Hey SPN Fam,

Dark here, bringing you another chapter. Hope you enjoy.

Lizzy startles awake, "Sam?" Her tiny voice echoes softly in the silence of the dark, empty room. "Dean? Lilly?"

No one answers.

She sits up in bed, squinting as she looks around. "Ohs. They is no here." Her lips tremble as she speaks, breaking her words up.

"Lizzy?" Lucifer calls out calmly as he walks into the young girl's bedroom only a few minutes after she awoke. "Lizzy, are you okay?"

"Lu-lu-" Lizzy hiccups over his name, her tiny lungs heaving from her sobs.

"Hey, it's okay. I'm here." He sits on the edge of her bed, "What's wrong?" Clearly his minions had taken too long to report on her state if she could hardly breath.

Lizzy throws the blankets off and jumps into Lucifer's open arms, still hiccuping.

Lucifer's eyes widen, but he quickly recovers and wraps his arms around Lizzy's shaking frame. "Honey, it's okay. You're safe."

"I had- I hads ah scare dream." Lizzy sobs into his neck as her tiny fingers grip the fabric of his shirt.

"A scare dream?" Lucifer frowns, "A nightmare?" His lips curl into a small smile as Lizzy nods her head. "You want me to beat up the scary thing? I can do that you know." He'd walked through mortals dreams many times, unable to interact or even make his presence known, until his release from the cage. He was strangely glad for all the practice now.

Lizzy shakes her head, "No. I is not scared of scare dream anymore."

The frown returns before Lucifer gently pulls Lizzy back so he can see her tear streaked face, "Then why are you crying?"

"Ah cause I was scared," Lizzy admits as she rubs her eyes, "and there is no Sam or Dean or Lilly or mommy or daddy. I was all lone." Her whole body shakes with the force of a hiccup, "You was gone too."

"I'm sorry I wasn't here little one." Lucifer pulls her back into a hug, "I was working."

"Adults has works, I know." Lizzy nods, "But I is sad. I miss Sam and Dean and Lilly. I miss my mommy and my daddy."

"I know you miss them. And I'm sorry you're sad." Lucifer looks around the room, "You know what would make me feel better?"

"Are you feeling sick again?" Lizzy asks, pulling back just enough to look up.

Lucifer frowns, but leans over to turn the bedside lamp on, "I'm afraid I am." He says as Lizzy's eyes take in the sores on his face. He had no idea how to make her feel better about missing her friends or family, but he would shamelessly distract her with playing nurse, at least until she fell asleep again.

"Yours can do no more works." Lizzy tells him sternly, "You has to rest."

"If I lay down, will you read more of your book?" Lucifer asks as he scoots to the center of the bed to lay back against the pillows.

Lizzy smiles and picks up 'The Secret Garden', her cheeks still shiny from tears as she lays back with Lucifer, "Are you going to leave again?"

"I'll stay and protect you from the scare dreams." Lucifer tucks her against his arm, "Where were we?"

Lizzy happily turns the pages in the book, looking for her sticker book mark so she could start reading.

Lucifer smiles as he slowly frees himself from the sleeping Lizzy and stands. He'd stayed almost completely through the night, just to make sure her nightmare didn't come back. With light starting to peek in through the curtains, he didn't have long before she'd be up for the day.

His lips curl in anger as he looks to the door. He had expressly ordered the damned demons to get him if she woke up, immediately. He was working hard to earn her trust, so the longer she thought about the others, and the more time she spent crying, meant setbacks.

Now, his knuckles crack as his hands tighten to fists, he was going to find out what had taken so long, and enjoy doling out the punishment.

Lucifer sneers as a demon enters the room.

"Your Majesty uh… I'm sorry to interrupt-"

"Out with it!" Lucifer snaps quietly, looking at the sleeping Lizzy over his shoulder.

The blacked eyed man gulps as his eyes follow Lucifer's before he snaps back to attention, "Yes lord. We have new reports in my lord." He whispers, "About the Winchesters and-"

"Yes? What about the Winchesters?" Lucifer rolls his eyes, demons could be so dramatic and long winded.

"Well sir, we have reports of a demon summoning. One demon reports seeing the Winchesters as adults only a few hours ago. The other girl too."

"Ah." Lucifer waves the demon off absentmindedly as he turns back to the bed.

They must have the witch that cast the curse. The thought irritated him. It wasn't just a lowly angel and two old gods he was dealing with now. If he'd learned anything about the Winchesters, it was how unpredictable they could be. Lilly was also a wild card where Mae was concerned.

He sits down on the edge of the bed. He was willing to stick this out if he had to, but with Lilly an adult again, his brother had the advantage. So he could either fight two fronts, and possibly terrorize Lizzy in the process, or-

"Luc-fer, why you look sads?"

He hides the jump by turning towards the half asleep Lizzy, "Do I look sad?" He asks with a small smile. When had she woken up again?

"Uh huh." Lizzy smiles as she crawls over to sit next to him, "Did yous have ah scare dream too?"

"Well, kind of, but not really." Lucifer smiles as Lizzy's scrunched up face looks at him in confusion. "Well, I learned something that's good and bad, and now I don't know what to do."

"But yous adult. Adults always know what to do."

"Oh little one, if only that was true."

"I no understand?"

Lucifer reaches over and starts rubbing Lizzy's back, "Adults like to pretend that they have all the answers, but they don't."

"Oh." Lizzy looks away, but before Lucifer can think of something to say, she turns back, "So, what is you gonna do about the good bad thing?"

"I'm not sure." A slow smile breaks across his face, "Maybe you can help me."

Lizzy's face brightens, "Okies. I tries to help."

Lucifer nods before he slips from the bed to kneel in front of Lizzy, "Alright. First. Elizabeth, I want to make sure you know I will never hurt you."

"I knows. We is friends and friends do not hurts each other." Lizzy nods seriously.

"Exactly. We're friends." Lucifer smiles, "So, I learned that your other friends have figured out how to be adults again."

"My friends?"

"Yes. Sam and Dean. Lilly. They figured out how to be adults again." Lucifer frowns, "Would you like to go back so you can be grown up too?"

Lizzy's eyes lower and her lips tug into a small frown, "I do wants to see them. Can you comes too?"

Lucifer slowly shakes his head, "I'm afraid not Lizzy. You see, we're friends, but they don't think we should be."

"Why nots?"

"Well, I guess the biggest problem is they think I'm a bad guy."

Lizzy scrunches her face up, "But, you is nice."

Lucifer smiles, "Yes. I like being friends with you."

"Me too!" Lizzy returns his smile.

"That makes me happy." Lucifer stands and picks her up, "So, since you're up, why don't you teach me more more about pancakes?"

Lizzy giggles as she nods.

Lucifer walks down the stairs with Lizzy chatting away, only half paying attention as he thinks all his options through.

He was going to need some advice. Later he'd send some demons to possess a couple of child experts.
