High upon a rooftop in Jump City, a lone boy by the age of fifteen watched a local movie theater entered with a certain sadness surrounding him. Oh how he wished he was one of those guys down there, except instead of having a girl to kiss, love and adore he could have Re-
"Sup, birdie!" Red X yelled as he landed on the rooftop right next to Robin, smiling under his skull mask as Robin peeped in surprise, then regained his calmness... to a degree.
"Shut up, thief!" Robin ordered before going back to spying on happy couples."I'm on official League business!" It was a straight lie, well, Robin sure as Hell wasn't straight, but it was a lie none the less.
Red X snickered at the bird, seeing through the lie, then gazed peacefully upon on the many people below with a smile on his face. "Ever wish were one of those couples down... except with a hot guy instead of some chick?"
"Only if its you." Robin thought as he at first didn't respond, then placed his binoculars away as he turned to Red X, giving him a long and sad look. "Yes." He admitted. "Every day I wonder when I'm going to finally just tell the boy I love that I love them... but its harder then that.
Red nodded, knowing full well that Robin was referring to him. "Yeah... I love someone too..." He leaned forward, inches from kissing Robin's lips. "I just want them to be mine... mine and mine alone."
Robin turned away before they could kiss, a deep blush covering his face. "We can't." He said sadly, he wanted so badly to kiss the thief, yet... people would see. "We're just not... able to."
"Why not?" Red X asked angrily. "I mean, who cares who we are or what we do with our lives, it our lives, we should choose who to love and who to hate!" He explained.
"Reason one, I'm a hero, you're a thief, we're on completely opposite sides and someone would get hurt if we tried to make it work. Reason two, you're a slaphappy thief with serious personal space problems and I'm an orphaned, OCD circus freak show. Reason three, i have issues, alot of issues, I'd hurt anyone who tries to love me. And finally, if anyone like Slade or the Joker found out I liked you, they would murder you. Slowly." Robin explained, holding up his fingers for each reason.
Red shrugged, smashing his foot into a stone gargoyle and smirked under his mask at Robin, making butterflies flock in Robin's stomach. "I think I handle any or your crap or anyone else's for that matter." He responded cockily.
Suddenly, a woman dressed in a long green dress and with long orange hair poofed up in a cloud of purple smoke, smiling evilly at the two teenagers. "My my... I couldn't but overhear your little problem. Well, I have some dirt with Wonder Woman and Batman... who are both awfully close to this little robin... what better way to get payback then make there favorite birdie miserable?" And with that, she shot a string dust at Red X.
"Red!" Robin screamed, but was knocked back as the woman, Circe, disappeared after slamming the boy into a stone pillar, dazing the teen.
"Hope you like foxes, birdie!" Circe said happily before disappearing in a flash of purple smoke.
As Robin's vision blurred, he could see a small shape move inside of the pile of clothes that remained of Red X's costume. And very slowly, Robin's world went pitch black.

When Robin finally awoke up, it was hours later and the night was still young. Looking around, Robin froze as his eyes met an amazing sight. A fiery colored fox with a red collar reading 'Alexander' sat before him, yapping happily once before nuzzling Robin's chest softly. The boy was completely stunned, but really, he was just glad that Red wasn't a pig. He had heard the full story of how Wonder Woman had once been turned into a pig and was saved by Batman (Wonder Woman had secretly told Robin about his fathers 'Saving Singing' performance. Standing now, Robin easily scooped up the fox and attached a dog leash from his belt onto the collar before pushing Red into his shirt to shield him before swinging away on a grappling hook, fear entering his stomach (That or it was Red scratching his bare chest under neath the shirt) but Robin kept his head as he rushed to the tower, if anyone could help him now, it was Raven.
"I hope she can help you, Red." Robin whispered as he hurried, not wanting his crush to be an additively adorable fox forever. "Don't worry buddy, we'll get you back to your hot self soon... you better not freaking remember me saying that or I swear to all gods, I will NEVER date."
"Yap!"
"Oh hush you." Robin muttered as he continued towards the tower. "Just because your a fox doesn't mean that you're suddenly some innocent little sweetheart."

The Boy Wonder, now dressed in slightly more casual clothing, sat with one leg over on the couch as he awaited answers from Raven. He was dressed in a large, red hoodie (Red X's hoodie) and blue jeans, yet his mask stayed on to represent who he was. The boy was tense, he just wanted this odd occurrence to end soon, but as the minutes ticked by, only more worry entered his chest. What if Red X would be a fox forever? I mean, Red didn't seem to upset about that, but Robin was! He wanted- no- needed Red X to be okay again. i needed to be able to hold the thief's hand, hug him, feel him breathe beside him and just be able to kiss Red. Even if they had only kissed once on accident a year ago, Robin still wanted that feeling again. Suddenly, the door swung open to reveal Raven holding the fox in her arms, stroking Red's fiery fur as she smiled kindly at Robin.
"Is he gonna be okay?" Robin asked desperately, only Raven and himself were home that night thanks to everyone else being out on the town. "Will be die or-"
"Calm down, Robin. He's fine, in fact, it can be reversed." Raven assured the hero.
Robin sighed with relief, but stopped as he suddenly realized something. "... then why haven't you reversed it yet?" He asked shyly.
Raven sighed, handing Red to Robin before sitting on the couch with a soft thump, rubbing her temple. "I tried every spell I know and more, I even tried a bit of forbidden magic! But sadly, nothing in my room or spell books works on this curse. There is only one cure."
"Whatever it takes, I'll do it!" Robin promised, Raven already knew he was madly in love with Red X, making him unafraid of showing his true feelings on the matter with the magic user.
Raven nodded, staring Robin in his masked eyes. "Only to caster can reverse the spell, Circe was smart about this spell. If you want to free Red... you'll have to cut a deal with Circe. She won't hurt you I don't think, she likes talent and embarrassing heroes... so..."
"I get it, she'll make me do something to lose my dignity." Robin deadpanned, placing Red in a small messenger bag as he threw it over his shoulder, ready to leave. "Well, I should hurry then, who knows where Circe could be."
"Wait!" Raven yelled, taking an amulet out of her cloak and wrapping it around Robin's neck, making the younger hero raise an eyebrow. "This is a protection necklace, it will protect you from any curses or attempts to steal your identity. Not even Wonder Woman's lasso could undo this barrier." She promised, smiling at Robin. "Good luck, Boy Wonder."
"I'll do my best." Robin said, turning away and giving Raven a thumbs up before entering the elevator and typing in the code for the bottom floor.
"Yip yip!" Red yipped as he poked his head out of Robin's bag, his emerald eyes shining with jealousy.
Robin rolled his masked eyes. "She wasn't hitting on me, Red. She gave me the necklace to protect me, not woo me."
Red still smiled at Robin, as if saying 'You like me better, don't you, kid?'.
"Oh stop with the face... we'll fix you soon... jerk." Robin said, but he still held red just a bit closer, as if he was afraid that if he let go then Red X would leave him.

It had taken hours to finally find Circe, but when they found her, Circe was draped over a huge, red, velvet couch as she smiled at the ceiling. Robin had found her here in her own make-up room for an entertainment hall... AKA, a stand up singer cafe. Robin feared what Circe might make him do, but knew that at the very least that he might be able to save Red X, which was all Robin wanted really, to save Red X. Staring into the beautiful woman's emerald colored eyes, Robin saw so much... curiosity? It was hard to tell, really.
"My my, look what the fox dragged in." Circe cooed, grabbing Robin's chin as she stood and stared down at him, she was about a foot or two taller then him, causing Robin to look up to see her face. "Well, I'm guessing that you want your precious fox to be turned back into a thief once more, correct baby bat?"
"I'm not a baby bat!" Robin yelled angrily, smacking her hand away from his chin as he glared at her through his mask. "What do I have to do to get him back?"
Circe smiled, cupping Robin's cheek before stepping away, looking into his soul almost before smiling at the small hero sweetly. "I see... you have a beautiful voice, don't you?"
Robin gulped nervously, knowing exactly where this was going.
"Ah, yes, you must lose something precious to you just as Red X is precious to you, something you can never regain once its gone. People may let it slide in due time, but you, you will never forget or erase this memory from your mind, Robin." Circe said, leading Robin to the stage. "Now then... lets begin, shall we?"

Robin, now on stage, was extremely nervous as he stared down at hundreds of criminals, heroes (They had heard and came at light speed to see this), the whole team of Teen Titans and even Red X, who sat in a chair close to the stage. Swallowing, Robin waited for the music to start, feeling all eyes on him.
"I don't know how
To tell you I love you
To tell you I miss you
To tell you I care."
Robin was staring straight at Red X, everything in him tossing and turning as he saw a future with this man, even if no one else could see it, he could.
"I don't know how
To tell you it's right
When it feels so wrong
For you to be near."
He wanted to believe that Red X was right for him, but so many things stood in-between Robin and a happy ending with Red X. If only life weren't so harsh.
"And I don't know why
The sun's in the sky
The rain it falls down
Down on to the ground
I've been in trouble
I've been let down
So please tell me now
You're sticking around."
If worse came to worse, Robin knew thar Red X would leave him. He was a thief and Robin was a hero, life had more or less destined them to a horrible turn about. Even so, Robin wanted Red X to stay, even if it meant his whole life, he was willing to give it up for Red X.
"I don't know how
I don't know how
I don't know how
I don't know how
I don't know how
I don't know how
I don't know how
I don't know how
I've seen a million things
I've been around town
What I know now
Since you've been around
Though I'm so young
I feel so old
I've been though the summer
Stuck around for the cold
I don't know how
I don't know how
I don't know how
I don't know how
I don't know how
I don't know how
I don't know how
I don't know how
You see me everywhere
You walk around without a care
You see me everywhere
You walk around without a care
You see me everywhere
You walk around without a care
You see me everywhere
You walk around without a care
I don't know how
I don't know how
I don't know how
I don't know how
I don't know how
I don't know how
I don't know how
I don't know how."
Looking straight at Red X, Robin stared, his blue eyes piercing with love and affection behind his mask. After a few moments, the finally words slipped out, dancing through the air with truth and sadness.
"I don't know how"
As soon as the song ended, the room filled with loud applause and numerous cat calls, making the young hero blush, duck his head and get off of the stage quickly. Scooping Red X back into his arms, Robin walked right up to Circe, blushing even more as he saw her wiping her eyes with a tissue.
"How long until he's better?" Robin asked Circe, trying to fight off the need to hide in a hole from embarrassment.
Circe smiled, patting Robin's forehead softly. "In around an hour the spell will wear off from my counter spell. By the way, if you ever want a job as a stand up singer... give me a call." She handed the Boy Wonder a green card with the cafe's name and phone number.
Robin nodded, walking away. "Oh stop your giggling." He growled as he passed Cyborg and Beast Boy, who were giggling like mad.

The next night, things were now normal and well. Red X was back to his normal self, and was now pestering Robin non stop for answers about what had happened while he was a fox.
"So how did you get her to fix the curse?" Red X asked as he followed Robin around by rooftop.
Robin, not giving any signs of wanting to chase Red X off, shrugged. "She got bored and broke it is all." He barely hid a blush. "You just kinda turned back and stuff..."
Red X nodded, a wide grin under his mask. "Well... okay... see you later." Just as he was walking away, Robin heard Red X singing an all too familiar song loud and clear. "I don't know how... to tell you I love you... to tell you I care..."
Blushing deeply, then smiling sweetly, Robin walked away, all thoughts on a very certain thief that he dearly loved.
