Hard Times - Part 51
(A/N: The following few installments of Hard Times will be written in a different point of view, following around different characters. The reason being so is because I'm more of an actiony kind of writer rather than a romance one, so I'd rather showcase a little more action while Rarity and Robert go on their honeymoon together. But for now, the perspective will be written from Princess Luna and follow around some other problems in Equestria. Do, please enjoy the next few parts of sidetracked writing. We will be switching back to the point of view of Robert soon.)
"My sister," Celestia said, "wasn't that emotional? Two Element holders coming together to be one with each other."
"I'm not too sure about that, my dear sister," I replied.
"Why not?" She asked me.
"It doesn't seem at all natural." I answered. "Those two have been back for about a week, two weeks tops, and they get married? Does that not seem unusual to you?"
"It most certainly isn't the way I would go about that, if and when that should come," my sister replied, "but if it makes them happy, who's to argue against that?"
"You do create a hasty point there, sister," I stated.
"And who knows," continued Celestia, "maybe it will be that way when you find your one special pony."
I blushed, thinking about my perfect stallion...strong willed, understanding, compassionate, lovable.
Robert was my perfect stallion...I mean, sure he was shorter than I was, but size does not matter to me since I am taller than the majority of my subjects. Princess Cadance was lucky enough to find Shining Armor being the same height she is, but that is the only other pony who is similar in height to either her or me that I know. My sister has a harder time seeing how she is nearly doubled the height of an average subject's height.
"Come now, Princess Luna," my dear sister continued, "best we get some sleep now. We've had an exhilarating day today."
"You go on ahead, my sister," I replied, "I want to stay and bask in the glory of my full moon for tonight."
"Okay, Princess Luna," answered Celestia, "just be sure to get some sleep tonight."
"Will do," I said before Celestia walked out of the room.
I turned around and walked out into the nearest balcony. I gazed up at the large, bright, beautiful full moon that I had risen, then paid more attention towards the hundreds of tiny stars I used to paint my nighttime sky.
I loved my nighttime sky, I really did. I just wished others basked in the glory of the night much like I did. There was, however, one location within Canterlot that always seemed to be awake during the night and asleep during the day, but then again, that is why they call it a night club. I had been over there a few times recently to help quiet the public, seeing how surrounding areas can hear the night club and always complain about noise pollution.
Today was no exception seeing how a couple of my royal guards asked me to help quiet them down...again.
"A lot of ponies are unhappy with the sound, Your Highness," one guard said to me.
"I'll take care of it, as usual," I replied, flying off towards the night club.
This night club knows me and my way by now, seeing how Vinyl Scratch is the only reason why they constantly get noise complaints, so this was an easy proposition to fix. All I did was fly over the building with my magic embracing my horn, and within a few seconds, Vinyl, or how they call her inside the building, DJ Pon-3, lowered the volume of her mixes a bit. It was still loud, but not loud enough to hear outside the place.
I stood around and flew for a little while longer. I loved flying through the cool, crisp air during these amazing autumn nights. It made me feel a bit more special than I usually do back at the castle.
I flew over a nearby forest and saw two ponies walk into the forest. That, I felt, was unusually strange, seeing how nopony dared ever enter into those woods in the middle of the night. I slowed down a bit, managing to her a quick glimpse at the two ponies before they disappeared into the woods. One was a green colored unicorn, while the other was a brilliant white colored unicorn, much like my sister's color.
"Those two look just like Robert and Rarity." I stammered.
I decided to follow them into the forest and see what these two unicorns were up to.
"Why are they going into the forest at this late hour?" I wondered, speaking out loud without realizing it at first.
I entered the forest and followed the two unicorns deep into the forest. They appeared to slow down tremendously since entering the forest, though I couldn't understand why.
"Why'd you follow us, Princess Luna?" The smaller white unicorn asked in a sophisticated feminine voice.
"What are you doing out in the woods in the middle of the night?" I immediately questioned.
"You didn't answer my question," the white unicorn continued.
"And you failed to answer mine!" I snapped.
"How about an eye for an eye, Princess?" The bigger green unicorn asked.
"What does thou mean?" I asked in reply, puzzled.
"Answer her question," the green unicorn continued, "and she'll answer yours."
"So why did you follow us, Princess Luna?" The white unicorn asked.
"You two are my subjects," I declared, "and I must be sure that all my subjects are safe and sound."
"It's a shame, really..." The unicorn continued.
"And why is that?" I replied.
"Hmph...you came out here to make sure we were safe, but you didn't think about your safety!"
The two then spun around and began to attack me right then and there. I was so surprised, not being able to budge at all.
"Goodbye, Princess Luna." The white unicorn told me.
