Professor Dumbledore's Office
Sigh. I really thought this whole exploding magic debacle was well and truly over. It's been two years since anything happened!
Anyway, it was just a typical Charms class. We've been learning about different kinds of Heating Charms, and today we were learning a simple Drying Spell (because it's a sort of Heating Charm), which I've known how to do for like, a year. So about the third or fourth time I was doing it (on Georgia, poor girl), Georgia's hair and robes started steaming and her robes caught fire, and she even got a couple burns!
Not only did that happen, but then all the books and papers on the desks around her started to catch fire and before I knew it, half the room was on fire! Then, I did a simple Aguamenti spell, and all of the sudden there was an explosion of water and everything and everyone in the room was soaked!
Anyway, then Professor Flitwick put Lily in charge, asked Remus to take Georgia to the Hospital Wing, and told everyone to start practicing their drying spells on each other and the things in the classroom. Then he asked me to come with him, and he took me to Professor McGonagall's office, who thought it might be better to take me to the Headmaster once she heard what had happened.
So here we are, sitting here waiting for Professor Dumbledore to come in.
And there he is. I have a special summoning magic when it comes to the Headmaster. It's weird.

So Dumbledore was actually pretty concerned that all of this had happened again, especially on such a disastrous scale. I actually thought he was just gonna make sure I was okay and pull another, "You'll get used to it."
Instead, he said he wants to keep a very close eye on my magic. He's asked me to send him a note if anything at all out of the ordinary happens, and he's asked all my professors to keep an eye on me as well.
I hope this isn't something I should be worried about. He seems to be taking it very seriously, at least. Lily says I shouldn't worry and Georgia (who got healed up quite nicely at the Hospital Wing and assures me she is fine, and won't accept my effusive apologies) says she thinks Dumbledore's probably just being over cautious.
Should I write and tell Sebastien what happened? I don't want him to worry too much.
I just asked the girls and they both just screamed at me, "YES!" very loudly, at the same time, and now they're high-fiving. And now there are a lot of people staring at us. Awesome…
The thing is, Sebastien needs to concentrate on his final exams, and from what he tells me, I'm already distraction enough! I don't want him to start worrying that I might blow myself up at any moment as well!
I don't know. Maybe I will write him. I'll just convince him it's no big deal. Like, I'll be all
Sebastien,
Something weird happened to me today. So my wand has a Veela hair core, and when I first started learning magic, I used to have these little accidents where my wand would go crazy and perform really powerful spells. But once I gained control of my magic use, it pretty much stopped.
But it happened again today, which is totally weird. Nothing really bad happened though. I just set a couple things on fire, and then I put them out, so it was fine. Anyway, it was all good after that. It was kind of weird though. I was probably just distracted, thinking about you.
Speaking of, I miss you. I don't think I can wait till June to see you again. It seems much too far away to me. Think though, when we see each other next, you'll have graduated, and I'll be a NEWT student! What a weird thought!
Regardless, it still seems much too far away. My friends are always teasing me about you and asking to read your letters (I'm glad they don't speak French for all those times they get their way) and oohing and ahhing over the things you say. I told them you taught me to windsurf and they wanted to know every detail. I wish they were that interested in my Quidditch games!
Write me again soon. I miss you and reading about your life is about the only thing that makes any of that better.
Love,
Rose
And that will be that. He won't even remember that anything bad happened. Done and dusted!
I wonder what kind of unusual stuff Professor Dumbledore wants me to look out for.
