So my back is still in pain and I'm facing Sera tonight in a no DQ match. Both of our titles are on the line, and after just winning my title back, I don't want to lose it again. It should be a good match, even if I can't do a suicidal bomb. I've talked that over with Sera, and we feel we can work around that, especially when we can play with weapons. Its my first time properly on Raw, and I'm versing my old good friend.
Match
Lillian announces the match and us. In the ring as the bell rings, we give each other a quick low-five and get straight into it. It's five minutes into the match before either of us grab a weapon. She grabbed a steel chair. Don't hit my back, please. I've just gotten up from the canvas, she knocked me down before she grabbed the chair. She jabs me in the stomach with the chair then whacks it on my back. I scream in pain and roll out the ring. I need something to defend myself. Not a chair. Tables and ladders are no help at the moment. And no sledgehammer in sight. Kendo stick will have to do. With a kendo in hand, I head back into the ring. Sera has been playing the crowd. I swing the kendo stick around a few times, holding my back.
"Lets do this!" I yell
We hit each other multiple times, bruises are starting to appear. I gain the upper hand for the first game in the match and go for the pin.
"1, 2…" the referee counts, pounding on the canvas
Sera kicks out just after 2.
We go back and forth for the next ten minutes, getting through multiple weapons. Those weapons includes kendo sticks, chairs, a monitor, camera, a sign from the crowd and some containers. Yes, food and drink containers, thanks to the first row of fans. We've cleaned the announce table. She goes for the go to sleep on top of the table, I reverse it into the twist of fate, destroying the table beneath us. The ringside trainer and a couple of referees check on us, as the crowd chants "This is awesome" over and over again. We smile while we ache in pain.
We are back in the ring now with a sledgehammer by my side, but she has be locked in the anaconda vise. I grab the sledgehammer, while screaming in pain, swinging it to hit her in the stomach. Her grip has loosened. Thank god, my back is killing me. I hit her again in the stomach with the sledgehammer. I'm out of the grip, finally. I hit her again with the sledgehammer, just to be sure, as I get up from the canvas.
Sera goes from a chair shot, but I duck and miss it, swinging around for a vintage kick, hitting the chair to her face. I collapse on top of her.
"1, 2, 3, ring the bell"
I've won, but I'm in too much pain to celebrate. I can hear my music but I can't move. The referee picks me up by pulling on my arm and raises my arm. He hands me my title belt and I hold it tight. Sera hugs me as I scream in pain. It was a great match, and the best person won. Me.
I limp my way back to the backstage. I head straight to the trainers office, ignoring everyone that is trying to congratulate me on the match, along with Sera.
"This is bad, Zoe, I think you should take a few weeks off to rest" he says
"Don't tell me that!" I complain, in pain
"I'm sorry, but that's the truth. I'll write a slip for two weeks bedrest. You won't miss much in the couple of weeks"
"Thanks" I moan before going to the women's locker room to freshen up. I'll hand this doctors note to David of talent relations, once I've freshened up of course.
David wasn't too happy about it, but understood the reasoning. I guess I'll head home.
"Hey, where you going?" Matt asks as he stops me and my little suitcase walking down the hall.
"Home, doctors' orders" I reply, planting a small kiss on his cheek
"Are you taking the car?"
"No, I'm going to get a cab and a plane, then another cab"
"If you're sure then"
"I've denied the doctor for the past few weeks, I'm not doing another week of this in this much pain"
"I guess I'll see you in a few days" he says, disappointment spreading across his face
"Yeah. I'll tell Lucas you said hi" I finish, kissing him before heading out of the arena.
I don't say bye to anyone else, I don't want them to make a fuss. I've had an underlying back problem for my whole life and it's starting to take hold of my life. See you all in a couple of weeks.
