'Well... This was unexpected.'
Sakura kept quiet, while her eyes were glued on the pregnancy test results. All the while, tears slowly streamed down her face.
Her mind was racing, her eyes shook as she kept thinking the same thought.
'I'm pregnant... I'm... pregnant. Naruto and I... we're going to have a baby...'
"I suppose congratulations are in order."
The pinkette jumped slightly, as she felt Kurama's presence enter her mind. "K-Kurama?"
"Yeah. I thought something changed about you, guess I was right."
Sakura looked down, and wiped the tears from her face. "Hai... I never thought that this would happen... At least this soon."
"Ho? You were hoping this would happen?"
Sakura's face flushed slightly, causing her to shake her head. "W-Well, maybe in the future! B-b-b-but not THIS soon!"
"Nearly two years? Hey, that's not bad. At least... I don't think it is."
The pinkette let out a laugh at this, before her smile faded away. "Kurama... please don't tell Naruto about this."
"Hmm? Why is that? Don't you think he has a right to know? After all, that kid is his too."
Sakura couldn't help but feel over joyed when Kurama restated what was already clear to her. She then stood up, and walked over to drop the pregnancy test in the garbage. "...Now isn't the best time."
"Huh? What do you-"
"Oi! Sakura-chan!"
The pinkette's pupils shrunk as she stuffed what ever was left in the garbage, hiding the evidence. She then washed her hands, and stepped out of the bathroom. The blonde looked over at her, with a slight smile as he lifted up a bag. "Brought you some food. You may not be feeling well, but I can't let you go hungry."
Sakura couldn't help but smile at the blonde, as she walked over and kissed him on the cheek. "Arigatou, baka."
Naruto huffed as he folded his arms, closing his eyes as he turned his head. "Am I seriously back to that nickname?"
The pinkette stuck her tongue out at him, then walked over to the bed. "Of course. You're my baka, after all."
Naruto opened an eye, and glanced over at his pink haired love. He let out a slight sigh, as he smiled. "Well, can't really argue with that, can I?"
Sakura nodded to this, as she opened the box of food. Her eyes opened fully, as she looked at the sushi in front of her. "This is..."
The blonde rubbed the back of his head as he sat down in a chair. "Tried the best I could to get your favorite dish. Unfortunately they don't really serve it exactly how it's served in Konoha." He let out a chuckle, his fox-like grin appearing on his features. "Hope I did it right."
Sakura looked up at him, smiling sweetly at him. "Arigatou."
'God dammit! He's so nice!'
"Still not gonna tell him?"
'U-Urusai! I have my reasons!'
Despite this, Sakura bit down on the food happily. Immediately after, she regretted that decision. "Ugghhh..."
'Fuck you pregnancy... Can't even enjoy my favorite sushi...'
Naruto took notice to this, as he got up, and placed his hand on her forehead. "No fever... Still, you must have caught something bad." He stood up fully, and folded his arms. "You don't normally react to sushi like that."
Sakura looked down, a bit flushed as she gave him the box of food. "S-Sorry..."
Naruto smiled slightly, while he picked up the box, and put it aside. "No need to be sorry." He kissed her lightly on the forehead, flashing her a grin. "You should probably get some sleep, though."
The pinkette nodded, as she laid down, pulling the covers over her.
Naruto walked to the bathroom, but before he stepped in, he looked back at her, and gave a caring smile. Once she smiled back, he walked into the bathroom.
Once he was in the bathroom, he splashed water on his face. He stared down at the sink, something just didn't sit right with him.
'Kurama...'
"Hai?"
'How did she get sick?...'
"Huh? What do you mean?"
The blonde picked his head up, as he stared into the mirror.
'Your chakra flows through her... How did she get sick? Your chakra should have kept whatever she has from spreading.'
"Sorry, kit... I must have missed it. I'll do my best to get it out of her system."
Naruto's eyes narrowed, as he stepped away from the sink.
'Right...'
He rubbed his eye, and walked out of the bathroom, finding Sakura fast asleep. A look of concern filled his features, as he walked over to the bed, and laid down. As he closed his eyes, one thought kept intruding his mind.
'Is Kurama hiding something?...'
Anko yawned, as she stumbled through the streets of Kirigakure. "Wooo~ I feel great!"
A sigh could be heard escaping from Kakashi's lips, while he made sure the stumbling Kunoichi didn't seriously hurt herself. "I think you have a drinking problem..."
A vein buldged on Anko's forehead, while she turned herself to face the masked man. "Nu! I don't!" Just as she said this, she covered her mouth, while feeling nausea beginning to overtake her. "U-Um... Maybe I should go get some anti nausea medication..."
Kakashi rubbed the bridge of his nose, while he looked around. "Okay... There's a pharmacy open over there... Stay here while I-"
"-Nah! I can get it! I'm not THAT drunk~" The purple haired woman waved off Kakashi, as she walked into the pharmacy. She walked up to the counter, and tapped the desk. "Oiii, I need a bottle of painkillers and a bottle of anti-nausea medicine..."
The pharmacist blinked, and groaned while adjusting her glasses. She had gotten used to drunks stumbling into her store. "Very well..." As she went to go grab the requested medication, she took another glance at the purple haired woman. She felt like she had seen her before.
She walked over, holding the two bottles. "Excuse me, do you happen to know a young woman with pink hair?"
Anko's face brightened slightly, as she hiccuped slightly. "Oh? You mean Sakuraa~? I luv that gurl!"
The pharmacist shrugged, as she looked at Anko. "I see. I thought you would. I saw you earlier today outside the store with her, and two other men." She sighed while rubbing her chin. "It's a shame how young kids start getting touchy-feely nowadays."
A silent stare, and the occasional blink could be seen from Anko, as she stared with an open mouth. "Ha?... Why do you say that?"
The glasses wearing woman raised an eyebrow, while she leaned over the counter. "She bought a pregnancy test from here. You didn't know?"
This almost completely knocked Anko out of her drunken state, as she stared at the woman. "Did she now?..." She put down the Ryou, and picked up the bottles. "Thank you."
As she walked toward the door, Anko stared down toward the floor, bewilderment showing on her face.
'Sakura... Is pregnant?'
The purple haired woman shook her head roughly, as she stared up at the ceiling.
'Nah, that can't be true... She's simply checking as a precaution! Yeah, that has to be it...'
She closed her eyes, as she opened the door.
'Well, I guess I'll be having a chat with her tomorrow...'
"Did you find what you needed?"
Anko's eyes opened, as she saw Kakashi standing and waiting. She then smiled playfully, and hugged him. "Yup! Let's go, Kakashi-kun~"
The mask wearing man shook his head, and began to walk. "I seriously need to start cutting back your alcohol intake."
Anko stood up fully in shock, and looked at Kakashi with a pout, as they kept walking. "Eh? B-But, Kakashi-kuuun~!"
Sakura's eyes opened, as she stared up at the ceiling. The sun peeked its way through the curtains, lighting up the room.
'It feels like I didn't sleep at all...'
She slowly picked herself up, letting her head hang down as she stared down at the floor. She slowly rubbed her eyes, trying to wake herself up.
'Come on... Get it together.'
Her eyes opened fully when she heard the bathroom door open. She looked up to find her blonde haired love stepping out of the bathroom, fully dressed. He smiled slightly, and walked over, giving her a light kiss on the forehead. "Rest, alright?"
The blonde turned to leave, but not before Sakura could ask him. "Where are you going?..."
He stopped, then looked at her, giving her a smile. "I can't just stay cooped up in here... So, I'm gonna go train." He closed his eyes, his smile widening into a grin. "So you focus on trying to get better, okay?"
Sakura's confusion only turned into concern, as his expression seemed... Off.
'His smile looks... Forced.'
Nevertheless, she gave him a slow nod. "Alright..." He waved to her, then walked out, shutting the door behind him.
Once he left, Sakura's tired look slowly faded, into one of distraught. She then fell back on the bed, biting her lip. "That smile... I haven't seen him force a smile like that for... A long time."
'Maybe he found out?'
She shook her head, as she sat up. "He couldn't have... I haven't shown any more obvious signs of being pregnant. He would've only picked up on it if he was a doctor."
'Hmm... Odd, then. If he's forcing a smile, then he's clearly upset. Question is... Why is he upset?'
The pinkette stared down at the floor, going through every possible reason as to what's got Naruto down. Before she could come to a conclusion, though...
*Knock* *Knock*
Sakura was knocked out of her thoughts, standing up as she looked at the door. "Huh?..." She walked over to the door, and opened it, finding a toothy grinned Anko on the other side.
"I know your secret!..."
Sakura's pupils shrunk, as she quite literally grabbed Anko by her jacket, and pulled her inside, slamming the door behind them.
She pressed her back up against the door, looking at Anko in shock. "H-H-How? How could you POSSIBLY know about me being pregnant!"
Anko laughed as she sat on the floor, rubbing the back of her now sore head. "You'd be surprised how much pharmacists like to gossip!"
Sakura hung her head, groaning in frustration. "Last time I go to a shady pharmacy...eh?" Sakura's eyes opened fully as she saw two arms go passed her, her face being pressed into Anko's chest as a warm hug enveloped her. "O-Oi, Anko!"
Anko smiled as she looked down at the pinkette, winking at the young girl. "Congratulations, Sakura."
Sakura looked up at Anko in surprise, before a smile appeared on her features. "Arigatou..."
The purple haired woman snickered, as she backed away from Sakura, pulling a bottle of saké out from her jacket. "Time to celebrate!"
Sakura backed up slightly, her hands raised defensively. "U-Um... Isn't it a little early to be drinking? Besides, I'm pregnant."
Anko laughed as she patted Sakura's back. "Nonsense! It's the perfect time to drink! Since Kakashi-kun is still asleep, and all... Besides, you only just got pregnant, so it's fine!"
Sakura pinched the bridge of her nose, shaking her head. "Somehow I doubt that..." She looked over at Anko with a slight smile. "You can drink, though."
The purple haired kunoichi pouted, despite that she opened the bottle. "Whatever, party pooper..."
Anko happily hummed to herself, as she sipped on her bottle of saké, while sitting on the bed.
Sakura kept her eyes glued to the ground, as she hugged her legs. What Kurama had told her just couldn't escape her mind.
'H...He does have a right to know!... I just...'
"Anko-sensei?..." This snapped the purple haired kunoichi out of her humming, as she lowered the bottle.
She turned, noticing grimacing expression on the pinkette's face. "Yeah? What is it, kid?" Despite asking it, she had a feeling it was bad.
Sakura's bottom lip quivered, as she looked down. "W...Was it wrong to not tell Naruto?..."
Anko's eyes widened slightly, as she put the bottle down on the table. "Eh? You didn't tell him?"
This made Sakura hang her head, a shadow hovered over her eyes. "No... I didn't..."
"HAAAA!"
A large explosion could be seen, as Naruto stood there, panting slowly as rain poured down around him. He panted slowly as he stood up fully. "Not enough... Let's go again."
He gripped his wrist, and began to pump chakra into his hand, until the rasengan formed in his palm. His eyes widened as he pumped even more, making it grow. "Come on!" The blonde then started to add a large amount of wind chakra.
He looked at a large boulder, and threw the technique. "Obliterate!" As the technique reached the boulder, he closed his hand, causing the jutsu to expand, and explode.
As the smoke cleared, he went down on a knee, panting as he looked up at the destroyed remains of the boulder. He shook away his light-headed feeling, as he stood up. "N-Not done yet..."
"Try telling that to your hand..."
Naruto looked down at his hand, and sighed at the burnt and cut up sight. He pulled bandages out of his pack, and sat down. He scowled as he wrapped up his injured hand.
'What is it, Kurama?'
"You tell me."
The blonde looked up, as he stared at the raining clouds above him. "Tch... The hell's that supposed to mean?" He stood up, avoiding to put pressure on his bad hand.
"You know what it means. Mind telling me why you're working yourself to the bone day and night?"
Naruto shook his head, as he stuffed his hands in his pockets. "So I snuck out last night to do some training..."
"More like you've done this every night. God... I thought we were over all of this angst stuff!"
Silence was all that could be heard, as Naruto stared at the ground. His fists trembled, as that last sentence echoed in his mind. "...Dreams..."
"Huh?... Dreams? What does dreams have to do with this?"
Naruto gritted his teeth, as he looked down, gripping his bad hand slightly. "You wouldn't understand..."
"Sakura... I don't understand. Why didn't you tell Naruto-kun about this?"
The pinkette looked to the side, grimacing, and staying silent.
Anko's buzz left at this point as she got up, and stood in front of the pinkette. "Sakura! That child is Naruto-kun's too!" She folded his arms, giving Sakura a hard stare. "Don't you think he has a right to know?"
Sakura's hand gripped her leg as it trembled. She more or less said the same thing Kurama said. She nodded slowly, as a shadow continued to hang over her eyes. "He does... But... It's not like I don't have a reason to be keeping this from him..."
Cliff hanger FTW!
Yeah... This was taking me much longer than it probably should've, so I ended it early.
Laters.
