This one was slow, sorry. I know it's a little short. The other stories will follow.
Mavis P.O.V
I kneeled on the ground blood pooling heavily around myself, running through my clothes and tainting my skin. My dress was ruined. it had been years since I had felt mortal touch and now the downbeat of blood was dragging me along with it to the ground. The Third's hand did not pass through me but instead it thrashed painfully on my back. I tried so hard to calm down, but earlier I had swallowed some of the blood - I could feel it swirling in my stomach any time I moved even slightly. I had to focus on what was said. Levy said it was Heaven's Blood - there was a detailed book on Tenroujima but it said nothing about time which was true. But I still refused to believe it would have worked on me.
I tried to focus on what Geni said. But I could not help but notice how she had climbed onto Bickslow's back and had covered herself from the rising blood. It was like she was scared of it - just as much as I was. But she was right in that the blood fall only ranged around Crocus and its mountains. And those mountains should not be moving. We all moved slowly, myself at a slower pace than all the others as I had not walked on actual legs since the day I died. The mountains shook with a thunderous roar as rocks broke free from the surface. I watched, but I paid it little attention as I chose to instead watch that Geni girl as she held a red Key to her lips and murmured gently into it. Her eyes steeled on the falling rocks, everyone was in a panic and were worried we would not get out of Crocus.
"W-what is that!?" The deep voice of Ichiya ran through our group, as silence was all that could be achieved by anyone else.
Turning to face the perils that caused the momentary loss of movement in the others. The mountains were rising and splitting into shapes that could only resemble men loosely. The rocks that were falling pitting together as some sort of flying creatures. Other parts slithered up from where the base of the mountain used to be. Huge rocks moved and eyes glowed in red flames of the devil. I scampered back with Makarov holding onto my arm to help me walk and because he was also in shock as to the events. "Basilisks..." A voice pondered quietly from the back, Evergreen was tilting her glasses forward so as she could see the creatures better.
"And gargoyles." Bickslow muttered, one hand holding his visor out of his eye line. His dull red eyes flickering to and fro on the winged creatures that dived at things unseen to us.
"And big ass trolls!" Cana screamed with her bottles floating in the blood around her. The clouds had not shifted but the onslaught had stopped steadily until there was no more than that which layered the ground. The mountain creatures were slow and bulky, moving in large steps and fighting with each other.
These three creatures ruled over the skies and land. Fighting them would be difficult because of all the blood swamping the ground. "We need to bleed the ground." I turned to Lisanna, eyes wide. My mind was scrambled at the time, nothing made sense. "Anyone with Earth Magic. Move the ground, make holes." She stuck a hand out, and pulled a green sword out of the air. "Do something to get rid of the blood." We watched in silence as she cracked her hand down and the plates below our feet split every way possible. The relief was tangible when the dark liquid started to filter on down below the cratered ground.
All the Mages who could use Earth Magic, or anything that could be used to split the ground moved away. Lucy spun a golden Key in the air and the pink haired maid fell from the sky and disappeared into the ground. Geni moved three black Keys and a blue Key out in front of her, over Bickslow's shoulder and four lights disappeared after Virgo into the ground. The fluid drained fast from all over the city but the ground was jagged and uneven to walk on. The clouds still vanquished the sun from the sky and now was spurting thin strips of red lightning to the ground. "Wh-why is this happening?" I heard the sweet voice ring from somewhere deep. A pile of rubble was moved to reveal Asuka hiding underneath a rock with Elfman holding her against his stomach.
"We don't know sweetie." Came her mothers voice as she scrambled across the rubble to take the girl from the hulk. "It's just happening." There was fear evident, and Asuka could hear it. But she made no sound.
I could not agree more with the woman but again all my focus was on Geni and Lucy who were huddled around a Key talking to it. Little lingerings of their voices caught on the edges of the wind that seemed to dance merrily in the air as if they had no concern for the musings around them, the words I picked up meant next to nothing - pieces of pronouns and others names. Words concerning the creatures in the sky and on the land. But their eyes... Their eyes glowed in the darkness of the night, in a way that was not possible. "We ha- There's no oth- Ca- The- N- We unders- Plea-" Things like this shuddered out in the whistling.
I watched them, and I felt fear rush through me in a way it never had when I saw her eyes. Geni's eyes. Those shiny golden eyes she was not supposed to have. Those eyes with faint runes flowing out to give a dull light to the Key in her hand, a Key glittering red like blood. Those eyes found their way to me and her lips stopped moving. For a few seconds I saw the panic that was held but it all faded to her normal look. Her lips pulled high in a motion I can only assume was meant to comfort me. But I could see there was no light or meaning in her eyes, she was not happy with being caught. And when Lucy stopped talking and realised I was looking, she gave me the same look as if to enforce that there was nothing wrong with what they were doing. I could see Bickslow a little ways behind them, just out of hearing range. Those green eyes lit beneath his helmet as he waited for Geni in case she needed him to carry her one more.
"As lovely as standing here is," A dry voice commented off to the side. Looking I saw tilted eyes and a sneering mouth of a woman who stood amongst the Sabers. "We should probably deal with the monsters first." She cast as disdaining eyes over everyone; panicked children and those old enough their brains were near scrambled. "Fight with those around you, take no bias cause we can do that when this is over."
"I-I agree." My throat felt raw and bile clung to the back of my tongue. "We m-must get rid of those creatures as fast as possible." I tried hard not to stutter over my words but being able to feel the elements again made it hard to cope. I took Makarov's hand and he walked with me to the top of the stadium alongside the other Guild Masters, from there we watched as our children walked out from the bottom of the podium from which the stadium stood. They had run the whole way down. Not a care for themselves but now they took cautionary steps out of the doors.
Individuals from the sides being picked off by gargoyles that began to swoop for their heads. Tears blurred my vision as I tried so very hard not to let it all get to me, but there were sometimes when even I had to cry. Not always can I be strong, this I knew so well but never before had I felt so inadequate to help those around me even though my Magic was limited.
