The next morning, at about 6 fucking AM in the god damned morning, Reborn woke up all and dragged us out to outer edge of the amusement park. Tired, most everyone was sluggishly following after the world's greatest and most annoying shitty hitman ever. Most everyone meaning people like Fon were wide awake and fucking lecturing the rest of us about waking up peaceful or whatnot.

"Alright, kiddies." Reborn snickered, "The park is empty. You all saw that mountain on the other side of the island where we had our little battle, right?"

"What mountain?" I grumbled, "I'd like to find a nice mountain to fucking crush you with."

The only person grumpier than me was probably Kyoya, "I'll bite you to death. No one disturbs my sleep and gets away with it."

"Kitty-cat and Hibari, be quiet." Reborn chided and continued on like we didn't glare at him, "Anyways, everyone give me your cell phones and radios. I want all your communicative devices."

We complained and we refused but there was no fighting Reborn. He confiscated everything like some sort of high school teacher that caught a bunch of students texting under the table. There was a massive shouting and whining session but I did notice something really strange. He was confiscating phones from people like Sasagawa Kyoko or Suzuki Hina too.

"Now that you're all a little more awake, I'll give you all instructions for the next part of our little game." Reborn snickered to himself as if he had already won a game he hadn't even announced, "From this very minute, you're all going to be racing across the island to the mountain on the other side. At the top of that mountain, there are two helicopters. Regardless of your presence, the helicopter will take off in twenty-four hours. If you don't make it we'll leave you behind. And of course, not all of you will fit into a helicopter. Just look at all of Dino's men. Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. So it's first come first serve. Whoever makes it first will ride the helicopter home. Everyone else will have to swim back to Japan and catch a plane home."

The complaints went up but this is where the more sly people (aka Mammon, Skull, Colonnello, Lal Mirch, Verde, etc. etc.) started flat out sprinting across the island. Fon was in no rush. Out of everyone gathered here, Fon is probably the fastest. Even with a good head start, I don't think anyone here can compete with him.

"This is bad! Really bad!" Sawada screeched, "We have to get to those helicopters before they do!"

That's not a realistic goal. Unless we wrestle them down and tie them up here, there's no way for us to make it to the goal before them. And with all of Dino's herbivorous subordinates, we won't make it to the helicopters in twenty-four hours. I'm sure some of them could keep up. I don't doubt Romario but I'm talking about Kohane! God damn it!

"Kyoya." I turned to find that both my brother and Fon were gone. My eyebrow twitched, my insides burning with a competitive fire. Both Xiulan and Kohane were left behind, meaning they both have the same goal as me. Get there first to prove dominance over the others. I took off after them. With their head start, I didn't have the time to look back and worry about others.

"Senpai!" Yamamoto hurried to catch up to me, "The kid plays some harsh games, huh? Ahaha! Let's race!"

"Hibari?!" Sasagawa was sprinting after me screaming, "EXTREME JOGGING! LEARN TO BOX!"

"Damn jocks." I hissed but I didn't look back or slow down.

They had no trouble keeping up with me in the first place. As men, they should be ashamed if they have trouble keeping up with me. Ahem, not because I have short legs or anything. I came to a screeching halt towards the end of the amusement park and Yamamoto and Sasagawa came crashing into me. I have a wonderful idea. I lit up my ring and my albatross came roaring to life. Fueled by my Cloud Flames, my winged companion grew to indefinitely large proportions.

"Get on." I motioned for the two Guardians to hop on before I turned the bird around.

Needless to say that Sawada's group and the Cavallone Family were surprised to see me. Romario spotted me first, poking a very depressed looking Dino in the side and motioning wildly for him to look up.

I landed my bird in front of them, some of them blown back by the gusts from the Wandering Albatross' massive wingspan. I put my hand out for Dino, "Hop on. We don't need a damn helicopter to go home."

"Is your flame going to last that long?" The ever skeptical Gokudera sneered at me.

"Ah." I said monotonously, "I only invited the Cavallone Family. The rest of you can try to catch the helicopter. No need to thank me. You can go ahead and thank Gokudera's sarcastic question."

"W-W-Wait!" Sawada shouted, "Take us too!"

"Hmm…" I pretended to think about it, helping Dino up and motioning for the Cavallone Family to climb up, "Nah! I've got my hands full with these herbivores."

"Please! At least take Kyoko-chan and Haru!"

I thought about it again and turned to Xiulan, holding my hand out, "You're going to be family soon. Get up here."

"Please!" Sawada repeated as I helped up Fon's wife-to-be.

"Why don't you get Mukuro to make you a helicopter?" I pointed out and then I realized that Mukuro and Chrome were already gone. Those geniuses probably thought of this solution before me. "Can't you fly, Sawada? Fly home."

"I can't take them all!" Sawada spotted Yamamoto and Sasagawa sitting behind me and shrieked, "AH! You traitors!"

"Ahaha! Hi Tsuna!" Yamamoto waved down at his fellow Guardians, "Kira-senpai is nice."

"Ahhh…" I reached down and grabbed Yamamoto's girlfriend, "You're coming with us too."

"So kind, senpai!" Suzuki immediately cooed, "Thank you!"

"It getting awfully cramped here." One of Dino's men commented.

"Ah! Shhh!" Romario hushed him, "Kira-san's at her limit."

Ah. I got caught. I was unwilling to take all of them cause they won't fit. My flames won't hold. Romario knows me so well all of a sudden. Well, I suppose it's not sudden. Come to think of it, we actually have known each other for a long time now.

"Kira-san, please just take Kyoko-chan!" Sawada was begging so pitifully and I guess he took my hesitation as a sign to beg more. He got down on his hands and knees, making Gokudera scream in protest, "It's the request of a lifetime!"

"Stop." I ordered, turning over my shoulder, "Anyone got a camera?"

"Me." Kohane spoke up shyly, handing me her tiny little camera, "I brought it so I could take pictures of Kyoya-kun."

"Hm." I couldn't care any less about that. I snapped a picture of Sawada on his hands and knees, groveling and I saved it. I tossed the camera back to Kohane and ordered, "Send that to the Varia Headquarters. Print it out for me nice and big. It'll be your pay for the ride."

"Yes ma'am!"

"Sawada!" I counted off the Guardians in my head, my ring buzzing to inflate my bird, "You're shameful. Get on. You owe me one."

"How dare you speak to the Tenth like that! He doesn't owe you anything, Cannibal!" Gokudera screeched, "You should be honored to take him home!"

"Ah. Everyone except Gokudera can get on." I grumbled and I meant it. I made my box animal carry Gokudera in his claws instead, "Be grateful, Gokudera. I was really about to leave you there."

"Hey!" Someone shouted randomly from the back, Gokudera's insults drowned out in the sound of the wind and other such turbulence, "Something's coming this way!"

"A helicopter!" Someone else called.

"Hey! They've got a gun! A big gun!"

"Isn't that Colonnello?!"

"HEY THIS IS BAD! He's shooting!"

Aww shit. It's cause I broke Reborn's ideal, isn't it? That sadistic bastard wanted us to fucking run and climb a damn mountain and I'm just here flying away and shit.

"Kira-san! What do we do?! You have to dodge it!" Sawada shrieked.

"We're too big a target!" I snapped, "I need you to block it!"

"Leave it to me, Tenth!" Gokudera shouted from below. When his dynamite connected with the oncoming ammunition, I was glad I brought him along.

"Hey… Don't you guys think it's getting cramped here?" Another member of the Cavallone Family said carelessly.

I'm ashamed to say it but my back was soaked in sweat. My heart was beating fast for no apparent reason.

From the pursuing helicopter came the voice of Verde over a megaphone, "Hibari! That's dangerous! You're less likely to die if you let us shoot you down!"

"Hey." I whispered, my voice surprisingly quiet even to me, "Hypothetically speaking, if my flame gives out this bird shrinks, one by one everyone would fall off but from this height would anyone die?"

Dino's hand grasped mine and it was burning hot in comparison to my own skin, "You're freezing! What's happening?"

As if he could hear the worries of Cavallone Decimo, Verde screeched, "Dying Will Flames are ignited with your life force! The wavelength that runs through you is your life force! Eventually, you'll run out, Hibari! Give it up!"

"Oh shut up." I hissed, my flames flickering in the wind.

"Kira-senpai! They're shooting at us again!"

"Hey, kitty-cat! I suggest you keep on flying!" Reborn goaded me on, "Either way, I'm going to shoot you down!"

Between me and Gokudera, the world was at peace. The world being everyone up here except for me and Gokudera. I'm pretty sure some people in the back were eating something without me. Assholes. I can smell that chicken on a stick and don't you dare think you got away with eating those potato chips, Romario!

Suddenly, I was hungry and terribly grumpy. Something was tugging at my chest and I wondered exactly what it was for a long while and then I realized that I was feeling someone else's feelings. My box weapon was pulling my flames toward himself and I realized something extremely weird. Everyone else has named their box weapon but I have three partners - and although I've already acknowledged them as partners - none of them have names. Even the boss has named his box weapon.

"I need to give you a name." I murmured, patting my partner encouragingly as he continued to carry us across the ocean.

As if he understood me, the Wandering Albatross cooed loudly.

"Can I call you something impressive? Like…"

"Jet." Dino grinned at me like a child, "You know, since he's kind of like the size of a plane."

"Sounds a lot cooler than Scuderia." I snickered, my partner cooing in joy at the name he received from Dino, "Oh! You like it?"

"Boss! I hate to say it but they're gaining on us and Gokudera can't hold up!" Romario informed us.

I snapped right back, "Then stop eating and shoot back!"

The Cavallone Family immediately stood up and began to shoot back and I have to admit that I'm glad I decided to bring them along. I would have brought them anyways but you get the point. They're making themselves useful.

"Senpai! Cambio Forma!" Yamamoto grinned at me, "I always wanted to know what senpai's real weapon would be!"

Cambio Forma? I don't think that's possible for me. It's hard enough to maintain the size of my partner and if I was capable of changing him, wouldn't he end up fusing with my gauntlets? That would defeat the purpose of keeping him at this size. Everyone would fall into the ocean and die from this height.

Jet squawked out encouragingly as if he already knew what he would turn into. Scared the shit out of me, that damn bird, but I don't know the mechanics of Cambio Forma and I don't know how I should even begin the process.

Good old Yamamoto took it upon himself to explain things to me. Did you hear the sarcasm?

"It's easy! You just focus your flames and 'gyuu gyuu' them towards your partner and then you'll feel this 'shaaan' for a minute." He grinned as if he was making perfect sense but I kind of understood what he was getting at, "Ahhh… If you were a guy it would be easier to explain, but it's kind of like… Oh! It's like when Dino-san's 'yoo-whoo' goes 'boink' and then 'puu-puu' and-!"

Blushing, Dino slapped a hand over the Vongola Rain Guardian's mouth, "Don't explain it like that."

"Anyways, just let it pull and release!" Yamamoto concluded after nodding vigorously to convince Dino that he would explain it a different way, "Cambio Forma 'ddooon'!"

"Do it with your gut, Hibari!" Sasagawa roared at me, "It's EXTREMELY all about gut feeling! It's like winning a boxing match!"

"I think it's more like winning a baseball game!" Yamamoto protested, "You just have to imagine the ball going 'whooosh' and a homerun and 'booboom!'"

I think…. Any sense these kids were making before just slipped away.

Sawada laughed nervously, "I think it's more like imagining strength or support. It's kind of warm and it feels like someone's got your back."

"If the Tenth says so it must be so!" Gokudera screeched from down below, "I agree! It's warm! I think it's a burning fire, Tenth! Scientifically speaking, it's the pull and tug of your Dying Will Flames being fed at a specific ratio towards your box weapon. You partner accepts those flames and at an equal-"

I didn't understand a word Gokudera said so I blocked that part out of my memory.

"Just imagine something cool!" Lambo cheered from the back somewhere.

I wonder what the boss would say but my flame is draining fast and it might be impossible for me to activate a new form now.

"'True Vongola fighters can achieve Cambio Forma! Do it with your dying will!'" Sawada shouted at me suddenly and then backed away sheepishly, "Or so Reborn would say."

"Kira-san! They're gaining on us!" Romario was rushing me, "If you're going to retaliate, do it now!"

"Fuck it!" I took Sawada's words to heart. He's certainly not my boss and if my boss ordered it, I would still derail this boy anyday but for today, I accepted the encouragement of a Sky that wasn't mine. It kind of felt like I was a lost child trying to get home. On the way back, I have to cross through the sky that is Sawada Tsunayoshi or rather, I didn't belong in this sky but it welcomed me and accepted me anyways. I suppose I'm trying to say I'm a guest or a friend to the phenomena in this sky even though my family is the Varia.

Sawada Tsunayoshi… The seat of Don Vongola suits him. The color of the sky behind him is bright. Sky blue. It's your everyday sky that welcomes you on a daily basis.

"Jet, Cambio Forma." The words slipped out as if someone had drawn them out of me and I felt the tugging that the Guardians were talking about but there was one thing that was different. I felt the warmth at first. It was the flames from my partner returning to me. Once that connection was established. It felt cold. It wasn't like imagining support or someone to get your back. It was more like picturing a military weapon for me.

The weight of my gauntlets vanished from my hands and I stared in awe at the glittering armor that was now covering my partner's entire body. The transformation didn't stop there. Jet was completely fused into the armor within just a few seconds and I gawked with my mouth wide open and my eyes sparkling like a child's as my avian partner became a completely new thing. His wings no longer needed to flap, there were thrusters on the back of his completely metal wings now to keep us going. His tail had no more feathers. It had transformed into a metal rudder and stabilizer. He was no longer the chunky, wide bird he used to be. He was now…

"A fighter jet! Holy crap!" Gokudera shouted, his voice high with excitement, "There are rockets! Missiles!"

"I've seen this thing before…" Dino whispered to himself and I turned to him curiously, "Where have I seen this…?"

It's highly impossible for him to have seen this before I have. This is the first time I've ever achieved Cambio Forma so he couldn't have. Just one question though, how come mine is backwards? Usually, the box weapon fused into a new weapon or it becomes part of a previously existing weapon but my box weapon stole my gauntlets. How am I supposed to fight?

"Kira-san, slow this thing down!" Dino's subordinates complained at the new speed of my overly excited partner.

"It has eyes!" Yamamoto pointed out, gesturing to the head of my transformed bird… plane.. thing, "Cute! It suits you, senpai!"

"We were hit!" Gokudera announced and I turned to check but there was hardly a scratch, "Whoa!"

"Mecha! It's a mecha!" Lambo cheered, dancing about like the child he really is, "Shoot back!"

"I don't think a plane can shoot backwards." Sawada told his Lightning Guardian sheepishly, "We would have to get around behind them."

"I wonder if we can go inside…" Gokudera mused, still held up underneath in some sort of claw machine type of thing.

"How would I even shoot?" I wondered aloud, "This is pretty cool but there's no controls or anything…"

"Kira-san, I hate to burst your bubble but they're coating their bullets in Storm Flames!" Romario shrieked.

"Fon." I growled. Damn him. I'm going to fucking fire at him as soon as I learn how to control this thing. My anger fueled my flame and I jumped in surprise when the missile launchers began to turn around. "Holy shit! Is there anything this thing can't do?!"

I pushed my flames up again and then I realized that this useful thing comes with a big weakness. Sure it fires missiles, and sure it's big, and sure it can carry all of us around like it's nothing but each time I fired a missile, I felt the flames being sucked out in large amounts. Needless to say, I only fired twice. Once to take out the Storm Flame coated bullets and once to warn the helicopter that I was going to shoot them head on if they tried it again. Sure enough the artillery died down and we made it home in one piece but the Arcobalenos' helicopter landed right behind us. I plopped down on my ass and I refused to let anyone help me up. I was tired and I felt like a cripple. My heart was beating erratically and I rushed to get rid of this stamina draining weapon of mine.

Reborn herded us into a big group like we were cattle - surprisingly, he was considerate and gathered them up around me since I couldn't move - and some light was finally shed on this whole battle, "This whole fight was set up to help you all learn to fight utilizing the abilities of your allies. Some of you did well and others of you were a big disappointment. Mainly, this was a battle to test Tsuna's capabilities as a boss. As expected, Dame-Tsuna failed the test. It's obvious who the leader of your bunch was throughout the test. The most experienced of the lot of you and the one with the most critical eye was Hibari."

I was staring proudly at my brother for a long dumb minute, my brain was kind of aching for some reason or another and it was hard to think about much. I kind of wanted to just lie down completely but I had too much pride to flatten myself in front of all these people.

And then he added, "Hibari Kira."

Well that was unexpected. Then again, I think I would have thought anything was unexpected at that moment. My brain wasn't really working.

Dino sat down next to me with a proud smile, "You're as great as ever."

You know what would be great? It would be just great if he lent me his shoulder or something. My head hurts.

Dino blinked at me dumbly for a long moment and then he finally said, "I'd be happy to but why did you talk about me in some sort of strange third person way?"

Oh. I said that out loud. How embarrassing! My brain was suddenly working again but that didn't mean the aching stopped, in fact, it was hurting even more now.

"From the very start, I invited both Kira and Hibari Kyoya for support. Their unyielding strength was suppose to guarantee you some sort of leg up in a battle where you had little to no hope of victory. A true boss analyzes and makes good use of both wisdom that comes from experience and the power that comes from battle prowess. I provided Tsuna with plenty of experienced and seasoned mafiosos. Shamal, Dino, and Kira were provided as hints towards victory; hints of wisdom." Reborn's chameleon turned into a broad green hammer and he brought it down over Sawada's head, "But you're the only one who didn't seem to discover that! You were suppose to use them and lead your Guardians into battle but the one leading the whole time was Kira! Do you think I'm just going to let you off the hook?!"

"Oww!" Sawada whined, "Reborn!"

"I'm going to teach you some damn leadership skills!"

That was actually not all that true. Sawada was… should I say… always in the right place at the right time and he never gave me orders nor did he lead me around roughly, but he was the guiding light to this group of fighters in a different way. He knows all of our personalities well. Knowing I wouldn't be able to fight without knowing Kyoya was safe, he sent me off to find him with a blessing. He even waited right there knowing that I would come back because Kyoya's personality would never allow him to accept my help. This whole time, Sawada was using us. He was using what he knew about us to predict our actions.

"And you!" Reborn spun his hammer around towards Dino, "You were even worse! You are the boss of the Cavallone Family. If Tsuna can't lead, you should have stepped up to the plate. Useless students of mine!"

"Owww!" The two idiots screamed as Reborn hit them each in turn.

Approaching me, Reborn patted my head, "Good job, kitty-cat. You did a good job. Surprisingly, you passed your test."

"Excuse me?" I growled, "And what exactly were you testing?"

"Your eyes." The hitman snorted and when I stood there all confused like an idiot, he pointed to his temple, "I can read minds. I heard every single word of admiration during the whole battle. Something about my stupid student's back being sexy? I thought you were going to start fucking each other right there. Oh, by the way, Dino caught a nice glimpse of your ass during the fight and ended up distracted. It was the reason you guys lost. Just thought I might share."

"Reborn!" Dino shrieked, "Don't tell her!"

And at the same time, my face turned two shades of red and I snapped, "Be quiet! I didn't say that!"

"Sure. But you were thinking it." I don't know which one of us he was saying it to but we were both blushing messes and we avoided eye contact with each other for a long while. Reborn simply moved onto praising Sawada's Guardians, "Nice shooting, Gokudera. You and Kira are a surprisingly good pair."

Gokudera was basking in praise when Reborn turned away from him but he mumbled, "Although I hate the Cannibal, thank you, Reborn-san!"

"Good work, Yamamoto. Taking down Lal Mirch is no small feat." Reborn said generously.

"Aww… It was all because Kira-senpai was there." The baseball freak said ever so modestly when everyone here fucking knows that Yamamoto was the whole reason we were able to bring down Lal.

"Congratulations on Cambio Forma, Cannibal." Reborn smiled at me as if he had taught me how to make that transformation, "I didn't expect you to learn it this time around."

This time around?! He had another test lined up for us?! FUCK HIM!

"Now if Pipsqueak Dino would just grow some balls..." The hitman sighed, "My job is never done, is it? Go home, idiots!"

This is where I would usually say, 'Fuck you. I don't need your permission to go home, Reborn.' but I was awfully comfortable sitting down.

Translation: My legs aren't going to hold me up so I'm going to sit here until I think I can walk myself home.

Dino, surrounded by his subordinates, was ready to go home but he caught a glimpse of me just sitting there and he paused, "Is there something wrong?"

"Nothing for you to worry about." I grumbled. Maybe I'll ask one of the Guardians to give me a ride home.

"Can I take you home?" Dino smiled at me almost shyly, "Actually, you don't even have to go home. You could… come to my place and we could… I don't know, have dinner together and watch a movie and maybe you could… spend the night."

I yawned, sleepy and slightly hungry, "Ahh… Sure."

"Absolutely not." Fon cut in.

I'm pretty sure I heard Dino squeak like a little kid and it was cute but I might have imagined it. I watched blankly, Dino's profusely apologizing voice fading away as I yawned again. All the tension from our battle and escape gone, I was exhausted.

Romario squatted down next to me as Fon began to lecture Dino about how inappropriate it was to ask me to stay over at his place, "Kira-san, would you like to sleep in the car? It looks like Fon-san is going to give our boss the scolding of a lifetime."

"Can I?" I grumbled.

"It's the least we could do for you."

"Ah… Then can I ask for one more favor?" I kept my voice low so as not to catch Dino's attention.

"And that would be?"

"... Could you carry me to the car?"

Romario chuckled quietly, "It would be my honor."

As embarrassing as it was to ask and be carried, I honestly enjoyed being carried. It made me feel like a kid again. These Cavallone men are dangerous. They make me do strange things. I would never ask one of my jerks to carry me to the car… Actually, I might ask Squalo-senpai or Lussuria but everyone else is a no-no. Anyways, Romario is kind of like… old enough to be my uncle or something so I didn't feel so bad asking him.

I fell asleep the minute I was stretched out in the back of one of their limos.

Oh Romario. You're just so kind. XD
