Author has written 10 stories for Silmarillion, Lord of the Rings, and Leverage. Hi, as you can see I am from South Africa, at the moment living in a very small town called Ermelo. I'm 31 years old and studying phsycology at the moment. I am proud to call myself a follower of Christ. As you can see I haven't be writing for very long and only now really getting into it. I am a fan of alot of stories and shows but my biggest love is Lord of the Rings and other books that Tolkien wrote, I also very much enjoy The Hobbit, because it's one of the few books that really portray my favourite character, who we all know is Thranduil lol. I can't wait for the movie to come out I just hope that they do him justice, not just because he's my fave but also because he plays a silent yet formidable role in saving Middle-Earth by fighting Sauron's minions on a near daily basis and defeats him in the final battle of the Woodelves. I like Legolas too just not as much as I used to; I admire him in the book and movies, but I read so much about him and some writers make him so perfect and always the good guy and if him and Thranduil get in an argument it's always Thranduil at fault that it does get tiring. That is why I'm working on putting more and more of the Elvenking into this site and try and portray him as he should be and as how I see him, and that's not as some hot-tempered, easy-to-anger tyrant. Now that my near tirade is over lol I really hope that you will take the time to read my work and to please take the time to send a review, an author always needs good feedback to see how he/she is doing and to make improvements where needed, constructive critism is always welcome, but flames are not, they do not serve a purpose and are only sent by those who don't know how to manage their anger or are just out to hurt others through words. Thranduil is not a tyrant, okay?! I refuse to read stories where he is portrayed as such. He was just being a good king. If you still don't believe me, read The Hobbit again. Tolkien writes that 'if the king had a weakness it was for treasure' not for beating up his subjeects. In addition, he succours the Men of the Lake in their need, and Bilbo is willing to die for him. Moreover, do you really think Legolas would have been alright if he had been abused during his childhood? I rest my case! If you agree, copy and paste this into your profile, add your name to the list and spread the word. Elindë, Elven Warrior Princess Not much else to add at the moment :) God bless. |
