I wouldn't bother explaining my various favorites to you, but sometimes they appear in my writing, so here it goes:
Movie: "Whale Rider." Watch it and weep (I recommend at least one box of kleenex, if not more)(though I'm also very emotional, so...)
Music: "Promises in the dark" by Pat Benatar (and most of her other songs), "Human" by the Pretenders, almost anything by the Beatles, "Sweet Surrender" by Sarah McLachlan

Food: Apple Pie a la mode, banana bread
