Historical AU: 1909. Against all odds a young Dmitry is plucked from the streets of St. Petersburg and invited to live with the Royal family as the companion to the Tsarevich Alexei. But the Russian Revolution is looming on the horizon and the country is becoming more dangerous by the day.

Historical(ish) AU: Dimitri the kitchen boy becomes a companion to Alexei and remains on with the doomed Romanov family through the Russian Revolution. Somewhere along the way, a romance silently blooms. Who will survive? And will they make that survival mean something? Anastasia/Dimitri. Rated T for violence and thematic elements.
