Chapter 55
...
Maximum sighed as he was looked over by Ratchet and his mother, the two mechs fussing over his slightly bulging abdomen like he would burst at any given moment. After returning to the base with the Predacon in tow and having to listen to Ultracia explain to their father that Predaking wouldn't hurt anyone now unless provoked, he was a little irritable.
"Primus Maxi, were you trying to get yourself killed?" Megatron snarled and grumbled, as he scanned over his son's abdomen to see if the sparklings were all right.
After this ordeal, he needed to make sure the little ones were all right and that the stress didn't stunt their growth in anyway or caused any damages to the spark energy. He felt relief when he saw the two sparklings, beating softly within their mother's spark chamber, not quite yet ready to detach and go to the gestation chamber to complete the rest of their development.
The silver mech couldn't help but smile. To think, his son was going to have children…and twins no less! And the idea of being a grandparent sent his spark all a flutter although he wouldn't admit.
His mate had taken Ultracia and the Predacon to his office to talk with the two of them privately and out of hearing range to discuss what was going to happen now.
Silversun was sitting on one of the med. berths as Strika was checking him over. He had his yellow optics settle on Maxi, worried and feeling very much like an aft right now. Now that he was calm and his processor was a little clearer he want to beat himself up. He would if there was a way to aim his fist directly at his face.
Magnus watched Megatron, his body tensed as his sire programming was on high alert. After what had happened with the dragon, he was just weary for Maximum and the sparklings safety. To say he was on edge was an understatement with the Predacon in the base.
Maximum turned his helm to look at Magnus, before he heard his mother hum.
"What?" the young mech asked.
Megatron raided an optic ridge, "Maximum, when was the last time you recharged?"
The young mech's optics widened, as he raised a digit as if he had the answer, before his mouth close, "Uuh…well…..Hmmmm, I was having a decent recharge before a certain INSECT woke me up!"
The retort was far off, but still clear to the audios, "IT WAS AN EMERGENCY CONCERNING THE DESIRES OF THE SPARK! I HAVE NO REGRETS!"
Maximum grumbled, before he cringed slightly under the disapproving expression on his mother's face plates. Megatron reached up and rubbed at his indigo optics
"Maximum, why didn't you tell me or Ratchet you were losing recharge?"
Ratchet huffed, as he added, "It causes unnecessary problems and stress for yourself and the sparklings and after this stunt you and the others pulled—and that includes YOU Magnus—I think new bedding arrangements are in order…"
"Well I—wait what?!" The young mech squeaked the last word. New bedding arrangements? What the frag did that mean?!
"Maximum, if you are not getting enough sleep in your current housing, then you can have a different place for recharging. I could bunk you with one of the sires of your sparklings…"
"Whoa, whoa wait just a nano-click Ratchet. I can get how losing recharge can be a problem, but I don't think I need new quarters…." The young mech gave a nervous smile, when he received a narrowed opticked look.
"Maximum. Who's the head medic of this base?"
He answered without hesitation, "You are."
"You are….?"
"You are, sir," Maximum muttered the last part.
Ratchet nodded, "And when one of my patients is suffering from unnecessary stress from, say a sleeping disorder, or anxiety, possibly emotional problems, it is my job to find solutions to ease it out. And it does not matter to me whether or not you want to. I am telling you that as it appears that your current location for recharge is unfit for you in your….vulnerable state and I will not tolerate you getting sick and neither will I tolerate the sparklings health at risk. As you medic, I am ordering you to make new arrangements and I suggest it be one of the sires. Being close to one of them will be good for the children. Pick one and let me know so that I can inform Prowl to rearrange the rosters to show where you are going to be spending your nights. Oh and another thing….." he gave a mischievous look on his face plates, "The closer you are to the sire, the easier it will be for you to satisfy any….cravings…."
A blush of violet fell over Maximum's face plate as he caught the second part of that meaning. He looked at his mother, who simply shrugged.
Silversun perked up at the news and he silently hoped…prayed…that he would be the one Maximum picked. He could rearrange his quarters so Maximum was comfortable and he would happily let him have his berth and sleep on the floor if it made him comfortable. He would also make sure any needs were met to the best of his abilities…
"Magnus."
Everyone in the med. bay turned to look at him.
Ratchet nodded and went out of the med. bay to go inform head of security.
Megatron gave him a funny look, "Why Magnus?"
Maximum looked up at his mother, "Because he seems like a more logical choice. I….I just have this feeling…" and I don't want Silversun near me for a while…
It hurt to think that, but it was true. After tonight, Maximum's emotions were a mess, his programming was acting up and he just….he needed to be away from the silver flier for a while and he wanted his children to be healthy.
Ultra Magnus was stunned. He honestly didn't think Maximum would want anything to do with him considering how they started out on bad terms to say the least. He noticed how Silversun slumped his wings and looked the other way with his back turned to the other mech. He looked at Maximum and immediately he felt a bit….at ease knowing that the carrier of his child would be closer to him and he could protect him better.
He stood up and walked over to the younger mech and looked at him, "I….I hope you are sure of this," he needed to see if he was absolutely okay with sharing quarters with a mech he didn't know very well. The small smile on the carrier's face caused his spark to stop.
Maximum nodded, "Yes I'm sure. I know my children are happy right now…" he grinned as pulses of excitement and love flooded over his spark when they felt one of their sires so close to them.
Magnus smiled as well, sensing the sparklings joy as well, before he sighed, "I will see about getting another berth. Until then…unless you don't mind sharing one with me until yours arrives…."
Megatron's wings raised as he gave Magnus a look, "Magnus. You and I will inform Optimus first as soon as he's done speaking with Ultracia and….our new addition."
Silversun's wing perked, feeling the anger bubbling in his tanks and threatening to move through his fuel lines. Why were they allowing a monster into their home? After what he's done to them? To Ultracia and her family? To him?
You don't have to live with it. Have the constant reminder of your failures…
Silversun remained silent. If he started talking to himself in front of everyone….well…They'd just think he was going bonkers. This voice…it was probably just a side effect from stress. Yeah, that was probably it….stress….
Let's see how long you'll keep believing that, Silversun…
…
Ultracia sat in a chair with one leg crossed over the other before her father as his desk, while the Predacon was curled up in his beast mode at her pedes.
Optimus looked at his daughter, feeling a mix of joy and astonishment at her predicament, while his unease came from the mech curled up around her chair like and oversized cat.
"So….you are saying that the Predacon is not going to harm us."
"Yes," the femme answered, without any form of hesitancy or anxiety.
"And that he wishes now to stay here amongst us because you are here."
"Yes."
"…Ultracia, please forgive me for my suspicions, and do not doubt that I do trust your judgment, but how are you sure he is sincere in his intentions?"
A smile formed on his daughter's face, "You suspicions are valid and I understand why, Daddy. But during my state in the chrysalis…I've been having visions…like memories in the form of a dream of another life. In them, I was wise, and understanding….I could feel what was happening at the time when I saw mechs and femmes I am not familiar with in this life…..And…and he was there…the Predacon…." She looked at the dragon and she smiled wider, "I feel something I have never felt before….I care about him, what will happen to him and….I just want him close to me….."
Optimus listened with open audios, trying to find and signs of falsehood just to be sure. He felt himself smile internally when he found none, pleased that he could depend on his daughter remaining honest. Her new form was a bit unnerving and was going to take some time to get used to, but he was pleased to see her personality was intact and at hearing her words the matrix was humming pleasantly within his chest and he could feel the sparks of the Original Primes pulsing happily….What did it mean though?
"….He may stay Ultracia. But I am trusting you to make sure he stays in line. I will not tolerate any more fighting in this base after all that's happened," He spoke firmly, "Am I understood?"
Ultracia smiled and nodded, "I understand father."
"Good. You and uh…Uh….what is his name dear?" he asked. He couldn't go around calling him the Predacon, now could he?"
"His name is Predaking."
The dragon-former lifted his helm at the summons, "Yes my Mistress?"
Prime raised an optic ridge at that, while Ultracia simply sighed and caressed his helm.
"Please. Call me by my name Predaking. It's Ultracia…" she giggled when Predaking purred and rested his helm on her lap.
"Ultracia…..I will call you be that then, my Mistress…." He purred in his alt. mode as she pet his horns, content to let her just pet him all day.
Now to tell everyone else about their new member.

Hey guys, only chapter for today, but I will have another for tomorrow.
A friend of mine who is dear to me was diagnosed with Leukemia recently, so my life's been a bit of a wreck...I'm sorry for taking so long, but I'm scared she'll be hitting the active stage.
I would like at least two reviews before the next chapter.
