Chapter 46

Tobias, Cora, and I go to the infirmary on the way home. Cora falls asleep on Tobias' shoulder. When we get to the infirmary, the nurse sees me and we go straight to Evelyn's room. The nurse leads us to her room, when we get in there she has IV cords coming out of both arms. The doctors follows us in.

"How are you feeling, Evelyn?"

"Tired, but I'm fine. I haven't been dizzy."

"That's a good sign. I know I said your blood pressure looks well, but I still want to monitor it. It was a little high, which might have triggered the dizziness. The urine sample showed us you are very dehydrated, that's the reason why you are feeling dizzy and weak. I want to keep you here for two days, then depending on how you are doing you will be released. You have to keep hydrated or else you will lose your baby." He concludes then walks out. Evelyn sits there shocked. I try not to look at Evelyn sympathetically, but the look she's giving me back says I am. I don't want her to lose baby nor do I want Tobias to lose his mom. I know they haven't had the greatest relationship in the past but it's getting better.

Tobias and I walk out because nobody was saying anything. When we get home Tobias starts making dinner, while I lay on the couch with Cora. I stroke her hair while I think about the camera that's been in my office this entire time. I wonder if Eric put it in there or was it someone else when they were cleaning out his office. I want to know why me? Why us? I look down at Cora, sleeping peaceful, oblivious to what's going on around her. I will find this person and I will find out why they are killing innocent people.

Tobias gently shakes Cora and me awake. "Dinner is served." I carry Cora to the dinner table and set her in a chair. Tobias sits across from me, making Cora the head of the table. Tobias made lasagna with a Cesar salad and garlic bread. He pours each of us a glass of milk. Then serves us each a piece of lasagna and bread with a scoop of Cesar salad.

"Thank you. This looks delicious." Tobias leads us in grace, then we dig in. Cora doesn't wait a second before digging in. I look over at Cora her face is indulged in the lasagna and bread, she hasn't touched her salad yet.

After dinner I do the dishes then help Cora with a bath. Once Cora stops splashing bubbles on my face, I wash her body and hair, then I add conditioner to her hair. I help her dry off then, I put her in her pajamas, then we go to my room so I can out my pajamas on. When we go down stairs Tobias has the fireplace going and a bowl of popcorn. Cora and I sit on the couch and wait for Tobias.

"What would you like to do?" I ask Cora.

"Ummm… tell me a story." She looks up and smiles at me. I think about a story.

"A long time ago, when kings and queens lived. There was two families, once family had a son and a daughter, the other family only had a son. The family with the daughter, she always lived in the shadows of her brother. All she wanted in her life was not to live in those shadows, she want to live freely. Now the family with only a son, he had lost his mommy when he was little. His father was a mean man, all he wanted to do was rule the kingdom, although he didn't have much power because he was only a knight. The son was waiting for the right time to leave his father, to free himself.

When the time came, the boy left the kingdom, in search for a new life. The kingdom was shocked the day he left. He left and found a home somewhere else. Now the daughter of the council member was getting reprehended day in and day out by her perfect brother.

In due time she was able to leave, her parents weren't shocked when she left, but when her brother left it left all of the in shock. When she left to find a better place, she met a friend, they found a home in a far off kingdom. In the new kingdom, there was this boy who was constantly watching her, almost protecting her." I look up at Tobias and smile. Cora is a sleep in my lap.

"Goodnight, my little girl." Tobias picks her up for me then carries her to the bedroom.

I lay down in bed and Tobias joins me.

"I will always protect you." I look at Tobias confused. "Your 'fairytale' about us. The boy who was watching the daughter, protecting her."

"I know, you always have protected me. Even if it could've gotten you in trouble, kick out of Dauntless."

"It was totally worth it." I reach up a kiss him. He deepens the kiss. "Don't forget we have a little eyes and ears in our bedroom." I say breathlessly.

"I wish we were alone."

"I always wish that." I give him one more kiss, then I turn around and cuddle against his body. He wraps his arms around me and holds me tight.

AN: Sorry it took me so long to write this chapter, I had major writer's block for most of the chapter, so this one is a filler chapter. I hope to update within these next few days, considering I'm on spring break right now.

QOTC: Have you seen Allegiant? What's your opinion?

AOTC: Yes; I don't want to give many spoilers but here's my input: It was terrible, but it wasn't fabulous. I wish they would've tried a little harder to keep to the book, there are many things I wish they would've done instead of what they did. Oh! I don't live in the Midwest (if you live in the Midwest you can correct me if I'm wrong), but I'm pretty sure that it's not a desert (like where I live), I could be wrong but I picture outside the wall more grassy than what the movie produce
