Jeff had never run so fast. Even though her hotel was not far from his own. He'd never been this nervous in his life. He could feel it building in his stomach. Jeff tried to block it out as he ran. His black and green hair had come loose and flared out behind him. People stared and spied the man curiously as he darted through the crowd. They didnt realise he was possibly on the most important mission of his life.
In a blur of black and green in jeans and leather jacket, Jeff bolted up the drive and through the entrance and past the bewildered concierge at the hurried man.

"Sir...?"

Jeff threw a hand up and waved him off. He knew where he was going. The elevator halted his tracks and he punched the button furiously. Patience was not Jeff's virtue right now. He rode the elevator trying to cram into his mind all he would say. It was like trying to traffic control ten lanes of super highway. There was the usual ding, and the steel doors parted. Moment of truth time. He exhaled hard and started out and down the corridor. He turned left following the room numbers and stopped dead in his tracks.

She was right there in the corridor. Her handbag between her feet as she pulled her biker jacket on. She picked up the bag and pulled up straight and froze as she turned. She saw him. Emil came out from behind her and caught himself mid sentence when he laid eyes on Jeff.

"Jeff..." she said barely audibly.

"Jupiter."

Emil was scowling at the arrival of Jeff. Logan steeled herself. What was he even doing here?

"Why are you here? Why now?"

"Im here for you." Jeff's green eyes pleaded with her as he spoke.

"So you thought to just show up? Not a single word from you and you just show up".

Not a word? Thought Jeff. How did she not see the emails? Was she really going to pull that?

"You know damn well I emailed you. I told you how id been getting help. That I was me again. That I was reclaiming the person you knew. I told you I was going to come to you when I was whole".

Logan started to fume. Why was he lying?

"I got no such thing. Its one thing to claim you came for me, another to lie".

"I can damn well prove it." Jeff raised his voice. He was not going to be called out like that.
Jeff pulled out his phone and started to access his email account. As he did Emil closed his eyes in a nervous moment. He was going to have to admit it. Maybe she'd understand. He was protecting her. After all Jeff is the one who had caused all her pain and tears.

"Logan.." he started. But he was cut off.

Jeff thrust the phone in her hands and pointed at it.

"See? There. In my sent folder".

Logan snatched the phone, her temper was on a spilling point right under the surface. She looked down at the screen. And to her surprise, there was the proof. He had been sending to her. But why had she not gotten them? She had not blocked any of his communication.

"How did I not..."

"Logan I.." Emil started again.

"Shh Emil, something is wrong. How did I not get these?"

"Because I deleted them". There. Emil said it.

Logan turned and looked surprised at the omission. Emil deleted her mail from Jeff.

"What in the actual fuck Emil? Why? Why would you do this?!" she raised her voice.
Emil slid his hands over his head, pushing his raven hair back. His breath quickened.

"I was protecting you".

"I dont need protecting".

"You have been in such pain. Crying in utter pain. And it was all because of him. Im sorry, I could not let him hurt you anymore." Emil grabbed her hands. "I love you Logan, you know I do, and it was fucking breaking my heart to see you like this."

Jeff's anger bubbled up and dived for Emil and shoved him hard across the hallway. They grappled with each other, latching onto each other's jacket collars and pushing each other around and against the corridor walls.

"Jeff! Emil!" Logan yelled at them. Trying to get them to stop. She threw her bag and Jeff's phone on the floor. She forced her way between them and separated their grip on each other.

"Will.. you both.. knock it off!"

Her head was spinning. She was done. Utterly done with men and their shit. She threw her hands up and backed off.

"You know what, fine. Fuck it. Kill each other."

They both put down their hands and fists and stared at her confused.

"No really, do whatever you neanderthals want. Im done. Im out."

Jeff and Emil both called her name. Jeff reached a hand out. She side stepped the both of them and went picked up her bag. She began back stepping down the hall.

"No. No. Fuck you" she pointed at Jeff and then Emil, "And Fuck you. Fuck both of you."
She turned hard on her heel and legged it and jumped in the elevator closing its door on both of them.

Both men stood shoulder to shoulder in front of the elevator. Quietly. Each could hear the other breathe and fidget. Jeff pushed his hair back and retied it while Emil ranhis fingers through his and flipped it behind his shoulder and readjusted in his leather jacket. They side glanced each other.

"Well that didn't.." Emil started.

"Go how either of us intended." Jeff finished.

Green eyes met blue eyes as the two men turned and faced each other. They studied each other. Quietly at first. Jeff hit the elevator button.

"We need to sort this out before we go to her."

"I agree."

"Beer? Lobby bar?"

Emil nodded in agreement and they stepped into the elevator silently. Once again standing shoulder to shoulder watching the numbers count down as they descended. Neither spoke a word even as they walked through the lobby to bar, keeping about two feet apart. They ordered their drink each and found a table. The tension was thick as the men sat across from each other. Green meeting blue in some unspoken staring contest.
