I am sorry I have not updated for some time. Sometimes life generally gets in the way.

A quick update. Charlie was shot and has now recovered. She is now living happily with Brax and Heath and Bianca are planning a wedding. Kyle will be turning up and will cause ripples. Please don't shout but one couple will split.

It had been six weeks since they had all returned from Melbourne. Nothing had been heard from Kyle. Brax had tried to ring him but all that happened was the phone went to voice mail. Talking to Charlie one evening he decided that Kyle obviously didn't want to know them and they would leave it at that. Having talked to Heath and Bianca they decided not to continue trying to contact Kyle.

Charlie and Brax were sat in the restaurant a week before the party. They were going through the order for both food and drink when they heard footsteps coming up the stairs. "We are closed," Brax shouted.

Both Brax and Charlie looked up as there was a loud thump of a bag landing on the floor. "I thought you said I could turn up any time." Brax stood up as Kyle walked into the restaurant. As Kyle stood in the doorway he looked around the restaurant. Kyle looked impressed. Brax indicated a chair at the table he and Charlie were sat at. Kyle sat down near where they were sat.

"Do you want a drink?" Brax asked Kyle. "I can't offer you anything to eat because the cook isn't here yet."

Kyle asked for a beer which Brax got for him. Putting it down in front of Kyle he went and sat and sat back down next to Charlie. "What are you doing?" Kyle asked.

"Ordering the food and drink for Heaths engagement party. We have a family party next weekend. You will be able to meet the rest of the family."

"How many more of your family do I have to meet?"

"Bianca and Ruby." Brax glanced at Charlie. "Then you will meet Cheryl my mum. She is feisty to say the least." Brax grinned. "You might have to hide behind Charlie. Cheryl thought Charlie led me astray because I went on the straight and narrow." Brax grinned at Kyle. "She won't like you because of what Danny did to her. He wasn't very good to Mum or us. He used to beat us for not doing what he wanted." Brax watched Kyle as he said this. He got the impression that Danny might have done the same to Kyle.

Kyle sat down at the table as he drunk the beer Brax had brought for him. He watched as Brax and Charlie sorted out the food and drinks for the party and planned the party. "What are you doing for music at the party?" Kyle asked.

"I don't know Kyle. We either have background music on or my manager does a turn but as he is Bianca's ex I wasn't going to ask him. Why do you ask?"

"I sing a little. I was in a band last year in Melbourne but we broke up when some of them went to college. I could see if any of them would want to play….. if you want me to." Kyle sounded hesitant as he finished speaking. He felt unsure as if he had done the wrong thing.

Brax glanced at Charlie before he spoke. "Thank you Kyle that is a good idea. I will ask Heath and Bianca as it is their party." Charlie and Brax tidied the paperwork up before Brax went over to the bar and ordered from the suppliers what they needed. The rest of the food was being supplied by the diner.

Brax walked back to the table and Charlie stood up. Kyle joined them and after picking his bags up followed them outside in to the sunshine to where Charlie's car was parked. Charlie drove them home. She parked her car in the street and they headed inside.

Heath was sat down nursing Rocco when they got inside. "Where is Casey?" Brax asked him.

"He has gone to the city to see Ruby at Uni." Heath replied.

"When will he be back?"

"Before Monday I think." Heath paused before he continued. "What do you think will happen when he finds Kyle here?"

Bianca joining them in the living room replied, "He won't be very happy." She turned and spoke to Kyle holding out her hand as she did so. "HI, I am Bianca heaths fiancé and Rocco's mum." Kyle put his bags down before shook her hand.

"Come on Kyle, I will show you your room. It was Heath and Bianca's but since Ruby has gone to uni we have had a move around. Heath and Bianca went into the annexe and Casey moved back in here. If Ruby stays in the city for the break then she will find work there." Charlie led Kyle and showed him where the room was and the bathroom.

It was late Sunday evening when Casey arrived back at the house. Brax Charlie and Heath were sat outside with Kyle. Bianca was inside preparing for school the next day after she had put Rocco down for the night. Beside the four of them were the remnants of the barbeque that they had earlier. What was left of the food Bianca had taken in with her. She had no doubt Heath would probably finish it off before he went to bed.

They were just standing up when Casey came in through the back gate. It was the shout of anger that alerted them all to the fact he had arrived back home. Before Brax or Heath could stop him he raced across the back yard and belted Kyle across the face. The impact took the two young men to floor. Casey was violently hitting Kyle and shouting at him at the same time. Brax and Heath stooped down and pulled the furious Casey off Kyle.

"You can't even defend yourself." Casey yelled at Kyle. Kyle just stood there not wanting to say anything to inflame the situation. Casey broke free from his brothers and went for Kyle again. Brax and Heath moved quickly to stop the fight. Kyle got up and just stood there. He didn't want to talk he just kept quiet. This time Heath and Brax dragged Casey back inside leaving Charlie to deal with Kyle.

Charlie guided him to the picnic table and sat down next to Kyle. "Why didn't you hit Casey back?" She asked Kyle gently.

Kyle didn't answer for a minute then he spoke. "If I had been in Casey's position I would have killed me. I don't blame him. When Danny came to see me I was desperate to please him to help him. Tamara said to me what I was doing was wrong that Danny was no good." Kyle paused. "She was so right. Since the desert she has not spoken to me. She told me that I had to make it right with Casey first. Do you think he will forgive me?"

"I don't know. He might forgive you. When I first met Heath he did nothing but give me verbal abuse because I was a cop but now we get on ok. It helps that Bianca is my best friend. Come on let's go inside and see what happens."

They both stood up and walked inside. Casey was sat on the settee with Brax leaning over the back of it. It looked like he had been talking to Casey. Kyle stood in front of Charlie not saying a word. Everyone waited to see what would happen. After several minutes it was Casey who stood up and walked towards Kyle. He stared at him for several minutes before he spoke.

"I don't have to like you. Just because you are my half-brother does not mean I will forgive you any day soon. I don't feel sorry for you." As he finished talking he turned and walked away and sat back down on the settee.

It was then Kyle spoke quietly. So quietly that no one heard him speak. "I'm sorry." He said.

Casey quickly sprung to his feet. "You're sorry." He yelled back. "You nearly killed me. Sorry doesn't even get close to what you should be saying."

Kyle stared at the young man in front of him. He spoke again. "I'm sorry. It was stupid what I did. I was trying to impress Danny but was has he done. He has gone and cleared off and deserted me. Tamara said I was so stupid to do what I did." Kyle paused. "She came to rescue you from my stupidity." Kyle paused before he continued to speak. "She is my girlfriend but since I did what I did she won't have anything to do with me."

"Serve you right," Casey spat back at Kyle. He turned and sat back staring at the blank television screen. Kyle sat down at the table and waited to see what happened next.

Heath chuckled before he spoke. "Happy families. Good luck tonight you two these two might try and kill each other." Brax shook his head at his brother's levity. Heath left them to join Bianca in the flat. Casey left after a while to do a shift at the restaurant leaving Kyle sat with Brax and Charlie.

It was approaching the before Heath and Bianca's engagement party. Kyle had been roped into helping set up Angelo's. Relations between him and Casey could be best described as frosty. Neither of them acknowledged each other if they could help it. Kyle helped laying up the tables and helped carry the food up to the restaurant that Leah had proved from the diner. When Kyle started to a sound check to make sure things were ok for that night Casey turned on his heel and walked out. It was Liam who stopped and listened to Kyle sing some songs. He then went over to Kyle to talk to him about his music. Once Liam had finished his chat with Kyle he said goodbye to Brax and left the family to continue setting up for the party. Brax had given him the night off so he did not have to see his ex-wife celebrate her engagement with Heath.

Late that afternoon April and Bianca checked Angelos over making sure the decorations were just as they wanted. One person had yet to make an appearance. Cheryl Braxton. She had already made her feelings known to both Brax and Heath about their choice of women in their lives. As for Kyle he had yet to meet her. Heath advised him to run when he saw the old bat. After checking the restaurant they left to go back home to change.

The engagement went with a swing. Everyone enjoyed Kyle singing. People came up to Brax and said how surprised they were at his voice and how good he was. The only sticky moment came when he was introduced to Cheryl.

She knocked back her drink and turned to Kyle and spoke. "You are the spawn of the devil." Then she turned and went back up to the bar and got another drink.

Charlie was stood next to him at this encounter then spoke to him. "Don't worry Cheryl is not keen on me either. I once booked her for speeding and then had to arrest her once for assaulting a debt collector. She doesn't mind Bianca so much as she has given her a grandchild."

Days after the engagement party Heath and Bianca set a date for the wedding. It was to be held during the first weekend of the summer holidays.

It was several weeks after the engagement party. Brax was working in the restaurant before the lunchtime opening. Kyle was helping him. Casey was only helping to do the deliveries in the evenings Friday and Saturdays. Instead of going to uni like Ruby he was now working in the recently opened gym in the surf club. He was also studying to become a fully qualified fitness instructor. Doing the extra work helped the fact that he and Ruby had recently split up. The other night he told Charlie he was not surprised that they had broken up. With Ruby living in the city they were not spending much time together. They had decided to remain friends. He was getting on better with Kyle as well. There was the occasional spat but the tension between them was getting less as each day went past.

Brax lifted his head up when he heard a noise on the stairs. It was his bar manager Liam. Liam had been on a week's holiday after the party and he had been quite quiet since he came back. Brax put it down to his ex-getting engaged to Heath and setting a date. Liam put his bag down on the table and walked towards the bar where Brax was stood behind slicing lemons for the drinks.

Liam leant up against the bar. "Brax can I have a word with you. When I was in the city last week I met up with an old friend." He paused as though he was plucking up courage to speak. "He offered me a job. It is helping run his record studio and working at the record label he works for. It means I can see my son more."

Brax nodded at Liam's last statement. He understood about family. "It is up to you what you do Liam. I shall miss your help. When are you thinking of going?"

"He wants me to start in three weeks' time. My mate will find me somewhere to live."

"Are you alright to work until then? I can give you a hand when you move to the city." Brax paused then spoke again. "Charlie can come with me. We can get away from all the wedding talk."

"Charlie wants a ring on her finger?" Liam asked Brax.

"Keep it quiet but we are already engaged. We were going to announce it but Heath beat us to it. We have decided to keep it quiet until after the wedding. You will come back for our wedding?"

Much as I like Ruby and Casey together I think they would have split up naturally. Heath and Bianca will get married in the next chapter. Bianca will have a new colleague. which Braxton Brother will he make jealous. Will this lead to another announcement...
