Chapter 54: The Wrong End Of The Stick
Back in Dorm 49...
"So how did your training come off at?". Vanellope asked, currently sat on her bed.
"Perfect". Fluttershy. "We were reminded of our fixtures too".
"Yeah". Twilight replied. "Pesrill Ladies travel to Hillwood United Ladies first".
"And Evergreen Ladies are at home to L.A Galaxy Ladies". Vexy replied.
"And Canonshape Ladies travel to Acmetropolis United Ladies". Rarity tagged along.
"Hmm...Acmetropolis, that place seems familiar to me". Lola replied.
"Of course". Twilight explained. "It was your hometown, as well as Tune Land for that matter".
"Yeah".
"Well, anyways...The first Canterlot derby of the MLS season is on the opening day when Canterlot United Ladies are away to Canterlot City Ladies". Applejack continued.
"That's wonderful". Fluttershy replied in glee. "6 of us are facing each other".
"Yeah". Twilight tagged along. "Dashie, Van, Sun, Aj, Sticksy and Lola".
"I don't know girls". Sticks worryling replied. "Why do we have to though?".
"Because the 3 points is all in the bag for any team". Rainbow answered.
"But...how, why?". She tried hard not to swell up.
She covered her face with her hands. She didn't know what to expect.
"I think someone's a little upset about the whole 'Fixture List' thing". Lola remarked.
"C'mon Sticks". Twilight came over to her, putting one arm over her in the process. "Lightne up. It's just a friendly soccer game. Oppopsition are friends too".
"Yeah, but not fierce rivalry".
"I know that, but this is not the time to be upset over nothing too important".
"Actually, the 3 points is important". Rainbow remarked.
"Thanks girls". Sticks replied, wiping the small tears from her eyes. "I appreciate the comfort".
"That's good to hear". Twilight smiled.
"I...just had a hard time with the government, you know". Sticks replied, changing to a different subject. "The whole' Turning my plants into violins or replacing them with them'".
"Uhhh...". Twilight replied, trying to think of a reply.
"Why now are we talking about Violins?". Pinkie remarked. "Octavia has got one in Dorm 12".
"Shush, Pinkie". Rainbow softenly shouted.
"It's just that this whole thing about being a professional soccer player is a big oppotunity while trying to avoid the monotonoues amount of bad criticism".
"It's going to fine Sticks". Sunset tagged along. "I dealt with it before".
"Really?".
"Well, yeah. Look, I had to deal with the awful amount of the stuff, no need to fret".
"Thanks girls". Sticks replied before she sniffed away the remains of her tears.
"It's ok". Twilight replied. "As long as we get to keep one of the girls happy, then you're happy too".
"You girls are the best friends a girl could ever have, and Amy Rose".
"Whatever you say". Lola replied. "We aim to please".
Sticks smiled and gave Lola a thumbs up. She soon noticed the sky getting dark. Sunset and Sticks waved bye to the other girls and headed to Dorm 23 and Dorm 37 respectively.
At around about midnight, In Dorm 23...
Candace, Sticks and the other 8 dormmates were already alseep, ignoring the torrential rain that was pouring outside, making a racket. Candace was fast asleep while Sticks wanted her dream to be a good one.
[Sticks's dream
Sticks was walking down the tunnel that led onto the pitch of Bangrang Stadium, along with the other 5 girls and their respective teammates. The crowd was roaring and the lights were shining on the pitch. The cameras were shining onto them as they entered the pitch. The two team captains placed their positions as well as deciding to who will get to kick the ball first. The referee flipped a coin and told them that United were going to kick the ball first. Rainbow and Vanellope got around the sphere-looking object and waited for the whistling to be blown. Sticks, Applejack, Lola and Sunset Shimmer were in their respective positions. The refereee looked at his watch, but at the time, a boomerang came flying into the staium and hit Applejack on the arm. She picked it up and turned to Sticks, who apparently had a guilt-looking face on.
"Is this your boomerang?". She asked.
"Y-yeah". Sticks answered, nervously.
"Then what is it doing in the middle of the darn pitch then?".
"What?". Sticks replied. "That wasn't me".
"It's your boomerang".
"But I swear, I didn't throw it".
"What is going on here". The referee asked, running over to the two.
"Sticks's boomerang came flying into the stadium and hit me on the arm".
"What". The referee replied before glaring at Sticks. "Is this true?".
"No". Sticks defended herself. "I didn't throw i, I swear".
"Yeah, right". The referee concluded while reaching into his pocket and showing an early red card for Sticks's unsporting behavoiur and for her dissent. Sticks couldn't believe what had happen to her and she started to feel guilty for her actions. She began walking towards the tunnel in shame, fans of both teams emotionally mocking her, causing her to swell up. She ran to the dressing room and covered her face with her arms as she met her face with the bench]
Sticks soon woke up form her nightmare. She sat up and looked around, her heart beating like a racecar. Candace was asleep as well as the other 8. She soon felt that her friends may dislike her after the first game. She began sinking her head into her arms as she tried hard not to swell up again.
"This is totally worthless". She softly said.
That's the end of this chapter. So, Sticks is still worried that her friends may dislike her after the first game. What will happen next. Read on to find out. Please review.
