you're just going to take orders from Ponies the rest of your life. You're going to let them tell you what to do, how to live? You're no more free than you were in stone, it's just a shame you can't see it."

Discord shrugged. "I'll take being able to move any day."

"Come on! Deep down you know you want to rebel, to finally rule this land like you always wanted. You say you don't want to, but you can't deny how tempting it is. Think of it, there will be no one to tell you what to do. You'll have total freedom to do whatever your heart whims. Together, we can take what should have been ours."

"Well... I'll admit it isn't as much fun not being able to cause chaos whenever I want... but that's beside the point!"

"And do these friends of yours really care about you?"

At that question Discord had to pause. The only one who even remotely liked him was Fluttershy. Everyone else ranged from annoyed by him from downright hating him, except for Pinkie Pie who was a mystery even to him. Their other Pony friends weren't to fond of him though, and didn't seem to trust him either. His earlier visit with them was proof enough of that.

And then there was Vegito, who was an extreme case. The Saiyan downright hated him, right from the start. Over time that hatred became a little less extreme, but none the less it was still present. The man had even threatened his life twice! Discord did kind of deserve it... but still, that was too far. What kind of a friend was that? And after doing something nice for the Saiyan he still didn't trust him, and didn't have faith that he could do his job. That really showed how much Vegito trusted and cared about him, which apparently was not much at all.

Could he really turn his back on everypony, on Equestria? Upon rethinking, Tirek did make some good points. He was Discord, Lord of Chaos! Why shouldn't he be able to make it rain soda, or turn boulders into giant caramel apples? He really was letting Ponies tell him what to do, and that just wasn't right! The Draconequus should be the one calling the shots, not the other way around! Those Ponies were trying to control him, to change him.

"You know what I say is true. This is your chance to be rid of those worthless Ponies, and to finally be free!"

By joining Tirek Discord woud be throwing everything away, and there would be no turning back. "...Very well, I'll join you. However, you have to promise to spare Fluttershy! The rest of her friends I could care less about, but I want no harm to come to Fluttershy. Do we have a deal?" He asked while extending his paw.

Lord Tirek rolled his eyes. "Fine, I won't harm your precious Pony friend. Now get rid of these shackles!"

Discord snapped his fingers and his partner in crime was free.

A smirk then came to the Centaur's face. "Well I think we should celebrate our new alliance, don't you? But where to start draining magic?"

"Oh anywhere is good to start... although there is a little problem, well it's actually a big problem."

"Which is?"

"There's this man named Vegito living on this planet, and believe me when I say he's one of the strongest warriors in the universe. Seriously, he could wipe out this planet with not much effort on his part."

Hearing this intrigued Tirek. "Hm, a creature with that much power could be worth paying a visit."

"Oh hears the kicker he doesn't use magic, he uses his inner energy or ki as he sometimes calls it. I don't think you can steal it, and if you try to fight him he would easily defeat you."

"So what, there's nothing we can do?"

Discord put a paw to his chin, trying to think of a solution. If he and Tirek were to succeed they would need to be rid of the noble Saiyan. That wouldn't be easy though, even for someone like him. He could send the Saiyan to another planet or dimension, but the warrior could most likely return. Curse Instantaneous Movement! Since that was out of the question he would have to find some other way to distract the Vegito.

A thought then came to the Draconequus. A while back, when he was still in stone, he remembered hearing about Vegito's enemies coming back to fight him. It was because of Janemba that it all happened, and Vegito had to go take care of it. If he could get another fallen foe to fight the Saiyan, then he and Tirek would be in the clear. And obviously Vegito would fight off world, as to not risk harming the planet. Thus leaving him and his new partner to do whatever they wanted!

He would have to get someone strong, really strong. The problem was he didn't know how the Saiyan's fallen foes stacked up to him. Clearly there was a reason they lost, and it was only a matter of how much stronger they were now. Assuming they could even get stronger in Hell. It was their best shot, and worst case he could always snag a few villains to fight if one fell short.

"Judging by that smirk I'd say you found a solution."

"Possibly, but our chances are looking good. I'll explain more when we get there."

Before Tirek could ask any questions he and his new partner were gone, with just the snap of a finger.

'So, it looks like he fell to temptation...'

Crouched above on a roof, Vegito had been watching the two of them. He too tracked down Tirek, and when he saw Discord also he knew to stick around. It was time for Discord to make the ultimate choice, and at first he was doing the right thing. The Draconequus had been resisting... but that only lasted so long, and eventually Tirek wore him down. Now the two were teaming up, and had just left to do who know's what.

The Saiyan stood up and sighed deeply. He really wanted Discord to prove him wrong, to not turn his back on his friends. As much as the fused warrior detested Discord he still didn't want him being evil again. Unfortunately the Draconequus gave up everything for a promise of power, which might end up being false.

"Well, better let the Princesses know that Discord turned traitor."

"And that's what happened."

Princess Celestia, Luna, Cadance, and Twilight were in the throne room of Canterlot Castle, listening intently to what the Saiyan had told them. Apparently their faith in Discord had been misplaced, and now he and Tirek were joining forces. That would spell doom for Equestria, and if they didn't act soon the whole world would be in danger!

"I guess we know where Discord's loyalty stands." Luna noted, with a small hint of hurt in her voice.

Just as Twilight was getting closer and closer to opening the chest she got pulled away. She discovered that each of their friends received some kind of gift after their personal struggle. Said gifts turned out to be the keys needed to open the chest, which meant that five of the six had been found! Unfortunately there was still one left, and it was hers. That said she hadn't really had many difficult decisions to make regarding her Element, nor has she gotten any gifts lately. Not a few moments later Vegito showed up, and said he had something important to talk to her about. She agreed and told her friends she'd be right back, and shortly after the two of them were gone.

Now she was in Canterlot with the other Princesses, and that's when the truth was revealed. "Why would he do it? Did our friendship mean nothing to him?"

"Clearly not." Cadance answered.

Celestia seemed the most upset, and there was a tear streaking down her face. "It is unfortunate that this happened, but we mustn't dwell on the past. The two of them together may be the biggest threat Equestria's ever faced."

"With Discord aiding him it will be easy for Tirek to steal magic, and after he steals enough he'll be able to steal from Pegasi and Earth Ponies too. Ponies will no longer be in control of their world. That power will belong solely to Tirek." The Princess of the Night stated.

Hearing that reminded the Saiyan of Cell, and how in his first form he went around stealing people's energy. It was more gruesome what Cell did, but it was essentially the same. And naturally after absorbing a lot Tirek would be very powerful, and it would probably take all of the Princesses to take him down. Perhaps he could convince Tirek to hold a Martial Arts Tournament, or Tirek Games.

He then returned his focus to the present conversation. "I'll bet he'll be coming after your Alicorn magic as well."

Princess Cadance frowned. "We wouldn't stand much of a chance against Tirek and Discord, not when they're working together."

"And we don't have the Elements of Harmony either." Twilight added.

After a few moments of thinking the Princess of the Sun spoke up. "There is one solution. It is only by making this sacrifice that Equestria and the lands beyond it might be saved. We must rid ourselves of our magic before Tirek has the chance to steal it from us."

The lavender Alicorn gasped. "What do you mean rid ourselves of our magic?"

Vegito had instantly caught on to what they were doing, and he thought that was a great plan. Of course one Pony would be left with all of that magic, and the Saiyan had a feeling he knew who the catalyst would be. Of course she might need help controlling all of that magic, as no doubt it'll probably be overwhelming having that much power at once. Luckily he was just the person to help, and he knew the perfect location... assuming he had permission of course.

Princess Celestia glanced over at the Saiyan, and noticed he was deep in thought. She then saw him close his eyes, as to why she had no idea. She then returned her focus to her former student. "Tirek won't be able to take our magic if we don't have it. Of course we can't simply just make it vanish into nothing, we would need somepony to hold on to it for us."

"And that somepony is you, Twilight Sparkle." Luna said.

Once again the lavender mare gasped. "B-but... why me?"

"We do not believe that Tirek is aware that a fourth Alicorn princess exists in Equestria. If we transfer our magic to you, Tirek will not know where it has gone." Celestia stated.

"I know it's a lot to ask, but if anypony can do it you can!" Cadance encouraged.

Twilight took a moment to think, as that was a lot to think about. Of course she would gladly do anything to ensure Equestria's safety... but to take in all of that magic. She was still learning how to control her own Alicorn magic, and to add more on top of that seemed like a dangerous idea. Could her body even handle having all of that magic?

At the same time her former teacher made some great points. She was unknown to Tirek, assuming Discord wouldn't tell him at some point... if he hadn't already. Still, they at least had some element of surprise. Plus they'd still have to track her down, and having somepony around who could literally teleport anywhere in the universe made it harder. Besides, if Vegito can handle his power then so could she... right?

"All right, I'll do it!"

Princess Celestia smiled for a brief moment before becoming serious. "Then we must begin at once."

All three Princesses got into place, forming a triangle around Twilight. Once in place they began channeling their magic, making their horns glow brightly. Moments later their eyes shot open, having turned completely white. Beams of magic then shot from their horns combining into one large sphere, which grew larger and larger as time went on.

On his part Vegito was impressed, his eyes wide as he gazed upon the gigantic orb of pure magic. He then watched as it slowly descended down toward his friend, who seemed to still be a little nervous. It then fully consumed her, but after only a few moments it started being absorbed into her horn. It was reminded him of when Goku absorbed the Spirit Bomb in his fight with Android 13.

When all was said and done the three Princesses were on the ground, feeling completely drained. They were weak, and had no power left, but that was the plan. It was worth it to ensure Tirek wouldn't become even more powerful than he probably already is.

As for Twilight, she was feeling the exact opposite. Her eyes, Cutie Mark, and the tip of her horn were glowing white. She was floating in the air surrounded by a white glow, and sparks of electricity traveled all along her body. The sheer amount of power flowing through her was making her body twitch. After a while she calmed down a bit, and returned to normal... although there was still a little twitching.

She then ran over and hugged her former mentor, all the while noticing the Cutie Marks of the other Princesses were gone.

Vegito could certainly feel the affects, as his friend was way more powerful than before. Again she would need help controlling it, but he already had a plan for that. And now that Twilight had all the magic it was time to go.

"So what now?" The Princess of Friendship questioned.

"Now we-"

Suddenly something burst through the double doors, sending them flying into the back wall. It stopped right in front of the the Saiyan, unleashing a massive gale of wind in the throne room.

Standing there was what appeared to be a tall alien, with a rather massive head. Its skin was light-purple, except for red parts around the legs, forearms, upper body, and parts of the head. Big green gems were embedded into its head, chest, forearms, and shins. Its piercing yellow eyes glared daggers into the Saiyan. On top of everything else was the stylized M on its forehead, as well as the black around the eyes and protruding veins.

After getting back up Twilight stared at the creature in confusion, having no idea who or what that was. Or where they came from for that matter. Luckily Vegito was around, but she still felt a little afraid.

"It's been a long time... Saiyan."

"Hatchiyak... you're alive?"

"A miracle isn't it? The greatest machine the Tuffles ever created, back from the dead!"

It didn't take long for the fused warrior to notice the M, and he merely shook his head. "Babidi up to his old tricks? He should've known better than to send you, after all your last battle didn't end well for you... and in case you didn't realize I'm a lot stronger."

"I know everything I need to about you, Vegito. Two Saiyan warriors joined into one, meaning I can kill two Saiyans for the price of one. Master Babidi has learned from his mistakes, and ensured I was one hundred percent ready to fight you. I have been reborn, and I will finally get revenge for every Tuffle your monkeys slaughtered!"

"Reborn huh? You look the same to me."

"My body is of similar design, but I am a lot more powerful. It was easy increasing my power, as all I had to do was feed off of the hatred everyone in Hell has for you. Their hate has made me strong, and I'll use to end your life once and for all."

The Saiyan could tell Hatchiyak had become stronger, but that wouldn't be enough to save him. He was superior in every way, and the Tuffle would soon find that out the hard way. "I'll enjoy making a complete fool out of you."

Vegito then remembered Twilight and her situation, making him pause. Hatchiyak showing up wasn't helping, but it wasn't that big of a road block. He would simply take Twilight to where she needed to be, and then go fight Hatchiyak real quick. Hopefully he'd be done before the training ended, but he'd just have to see how long the battle would take him.

Hatchiyak then grinned. "So, are we going to fight or what?"

"Yeah, but not here. I can take us to our fighting arena." The Saiyan then turned back to his friend. "I'll be right back."

Twilight was even more confused as she watched her friend dashed over and grabbed the alien, and before the alien could protest the two vanished. She stood there staring blankly, all the while her body twitched.

A few seconds later Vegito reappeared, and he then walked over to his friend. "Alright Twilight, it's time for your training. I'm taking you to a safe planet where you can learn to control your newfound power. Tirek won't be able to find you, and you'll be learning from great teachers."

All of that sounded exciting, and practical, but she had no idea what he was talking about. Before she could ask any questions she was taken a hold of and whisked away.

Hatchiyak once again found himself on different planet, except the current one wasn't populated by Ponies. It was a rather barren planet, with a surprising amount of oxygen. There was little to speak of, and seemed little more than a glorified asteroid. He figured it made for a good fighting arena, and with no life around the Saiyan wouldn't be holding back. His victory would be hollow if he didn't completely humiliate his opponent.

'I will finally be rid of that miserable Saiyan once and for all!'

A few moments later Vegito appeared across from his enemy. "Sorry, just had to take care of something. Now then, shall we get started... Baby?"

For a brief moment the Tuffle looked surprised, but then he smirked. "So you figured it out?"

"It wasn't hard. Hatchiyak never was much of a talker, and I can sense you in there as well. I'll bet you were eager for revenge as well, so you figured why not hijack an already powerful body. While I admire your determination this only proves what a weakling you truly are."

"You're one to talk. I've heard the story, about your fight with Majin Buu. Goku and Vegeta were too weak to beat him, so they had to fuse in order to win. If it weren't for that you both would have died. Face it, you're no different than I am."

Vegito scowled. "There is a difference between us. My power wasn't given to me, it was earned. Sure I had to fuse, but Goku and Vegeta merely combined their powers into one being. All of their years of hard work and dedication on getting stronger, all of that raw power, it's all a part of me. You on the other hand are a machine, whose power was just given to him."

"You're right, but the end result is still the same. And if you're power really is as great as you say then come and show me."

After delivering the challenge Hatchiyak simply stood there, not bothering to put up his guard. He watched as the monkey dashed toward him, and prepared to throw a punch. The attack landed but had no effect, and the Tuffle let out a chuckle in response. Faster than his foe could react, he delivered a punch of his own. His attack stunned the Saiyan, and left him prime for a kick to the face.

Vegito went flying back but managed to stop himself, now needing a moment to recover. Those attacks had really hurt, while his did nothing. It would seem his opponent hadn't been exaggerating, making the fight all the more interesting. A smirk then came to the fused warrior's face. With a yell he transformed into a Super Saiyan, making the ground quake beneath him.

"Power up all you like, it won't make a difference."

Super Vegito grinned before once again charging his opponent, and within milliseconds he closed the gap. Once in range he started his onslaught, hammering his foe with punches. Unfortunately his attacks were still ineffective, despite becoming a Super Saiyan. Realizing this he quickly leapt back, distancing himself from his opponent.

"Now do you realize the true might of the Tuffles?"

"Oh I'm not done yet, I haven't come close to using my full power."

"As I said, it won't make a difference."

A smirk came to the Super Saiyan's face, as he was just about to prove his opponent wrong. His fists clenched tight as a golden aura erupted from his body, that was soon followed by loud screaming. His aura flared as his power rose, all the while the ground beneath him shattered. Sparks shot out of his body as he continued to build up his power.

Hatchiyak smirked as well as he watched his opponent's light show.

After several more moments Vegito stopped, having transformed into a Super Saiyan Two. "This is a level beyond Super Saiyan, called Super Saiyan Two."

"How original." The Tuffle snarked.

"Enjoy that moment, because you'll soon be re-experiencing true fear."

One moment Twilight Sparkle was in Canterlot Castle, and the next moment she was somewhere else entirely. The mare wasn't in Equestria anymore, she knew that much. As to where she was now she had no idea. There was lush green grass, trees full of leaves, and many bodies of water. What was really cool though were the two huge moons, looming over the planet from a mighty distance.

"I'm sorry I can't stick around for your training, but I know you'll do fine. Just listen to your new teachers. Well, good luck." With his message delivered Vegito went back to begin his battle with Hatchiyak.

Now seemingly alone Twilight let out a sigh, before her body spasmed again. Her friend hadn't given many details, so there wasn't much for her to go on. Who were these teachers he was talking about.

"Ah, you must be Princess Twilight Sparkle."

The Alicorn jumped high in the air, only to fall back down shortly. She then turned around and saw two strange beings. One was old, with short white hair, a mustache, and weird blue clothes. The other was younger, taller, with long white hair, and similar but different red clothes.

The taller man smiled. "It's good to meet you."

"Um, I'm sorry but... who exactly are you?" It was then that she noticed they were both wearing earrings, identical to Vegito's. The pieces then started falling into places, and once the connection had been drawn her eyes went wide. "Wait... are you two the Supreme Kais? The Supreme Kais?"

Old Kai grinned. "Yes, we are. He's Kibito Kai, and you can call me Old Kai."

Twilight instantly panicked before bowing down. "Forgive me, Supreme Kais sirs. Vegito didn't really explain anything to me."

"No need to be so formal around us." Kibito Kai stated.

She breathed a sigh of relief before standing up.

"And don't worry, Vegito filled us in on everything." Old Kai said.

"He did?" She questioned, right before her body twitched.

The elder Kai nodded. "It would seem he wasn't exaggerating, I can sense a great power within you."

"Great power... what are you talking about?"

"Come now, by now you must known about it. I realize it might be hard to tell now considering you're bursting with magic, but even with that I can tell you much untapped potential. Surely there's been at least one time when you felt a huge surge of power?"

After a few brief moments Twilight let out a small sigh. "When I was just a Filly I saw Princess Celestia raise the sun for the first time. It was the most amazing thing I had ever seen, and it made me want to study magic. I read every book I could, and practiced pretty much everyday. When I was ready my parents enrolled me into Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns, a dream come true... except I had to pass an entrance exam."

She took a second to catch her breath. "Hatching an egg seemed simple, but for some reason I just couldn't do it... but then it happened. A Sonic Rainboom, and not long after it happened I felt a huge magical rush. I had never felt anything like it, and I ended up doing magical feats I never thought I was capable of. I ended up passing my exam, and that's also when I got my Cutie Mark. But that was just because of the Rainboom, that wasn't me... was it?"

"I'd like to think that Sonic Rainboom helped you tap into your latent abilities, giving you a short taste of that power."

The more she thought about the more she realized he was right. If the Sonic Rainboom had given her magic, then surely it would have done the same for her friends. It didn't though, aside from Rainbow getting a speed boost, but only because she was the one doing the Rainboom. Twilight had been the only one to receive a magic boost, and while it might have given her some help it was mostly her own magic that day. Looking back, she did take to learning magic pretty quickly. It took a long time, and lots of practice and study, but she had become quite the skilled Unicorn turned Alicorn... not that she was bragging. Having her Cutie Mark represent Magic and being the Element of Magic didn't hurt either.

"So what does this all mean?"

"It means I can help you grow stronger, by preforming a ritual. Your power will increase greatly... well, for a Pony I'm sure it'll be great. Either way you'll be stronger and more powerful than before."

"I'm not sure that's a good idea. I'm still learning how to control my newfound magic, not to mention I just took in a lot magic! Are you sure my body will be able to handle it?"

"Don't worry, everything will be fine." Kibito Kai assured.

Old Kai nodded. "It'll be completely harmless, and we'll help you control your power as well. We'll start simple. Do you see that stream over there?"

She looked over to her left, and saw said body of water.

"Look at how calm it is, how the water is flowing smoothly. Now think of your body as that stream, and the magic as the water. While overflows can happen they can also be controlled, you just need to calm yourself. Deep breathes and meditation do wonders. And once you have that down it'll be easier for you to use your magic despite how much is inside. With my help you'll be a natural. So what do you say?"

"Well... okay, I'll do it!"

And there we have it, Part One complete! For the most part it was the same as the episode, just with some scenes cut out/changed. I switched the Discord/Tirek scene and the library scene, mostly because it flows better with how the chapter plays out. A lot of big things happened in this chapter. Hatchiyak/Baby made their return, and is about to go head to head with Super Saiyan 2 Vegito. Don't worry, there will be plenty of action next chapter. You'll find out how they returned in the next chapter, and also what happened with Tirek and Discord... totally unrelated... or are they?

Also can somebody say Ultimate(or Mystic) Twilight Sparkle! Believe it or not this idea came to me years ago, and it's great to finally be at this point! I feel like Twilight would have some inner potential, as seen by her entrance exam. Her magic grows stronger over time, and I feel like she still has a lot of potential yet untapped. And yes even with the other Princesses Magic her latent potential could still be felt by Old Kai. So it seems like Twilight will be a little more prepared going into her fight with Tirek, assuming nothing goes wrong on his end.

That's all for now, thank you so much for reading!
