Bugsy was confused, "So you plan on attacking my Bug Pokémon with your Grass-type?" though his confusion quickly turned into confidence, "I've seen some pretty bold trainers, but this is something else. We won't lose."

"Servine is a tough little lady. She won't be as easy as you think." Though we don't get to play with the advantage of the grass this time we'll do fine.

"It's your loss. Scyther, get in there with your Fury Cutter!"

Scyther rushed down at full speed with scythe prepared to strike. "Wait for it…" Servine was ready, getting slightly lower to the ground. "Now!" Servine ran forward, ducking below Scyther's strike. Servine's vines grabbed between Scyther's abdomen and thorax, swinging herself around and landing on his back, between the wings.

Scar was impressed by Servine's smooth transition and their ability to work together without vocally commanding all of their actions. "Scyther, get her off." It was too late now as Servine finished shifting her vines from Scyther's body to wrap around his arms and shoulder, completely controlling Scyther's range of arm movement. Scyther flew up higher now to try and get her off now.

"Now, pound away with Aqua Tail."

Ayame turned to Mizuki, "Don't they need more water for that attack?"

"Not really." They watched as Servine's tail quickly became encased in water, "As if it wasn't noticeable, this greenhouse has a rather modest level of humidity. Catering to the plants and Bug Pokémon who call it home, there's more than enough moisture in the air for Servine to use."

Servine was smacking her tail hard against Scyther's back until Scyther started to lose altitude. They were only a few feet above the ground now before Servine delivered the final blow. Even so, Servine ensured that Scyther's crash wasn't that hard, cushioning the landing with one of her vines.

Scyther wasn't picking himself back up, and Servine clearly knew this fight was done, nonchalantly walking off his back and toward Taiichi's side of the field. "Scyther is unable to battle. Victory goes to Servine."

Bugsy was shaken, almost falling to his knees from the sheer shock, "But why…"

Scar had to question Charmeleon and Marshtomp that if Servine was capable of doing that, then why didn't she do so against him when they first met at the Safari Zone or at the Pokémon League when he went a little berserk. Charmeleon and Marshtomp had been filled in on the events of the Safari Zone and the Pokémon League 'skirmish' by Servine. If Charmeleon had to guess it was because she had the grass to use and it was more to protect others rather than to fight Scar in both instances. Kangaskhan also commented, saying how she had only seen humans throw rocks, bait or Safari Balls but never attack with Pokémon back in the Safari Zone. Kangaskhan guessed that Servine was probably following the rules the humans established about no Pokémon battles because she remembered Servine did nothing but help lay out the bait trail for her to follow.

Marshtomp then denoted that Servine wasn't one to pummel her friends, only when they do something incredibly stupid. To which Charmeleon snickered, exampling a fight Marshtomp got himself involved in with a Poliwrath and an entire pond of Polis. Marshtomp quickly justified his actions, stating that the Poliwrath was asking for a thumping because of his views on other Water Pokémon.

Bugsy had withdrawn Scyther now, "I'm shocked that you managed to defeat my Scyther with your Servine. But I have others just as strong. Time to flex your muscles, Heracross!"

Heracross started to flex the elytra parts of the back, opening to allow the wings to flutter and pounding fists against exoskeleton. The horn on Heracross was in a cross shape, indicating this Heracross to be a male. Taiichi nodded to Servine and she continued to walk toward the others and off the field, "Now we play by type. Charmeleon, time to shine."

Charmeleon jumped forward, ready to go as he rolled his neck. "So you're using your Fire-type now. Not unexpected to say the least. But don't think we can't counter you."

Charmeleon was ready, and out of instinct Charmeleon's tail started to swish around as the flame was burning hotter and small embers flickered off. Ayame noticed something about Charmeleon's eyes, "He seems far more intent on fighting this one."

"It possible Charmeleon's species traits are finally catching up to his personality. Charmeleon are an aggressive species, usually seeking out strong opponents to challenge. But Charmander was a bit laid back, even as a Charmeleon."

"It could also be that Charmeleon is just hyped to show off his power," Arthur commented, "This is probably one of the few times all of them have been out like this during a battle, right? So perhaps he wishes to show off his battling prowess to the others."

"We have no hope of overpowering a Heracross head on, so we're playing it by distance." Charmeleon snorted a small flame out, ready to fight.

"Smart, but we won't let you have a chance to spout those flames from afar. Heracross, get in there with your Horn Attack!" Heracross rushed in, flying low with horn ready to strike.

"Charmeleon get in there now." Charmeleon rushed forward as though he was going to attack with his claws, but jumped over Heracross at the last instant. He didn't try to roast Heracross at that instant, allowing him to fly under him. Charmeleon jumped back, adjusting himself to get ready for the next pass.

Heracross pushed off against one of the trees, gaining even more speed this charge. "It's over!" Heracross was going to rush at Charmeleon with everything he had.

Charmeleon stood his ground, waiting for Taiichi's command as Heracross was closing the gap. "It's time!" Charmeleon was ready, instead of jumping over, Charmeleon dodged by moving slightly to the right, ducking under Heracross' arm. Charmeleon shot off his flames now, aimed at Heracross' underbelly instead of the clear shot at his wings. Heracross skid across the ground but he wasn't out just yet. "Nice shot Charmeleon!" Charmeleon spouting another gout of flames from his nose as he shifted his full attention to Heracross to see what they had in store.

Mizuki smiled, "Charmeleon must really be getting into the battle now," looking to the flame on his tail as it was starting to create its own heat haze around him.

"Don't get cocky on me now. We're far from done!" Heracross picked himself back up, ready to continue the fight. "We just need to get in close. So let's take a cue from our opponent, kick up as much dirt as you can." Heracross started to dig up the ground with his horn, tossing around plenty of dirt and dust.

"Two can play at that. Charmeleon let put up your smokescreen." Mixing in with the dust and the thick black smoke from Charmeleon, the entire field was veiled in this cover leaving the fighting down to Heracross and Charmeleon to decide how the fight ended.

Charmeleon managed to calm down enough that the heat from his body and tail would not lift this new veil of his smoke letting both guess where their opponent was. Charmeleon holds a slight advantage over Heracross since the smoke he is hiding in will disorient the Single Horn Pokémon should he stay in there too long and his wings weren't strong enough to remove all of the smoke. Heracross continued to kick up more dust to try and compensate for the smoke in the air.

Though the others weren't capable of following, it seemed Joltik had little trouble. She could feel the electricity in the air and was following the distortions caused by Charmeleon and Heracross moving around. The two of them were getting ready for their confrontation soon.

Heracross found Charmeleon's flame lit tail, rushing in to knock him out of his smoke cover. However the tail was a decoy, luring Heracross in so Charmeleon could use his claws. Heracross managed to block Charmeleon's claws using the spikes on his forearms. Charmeleon wasn't out of options as he prepared his Flamethrower to roast this beetle. Heracross managed to get his horn beneath Charmeleon tossing him high into the air and away from the cloud they created. Charmeleon quickly recovered, using his Dragon Rage to slow his decent.

Servine slapped Marshtomp's back, yelling, "Vine!"

"Mar Mar…" Marshtomp flapped his hands, mockingly about being ordered around again, as he moved to the side of the field Charmeleon was on, squirting small doses of water to extinguish the excess flames that threatened the surrounding forest. Charmeleon nodded, giving a thumbs up, but Marshtomp waved him off for being bothered to help compensate for him but pointing out that he should watch his opponent instead.

Heracross came out of the dust like a raging Tauros and his horn was glowing white. Charmeleon didn't have time to move, forced to use his claws to try and deviate the attack instead of blocking it head on. It barely worked, Charmeleon managed to throw Heracross off course but the power behind the attack was massive as he rolled away from it. Heracross went airborne now as he prepared for the next attack.

"I have to admit, your Charmeleon is pretty good to have deflected Heracross' Megahorn, but now we're going to end this. Use your Fury Attack!"

"Charmeleon it's time to do a proper roast." Charmeleon opened fire with Flamethrower, but Heracross was able to dodge each shot while getting even closer. Charmeleon stopped firing, allowing Heracross even closer to strike. "Duck!" Charmeleon dove beneath Heracross' arc and released a modest amount of flames as the two of them crossed paths.

Heracross landed, rubbing his heated belly against the ground to cool off, quickly picking himself back up and ready again. Charmeleon wasn't letting up, as a new blast of fire was heading right to Heracross. "Brace!"

Heracross covered his eyes and mouth as he was fully enveloped in fire. "It's over."

"Not quite, Ayame." When Charmeleon finally let up Heracross was still standing, though he won't be if he took another hit like that. Beedrill was still impressed by Heracross' endurance and strength, but it was still an uphill battle.

"Heracross, don't give up! This is our last shot so give it everything you've got!" Heracross dug his foot into the ground, ready.

"We can't slack either Charmeleon. Let's meet them with your all too!"

Charmeleon and Heracross were staring each other down, ready to strike at the drop of a pin. Everyone fell silent, watching the two of them contemplate their next move. The sound of a twig snapping had Charmeleon and Heracross both lunged at each other, Heracross' horn glowing white again and Charmeleon's with his claws ready. As they got closer, Heracross flew for Charmeleon's chest but Charmeleon grabbed Heracross by his horn and used the momentum from Heracross to swing around and slam Heracross back down.

Heracross tried to get back up, but he wasn't in any shape to continue, collapsing back onto the floor. "Heracross is unable to continue. The victory goes to Charmeleon."

Charmeleon started to shot flames into the air for his victory over such a strong opponent. "Time to take a nice long rest." Bugsy put Heracross' Poké Ball away, "Not bad but now you'll lose. Go Metapod!"

The Poké Ball released Metapod onto the field as its shell shimmered. "Tai!"

"Yeah, I know. Charmeleon, come on back." Charmeleon nodded, walking back to the others as Servine moved to take his place. They both exchanged high fives as they crossed, Servine using her vine to meet Charmeleon's hand.

Ayame seemed confused by this. "Why switch now with such an open victory?"

"Because the pod is ready to hatch. Even with Charmeleon's type advantage, he won't be much use when Metapod grows wings. Not to mention that Servine is more adept at combatting opponents in a green terrain."

Servine warily watched the chrysalis to see what they had planned. "If you guys aren't going to attack, we'll go first. Metapod use String Shot!" Metapod shot silk from the middle of its body, striking one of the branches above and started to swing about. "Now for your Tackle attack!"

Metapod cut the string it was swinging with and dived for Servine. Servine moved away, but Metapod fired off another string of silk to shift its trajectory to follow Servine. "We've got to get Metapod off your tail." Servine lashed out with Vine Whip and tried to toss Metapod away, but the Cocoon Pokémon recovered by using more String Shots to correct itself and crashed into Servine. "Servine!"

She recovered, tossing Metapod off herself. However once Metapod stopped moving, the shell started to crack, creating a large split across most of the back and a blinding light emanated from the split. Veined White wings with black accents unfurled and quickly hardened as the rest of Butterfree pulled itself out.

The light stopped once Butterfree had fully emerged as it started to flap its wings, leaving the empty carapace behind. "Alright Butterfree, time we showed them Bug superiority!" Taiichi had a small shiver, and Servine noticed. She took the initiative, lashing her whips out but Butterfree used its wings to create powerful gusts of wind to blow Servine's vines back. "That won't be enough to stop us. Butterfree use your Psybeam!"

Multicolored beams fired from Butterfree's compound eyes, aimed at Servine. Taiichi almost looked frozen, gazing at Butterfree. "Tai, what are you waiting for?"

"Uh, right…" Taiichi shock himself around, "Servine protect yourself with Leaf Storm!" Servine had already created her barrier, blocking Butterfree's beam.

"Tai, what's going on? You're acting like you were back in Saffron."

"It's nothing. We're fine." Servine knew better, giving him a glare while trying to keep her other eye on Butterfree.

"Fear is in your voice," Ayame pointed out, "This isn't something I've normally seen with you."

"I said it was nothing! I'm fine! Servine get ready to counter with Aqua Tail!"

"And we won't let you get in that close. Butterfree use Silver Wind and keep them at bay!" Butterfree started flapping its wings as powdery scales were released from them and rushed toward Servine by powerful gusts of wind.

Servine was pinned by the powerful wind, covering her face as she tried to gather enough water for the attack. The wind was too powerful and kept scattering what she had gathered. "Tai…"

"Servine, another Leaf Storm!" Arthur watched with intrigue now as Servine created an even more powerful Leaf Storm that easily countered against Silver Wind.

"Wha…what power!" Servine continued with the Leaf Storm, trying to suck Butterfree in.

"Now!" Servine jumped out of the swirling energy with her tail fully enveloped by water, crashing it against Butterfree and slamming the butterfly down to the ground.

Servine stood there, her tail still covered in the veil of water as she waited to see if her opponent still had the energy to continue. Butterfree flapped its wings, trying to lift off, but Butterfree was out of steam. "Butterfree is unable to battle. The victory and the match go to Servine and Taiichi."

Taiichi just breathed a sigh of relief, keeping himself standing. Bugsy smiled, withdrawing Butterfree, "I was hoping to stand more of a chance against the prodigy child of the Asari family, but I guess I was wrong."

"Wait, you know who I was?"

Bugsy looked somewhat disappointed, "Well yeah, we played together once a long time ago. It was probably when you were three and a half or so. I accidently scared you with a really close encounter with a wild Ariados and a Yanmega. That and your parents contacted me saying you might be heading my way soon. When I saw you with a Joltik, Beedrill and you yourself carrying around a Scyther, I thought you had gotten over that little phobia I accidently put you with."

Taiichi half smiled, "It's not that I fear Bug Pokémon, I just feel uncomfortable around the ones that really, really look like bugs…and the regular little creepy crawlies." Servine still felt annoyed that she still hasn't found a way to get him over it yet.

"So back when you faced against Sabrina…she was…"

"Say Bugsy," Taiichi cut Mizuki off, "about that badge…"

"Oh right." Bugsy had a small case handed to him by the referee of their match, "In recognition of your victory here, I present you with the Hive Badge." Bugsy handed off the badge with a smile.

"Thanks," Taiichi got his team back into their Poké Balls, "So next stop back to that house of Arthur friend's, then to Goldenrod City." Taiichi was already walking away but Ayame stayed back just a moment to bow to Bugsy, withdrawing Beedrill now as she caught up to them.

Mizuki however was confronting him about this, "So why weren't you like that when we came across the Combee hive or were lullabied by the songs of Kricketune at night?"

"Because they don't have the compound eyes and mandibles of regular bugs glaring at us."

"And Beedrill?"

"Beedrill don't have the mandibles and her eyes look more like gems. Unlike Butterfree, Venonat, or Yanmega."

Mizuki looked back, spotting Ayame behind them, "And Joltik? How will you feel about her when she evolves into Galvantula?"

"I think I can get over it for her, but overall…We'll do something," not wanting to bring up Mizuki's dislike of Machoke or Graveler.

Arthur came up from behind, grabbing them both, "No worries. Everybody has their strengths and weaknesses, just like Pokémon. We just have to find ways to defeat them, weather its head on or by other means. And I'm sure you have something up your sleeve."

A/N: And now begins a slowing of updates. Sorry everyone, but I have to focus on other matters before delving into continuing any of my stories.
