Chapter 55: Robotic Madness
"I can't believe Morzard just did that..." Chopper trailed as he stepped through the door. Before him was a tall room with a few platforms floating above. Luckily, these platforms had Springs that helped him launch higher up. Before he knew it, he was already at the door to the sixth floor.
As Chopper stepped into the first room of the sixth floor, his eyes widened at the sudden change of scenery. Sure, the scarlet carpeting was there, but it was a darker color than before. For the walls, they now depicted various types of stardust. Plus, the torches on the walls were now black instead of red.
"Oh... I don't like the looks of this place more..." Chopper gulped.
To make matters worse, two Phantom Hands were present in this part of the room. He immediately trembled at the sight of them, but he knew that standing here wouldn't do any good. Taking a deep breath, Chopper ran ahead, dodging the Phantom Hands. He tried inhaling them, but that didn't do any good. So instead, he resorted to stomping on them when they missed his feet.
After passing those defeated Phantom Hands, he found a small bridge with Dark Flames circling around it. Considering that he saw their pattern before, Chopper took his time when crossing the bridge, and eventually he reached the end. There was a small, curved incline ahead, but he noticed a chandelier going to an alternate route above.
"Maybe I can find an ability up there?" Chopper wondered, getting enough speed to run up. He landed on the chandelier, but it began to shake momentarily, so he jumped off and landed on higher ground. Rolling around was a Wheelo. "Oh! That'll help me!"
Inhaling the Wheelo, he got the Wheel ability and immediately turned into a wheel. With the increased speed going down a slope, along with his Wheel Dash, Chopper easily dispatched the Darklings that were floating around that slope.
After rolling down another incline, it eventually curved up to put a halt to Chopper's speed. A Darkness and Darkmin were standing on the path ahead, with the latter charging at him first. One Wheel Dash sent it flying away, while the Darkness was another story. It easily dodged his attack, forcing Chopper to turn back to himself and stomp on its head. When the Darkness was on the ground, he used a Wheel Dash to finish it off.
Once that was done and over with, Chopper proceeded to the end of the path, where he found a loop down below on the main path. He was about to jump down, but he noticed an Ice Hand on the top of the loop. One jump down there, and Chopper had gotten the Ice Hand's ability after grabbing it.
There was no need for him to even jump down and run through the loop. There was a floating black platform up ahead, and it was leading to a ledge where the door was. After going across the platform, Chopper reached the door and entered the next room.
To Chopper's disappointment, the only thing that was in front of him was a gate. However, right near it were two switches. He pressed the first one, causing the gate to open, but he stopped when another gate was past that. Pressing the second switch opened the next gate.
Understanding what to do here, Chopper waited for the gates to close, then he hit the second and then the first. With both gates open, he raced through the small, narrow hallway until he ran out into a more open part of the room.
While Chopper continued to run, he looked at the wall, and he suddenly gained an unnerving feeling.
All over the walls, above the black torches were large, red eyes. Their pupils stared at Chopper, and they continued to follow him. Even though they didn't seem to be dangerous, the fact that they were watching him was giving Chopper some serious discomfort.
Because of this, he was distracted long enough for something to hit him and knock away his ability. As Chopper got up, he found the enemy on a small step ahead who was responsible for the attack.
The Kunen threw a few more shurikens to stop Chopper, but he ducked underneath them and then inhaled the enemy once he reached it. Now with the Ninja ability in his hands, confidence grew within Chopper.
Up ahead, Chopper's running had come to a halt when there was a high ledge above him. In the walls were some Fire Rods spinning around. Unlike the ones on the previous floors, the fireballs were black.
Chopper looked around for a way to get up there, but his answer was already in front of him in the shape of a black pole. It wasn't long, but its height was enough to reach another pole above and so on.
Grabbing onto the first pole, Chopper started his climb, while doing his best to stay out of harm's way. One Dark Fire Rod had just barely touched the purple plume of hair on his samurai helmet. It was even more annoying when he had to wait for the next Dark Fire Rod on his left to get out of his way to jump to the next pole.
Eventually he reached the ledge and let out a sigh of relief. However, he barely had time to take a break when two Darknesses open fired. Chopper ducked underneath their attacks and started throwing kunais. One of them held their arm in front of them and created a purple, translucent shield made of energy. All of his projectiles had bounced off and hit the ground as a result.
Because of this, Chopper had to come up with another strategy. He sped up to the Darknesses, and when they tried to attack, he grabbed the first and performed his Air Drop. The first Darkness had been knocked toward the other, and as a result, both were defeated.
With the way clear, Chopper proceeded down an incline, which eventually turned into a U-shaped pathway. After running up the curved path and landing, a slope going up was ahead. He was about to run, but three fire geysers spouted dark fire.
After the fire was gone, Chopper sped up the slope and found a pillar over a small pit. Of course, down below was a low route, but he chose not to take his chances with that and jumped across the pillar and to the main route. There, he ran up a small curve and found more eyes staring at him. Two Shadoms had also come off the wall and flew his way. Two ice balls and a kick managed to dispatch them.
Chopper proceeded ahead, spotting a block platform above with a double-sided Dark Fire Rod spinning around. Past that, he spotted a Sparkle and Commander Hash. The small hero took his time with the Dark Fire Rod, and once past that, he swung his kunai while dashing toward the two enemies ahead, taking them out.
After jumping up a small ledge, Chopper spotted three U-shaped paths ahead. Floating above were dark spheres with two Dark Fire Rods sticking out from opposite sides. In between these pathways were Darknesses there to greet him with their weapons aimed at him.
"Oh, man... This isn't good." Chopper gulped. Well, he couldn't just sit here forever. He waited for the moment the Dark Fire Rods were not sticking upward, and Chopper made a jump across. Once near the Darkness, he jumped and performed a Ninja Kick. While it was stunned, Chopper froze it with an ice ball, and then kicked it away.
The last two jumps across were not that difficult, and he quickly did away with the next two Darknesses. With that all done, he proceeded through the door ahead.
Several tall pillars appeared around Chopper as he stepped into the next room. However, he hardly had time to pay attention to that when all of the eyes on the walls stared at him. They didn't seem to show any emotion, but it was enough to creep the boy out.
"I don't like those things..." Chopper shuddered. "Why do they keep looking at me?"
Regardless, Chopper started to get a move on. However, there were some sections of the floor with an open gateway. Chopper stepped through one of them, and suddenly a black laser came down and struck back.
"Owie!" Chopper cried, getting knocked back from the sudden attack. When he shook his head, he looked back at the gateway. About every five seconds, a dark laser had moved down horizontally. "Oh... So I need to wait until that goes down?"
And so, Chopper waited for the laser beam to come down, then he proceeded through the gateway. What awaited him was a black, spinning cylinder. Just running on it made Chopper move around. Strangely, even when upside-down, he did not fall off. Of course, falling off was not ideal, as two Phantom Hands were below.
After running past the cylinder, Chopper saw the path go up to the ceiling where a pulley was. Going upside-down, he grabbed the handle, and was reeled up. Chopper jumped off and stomped on two Darklings that were in the way.
However, before he could speed off, Chopper was put to a halt when two familiar hammers from before started hitting the floor in the background. Despite hitting the ground pretty hard, it didn't do any damage...
But Chopper was able to handle this with no problem. When the hammers rose, he instantly sped past them and ran up a small slope. A Spring waited for him at the top, so he used it to launch up to a high ledge.
When landing, Chopper spotted an alternate route above him. The walls above looked narrow enough for him to perform a wall jump. Since those were the most rewarding for him, Chopper jumped up and used his Ninja ability to cling to the walls and jump off each. When he landed on solid ground, a bridge made of darkness awaited him ahead, and it flashed for a few seconds before disappearing. A moment later, it was back.
Chopper took this opportunity to run across while he had time, and then he ran up a wall before landing on the ledge above. Before he had time to look across, a dash panel was just up ahead. Stepping on it, Chopper sped through the flat pathway until a Spring pushed him back. Good thing the dash panel was there to push him forward!
When he got back near the Spring, Chopper jumped over the small steps and ended up bumping into a wall. Looking up, he spotted a secret passageway, and through there appeared to be an apple. He happily ate it to refill his health, then he broke out of the wall and landed on some chandeliers. They weren't very sturdy, so Chopper had to jump across each one until he reached solid ground.
The door was just up ahead, but a large gap was in the way. Chopper looked down and spotted some moving platforms with Springs. It was safe to assume that he would've had to use those had he gone the normal route.
But that was no worry for him! Chopper sped in place before running forward, using the momentum to jump across and crash into the door. Coincidentally, this knocked the door over and led to the next room.
"Ow... My head..." Chopper mumbled as he stood up and proceeded into the room ahead. To his dismay, Maquano Statues were pretty abundant here. "Oh, not these guys again..."
Chopper remained cautious here, waiting for the statues to make their attack as he got near. When they swung, he acted quick, running past the statues and reaching a gate with a switch above. One press from the switch, and the gate was open.
However, the danger wasn't over yet. When he entered a narrow part of the hallway, the floor and ceiling were filled with danger. Some parts were filled with wide generators producing dark electricity. Chopper made sure to beware of those, as a high jump or a low one could be a bad move.
Thankfully, Chopper was quick to make his strategic jumps and not get shocked. In the end, he got out of the narrow hall and was back into a more open one. A large pit stood before him, while high ground was not too far above. Standing in the gap was a string of black platforms. Chopper jumped on it, and it tilted to the left, forming some sort of staircase for him to go up.
Smiling, Chopper climbed up the platforms and reached the ledge. He was met with another flashing bridge, so he waited until it was gone, then he ran ahead and jumped up another ledge above him.
To his surprise, Chopper found a black panel on the floor near a pit filled with Phantom Hands. Stepping on it had activated a dark, translucent path that moved in a snake-like fashion. Heck, Chopper didn't need to gain some speed to go on it. In an instant, his feet were moving on the dark road.
"Whoa! This is crazy!" Chopper gaped as he went through many turns. The path had formed a loop for him to run through, and then it went in a spiral fashion.
Unfortunately, he didn't have enough time to fully enjoy the run. Once Chopper was at the end, he was on solid ground running up another small slope. After jumping over a small ledge, two Darknesses open fired. Chopper threw some ice balls to counterattack, and once frozen, he performed another kunai swing.
Once that was done, Chopper spotted the door ahead, but there were some more generators in the way. Thankfully, they were only on the ground, so a simple jump over them was enough. All that remained was a small staircase...which contained a spinning Dark Fire Rod.
Because of this, Chopper remained patient and waited for the Dark Fire Rod to go into the stairs, then he climbed up them before proceeding through the door. Unfortunately, he saw no sign of any way up. Chopper sighed in annoyance as he walked through the small room, then he ascended.
Wait, what?
For some reason, a part of the ground was emitting dark particles that made Chopper slowly ascend. He was about to question what was going on, but he immediately forgot about that when the door was just in front of him. As Chopper landed on solid ground, he entered through the door.
Chopper was feeling more confident as he stepped into the next room. Now that he was at the seventh floor, he wasn't that far off from reaching Maquano on the floor above. As for the room itself, it was a lot similar to the lower floor, only a little darker, and that made things more uneasy for Chopper.
Wasting no time, he made a run for it, going down a small slope and then to a short upward curve. As he ran up and landed, Chopper spotted another slope going down with a loop past that. However, there was also a small platform moving vertically leading to the top of the loop.
Though running fast was tempting, Chopper chose to go onto the platform. Upon landing on the top of the loop, a Cooler had surprised him, and with one ice attack, his Ninja and Ice Hand abilities were knocked away. After freeing himself from his icy prison, Chopper inhaled the Cooler to get the Ice ability.
Now that he was back to being cool, Chopper skated over to a string of black platforms he saw on the previous floor. He jumped on the furthest to the left, causing the platform to tilt down that way. With them forming a staircase, Chopper jumped up each step and reached higher ground. There, he found a small bridge with Dark Flames circling around. Past that, a Darkness was firing from the top of a small staircase.
Chopper tried freezing the Dark Flames when he got close, but to his dismay, it had no effect. So, he did what he normally did and avoided them while crossing. Once at the small staircase, the Darkness fired a grenade from its weapon, but Chopper froze the projectile in midair and kicked it back. While it was stunned, he froze it with his cold breath and kicked it into the wall.
Unfortunately, all Chopper was led to was a dead end. He looked up to see any way up, but for some reason, the wall was getting taller than before.
Wait a minute...
Chopper looked down, and noticed a section of the floor was falling. He panicked and looked around for a place to land. To his relief, a chandelier was nearby, so with one jump, he landed on it. Thankfully, this one was sturdy compared to the others.
It was a good thing he landed on the chandelier. After all, tall pillars were below him, and one slip-up could lead him down the lower path, which was filled with Phantom Hands.
However, that didn't guarantee his safety, especially with the Shadoms and Gorrys floating around. But no fret! Jumping across each chandelier, he used his Ice Sprinkle to freeze the Gorrys and kick them away. For the Shadoms, all he had to do was use his Ice Storm to take them out.
At the last chandelier, Chopper found another pulley hanging from the ceiling. He grabbed it, bringing him down to the main path. After running down a small slope, an incline had gone up to a wall. Chopper ran up it and found another path filled with purple eyes watching him.
"First red eyes, now these?" Chopper shuddered, ready to make his way through. That was, until a purple laser struck him and knocked away his ability. When he got up, he looked around for an enemy, but surprisingly, he found none. "Huh? Where did that come from?"
As he looked around, Chopper's antennae sensed another laser. He jumped to dodge the attack, and that was when he realized where the attack was coming from.
"Those eyes can attack too? Oh, man... That stinks!"
Because of this, Chopper found himself taking his time through this hallway, jumping over any lasers coming his way. Thankfully, that had come to an end when the door was ahead. After jumping over the last laser, Chopper opened the door and ran into the next room.
The first thing Chopper was greeted with was a high wall in front of him. As he reached the dead end, a hidden Spring launched him up to the ledge, where he landed past the wall. Surprisingly, the room itself was not too big. Sure, there were small pillars with Dark Flames circling around them, but he simply walked past them.
However, the biggest obstacle happened to be up ahead. Standing before him was a Giant Maquano Statue. Worse, it was animate.
The statue rose its giant sword and drove it directly at Chopper. He jumped back to dodge it, while the blade went into the ground. Taking advantage of the moment, Chopper ran up the blade and proceeded to go up to the head.
With one stomp, the statue began a slow fall backwards.
The room shook as the Giant Maquano Statue hit the ground, but Chopper had just landed when the tremor stopped. All that remained was the hallway ahead leading to a door. Two gateways were along the way, and unfortunately, one laser caught him.
Nevertheless, racing through that one and then the next didn't prove to be too tough. Only one obstacle remained, and it was two generators on the floor. There was a platform in the middle, but jumping on it caused it to shake for a brief second before dropping. Thankfully, Chopper had jumped off before it could hit the sparking generator, and he landed right in front of the door.
"That was close..." Chopper sighed as he entered the next room.
The moment Chopper stepped through the door, there was already a drop below. There was a path just up ahead, although jumping over there was not something Chopper could reach. So, without much of a choice, he jumped down below.
Only for his fall to come to a halt. He was...ascending?
Looking down, Chopper noticed dark particles rising from the floor. Remembering from going up to the seventh floor, he remained patient and let himself go upward. However, before going to the main path, there was a secret route to the upper left. He decided to go up there and climb up a pole waiting for him.
At the top, Chopper jumped off and proceeded onto the upper path. A few Maquano Statues were on this path, but he easily avoided them. A low chandelier was in sight too, along with a Darkness. Chopper bounced off its head and landed on the chandelier. He found a Fire Hand sitting there, so he grabbed it and got its ability. Afterward, he dropped down and dodged the other statues. A small curve upward was ahead, which Chopper ran up to stop his speeding.
Before he could move on, Chopper spotted an Atomb walking toward him. He decided to inhale it for its Crash ability, then he ran down a steep slope leading to a ramp. Launching off of it brought him to a slope going up to a door. Along the way, though, were several Gorrys, Shadoms, and two Darknesses.
Well, good thing he had the Crash ability! Chopper clenched his fists and unleashed a powerful explosion. Though it could only be used once, it did wipe out all of the enemies. Relieved, Chopper ran up the slope and headed through the door.
Stepping into the next room, Chopper was in for a surprise when he found a path ahead covered in curtains. Just running into it darkened his surroundings. But luckily, he could get a feeling of his surroundings. After all, whatever was a silhouette was most likely something he could land on.
A few flashes appeared just up ahead. Those were recognizable from the flashes from those dark bridges that he previously ran into. Once it reappeared, Chopper ran across, then he avoided the circling Dark Flames that were near a few small pillars.
For his next obstacle, there was a vertical conveyor belt containing some half circle platforms. ...Well, at least that was what he saw. The path was not too far ahead on a ledge, but he swore he saw a Copy Essence past the conveyor belt. Curiosity got to him, and soon he was approaching it.
But a Phantom Hand surprised Chopper, grabbing his foot. He let out a shriek as he chucked fireballs rapidly. This seemed to do the trick, as the Phantom Hand exploded into dust, and the dark portal was gone. After that was done, Chopper grabbed the Copy Essence, and he had gotten the Stone ability.
Since there was nowhere else to go, Chopper took the platforms on the conveyor belt up to the ledge, and once he landed, he ran onward until he was out of the curtains. Relief hit the boy as he ran up a small curve. A Darkness fired its weapon ahead, but in his stone form, it couldn't even leave a scratch!
Chopper reverted back to normal and dodged the Darkness's shots, and once he jumped above, he turned into a statue of himself and crushed the enemy. After getting out of that form, he jumped over a small ledge, avoided a sleeping Wooly, and found some small platforms. In between some of these platforms were Copy Essences of Sleep.
Of course, the lower path was filled with the likes of Dark Fire Rods to slow him down. But there was no way Chopper was going to let himself fall so easily! Taking a deep breath, he carefully timed his jumps and leaped from platform to platform.
More relief had hit Chopper once he was across. A gate was in the way, but one touch from the switch opened it and allowed him to progress further. After going up a small curve, he smashed another Darkness using a stone fist, then he saw another black panel before him. Jumping on it, another dark path had revealed itself.
"Oh, boy! Another one of these!" Chopper cheered as he stepped on the path and began to go at full speed. Unlike the other one, this one only moved in a spiral fashion.
However, it wasn't long until Chopper was off the dark path and back onto solid ground. The path had led up to higher ground, where Chopper had run into a small, narrow hall with only one obstacle: Copy Essences of Sleep.
Unfortunately, Chopper was a little too reckless in this spot. He ended up running into the second Copy Essence of sleep, and he was immediately feeling drowsy.
Five seconds passed, and Chopper had quickly awoken, only without his Stone ability. After rubbing his eyes, he ran and jumped over a few more Copy Essences. When he reached the end, he jumped off the edge, and to his surprise, he found himself ascending.
More dark particles appeared below, and they were apparently pushing him higher up in the room. That was all right for Chopper. After all, he would get a chance to relax for once!
...For only about two seconds.
A Dark Fire Rod had struck him, catching him off guard. The moment he looked up, more Dark Fire Rods were placed around the area. Chopper let out an annoyed sigh as he moved himself around the narrow area to avoid the fire. By the time he reached the top of the room, he smiled and entered the door.
"I think I'm almost there..." Chopper trailed as he stepped into the next room. With how many enemies and obstacles he saw ahead, perhaps he was right. "And hopefully I'll get to the top floor soon!"
Chopper started off by stomping on the two Darklings that stood in his way, then he dodged the lasers coming from the purple eyes on the walls. After jumping up some small steps, he spotted Dark Flames forming what appeared to be a jump rope. Once they were near the path, Chopper had made a jump over them.
Luckily, it wasn't that long of a jump rope they made, so before he knew it, he was back to running. In fact, a slope was already going down to a path leading to a wall in the background. Chopper ran down the incline, then he started to run across the wall. Some Dark Flames appeared, attempting to get in the boy's way. Despite their efforts, they were unsuccessful in their job as Chopper zipped past them and returned to the path on the foreground. There, the path curved up to the wall, and Chopper had gone taken this to higher ground.
Two Phantom Hands were in the way, and as much as he didn't want to do it, Chopper had to go fight them. He stood at a distance that caught their attention, but wasn't too close. Once their hands rose from the portals, he started shooting fireballs. Five seconds later, and they were gone.
Past those enemies and two Maquano Statues, Chopper was surprised to find another U-shaped path. However, the downside to this was that a Dark Fire Rod was right above it. So he landed on the upward curve, and after finding the right moment, Chopper gained some speed to go up the path and land on higher ground once more. There, he found a small slope with a dark fire geyser shooting out in the middle leading up to another Giant Maquano Statue.
Taking a deep breath, Chopper ran up the slope and approached the Giant Maquano Statue. It did the same thing as the other and drove its blade into the ground. Chopper simply ran up it and performed a fiery stomp to its head a few times. Eventually it tried to smash him with its own fist. ...However, that only backfired when he got out of the way and let it hit itself.
With it falling on its back, Chopper ran down the statue as if it were a slope and reached a Spring leading up to the door. Standing in the way, however, were four Darknesses, each equipped with a different weapon.
They all fired, and immediately Chopper started dodging and running. He inhaled a few of their shots and spat them out, but one in front put up a shield to block them. So, instead, Chopper inhaled the shield, and by spitting it out, he took out that Darkness. The other three, however, were a little more offensive. Chopper decided to conjure up a larger fireball in his hands, and with it, he threw it at one of them. This easily took it out, giving the hero a chance to inhale another and spit it at the other, destroying them as well.
Relieved, Chopper finally entered the door and into a small hallway. An apple was lying on the ground, which he happily ate to heal himself, while three Copy Essences were by the next door. These included Parasol, Suplex, and Tornado. For now, he decided to touch the second for its ability, and once he was ready, he entered through the door.
As much as Chopper wanted the next room to be the one leading up to the top floor, he found his face falling when he stepped foot in. It was similar to the rooms he had fought Morzard in, but this one was lacking pictures in the background. In fact, the background was pretty dark too!
The door was up ahead, and instantly Chopper sped over to it. However, a figure had landed in front of him instantly, forcing the boy to jump back.
"I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU, CHOPPER," Robo Chopper said, glaring at him with his glowing green eyes.
"Huh? You're still alive?" Chopper gasped. "But... You crashed into that barrier thingy!"
"YES, AND REMEMBERING THAT ONLY INCREASES MY HATRED FOR YOU EVEN MORE."
"Oh..."
"BUT NOW THAT THERE ARE NO OBSTACLES IN THIS ROOM THAT WILL GET IN OUR WAY, WE CAN FIGHT WITHOUT ANY ISSUES," Robo Chopper said as he clenched his fists. "BY THE END OF THIS FIGHT, YOU WILL KNOW WHY I SURPASS YOU IN EVERY WAY. NOW LET US END THIS."
Swinging his arms back, Robo Chopper charged toward Chopper.
Mid-boss: Robo Chopper
Robo Chopper has not forgotten about his previous defeats, and since then, he has learned a lot. With as much versatility as Chopper, he'll ensure his demise!
Chopper had immediately jumped out of the way as Robo Chopper ended up crashing into the door behind him. Seeing this as an opportunity to race to the door, he proceeded to do so. However, Robo Chopper noticed this, and after recovering, flew behind Chopper and grabbed his foot.
"THERE WILL BE NO LEAVING THIS BATTLE," Robo Chopper said as he proceeded to swing Chopper around. As he did this, his eyes flashed before releasing Chopper.
When Chopper got up, he noticed Robo Chopper's appearance slightly change. For starters, his silver body was a darker hue, and a blue ribbon was tied around his head. That, and his hands were red as well.
"Hey... I had those abilities first!" Chopper frowned, charging at Robo Chopper. Remembering from his fight in Toxic Forest, he started chucking fireballs his way. To his delight, the projectiles had hit his robot counterpart and knocked him on his back. However, he soon got up after that, making Chopper frown. "Wait... But didn't you...?"
"SINCE OUR LAST FIGHT IN THAT FOREST, MANY OF MY ORIGINAL FLAWS WERE REMOVED," Robo Chopper explained. "NOW THERE IS NOTHING THAT WILL STOP ME FROM EXTERMINATING YOU."
Grabbing Chopper, Robo Chopper leaped forward and smashed his foe onto the ground. Chopper was left dazed from the attack, but he quickly got up and attempted to grab Robo Chopper himself. Unfortunately, that didn't work out too well for him, since Robo Chopper simply flew out of harm's way.
Having the advantage in the air, Robo Chopper flew down and attempted to kick Chopper. He dodged it and quickly grabbed the robot. With a fiery punch, Robo Chopper was knocked toward the wall behind him.
Robo Chopper immediately got up and performed the same strategy as before. However, this time, he increased the speed of the drop, and then he flew up before Chopper could grab him. Robo Chopper kicked the ground a few more times before finally landing. With his right arm open, he shot fireballs toward Chopper.
Much to Robo Chopper's surprise, Chopper had grabbed one of the fireballs, leaped forward, and slammed the projectile onto his robotic counterpart. However, just as Robo Chopper fell on the ground, he delivered a fiery kick to Chopper's face, throwing him backwards.
"Ow..." Chopper mumbled as he stood up and rubbed his face. "If that's the only ability you're going to use, then this won't be too tough for me."
"THAT IS NEGATIVE. I HAVE COME PREPARED FOR THIS." Robo Chopper's eyes flashed as his two abilities were removed. A Copy Essence of Tornado suddenly appeared, and by scanning it, a tornado appeared on Robo Chopper's head. "I HAVE SCANNED THESE 'COPY ESSENCES', AND I CREATED MANY HERE. IT SHALL ASSIST ME IN ELIMINATING YOU."
Before he could get rid of the Copy Essence, Chopper ran up to it, and by touching it, he too had the Tornado ability.
"IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU GET THOSE ABILITIES. I AM STILL SUPERIOR TO YOU."
Spinning himself around, Robo Chopper transformed into a gray tornado that began to fly all over the place. Chopper did the same thing and went after his robot counterpart. Both attacks clashed, but they only bounced away from each other. They went in for another attack, with the results being the same.
Both eventually got out of their tornado forms and landed on the ground. Neither appeared to be harmed by the attack, but it didn't stop Robo Chopper from turning into another tornado. Chopper did the same, and the battle resumed.
The tornado attacks went on for a minutes, and still, the results were the same. When they got out of their tornado forms and landed on opposite sides, Chopper found himself sighing in frustration.
But then he looked at his red gloves, and he instantly had an idea.
Both went in for a tornado attack, but it was Robo Chopper who was overpowered in the end. Thanks to Chopper's flaming tornado, Robo Chopper was knocked onto the floor.
Robo Chopper decided to go with a different strategy this time. Rather than whirl in a tornado, he flew in the air and started firing mini tornadoes down. Chopper countered by firing some above, and while they did hit Robo Chopper, none of them fazed him. Even shooting a fire tornado didn't do too much.
Eventually Robo Chopper landed a stomp to Chopper's head before landing on the ground. This time, he discarded his Tornado ability and summoned a Copy Essence of Ice. This equipped him with a crown with ice crystals, and it also changed his entire body a light blue. His hands and feet, however, were a bluish indigo.
When Chopper shot fireballs, Robo Chopper put up an ice aura to stop them with his Ice Storm. With the projectiles frozen, he kicked them back at the boy and knocked away both of his abilities. Luckily, he managed to grab a hold of the Ice ability before the Copy Essence disappeared.
"You may have cold attacks, but mine are...ummm... Well they're going to take you down!" Chopper declared, skating over to Robo Chopper and performing an Ice Storm. He flew out of the way and suddenly shot cold breath from where his mouth would've been. Chopper quickly dodged it and jumped up to Robo Chopper. With an Ice Sprinkle, it was able to bring him back to the floor. "Stop flying around! It's annoying!"
Robo Chopper ignored him and went back into the air. This time, he performed an Ice Sprinkle while flying all over the place. He swooped down to try to attack Chopper, but he quickly dodged that and stomped on his head.
As Chopper went in for his next ice attack, Robo Chopper used his Ice Storm. Unfortunately for Chopper, despite coming to a halt, he ended up running into Robo Chopper's trap. With him temporarily frozen, his robot counterpart kicked him to the wall.
"THIS ABILITY BORES ME. I REQUIRE ANOTHER ABILITY."
At that moment, a Copy Essence of Spark appeared, and Robo Chopper acquired its ability. Now plumes of electricity were on his head. Chopper had also gotten its ability before Robo Chopper charged. Luckily, Chopper got out of the way and hit him with a Lightning Strike. One zap managed to stop Robo Chopper's movements.
For a moment, Robo Chopper's body emitted a few sparks, but he quickly shook that off before flying back up. He did a similar thing to Chopper by firing a Lightning Strike, only he did it more frequently. Unfortunately for Chopper, one of these bolts had struck him, and he found himself stumbling back a little.
"Ow... Not even I was able to do something like that..." Chopper mumbled.
"I TOLD YOU, I WAS MADE TO SURPASS YOU. OBVIOUSLY I AM THE SUPERIOR OF THE TWO."
"W-Well..." Chopper started, clenching his fists as he glared at Robo Chopper. "At least I'm not some kind of robot!"
Chopper leaped up to Robo Chopper, and with one stomp, he was thrown to the ground. Before the robot could do anything else, Chopper landed and unleashed his Spark Attack. Three hits, and Robo Chopper's ability was knocked away.
However, just as he got rid of his spark shield, Robo Chopper had kicked away his ability.
"IT IS TRUE THAT I AM A ROBOT, BUT I HAVE ALREADY ACCEPTED THAT I AM JUST A COPY OF YOU," Robo Chopper admitted. "YOU ARE THE REAL ONE, WHILE I AM JUST A MERE ROBOT. BUT THAT DOES NOT MEAN THAT THE ORIGINAL IS ALWAYS THE BEST, AS I AM ABOUT TO PROVE WHEN YOU ARE ELIMINATED."
With that, another Copy Essence appeared, this time it was of Bomb. Robo Chopper acquired its ability, gaining a light blue, floppy hat. Chopper had also gotten its ability, and soon bombs were chucked across the room.
However, Robo Chopper quickly took advantage of his speed and started dropping bombs all over the place. From the many explosions, Chopper was sent flying in the air, allowing Robo Chopper to grab him and throw him to the ground.
Chopper quickly got up and started combating Robo Chopper's speed with his own. The latter was about to drop more bombs, but Chopper was quicker with the job, and soon explosions sent Robo Chopper flying in the air. However, unlike his organic counterpart, he activated his thrusters and remained in the air.
"ANOTHER REASON WHY I AM MUCH BETTER THAN YOU," Robo Chopper taunted, tossing bombs below. Chopper stopped those bombs with his own, creating smoke in between them. Just as he was about to jump through, Robo Chopper had done it first, charging into him and knocking the boy to the wall.
While getting up, Robo Chopper extended his sharp fingers and went in for an attack. Chopper quickly took out a bomb and threw it, and because it made contact with his fingers, it exploded on Robo Chopper, knocking his Bomb ability away.
With that, another Copy Essence appeared, this time being Fire. Chopper was the first to obtain its ability, and he quickly took action by charging into Robo Chopper with Burn. The attack threw him back, but he kicked Chopper away while using his Burn attack, and he obtained the Fire ability as well. Much like Chopper, his body became red, while his hands and feet were a dark red.
To start off this part of the fight, Robo Chopper jumped over Chopper's Burn and landed on the opposite side of the room. Chopper was ready to attack, but to his surprise, Robo Chopper had skid backwards and quickly whirled around to shoot fire at him. He brought up his arms to defend against the attack, and while he did take damage, it wasn't enough to make him flinch.
Both breathed fire at one another, causing both to clash with one another. Unfortunately, Chopper appeared to be the only one who was struggling, forcing him to stop and jump out of harm's way.
If Robo Chopper had a mouth to grin, boy would he be doing that.
"THAT PART WAS EASILY ONE-SIDED," Robo Chopper remarked. "I DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THE AMOUNT OF TIME I BREATHE FIRE."
"Well... How about this then?" Chopper growled, charging at him with Burn again. Robo Chopper had done the same, and both had clashed. As they tried pushing each other back, both began to shake. So much, that both attacks caused them to be hurled back on opposite sides of the room, with their Fire abilities being knocked out.
Chopper was the first to stand up, but he found himself panting in exhaustion. Robo Chopper soon followed, but unlike him, sparks emitted from his body once more.
"DANGER. DAMAGE LEVEL INCREASING. I MUST CONTINUE THIS FIGHT."
Summoning a Copy Essence of Sword, Robo Chopper gained a green floppy hat and a sword in his right hand. Chopper had touched it as well, and he too got a hold of the ability.
Robo Chopper was quick to make the first strike, speeding toward Chopper with his sword ready. Chopper had done the same thing, and when the two crossed paths, a metallic clang echoed through the room. Both turned around and sped back toward each other, and another sound of swords swinging was heard in the room.
Chopper noticed Robo Chopper quickly change up his strategy by flying up to the ceiling and then thrusting his sword down. He jumped backwards to avoid the blade, then he delivered three sword swings that caught his robot counterpart off guard. That, however, didn't stop Robo Chopper from swinging back.
An idea struck Chopper's head as he blocked another one of Robo Chopper's swings. After dodging a vertical sword swing, he jumped back, and with enough energy charged into his blade, he fired a Sword Beam. Robo Chopper immediately countered with his own, but both projectiles went past each other and toward their targets. They dodged the attacks and jumped toward each other.
Chopper had performed an uppercut swing while jumping, then followed with an overhead one when landing. After flinching from the hit, Robo Chopper proceeded to jab at his opponent, finishing with a single slash. Chopper quickly recovered from that, and lunged at Robo Chopper to launch him backwards. His robot counterpart quickly got up, and using his thrusters, he flew above Chopper and thrust his blade down while dropping.
Eventually both blades clashed, and the two struggled to break off each other's guard. However, both of them ended up having the same idea, and after jumping backwards, they swung while passing each other.
One moment later, and both of their abilities were gone.
Chopper was having a difficult time trying to keep himself from falling, while Robo Chopper couldn't stop his body from twitching and emitting more sparks. However, neither planned on giving up, and when they turned around, both of their hands were balled up into fists.
"You're starting to bug me..." Chopper trailed. "All I want to do is go to the top floor, but you keep getting in the way."
"THEN LET US FINISH THIS NOW," Robo Chopper suggested, a Copy Essence of Fighter appeared between them. "YOU ARE GETTING TIRED, WHICH MEANS ELIMINATING YOU IS A HIGH POSSIBILITY."
"Well... Same to you too!" Chopper shot back, gaining the Fighter ability, while Robo Chopper got his after. He had acquired a red ribbon that was tied around his head.
Robo Chopper wasted no time in making his move. Flying up to Chopper, he performed a Spin Kick, which Chopper sped around to grab him from behind. With his Juudou Throw, he tossed back backwards onto the wall.
More sparks emitted from Robo Chopper as he flew off the wall. Going up to Chopper, he fired rapid punches before finishing with a Smash Punch. Chopper brought up his guard to take less damage, but it didn't stop him from skidding backwards. While Robo Chopper was about to fire another Smash Punch, Chopper had hit him first with a Force Blast.
"BZZZZRRTTT!" Robo Chopper exclaimed, more sparks coming from his body as he flew up and fired multiple Force Blasts down. Chopper ran around to dodge each, and once Robo Chopper stopped, he used a Rising Break to bring him down. While he was still on the floor, Chopper used his Down Kick to make more sparks emit from the robot. "I WILL NOT GO DOWN LIKE THIS."
As Chopper prepared to make another attack, Robo Chopper grabbed his foot and started swinging him around. Once he released the boy, he was flying all over the place, giving Robo Chopper the opportunity to hit him with a Rising Break of his own.
"Ungh... OK, you're really tough." Chopper admitted, taking a deep breath. "Morzard was tough, but you're really tough. I... I think I know what it feels like to fight myself... But you say you're better than me... Well, I don't care about that anymore! Besides, I've probably dealt with more stuff than you. If I could deal with that, then you shouldn't be a problem for me!"
"WE'LL JUST SEE ABOUT THAT," Robo Chopper challenged, charging at Chopper once more. Both had clashed, and the two exchanged blow to blow. Vulcan Jabs and Smash Punches were everywhere, and after the two received many hits from each other, Chopper ended the attacks by sending Robo Chopper flying back with a Rising Break.
As Robo Chopper crashed into the wall, his body started to twitch, causing him to shake his fists angrily.
"I WILL NOT BE DEFEATED LIKE THIS. CHOPPER, YOU WILL BE EXTERMINATED NOW."
Robo Chopper charged a Force Blast in his hands, and in two seconds, he hurled it Chopper's way. This was it. The attack that would finally end this antennae freak!
Except that wasn't the case.
To Robo Chopper's surprise, Chopper had ducked like a pancake and let the energy blast fly over him.
Before Robo Chopper could come up with any analysis, Chopper had leaped in the air, and with all his might, struck him with a Down Kick.
The sparks emitting from his body had become small explosions, and slowly Robo Chopper found his eyes flashing from dull to bright.
"BZZZZRT! THIS MAKES NO SENSE." Robo Chopper commented, his entire body shaking from the explosions. "HOW IS ONE CAPABLE OF SUCH A THING?"
"You mean what I did?" Chopper wondered innocently. "Well... I've always had that."
"LORD MAQUANO SAID I WAS MEANT TO HAVE YOUR ABILITIES AND MORE. YET I DON'T HAVE SUCH A THING LIKE THAT IN MY DATABASE. PERHAPS LORD MAQUANO DOES NOT KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU, NOR DO I KNOW AS WELL."
"...Yeah, exactly!"
"THOUGH I FALL HERE, LORD MAQUANO WILL SURELY BRING ME BACK STRONGER THAN BEFORE," Robo Chopper said, the flashes slowing down and the explosions getting bigger. "AND WHEN THAT TIME COMES, I WILL MAKE IT MY MISSION TO ELIMINATE YOU, CHOPPER. I...WILL...BE...UNSTOPPABLE..."
Once the flashes stopped, his eyes were completely dull, and with one explosion, Chopper was thrown back to the door. The explosion didn't last long, but when it cleared, robotic parts were everywhere.
"I... I did it!" Chopper smiled, jumping up with glee. "Robo Chopper's finally gone! Yay! ...Now all that's left is to go up to the top floor..."
Turning back to the door before him, Chopper put on a serious look before proceeding to the door. Much to his delight, the room he stood in had a staircase leading up to the top floor. Once he climbed up to the top, Chopper took a deep breath as he stood in front of the door.
"All right... Maquano is on this floor..." Chopper trailed. "Time to give him what's coming!"
Clenching his fists, Chopper kicked the door open and ran into the eighth floor room.
Well, that was that. Not only is this the last chapter of Chopper running through a level, but it is also the final chapter where the last mid-boss was fought. Not the most exciting way to end, but I thought the Robo Chopper fight was pretty decent...
Anyway... We're getting pretty close to end! Only five chapters remain, with the next being a boss fight!
