"Kikyo-sama," Makoto said, his eyes gazing upwards to the mystical blue sky. There were demons hovering above, their green scales would change to a more transparent color when they flew to the side. The Inu-pup wondered where he was exactly. He wasn't really dead nor was he alive, at least he thought he was either one or the other. But the miko had made it clear that he wasn't deceased.
"Where are we exactly?" He asked, his gaze fell to the ambling miko who glanced over her shoulder. She stopped momentarily to stare upwards,"We are in a place where things aren't what they seem. Here, things can be good or evil, balanced, are in equity."
Makoto reached to touch one of the demons that flew near and once his finger had lightly tapped the small scaly winged demon, it transformed into a greenish-blue butterfly. He retracted his hand back and his mouth opened in surprise. Things aren't what they seem, could this be what she meant?
"Little one, now you must start your training, the longer you wait, the more dangerous it'll be." Kikyo told him.
"Training?" Makoto questioned, but when he asked her, a shock ran up and down his body. Kikyo settled down on the grass that swayed back and forth because of the wind. "Yes, training," She repeated.
Blue eyes closed as the agony increased, Makoto whimpered. His hand clenched tightly to his kariginu where his heart should be.
"Little one," Kikyo said softly, her gray eyes flashed with worry and placed her hand on his shoulder,"You need to breath. Don't let your fear control you, you control your reiki and your yōki. You have the control of your powers, not the other way around."
Makoto nodded gradually at her words. Closed eyelids squinted at another jolt of pain but he felt it lessen when he began to breathe in and out deeply. Kikyo stared at the young Inu-pup and her eyes narrowed in concentration. There is more reiki than yōki still, it would take little time to balance out, but for how long would his yōki….
Kikyo closed her eyes, sensing the aura in him rise and fall with every small breath the child let out. Her thoughts wavered away and she focused on his reiki. She nodded at the fraction of his spiritual power which lowered, nearly reaching the equal amount of his demonic power. "Your emotions are clouding your better judgement as well."
My emotions, Makoto thought perplexedly. His blue eyes fixed on his hands that glowed a subtle faded green color. The memory of his mother possible hurt when they were facing Daiki, his sister's anxiety and uneasiness during the fights.
Her eyelids fluttered open to stare at him,"The feeling of anger, frustration, fear, is like a barrier. It is stopping you from tapping into the balance in your power."
Makoto breathed in through his nostrils, his face relaxed as his mind cleared, his powers washing over like a summer breeze.
A scream drew him from his thoughts, drifting his attention to his right, it was his mother and sister, they were on the ground facing a demon that growled furiously at them. "Haha-ue, Kisara…" He whispered hoarsely.
A tug pulled him from approaching them,"They are a fragment of your imagination, heed my words, remember what I said earlier. This is only an illusion."
Makoto stopped when he was feet away to notice a figure standing, hair blowing to the side and a kind smile from a person he knew and cared showed. Kikyo placed her hand on his shoulder. "You're falling to your fears, the fear of losing those dear to you."
"Your emotions may block your powers, but also reverse it, who is it that you see?" Kikyo wondered, seeing nothing in front of them.

"No!" Kagome shouted when her husband had forced her to stay outside. Kisara flinched at the torment she heard in her mother's usual calming voice. The hut grew quiet and only the harsh breaths of panic of that of her parents were only heard. Kisara bit the bottom of her lip, feeling her eyes water when her mind strayed to her unconscious brother, she wrapped her arms around herself.
Kagome wiped her tears away with the pad of her thumb,"Inuyasha, please tell me what is happening." She held onto her husband's kariginu, gripping it tightly in her fisted hands, her tears streaked down her flushed cheeks.
Inuyasha lifted his hand, tugging her closer to his form, placing his hand behind her head. "Nishiyo…oba-sama," He grimaced, not really used to the fact that he had an aunt, but was pained by the news he was informed from her. The only reason that they had kept them from him was to protect him. Frankly, he felt kind of bizarre to have a family member other than Sesshoumaru.
Inuyasha held her closer,"Kagome, his temperature is rising, his heartbeat is increasing." He felt his wife tremble in his embrace. Kisara looked up at her parents as she fell slowly to the ground, drops of tears fell onto her pink kimono.
Onii-chan, isn't there anything I can do to help? Kisara's shoulders slumped forwards and her arms fell to her sides weakly. "Kisara…" An austere voice had said, calling out to the young Inu pup.
Kisara's head shot up in alarm at the familiar voice. Her blue eyes trailed from the ground, her head craned to the side, and her eyes widened,"Sesshoumaru-ojisama."
The daiyōkai gazed at her parents before he walked over to discuss the conflict. Kisara's bottom lip quivered once more and she gazed at the ground. She didn't pay any attention to the exchange of words of her uncle or father, her mother's pleas to let her oji-sama use the tensaiga if her brother were to pass.
"Kisara-chan!" The said girl looked to her left to see Naoko running ahead of Sango and Miroku's children. "Naoko-chan," Kisara whispered as the half demon girl stood before her, breathing heavily when she reached her.
"Shippo-kun told me that you and Makoto-kun arrived, I came as fast as I can, are you okay? Where is-" Naoko staggered back when Kisara began to cry abruptly.
The girl's gray eyes widened, patting her friend on the shoulder and letting her explain to the ningen children what was occurring. Sakura and Haruka tried to calm down Kisara, the young Inu pup was in hysterics from the lack of information that she was receiving.
Naoko walked falteringly to the shoji door, the adults were speaking to her mother, the monk and demon slayer. Her ears picked up hushed voices inside, one that she knew that was the lord of the Western lands.
The shoji door was open only a few inches and she was about to speak up when she noticed the dog lord unsheathe his sword.
Nishiyo narrowed her eyes when her golden eyes flicked to notice the confused look on her eldest nephew's face. His countenance; clearly showing the knitting of his brows, his mouth forming a frown, his eyes staring sightlessly at his tensaiga he held tightly in his grasp.
"Is there a problem, Sesshoumaru?" She asked, her voice dropping at his name, slightly worried at the expression he had. Her nephew opened his mouth to speak and stared at her in the eyes, his brows thinned.
Her eyes wide, iris free as they contracted. He must not see the pall-bearers who take the souls of the dead.
Her eyes snapped toward a small gasp that came from the shoji door, Nishiyo noticed a brown-haired girl staring at the immobile figure on the futon. "You shoul-" Nishiyo began to say softly, she didn't want the girl-possibly close friend of the young pup, to be worried if.
Nishiyo turned to see that the boy's breathed stopped and the girl had heard. "Makoto-kun!" Naoko rushed to his side, she discarded the looks of the dog demons and held her friend's hand.

"Kikyo-sama, I feel…dizzy, is that okay?" Makoto asked curiously. The Inu-pup gazed at the miko who's eyes narrowed. Kikyo gaped when the light faded from the boy's eyes as he fell backwards.
She reached to him and pressed her hand to his forehead, a blue eerie light on the tips of her fingers. A relieved sigh escaped her lips and she calmed down.
"His powers are in balance, but in his physical form, he would have passed for only a few minutes." She smiled when the boy opened his eyes a little,"Farewell, Makoto." His help from above was no longer needed and she wished him a happy long life, just like she once did with his father.
Makoto felt darkness claim him once again. He heard a voice calling out to him, and it was his safe haven that was calling to him. A tingling sensation fell on the palm of his hand.
"Makoto-kun," Naoko whispered when his eyes opened to turn his head to the side. "Naoko…" Makoto muttered, his eyes widened upon noticing the tears in her eyes.
She smiled, a faint flush spread across her cheeks,"I'm glad you are okay."
